Baz my pal, in answer to your post, Coventry have their cup semi final to think about which might help us and Middlesbrough will have a couple of players short as we loaned them Ayling and Greenwood so they will be disjointed all of which might help us Baz my mate. My concern is this international break which always seems to affect us somehow, either by injuries or poor form after the break, if Wales go out are the Welsh contingent going to have a hangover through the disappointment or will it push them on to get Leeds promoted? Is Georginio going to be fit in time from his operation, and obviously if we have a blip then we really don’t have enough games to pull it round! It’s got to be a continuation of what’s happened in the last 13 Championship games, it is totally in our hands 👍👍👍🙏🙏.

19 Mar 2024 19:41:52
Woody
yep but Cov going for promotion via playoffs and the huge EPL riches

As for Boro they will be well up for it against Leeds

Rutter injury is a huge concern.

19 Mar 2024 07:11:50
Joe Rodon and Ethan Ampadu at centre-back for Leeds:

Mins Played: 1,170
Matches: 13
Games Won: 12
Goals Conceded: 3
Goals Conceded From Open Play: 0
Clean Sheets: 10

Ampadu and Rodon have now played 19.5 hours of football at CB without conceding a single goal from open play.

Agree6 Disagree0

19 Mar 2024 08:42:36
As useful as he can be in mid. With gray Gruev and kamara, Amps is rooted there now.

19 Mar 2024 12:56:13
Great stats them Brighty thanks for sharing them mate. I am loving this Leeds team mate and I hope and pray we don’t make the same mistake as we did with Ben White, Rodon gets Leeds and the fans, he’s got to stay and Ampadu, well what can I say, an absolute star 🌟 and what a bargain eh, we could have 3 of him for what we paid for that melt BA! Immense both of them and great post Brighty 👍👍.

19 Mar 2024 14:13:17
Always thought of Amps as more of a ball playing CB anyway. Saw him play some great games there for Spezia last season. It's just his innate versatility which has allowed him to play well in DM too. I prefer him at CB as he get more time on the ball for his vertical passing.

19 Mar 2024 15:53:56
I think ampadu is a defensive mid and I think he was bought as such. He has played in that position for Wales recently.
It just happened struijk has been out so long and we have just clicked that he is just fallen into cb.
By how he spoke at the start of the season he sees himself in midfield. I don't know if he will be happy in the long run at cb. But we know more and better defenders are needed if we go up.
By the way I just read an article on amps on the BBC site about how he will be the youngest Wales player to reach 50 caps in the Finland game. All the Wales players and staff agree he will be their next captain.

19 Mar 2024 16:49:23
Has played more games at CB throughout his career Ben mate. Playing there now for us, played there for Sheff United, played there for Spezia and the minimal games he got at Leipzig were all at CB.

Last season he played there all season for Spezia and was their best defensive player (more noticeably after Kiwior left) . He's versatile and gets deployed at DM as he's more than capable, but I really think his best position is as a ball playing CB. He breaks the line easily, reads the game well and can play vertical passes to his hearts content, while under little pressure. He's definitely press resistant enough for DM, but just means he's a little more rushed picking a pass out. Seems to find better ones more consistently from CB.

19 Mar 2024 19:32:48
I'm just going on what the man said dill. From what he said when he arrived he preferred dm and was enjoying getting to play there.
Thing is if we get into the prem we might find amps is not physical enough for a regular cb. Ben White got found out at arsenal got bullied at cb.
I do prefer amps in midfield as he can always drop and cover cb and i like his drive in midfield.

With all their money and lawyers they will probably get them!

18 Mar 2024 19:42:51
In the Championship in 2024, Gio has created the most chances in open play (26) , made the most successful take-ons (42) , won the most duels (118) , played the most through balls (13) and won the most fouls (33) of any player.
Don't like that phrase "won fouls": he has been fouled more than any other player!

Let's hope he recovers from surgery in time for good Friday!

18 Mar 2024 20:22:02
Love the positivity and knowledge in your posts! Reading them make me nod in agreement and make grumblerly apporval noises. long may this continue.

18 Mar 2024 21:23:46
I no we paid a good price for gio but he is turning into a hell of a player.
If we did not have him we would have scored a lot less goals.
And his enthusiasm and exuberance in the team must be infectious.
I read he is going to have a hernia sorted in the international break. Hope it goes well as we will need him for those last games.

18 Mar 2024 22:13:34
Didn't Struijk also get a hernia and we are still awaiting his return? What is it with all the hernias?

18 Mar 2024 22:55:12
Given our medics records Gio Rutter will be out for minimum 4 weeks possibly 6 even possibly rest of season

At least we have a CAM to replace him. oh wait.

19 Mar 2024 01:44:15
So then you are saying he's another girlish .

19 Mar 2024 02:44:59
We got Piroe baz.

19 Mar 2024 06:28:19
Brightwhite thanks for the info on that mate. 👍.

19 Mar 2024 06:42:30
I believe Pasc’s was a little more complicated, with an accompanying abductor tear. Don’t know enough about Gio’s, but know there is a large scale of hernia variations and severity. Hopefully his is a very minor, keyhole solution!

19 Mar 2024 08:44:27
Apparently Rutter’s hernia problem is not complicated and only requires minor surgery. There is a good chance even he’ll be available for the Watford game.
He’s been playing with this hernia strain for the last three weeks and it has affected his full fitness.

I believe they penciled in the international break as a opportunity to have this minor surgery so that we don’t lose him for too many games.
I imagine the Hull game will be more realistic for his return.

19 Mar 2024 09:39:54
Gio has also lost possession 894 times this season with 62% in his own half.
Gio has scored six goals.
Maybe stats are misleading?

19 Mar 2024 12:07:45
Fair point Corky. As always, any stat can be flipped on its head, to tell the opposite tale, or an entirely different story. Depends on the story you want to tell.

19 Mar 2024 12:56:37
Exactly Bright.
The point I’m trying to make is if Gio keeps playing the way he is and losing the ball in midfield we will be in right strife against better opponents in the top flight, obviously if n when we get there.
He can be a joy to watch but so so frustrating at times. Maybe the manager tells him to play as he likes as most Championship teams will not punish you?
And he really needs to work on his shooting!

19 Mar 2024 12:58:52
Worth considering Cork, however, I would defer to the outcomes derided from the stats.

As a perceived positive you could argue successful take ons made, do not always result in a chance made or goal scored.

But having the best assist record in the league has led to goals points, losing possession 62% of the time in our own half not great but we know (certainly) since the start of the year, we have not conceded from open play.

But as Brighty says statistics can be read very differently but I believe on goals created alone by Gio his own relevantly low goals count and loss of possession in our half are traits I’m happy to continue with to season end.

19 Mar 2024 13:15:20
Agree 100 class.
We all got jobs. But bottom line is what we paid for.
Is it a bad thing Dj, gnonto, Jimmy etc etc haven’t saved a penalty this year? Or should they not had to.
All good being a team game right. But attacking player don’t generally save goals and defenders don’t generally score goals.
Cork. Sorry mate. U r wrong.
I’d rather Gio deliver in attacking half than defensive.

19 Mar 2024 14:18:55
Have never been in doubt of Georgi's talents. Defended him until blue in the face on twitter last season saying he never got enough game time or opportunity to show us what he can actually do. I said he was our most dynamic player and got laughed at by some idiots who don't know ball. Glad he's proved the naysayers wrong and happy I was vindicated.

All it took was a good manager and a run of games for him to showcase his talents. Cracking young player, who's only going to get better.

19 Mar 2024 16:05:31
Corks he's still young and yes he tries too much and probably holds on to the ball to long but he'll learn.
With his shooting I think he need to stop trying to kick the leather off the ball every time he shoots but again he'll calm. It is his first season playing this many first team games and his first over here.
I think if he gets a run in the prem he will find the defending different not as physical and desperate to win the ball.

19 Mar 2024 16:10:07
I rely on what I see on the pitch, stats are misleading whether they are good or bad.
It’s a fair point about losing the ball too often, but we are in the Championship and not the Premiership, I think that’s the way Farke and his coaching staff want him to play in this league, it’s possibly slightly more forgiving which makes him more effective as his assists account proves. and also the havoc he can create in our opponents half.

In the Premiership I’m sure his role maybe less flamboyant and more controlled as to not lose possession a bit like Grealish with Pep.
What you see of Rutter is not the finished product, with maturity he will be more controlled and I’m certain his goal tally will rise with that.

19 Mar 2024 17:15:18
That’s a good point too OP. How many times do we watch a match, then see some stats about something particular, and think “eh? What game was that? Wasn’t what I watched! ”.

19 Mar 2024 19:57:18
Yes bright good point.
The thing to remember as well with gio when he loses the ball he chases to win it back.
He is not a player that loses it and throws his hands up.
He always does his defensive duties.

20 Mar 2024 07:19:24
I think the Gio we see next season, will have matured a little, strengthened a lot, and will be a force to be reckoned with in the PL, should we get there.

Present him with the trophy 🏆 Bright.

18 Mar 2024 18:59:15
The captain of the national side won for the 3rd year running, with Ilia a very commendable second, interestingly for the second year running! Still great recognition for the lad on the back of a Fantastic season to date. First prize next year hopefully!

18 Mar 2024 19:00:25
Whitey, I think they have to be in the PL for them to punish them, so that one will be waiting for Foxes if they get promoted! Nice!

18 Mar 2024 19:06:43
Just 6 points Neverton

Noe Florost just 4 points. all seems uber lenient.

18 Mar 2024 20:03:20
Lenient is not the word.
It’s not a punishment, four points is easily retrievable, it’s sending the wrong message to the potential offenders of FFP. It’s probably worth breaking the rules if you only receive a four point deduction.
A waste of time.

18 Mar 2024 20:21:16
White, forest are deducted points this season for breaking the rules in last seasons accounts.
Leicester may break the rules this season so will be punished next season.

18 Mar 2024 20:41:45
Totally agree OP 4 points of 6 points penalty is no deterrent

And what is this about possibly having any appeal decision made 5 days after end of season .

19 Mar 2024 06:47:25
Canada. The PL can’t punish Leicester unless they are in their league.

19 Mar 2024 09:58:47
Neither can EFL, just as Vile!

19 Mar 2024 11:25:06
Canadawhite thanks mate for the info👍.

18 Mar 2024 12:01:07
So we have caught the incatchable and the fab 4 are down to the thrilling 3, feel it's too much and too late for Southampton to be involved. DF just has to be lauded for what he has achieved in 38 games. To be a successful manager you need to be proficient in so many aspects it would give a plate spinner vertigo and his man management is second to none, the guy is a legend already and I have no doubt given the resources and support he needs we will be competitive in the prem. I predict a riot in May, just in time for me 59th birfday 😁.

Agree5 Disagree0

18 Mar 2024 12:20:00
If Southampton win their 2 games in hand they are just 3 points behind Leeds.

18 Mar 2024 12:54:40
Hmmmm, an if my auntie had bollox she would be me uncle. Points in the bag please every time, especially now the pressure is really on 😁.

18 Mar 2024 12:54:46
I reckon Vid has had a bet😉.

18 Mar 2024 13:10:21
Agree points in bag is a better position of course.

We shall find out soon enough though Vid if you were far too presumptuous in your dismissal of Saints.

18 Mar 2024 15:05:43
Hopefully we can carry on our good form into the next three games as think they will be tough games. Luckily the other teams in the top 4 have some tough games left to play (as well as against each other and teams in the top 7) . A few have to play Boro as well so hopefully Bill can help us out 🤞.

18 Mar 2024 15:20:08
And that perhaps you were far too presumptuous that we would never make automatic promotion let alone win this league.
But hey what do I know, maybe we completely bail out in these last eight games for the autos and collapse in the playoffs to end up with nothing.?

18 Mar 2024 15:25:57
Hopefully not OP . but it wouldn't be the first time of happening as you well know.

18 Mar 2024 15:32:19
It’s also worth noting that Southampton have to play us Leicester and Ipswich all away and you’d have to presume that they would have to win all these six pointer games. Likely? well if they do they definitely deserve to be promoted in my opinion.

18 Mar 2024 15:32:34
Well Baz, seeing as Saints still have to play Leicester and Ipswich if you are right they will aid us and still at best be 3 points behind then have to beat us by a mammoth score at ER 😁.

18 Mar 2024 15:39:04
Easter can be make or break as we well know. Two victories would be most welcome. Anyway, let's enjoy the calm before the storm!

18 Mar 2024 16:00:00
Fair comments Vid and OP on Saints having 3 extremely difficult away fixtures at Leeds, Ipswich and Leicester.

18 Mar 2024 17:34:24
Wouldn't rule anyone out at this stage as the champo is terribly unpredictable, but for all intents and purposes, they have some catching up to do. Is it doable? In my opinion, unlikely, but you never know. Just make sure we keep winning and it won't be an issue.

18 Mar 2024 17:50:00
True Dill, but the big thing is time and games are running out, draws are now killers, only victories will do, plus you need favours from other teams, really quick batch of games over/ just after Easter and if the gap has not closed significantly it's so difficult with a handful of games left.

18 Mar 2024 19:01:40
Those games in hand are squeezed into a very hectic run in, which we, as yet, do not have to face.

18 Mar 2024 11:07:45
Just watched the game (back from Mrs Class birthday weekend) and what a superbly measured performance against a team who give new meaning to the word dark arts! But love our skinny little fighter Gruev who never shirks a battle.

How a referee and his two assistants could not arrive at a correct decision of a penalty (GBH) and dismiss Jake Cooper beggars belief.

But I’m with Ani and his excellent assessment that discussing contentious decisions is still far more preferable to stop start VAR fiasco in the epl who still get as many decisions wrong as right.

My reason for writing is in praise of Farley’s tactical change. Think it’s fair to say we’ve been (deliberately) conservative in our approach play in particular since Amps has gone into the back line, rather than tearing into opponents we are more Citeh like in passing sideways in and around our 18 yard box, and appear to go backwards when it seems we are in a strong position to attack?

I believe Farkey realised teams had worked us out previously in particular with a low block and now, either before, and then even more so after our first goal we hold onto the ball in and around our eighteen yard box and say to the opposition here’s the ball you’ll have to come up here to get it though.

Now admittedly it can be frustrating and plays havoc with my old ticker but it’s working as it creates pockets of space for Gio to exploit and with amps range of passing and bam bams willingness to run in behind it sews doubt into the oppositions defence to go tight or drop off.

Again, not the prettiest at times and not without risk of getting caught in possession but it’s working, and if it works until the final game then all hail mr farkes genius to adapt and play differently.

Special mention for Gio yesterday who along with Amps and Rodon is probably now irreplaceable and does what no other player in the division can do.

Mot but one game at a time I’m not underestimating just how tough this league and every game is to win.

Agree8 Disagree0

18 Mar 2024 11:49:50
Interesting post Class
BUT that tactic definitely has significant risks when it is level especially .

. to be frank 1st half against some teams away this year we could/ should have been 1 or 2 goals down in 1st half

Leeds have at times been awful in their slow ponderous play 1st half and very lucky to get away with it!

18 Mar 2024 12:21:18
Good post and explanation of going from attack to our back line. You maybe right. It def is frustrating to watch. But. We are looking assured and nigh on unbeatable at the moment. The last couple games I never once thought we would lose. We control games most of the time, in possession and out.
Wall were appalling skill wise and dirty too.
But you would have to use the dirty word re ref. I’m convinced he got a pay off yesterday. That thuggery in penalty area has to be reviewed.
It’s going to be a roller coaster. But we in control. Any 2 from 4 still.

18 Mar 2024 12:29:44
Being top of the league Baz must be very difficult for you to swallow I imagine, given your impressive predictions. 😉
You never took into consideration the situation that severely hampered the start of our season and that obviously away games would be more challenging until our team would pick up its full momentum.
You totally underestimated Farke and the players we have, you completely berated the club for not buying more and more players in January and now that is fully vindicated that it was not necessary, especially when we’ve won almost every game since January 1st.

I could go on but I’m bored and need to walk the dog.

18 Mar 2024 12:44:17
Delighted Leeds are top of League OP and hopefully Leeds will go up OP.

But hold your horses just yet. facts are 3 other teams have virtually the same points . so whilst it has been a fabulous 2024 for results so far . it will count for nothing if we don't go up

Some on here have erronously ruled out Ipswich and now Saints .

18 Mar 2024 13:17:08
If you read my posts properly you will see that I am very humble about where we are because I know in football anything can change. I can also tell from the interviews with the players, they also understand that we have achieved nothing yet until the last game of the season is concluded.
I still stay with my forecast that I made at the beginning of the season that we will win this league, I do believe Class also made that same forecast if I’m not wrong.
Onwards and Upwards.

18 Mar 2024 13:57:58
Come on Baz “Virtually 3 other teams have the same points” what sort of a statement is that? That has got to be one of the most nonsensical things you’ve posted, Leicester yes but Ipswich and Southampton no, and as Vid says I would rather have the points on the board! That as well as the run we are on, no one else is apart from maybe Ipswich. Come on Baz, it is what it is and we are it mate so happy days for all the rose tinted boys 👍👍👍👍👍👍.

18 Mar 2024 14:49:51
My dear Woody

re read my post and then your post ; I stated ' 3 other teams have virtually the same points '

Leicester identical ( with one game in hand ) .

Ipswich one point behind ( so virtually identical. )

Southampton. ok 9 points behind. but 2 games in hand . if they win those 3 points behind out of 81 ( virtually identical )

But yes looking much more promising than 2 months ago.

18 Mar 2024 15:36:31
Yes, OP, had two bets, with one to go up as champions and another automatic promotion, BUT, in agreement re maintaining a humble quiet disposition until the weight watchers lady finally sings, as nothing is certain other than a resolute belief in Farkey and the boys, but in football parlance (especially with refs like yesterday) one game at a time, let’s see where it takes us.

18 Mar 2024 15:50:16
It’s all nit picking just enjoy where we are no matter your right I am wrong team I am always wrong so what that’s how the world goes round have a 😃 happy day for all surely, but Baz is right🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

18 Mar 2024 16:17:38
Yes! 😂🤣 Naturally. You know it Whitey 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣.

18 Mar 2024 17:15:41
If nitpicking is the game, someone needs to review the definition of “identical”.
No such thing as virtually identical. As Master Yoda would say; “ It is, or is not! ”.

18 Mar 2024 17:38:22
Great post, class. Playing lateral and horseshoe passing patterns is a good way to stretch play and draw out low blocks. We can't always penetrate effectively playing vertically, as much as we would all like us to. It's generally smart play as long as its used in conjunction with trying progressive stuff, rather than it being either or.

18 Mar 2024 17:43:13
Bright 😂we are all on the same side🤣🤣.

18 Mar 2024 18:37:29
Brighty Yoda.

I wrote in my initial post 'virtually the same' ( which is 100 % correct)

By the way having just checked with Collins dictionary and Cambridge dictionary. the collocation ' virtually identical ' does exist, is permissable and is terminology to use also.

18 Mar 2024 19:07:55
Lol! I just knew you’d look it up Baz. The English language just ain’t what it used to be!

18 Mar 2024 19:10:17
Ah, but it’s a collocation, which is tantamount to “by ‘eckers like” having a definition too. These millennials who have created a plethora of sexes will destroy our once fine language!

18 Mar 2024 20:04:39
Brighty 😀

Seeing as you like to quote Yoda :

The following is apt:

' Always pass on what you have learned ' 😉.

My Jack Russel is called Yoda, Baz, so yeah, love both of the little dudes! 😀👍🏻.

19 Mar 2024 08:48:29
taking into account all your predictions guys, about the top four and who plays who and what points we got etc etc, let's just hope that, joe, amps, DJ and connor come back injury free from international duty. or we could be up a the creek without a paddle.

Watching replays of Gnonto goal the word Yeboahish has entered my head.

Agree2 Disagree0

18 Mar 2024 11:11:43
It waa a good goal certainly.

a routine goal though for the extraordinary talent of King Tony Yeboah.

18 Mar 2024 11:22:40
A tad OTT TM. Damn good goal although not in the Yeboah category.

18 Mar 2024 12:12:45
I said exactly that yesterday Topman.

18 Mar 2024 12:22:27
Not yebs category. But he knows how to score that boy. Give him that.

18 Mar 2024 22:20:30
It wasn't as worldy as some of Yeboah's but the way he took it on and such a sweet strike reminded me of the Ghanaian.

19 Mar 2024 09:33:43
Gnonto is not up to Tony's standards yet with a few years maturing to do. But willy does have the same bullish physique and a little bit of that thunder in his boots.

18 Mar 2024 07:32:29
Maybe Marcelo was 100% correct to continue pursuing DJ in the way he did after all!? He certainly saw something! And massive credit goes to Farke for developing him, and his self belief, as the player himself admits. I now believe he can take him further in the PL too.

Agree4 Disagree0

18 Mar 2024 07:43:11
I don’t think it’s any coincidence that DJ’s form has taken an upturn on the arrival of Herr Farke.
Let’s hope he can now translate this great form into the Premiership, should we go up.

18 Mar 2024 08:48:54
Big improvement in Dj and Gio.
Can he weave his magic wand on Bambi and piroe next. Ta.

18 Mar 2024 10:24:30
More like there was always a good player there who needed to be given a long run of games in his natural position right wing ( not CF)

With currently 12 goals, DJ has surpassed even my pre season prediction of him scoring 10 goals.

18 Mar 2024 11:09:16
He played quite a lot on his right wing position for us but was rarely effective same at Man Utd and on loan at Fulham.
No doubt in my mind that Farke and his coaching staff have ironed out in inefficiencies and now he can assist and score goals.
There’s not much to divide between Gnonto and James, both scoring goals. I feel Willy deserves his place after James had a little dip in form a little while back so doesn’t merit to be dropped.
It’s a pity we can’t start with both of them.
Makes great competition for places when you have both players like this on fire vying for a start.

18 Mar 2024 11:37:46
DJ never given a run of games on RW previously and often on bench though OP

And what's with the " dip in form" nonsense 🤔

Facts are in January 2024 immediately before his injury at Norwich . DJ scored in the 3 previous EPL wins against Birmingam, Preston and Cardiff

DJ was in great form.

18 Mar 2024 12:16:26
Just my assumption, maybe from that mid December period? More likely though I believe it’s probably about DJ’s devastating pace coming on later in the game causes so many problems for the tiring opposition?, but I’m sure you know more than Farke for the reasons why he should start with James over Gnonto.

18 Mar 2024 12:35:27
Yes OP your assumption was wholly erroneous. DJ a man in form

And defenders tired or not is a moot point . as DJ devastating pace is too much for them even start of matches

FACTS are when DJ starts matches he is often the " GO TO MAIN MAN ' to get that crucial first goal early in first half.

18 Mar 2024 13:23:27
I really don’t know if you are being lighthearted and having a bit of fun, or being fiercely serious Baz, whichever, it’s fine by me, I won’t be losing any sleep over it.

I am being factual OP . that peeves you a lot. but it is what it is.

Facts and stats don’t win titles, being smart and outwitting your opponents does.
Think I trust in Farkes choice of match day team sheets than yours Baz, with all due respect.

Gnonto is also “a man on form”. DJ is not displacing him, as he doesn’t deserve to be dropped. The point about DJ and tired legs, is also most certainly not moot.

Absolutely delighted with the result yesterday and all the players gave their 100% to that game. Even playing against opponents who have to succumb to dirty tactics as they know that they can not compete against our quality.
Not withstanding that we also have to deal with the extremely poor quality of referring in this league.
I’m still shaking my head how the ref never awarded a pen for that clear as day foul or thuggery of Cooper on Rodon.
For all the fans who complain about VAR, think again, the fact that we are not mentioning that incident much is acknowledging that we accept it and are used to this very poor standard of refereeing on a consistent basis.
Just because we won the game it’s no reason to be not furious about it.
For certain fans who think we should be winning these games 3 or 4 nil is not about which player should be starting over another or about another player looks sluggish, your answers are in how these type of opponents play against us and the very poor standard of refereeing.

Well done Farke and his boys for giving their upmost in this very difficult and challenging league. 👏🏻.

Spot on OP. That ref needs striking off the ref register as much as Ridsdale did from the directors register! Millwall were appalling in the manner of their approach, and should quite probably been down to 9 by the end. A great win in the face of adversity!

My mate who is a wall fan said I never ever think a ref is in our favour but yesterday it’s clear the ref was a wall fan!

Still normally refs cost us points this year they have but on the whole we’ve beaten 12 men every week!

I agree with most of what you say OP, with the exception of VAR. I would take questionable refereeing over VAR any day. I despise it and what it is doing to the game. Our 2nd would have been ruled out yesterday and Leicester’s 2nd would have stood. VAR was brought in to prevent the obvious mistakes; it fails at that week in week out, plus it now re-refs the non-obvious mistakes on top. Refs make mistakes, but no where near as many that players make each game. I may be sentimental traditionalist, but I prefer to talk about about contentious issues within / about the game rather than a stupid VAR decision that I didn’t see or understand…or didn’t need.

Why rule our second out?

Gio by var standards was off side by a right foot aus.
I for one have not missed var this season. As has been mentioned it may hae given us a couple of extra penalties but so what.
Also it would have slowed down games further when some teams try that anyway.
My thoughts on the rodon pen was that if Joe got more of a definite touch on the ball it would have been given. As it was neither players actually had control of the ball so you could argue that it was a coming together.
Cooper should have been given two yellows though.

What Ben and Ani said.

Why rule out a penalty and a player being sent off?
My opinion is that the ref after probably watching a replay at half time, knew he’d got it wrong, there were several decisions in the second half that he gave our way that clearly were not.
In another scenario that decision could have cost us the three points, what would the sentiment be then?

My feelings are not whether VAR should be in football or not, just the standard of referring being not so blatantly bad, especially in the Championship.

I saw the replay and thought it was level.

Aus was that the knee to the chin or the handball?
Judging by Cooper’s OTT performance in that first half, I would say It was pretty unmistakable that he thought his head was the ball.
No mistake in my mind that Cooper should have been sent off and the ref should go to specsavers or get a different job.
