Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

09 Jun 2012 23:08:06
Can people stop putting up rumours of "imminent" announcements. They are quite meaningless because as we will all eventually conclude, somebody is bound to be right at some point. Just people trying to give the impression they have inside knowledge, majority of these posts are complete garbage. I ask all such posters, politely to desist from doing this. My worry is Bates is reverting to type and will be a pain in the a**e to negotiate with. Also he is as crooked as the day is long. Keeping my fingers crossed

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Can people stop posting anything other than reasons for Bates to go, because if he doesn't we aren't going anywhere?

We need to show a concerted effort that this club is dead unless we get rid of Bates?

Hopefully Warnock won't walk, but I have money on him doing so.....

... and who would blame him if Bates doesn't put up what he promised?

GOOD NEWS: Lets stop fretting and think positive here guys. Been ultra quiet and fans have got frustrated to the extent that anger is showing because of lack of activity. Its gonna mean that there will be good news. Lets look at the reality.... Money comes in and we potentially get a takeover or someone sticks dosh in and Uncle Ken releases some control. If nowt happens the team will suffer big time and Uncle Ken loses the remainder of his team and the bottom falls out of his investment because none of us are going to watch. He's in a no win situation and we are going to benefit either way because it will force his hand to sell out completely. There is a light at the end of the tunnel

Believable2 Unbelievable2

So where actually is the GOOD NEWS then?

Agree1 Disagree0

Exactly, where is the good news?. Ken has always ignored everyone else and done his own thing.. that being building a leisure empire not a football club,
I fear the 'investment' is nothing more than a smokescreen to give KB time to have a holiday and not spend on the team and all the rumours will actually be about nothing. Let's hope not, but we all know how he works

Am I blocked? {Ed013's Note - No, why?}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

A reply I made earlier has not shown up. Then a disagree failed twice. {Ed013's Note - Not sure which one. Try again}

Agree1 Disagree0

Thanks, but no. Why is it so quiet? I know about non disclosure, but surely it only takes someone who has seen or heard something to tell a friend who is dissatisfied and then something would come out? I guess everyone is watching the euros but there is lots of time in a day. And bates has said nothing?

I would just like to start by saying that everyone that comes on here must have some friends in football sAying that i have it on good authority Leeds will be doing this doing that the fact is no one knows what's going on and we are all just speculating and over expanding the truth that nothing will happen because if it was going to then it would have been announced by now just wait and see rather than coming on saying what you would like to happen because it never will be what we expect our get club to be like you all forget especially the fans that support bates we are all morons

Believable1 Unbelievable4

09 Jun 2012 20:44:10
Its not good signs at leeds with bates if u think about it. if no takeover happens then bates stays and with manager,players and fans have no faith in bates broken promises and lies no players coming in with funds or not no1 wants to play under bates and our good players leaving be lucky to stay up think our last chance is takeover

Believable2 Unbelievable3

With some good investment we could mount a seriouse challenge next season. You know what they say no news is good news.
Lets hope that theory is bang on the nail.

There is a reason this is a rumours site, so people can keep on making stories up from a very reliable source etc.. There are that many reliable sources coming out of elland road with people on here, the naming rights to the stadium is going to be Dolmio, no seriously nobody apart from them who's doing the deal know a single thing so let's all just sit back and wait for a statement from the club on wot is happening, that way we might stop hearing that some Arab billionaire is taking over and bringing messi and ronaldo with him, enjoy the rest of your weekend everyone and let's hope something good comes out of all this silence. Gaz.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

If that was the case and we all sat back, why are you writting on here and not sitting back. I gues same as us, we all have are theorys and want to share them.

Can I ask everyone on here to stop speculating, stop any rumours whatsoever and just spend the whole of your time trying to get Bates out OUR club?

I hate to have to do this but the time is up, we need to show solidarity, ever throuth the LUST site or just as real supporters that we have had enough of this, and we want to put our club back up where it belongs?

Stop posting any 'rumours' or banter, let us all, 100% show that we have had enough of this sh*te and unless Ken Bates goes then NONE of us go back to Elland Road?

This isn't about supporting OUR team, this is about ridding ourself of the leech who is fast proving his aim to kill off Leeds United!

Keep the faith, lets get this t**t gone?

Leeds4alongtime

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Why is anyone disagreeing here?

Put your reasons up?

We need to go forward, we are putting millions of pounds through the gate each year and we have a leech taking most of it for himself or court expenses?

Why would you support and pay for that??

Agree1 Disagree5

I'll go even if we start with Lees,Pearce,Becchio and make the rest up with the youth team, Can't honestly see what Boycotting/Protesting will achieve .REAL supporters turn up week in week out through good and bad, what ever team starts the season needs our upmost support.

Agree7 Disagree2

I am diagreeing because I`m sick of the bates out sh1te.
Bates is a business man, who will, and has taken reasonable business decisions in regards to Leeds utd. I for one think he has done pretty well to stabalise our club and made us into an attractive buyout proposition. Bate`s time may well be nearing an end,but we could have had much worse. And if we are not careful we might get worse owners in the future.
I for one will not be slating Mr Bates,and if he goes it will be a big thankyou for what he has done for Leeds Utd.

Agree7 Disagree4

I`d love to see what happens if you had any say in the day to day running of a business like Leeds utd.

Ed? why have you edited the word ID***S in my post when the original poster call Bates a t**t! surely the poster is far more offensive than I was?
Just wondering as it seems people think its ok to call anyone a ..... etc.
"T" {Ed013's Note - The last person made an attempt to hide his word}

Agree0 Disagree0

Boycotting the games will do alot in terms of getting rid of bates as he wont want to stay if hes not making any money as 60% + is from ticket sales alone . this will then mean there will be no funds for players which will mean we will probably go down if he still didn't go and then we would lose rest of our players and bates couldn't afford for us to go down again so would have to leave

Agree1 Disagree0

A true fan will all ways come to eland road

Agree2 Disagree1

A true fan would stick up for what he or she believes in. I for one am not a leeming and go to as many games as i can. So i have a right to voice my concernes on were all are hard earned cash is goin.
If you went into the shop and the lady short changed you. Would you walk away thinking, never mind its my local shop and i love it. No you wouldn't, you'ld be straight back in asking what the crack is. It's not surpriseing Bates is doin this to us, when people are sitting back and letting this happen.

Agree2 Disagree1

I am the original poster and I too am sick of the Bates Out s**te too...

... however, I have also supported Leeds for more than 40 years and I have now come to a point that I will not let him prey on my devotion to Leeds United.

I will never pay to see another game while he is in charge, full stop.

What more damage is that going to do than he is already doing?

It seems like the only way to get rid is to stop his income, and I can do that, or at least be a part of that?

This guy has dragged our name into the courts and done more damage than any single supporter could ever hope to achieve?

We need to now stand up and be counted.....

or rather, not stand up and be fleeced?

Your choice, as is mine....

... you keep paying the man your money he will take it.

When he's gone I will be back, but not before, the rest is down to you people...

@mot4life

I am a true fan and I am sticking up for what I believe in.

I believe that the money you/I/we put into our club should go to the players wages and new players NOT into new stands, not into a casino, not into offshore accounts.

As I am sticking up for what I believe in, I have the right to spend my hard earned cash where I see fit, not on paying almost £200 to watch Leeds play at home (with transport, tickets, meal, etc) when most of the actual ticket money gets swallowed up by Ken Bates plc?

Hi ed. Feeling a little more positive today with regards to maybe some positive news coming out of elland road. Is it true that an embargo is definately in place this could be the start of a very positive week. Well done for blocking those idiots who obviously don't care about people and there feelings. Keep up the good work MOT darren {Ed013's Note - I cannot confirm mate, it does all make sense as why Neil was so quiet when he went away. There was something on Calender news but I missed it}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I think now is the time to start a serious movement about getting Bates out of Leeds, he has had time enough to do the right thing....

Agree2 Disagree4

Call me thick what are the reasons for a transfer embargo ? {Ed013's Note - Whilst in a takeover players are not allowed to move in or out. The one's at the club already are the seen as assets and new one's coming in may change when a new owner takes over}

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed - we don't have any proof that a takeover IS in place, no names, no companies, nothing? The only thing stopping us making deals at the moment are a certain Mr Bates and Mr Harvey....

... unless they want to make a public announcement to the contrary of course?? {Ed013's Note - It was on the OS that investment talks were being looked at. I am sure the LUST group confirmed that an offer for the club was on the table also}

Agree0 Disagree0

ED - like you say 'looked at'. there is nothing official, no real statements, nothing....

Most of us realise these things will take there course, and we also know how Leeds do their business, but at the end of the day we are the customers here, and need to be kept in touch, even just a few words....

I thought Portsmouth were in a takeover situation but it hasn't stopped them selling players..... {Ed013's Note - They are in administration and need to pay bills. Everyone will continue to speculate until an announcement is made}

Agree0 Disagree0

09 Jun 2012 17:09:53
I do agree that the prices people at E.R. are expected to pay are crazy. Honestly why do the people in charge charge so much? Surely we would make more in terms of mathday rev if there were double the people in E.R. for 2/3 of the ticket price!
If they can't work that out my god we are in trouble!

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Still need a decent team to fill the ground,.

Agree5 Disagree0

Same income but more outgoings for police and security etc this is why bates closes top of east stand also he still knows that for a big game we will still fill the ground regardless of price.our loyalty as given bates the ammo he needs. he could,nt have done this with many other clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

A good financial expert would at the very least attempt volume sales with lower profit margins and gain higher loyalty from more fans...who would come and spend more in the shop and on food outlets. They havent even made an 'attempt' Not a single effort in their business efforts. Wonder if they get bonuses for this abismal effort.

Agree0 Disagree0

The actual ticket price is a little irrelevant to those of us that have a round journey to make to watch the club, usually £200 a time or more.

I have spent over 40 years supporting Leeds United, but it ain't going to happen again untill I seed solid investment into the team, either with or (preferably) without Bates as a part of it.

I have decided to invest in one of my kids future, with a deposit on a house, rather than travel to Leeds next season, when Bates goes I might come back.... {Ed013's Note - Would you come back with investors taking a share and giving 6 million for players to help gain promotion? I am dreading getting my 3 year old a season ticket and I have a new born due any minute so my pockets will be empty. I am in the process of writing another letter to show a few home truths from working class families. I am waiting to see how this investment pans out before I send it}

I think we all need to calm down a see what happens. I am sure that something will, there is never smoke without fire, but we need to wait and see if we are in the middle of a forest fire or a BBQ!
So please stop posting such utter tosh and wasting everyone's time!
Thank you.

09 Jun 2012 16:05:52
we all should relax and stop being so negative - these matters are complex and especially if there is an embargo - due diligence etc etc - signed confidentiality agreements ? - with several players -new incoming and existing like snodgrass .- waiting to sign after promised resolution of takeover materialize -
Todays recent political comments from Lust, Players and Manager may suggest that Bates is wavering and 'considering' his options on shares % or his full departure etc
Are the List / players comments designed to force his hand ?
Also remember there was talk of 2 interested parties - the second one may have stuck its nose in and upped the stakes ( all speculation on my part so we will continue to wait )
Forest are in limbo also which suggests a connection to me - with one of the interested buyers - weighing up both clubs ?

Believable1 Unbelievable2

The fact that the club announced it was in talks is strange. People normally keeps stuff like that pretty close to their chests so I guess that the announcement was designed to alert all the interested parties in order to get the price up. All pure conjecture of course and I'm not holding my breath. My head tells me to expect another season of dire football but I'd still like to think we'll win the league, England will win the Euros and world peace will break out...

Agree0 Disagree1

On the contrary, we now have Bates who did the right thing but is now leeching us dry, we need to cut off his income, and this isn't to deny our team, lets face it they are all pissed off too?

Lets all do the one thing we can next season, and that is to vote with our feet, I certainly won't be returning to Elland Road till he's gone now.

Enough is enough, I'm not prepared to keep paying money into the Ken Bates attacks Mr Levi yet again fund......

Agree1 Disagree0

09 Jun 2012 15:57:02
When (or dare I say if) the takeover happens, don't get me wrong, I like all Leeds fans will be over the moon.

It will be like a start of a new era. However we cannot be truly excited until we see the signings Warnock brings in. He is experienced, but if he just brings in average talents I think that we will struggle for promotion. We don't want QPR cast offs, we want premier league quality.

-Whiteforlife

Believable3 Unbelievable0

I reckon no matter how much money Warnock has to spend the targets will be the same Kenny, derry etc. He very much sticks to what he knows. I personally didn't want him and nothing has changed my mind since, despite him becoming the saviour to all leeds fans because he 'tells it like it is'. Never mind we dropped down the league, lost more than we won and in some games, never even looked like we knew where the goal was, as long as Warnock came out and said the players are s**t he's doing a good job! See what happens next season but takeover or not i'd like to see a new manager come in who will get us playing football.

09 Jun 2012 15:24:20
Wish ken bates would get a grip give the club the funds they need and he can make a deal with whoever is buying the club that what he puts out for funds goes on top of the price not goin to cost the buyers anything more as they would give leeds transfer funds anyway just stick to 5 million or something also aidy white wants to stay at leeds he loves the club he just wanted little bit more money that came from aidys brother

Hello ED, what on earth is everybody getting nervous about, this is Leeds we never do anything the easy way, the takeover will go ahead, how can you buy players when a takeover is going through, no business ever invests while ongoing talks are taking place, that would be a sign no deal is to be done. Unfortunately many of our supporters what information every day, it just does not happen when deals like this are in place. Think about it, all these contract that have not been signed yet, no additions yet, silence, it is not rocket science that a deal is close. NW new about this when he took over of course he did, certain players and agents new about it of course they did. Lets all be patient, lets all stop moaning, lets all stop rumour mongering, LETS ALL STICK TOGETHER. Kevin keighley, leeds 50 years {Ed013's Note - As it goes, we've had our ups and downs!}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Everyone is now panicking and it doesn't help when LUST and the YEP are just fueling the panic for supporters, doesn't sound like were a club in harmony at the moment when sources that are supposedly above us are sweating on investment/takeover deals not happening,told of players munity, fears of Warnock, we have around 12 playing staff with over half of the injured or refusing to sign new contracts, how much is true well we don't know but it constant speculation doesn't help, it is very very hard to sit quiet and just wait for good or bad news

Morning all,

Is it just me or have the last 10 years taken a serious toll on your optimism? I really worry for the club and firmly believe the next week or two are absolutely pivotal. Status quo is no longer an option and we sit firmly on a knife edge.

If investment comes or a takeover happens, the relief will be unmeasurable and I'm sure the stay away protesters will drip back into a buoyant ER.

But what if it doesn't come? What if this was a smoke screen to waste days and weeks - a money saving option for the powers that be? If this is the case, the lack of forward movement in the championship is in essence a step back measured against the forward steps of those around us.

Even LUSTs release about player unrest has me questioning which side of the fence I now sit. Have the players come to LUST or was this a cleverly pitched price of propaganda in the long running battle with KB to gain more support.

Either way, sit tight lads because we never do things the easy way

Just read the below story about Ross mcormack who should remember in a few years time if he came out with the same line 'do you know who I am' ? Will be followed by 'no but I know who you used to be!' it's a short lived career and he should remember just exactly who pays his wages. If this is true I'm disgusted. I remember one Vinnie Jones who always had time for everyone who talked to him and respected the fans that payed his wages. Now he could say to anyone all over the world 'do you know who I am'? The difference is he wouldn't. Phil Bramley

Heres a true story of poverty for you all....
There's no wonder Ross McCormack is wanting away, he must be on terrible wages at Leeds. He was in Blockbuster this week returning four DVDs that were so overdue his late fine came to a staggering £16!! He told the lad behind the counter he wasn't going to pay that kind of money. The lad did what he could then said that the computer would only half the fine at the most, so £8 please... To which McCormack replied "F*ck that, do you know who I am?" and threw the DVDs over the counter and stormed off.
The lad, who is my mates son, knew only too well who he was as it takes him FIVE hours to earn the money to buy just one ticket to see McCormack play.
Even on his poor Leeds wages I wonder how long it takes McCormack to earn £16.
Buckle up Ross. When you play for Leeds United you are representing the Club, the City and therefor the people here. Next time you're arguing about money with your agent remember just how lucky you are!!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Utter b*llocks. He has no connection with Leeds and he's a career footballer.

If you want the best players you have to pay the going rate for them. If not they'll go elsewhere. Fact of life, get over it. One club players like Kelly, Scholes & Carragher didn't just stay for love of the club. The stayed because they were properly rewarded by clubs which showed ambition and wanted to win things. Do you really see that happening at Leeds with Bates at the helm?

If one of your employer's competitors offered loads more money to go work for them would you say no? If so either you're lying or you're very stupid. And how would you explain a decision like that to your family?

Grow up. There is more to life than Leeds United even for a season ticket holder like me who's been going for 42 years (before you tell me I'm not a true fan just because I have some perspective on real life).

The problem at Leeds United is Bates who treats players and fans with contempt and keeps people like you onside with his 'great businessman' bullish*t. That's why we lost Beckford, Johnson, Howson, Kilkenny and will no probably lose McCormack, Snoddy and Clayton.

Agree7 Disagree8

Ok big man, i bow down to your superiority as ive only been going to ER 35 years compared to your 42. I understand he's a career footballer. I understand that he needs to go with the money. But in your blinkered fit of rage you seemed to miss my point. And it being that while McCormack wears a Leeds United shirt he is a representative of that club. He may be on a crap wage compared to other footballers but he doesnt earn £6.45 an hour and work in a video shop. This does not give him the right to treat other people less fortunate than himself like dirt. Of all the promising young lads to get signed by a professional club very very few actually get to where he is. Read the comment above about 'famous' peoples behaviour.
And get over yourself with your Bates-hate. I beleive in him as much as you do big guy, which is a big fat zero!! The difference between me and you is that im happy with myself and life and dont need to spit bile at others.

Yes - it's true - I am angry about Bates because all I see is players walking, leaks saying how unhappy the players are, the crowds diminishing, really poor football and idiots like you and me paying the 5th highest ticket price in the country.

I don't think I was being bilious though - just stating that I think your sarcasm is misplaced and that McCormack wanting a few more quid isn't the problem.

Footballers are well paid, but so are lawyers, doctors and whole load of other people. He's not that lucky or he'd be playing for big money in the premiership. Footballers also make a lot of sacrifices to keep fit enough to play at that level.

A lot of people on here are targeting the 'greedy players' and maybe some are asking for more than they're worth, but the fact remains that if we offer less than other clubs we'll lose our best players.

And for the record I have a very happy nice life thank you!

Agree0 Disagree0

I've just re-read this - are you saying this is actually a true story? I thought you were making this up to make a sarcastic point about players wanting more money.

If this is actually true then I apologise humbly and profusely and agree 100% that he's a tw@t!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yup. Its true. No tall tales. No sarcasm intended. My mates lad is mortified at what happened. A 20 year old scratching a living in what he admits is a poorly paid job ( see the unemployment figures for 18-25 year olds, he's just glad he's earning and paying his board) and someone earning a footballers wage (albeit a Leeds United footballers wage) treats him like that. He came with us to six matches last year because thats all he could afford, we even paid for a few of them but he was too proud to accept charity. Meets one of his heroes, was hoping for a photo and a handshake.
I agree with you wholeheartedly about what you say about footballers and money, we all do the best we can for the most brass, but my post was intended as a comment on his arrogance, perhaps a little clumsy.
Thanks for the apology but there was no need mate, no offence taken, this is a banter site after all.
We're all in this together and its a very frustrating time for all us fans.
If you go in the NE Lower next term ill get you a pint and we can moan about it all then.
Cheers
M {Ed013's Note - If you saw one of my posts a while back I mentioned that he wasn't a team player. I can't take away that he had a good season, but the snub to Simon Grayson when he got the winner against Burnley sticks in my head. All he wanted to do was point to his own name on the back of his shirt. He doesn't stick around for autographs either. I cant say I am shocked by the incident}

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, i remember that goal very well (see the reply to the feller who married a Dutch woman). I guess I shouldnt be surprised at his behaviour but in reality I am. Over the years we've all met loads of players past and present and they all seemed happy to swap a few words and shake hands. Once, a long time ago i had to fake it and hide in a night club to shake off 'Mr Cool" himself, Brian Deane as he wouldnt leave us alone!!! Ha ha, those were the days.

I don't post on here often but read with interest the posts you all put on - in reference to the takeover of LUFC we all need to be patience and let this happen, (it will) what we all know of KB is that this talk of takeover would have given him great satisfaction is quashing this rumour and killing our spirits whether via YEP or the radio. The timing of Warnocks holiday was arranged last year in preparation for this new investment, next week will be a big week for all of us

My wife tells me " i need to get out more, get a life and stop spending so much time on the net reading about Leeds Utd, the takeover, transfer rumours, the exciting times ahead, watching Leeds on Youtube when there are jobs to do round the house, there are more important things than football and Leeds Utd, oh and why did i buy a bl###y IPAD when we have a Laptop". But my darling wife I reply there is nothing more important then Leeds Utd, the greatest club in the world, the greatest fans, i am proud to be Leeds fan and im excited yet apprehensive, a little, at the current situation of our club, im longing for a answer to the takeover/investment, i want to see what players i will be able to watch in the famous white shirt next season, thats why i am on the net every day, and in regards to the IPAD, do i complain when you buy a new handbag when you have a wardrobe full -no i dont !! (Ive got England in the sweep at work for the Euros so the new season really cant come soon enough, my wifes Dutch so we will be following Holland, shes is related to Vandersar but that another story !) Can't help but feel a lot of hatred developing just the type of hatred to put would be investors off why doesn't everyone just chill out and let things take their course ok if Colin goes we know things are not right truth is bates rescued our club when no one else gave a s**t we were laughed at people wanted to see the great Leeds united end but bates stepped in too many people forget that I think bates as taken us as far as he is willing and god willing he will find us an investor just as he did Chelsea a lot of people got short memories TO THE PROMISED LAND AND BEYOND

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Bates did not rescue the club out of the goodness of his neart, he saw an investment opportunity.
Sinnyboy.

Agree1 Disagree0

What relevance has that got......he's a business man for gods sake! People need to realise that as a business man, bates (or anyone else for that matter) has a completely different mindset and priorities to us fans. Does it even matter that he saw us as an investment, the fact still remains that he rescued us when nobody else would and we were about to go under. Some people like to bury their heads in the sand and don't believe that simply because they hate bates......those people need to grow up. I worked there at the time (in the commercial dept) and know just how close we came to going under with no prospect of being rescued

Al1977

HE DID NOT SAVE US. He put the club into administration in the first place and then manipulated the process. He's vermin and we need him out of our club.

What's all the fuss over aidy white about? from the outside looking in why does everyone think he's some superstar? Hes got the potential to be a good champ/low prem player at very best. flog him and get some decent compensation I say!! {Ed013's Note - He is now out of contract and will bring in around 1.5 million in compensation if he goes to a club in England. If he goes outside of England, like he is rumoured to be, then Leeds will only receive up to 400K for him}

I have no rumours to pass on, just sounding off - this week or so has been one of the longest - and possibly one of the hardest - as a Leeds fan. All hope that it was a takeover in the making has now been dampened to a naming rights deal at best. But the worst of it all has been the revelations that Bates, yet again, is prepared to drain our club dry for the sake of a personal vendetta. And now some of the players are making their discontent known. if there is/are bidder(s) interested in Leeds, it's time to put up or shut up. If there aren't any interested parties, us fans need to think long and hard about how we can best support our club, now & in the years to come. We are better than this. We are better than Bates. We are Leeds United. MOT
