Does any one else agree that Beattie must take some credit with Wood's form this season? He played a similar style to Wood so must have spent a lot of time together and his advise for Wood looks to be paying off.

Trainers will always have an impact but I think it might be about giving Evans some praise to be fair. He put Wood and Doukara on strict diet and fitness regimes last term after saying both weren't in good enough shape, and fair play he led by example and lost a lot too, both have come back this year looking a lot fitter, stronger and sharper for it.

Also helps that the team is getting forward more as a unit. Agree Beatie has helped as theh have more aggression to their play and fitness plays a big part. But you could put Saurez up front and he would not be much good if everyone else was on half way line. Think biggest thing is whole team has belief in themselves and their ability. Think Monk and Clotet need to be thanked for that.

think it is a culmination of things, beattie may of helped (although wood has always been a real threat at this level) , I think it is more down to fact wood was injured and unfit and in bad form, now he is fitter and uninjured we are seeing the real wood (although he was top scorer last season something that many miss) this coupled with us playing better attacking football has given us a truer picture of the our top striker. this said some with great knowledge and footballing brain have always stood by our wood.

Granted wood has improved a bit and looks fitter. But let's not get ahead of ourselves. He maybe our top striker but he still misses lots. A good striker scores goals in a bad team. If he was unfit and injured for last season someone else should have played and we may have scored more goals. We will never know. I am happy he is playing better and in a lot better team and he maybe our top striker but prolific and clinical, he ain't.

Th Woodmeister will improve. He's got his best years ahead of him. He does seem to suffer with confidence and it can severely affect his game. I appreciate he misses a lot but we've seen enough very good goals from him to realise he is a real talent. (Derby away last season, Sheff Weds away this season and the overhead kick at ER) . Still the main man for me. MM.

Might sniff out the odd goal or two for us. I say go for it if we can afford his 15 shillings a week wage.

15 shillings. Not sure grip. Is it wise to be free and and easy with big money? Looks like a bench warmer at best.

come on guys, stop with all this aus mikey taking. He's only just been potty trained so doesn't have full understanding of the concept of time yet. May also explain why he doesn't have a grasp of the English language. Leave him alone please.

This would be my dream January transfer window: Sign sacko, Bartley and pontus to 3 and half year deals. Sign hernandez to 1 and a half year deal with a 1 year extension - quality player but can he still have the same influence in the prem? That's why the shorter seal with the extension option. Sell murphy and diaguora. Bring a left back in for competition to Taylor and loan Denton out for experience. Now comes the unrealistic part. I thing a new attacking midfielder-a number so we have competition their too. I'm thinking Tom Ince. And a new striker. Brit assombalongo. Powerful and scores plenty! This would be my dream. MOT.

Couldn't agree more plum, especially about Assombalonga. Get pontus, Bartley, sacko and hernandes deals done and Assombalonga and I'd put my house on us getting to the promised land.

Contracts mean nothing George, we just need to get his head turned and get the dough out .

Lancs Disagree because what it will mean is a very big transfer fee. He's a very good player. Factor in a 5 year deal can't see getting much change out of a 9m fee. Don't think we have that kind of dough right now.
