Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

Whilst I hate to admit I was right, the fact is, as stated on many occasions before the start of the season, we are an out and out goalscorer short, we also let Morison go back to Millwall, for what? So Noel Hunt could sign. do me a favour (I am not against Noel Hunt signing, infact I rated him before the season started, and still believe he can come good, but not at Morison's expense!).

Morison should have been given a chance.

Yes it's easy to say now, and likelihood is, had we been winning and strikers had been scoring plenty then you wouldn't have heard from me, but the fact is it hasn't happened and I was right.

From performances though, I do feel we are more than just a winger and goalscorer short, we concede way too many silly goals, Tom Lees hasn't been quite as solid as I had expected (hoped), I mentioned Richard Dunne (QPR) and Matthew Upson (Brighton) as both solid, reliable, centre backs we should have been looking to sign, as it happens both have been in top form for their respective clubs (yes I know Brighton haven't performed well this season, but speaking to local Brighton fans it seems Upsom has been one of, if not, their best player).

I'm well aware the funds oviously weren't in place, but they are supposedly coming in now and it is time McDermott was allowed a free reign in both the current loan market and in January, for an initial mini squad overhaul, still plenty of dead wood IMO that needs to be got rid of.

Anyway I have finished giving my long winded opinion and am hoping on return of the international break things will improve, both on the transfer front and on the pitch.

On the Morison thing, I am glad he went, he didn't want to be here in the first place and he is hardly setting Millwall on fire is he. How the hell did anybody see that as a good deal??

Agree0 Disagree0

Your having a laugh, are you colin in disguise, a completely past it upson and old man dunne with the turning circle of an oil tanker. it looks likie you where wrong actually.
also morison has been garbage for 2 years now, please do all of us whites a favour and never go into management or transfer advisor at elland road.

Scoops, I never once said Morison was good business, merely that he should have been given a chance rather than being shipped out so soon. Barndoor Billy was given more of a chance than Morison. somehow!

Snoopy, Upson has been Brighton's best player this season (opinions of actual Brighton fans), Dunne has been a tank for QPR, why do we always need youth to get us up, it doesn't work like that, experience is just as essential and necessary. Oh and QPR are 2nd, having conceded just 2 goals in 10 league games, Oh and them 2 games they conceded he didn't play, coincidence? I doubt it! Know your stats before writing off other players mate! QPR Haven't conceded a single goal when Richard Dunne has played. FACT!

Sussex, apologies if you misunderstood my good business comment. I wasn't criticising, it was a rhetorical outburst of general frustration.

Agree0 Disagree0

I Hear you sussex, but the old and experienced thing took us back 2 years colin showed us that.
seriously we need players who will run through walls like austin, byram, mccormack, diouf, all a good age and not slow.
And as for brighton fans saying upson is there best player shows how poor brighton are to watch when a CB is the best they have.
We are Leeds We play football

Scoops, I completely understand your frustration, we should be aiming better than Morison in the first place, but seeing as we didn't I feel he should have been given the chance.

Snoopy, I guess, as always, football is all about opinions, personally I feel one of the aforementioned would have been ideal for our defence, they would bring on players like Lees, Pearce and even Wooton now (assuming he still joined), plus ad some much needed solidarity to our defence.

judging by the Brighton comments I wouldn't say you were far wrong with that assessment ;-)

for next game I would go
kenny-gk

byram-rwb

lees-cb
pearce-cb
wooton-cb

white-lwb

green-cm
austin-cm
mowatt-cm

mccormack-st
poleon-st

this as width and pace

Believable0 Unbelievable0

You are changing the formation. that's what it will take for BMD to give us width and pace with the curent set of players.

I don't see it happeneing, as White doesn't appear to be getting a game.

I would consider Dawson for Green in that line up with Walters on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

Every time I have seen white play this Eason he has done alright

Agree0 Disagree0

I rate White and Dioufy, but they both don't appear to be rated by BMD

Which means pace and creativity are not given the chance.

Any ways, we will see.

Agree0 Disagree0

If anything their not rated by brian. Their never chosen just like poleon. This needs to change. Drop hunt to bench or even reserves and bring in poleon and Walters

Agree0 Disagree0

Poleon do me a favour, he spend's more time hiding than trying to get the ball. well over rated

Are the players under-performing or are they just not good enough for top 6? Think about Burnley before you answer!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Burnley have a balanced team

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither! We don't yet have a striker who can bang them in or wingers. We are therefore missing components. Until it changes we are predictable in our play leaving us prone to conceding goals.

Agree0 Disagree0

Predictable is correct. We picked up points very early in the season, but now all the teams have sussed us out.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not concerned about top six but the bottom three. We can't score and we concede goals. Simple sometimes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Burnley have 2 out and out strikers.
tell me who our out and out striker is who can score?

I'd like to see the likes of Killock, Walters etc go out on loan for a month to give them a taste of real competitive first team football, just to see how they cope. What do you guys think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Actually mate. I think Walters should be given a couple of first team games with us first. See how he does. No point loaning him out if he turns out to be a jewel! And let's face it. He can't do any worse than the current crop. Can he?

Killock, Dawson, Walters, get em all in the squad and phase them in, what is there to lose. I would much rather see them that the likes of Brown, Pugh, Norris. Cairns as well, let them grow together, they are the future.

Does anyone know the answer to this: if Brian wanted to give young Lewis Walters a go would he have to wait until January because if squad submission and all that?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

No players under the age of 21 don't have to be registered.

Teej

Agree0 Disagree0

No. January only applies for bringing in actual transfers

Lewis Walters is already a Leeds Utd player. It's the same situation with Alex Mowatt. Youth squad players can make the step up at any time the manager deems fit

Good shout on Walters though. I reckon he good get a few but think Poleon will always be the youngster getting more games

Walters always impressed me in the development squad and under 18s matches I've watched.

Also wouldn't mind seeing Leninghan be given a shot

Crmd

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be a good, heard a lot f good things about the lad. just wasn't sure with the 25 man squad submission thing. What's Lenighan like? And I hope poleon gets more starts let him et into the tempo of the game with his pace he's bound to get himself on goal at least once or twice a game.
