Just because they make big money, doesn't mean they can't show loyalty, build strong relationships with their coworkers, help each other, be committed to the cause, and care for their objectives. Be leaders without playing. Likewise, it doesn't mean that they do show any of the above qualities!
The money is irrelevant, just an added bonus, to those players, like Coops, like Stuarty, Archie, Amps and a host of others from days past, who are genuinely good characters and good people, who actually feel blessed to do what they do, and be paid for it.
If you speak to ex pros, many say that the most rewarding part of their privileged occupation is the community work they get to do, for FREE.
It also doesn't mean that some of us can't appreciate a good human being when we recognise one, and point it out, without the worn out rhetoric of "so they should, they earn enough, blah, blah, blah. "!

Great post Brighty, it's really nice to hear some refreshing thoughts around this subject.
I always feel there is a misconception about footballers. Yes, some are arrogant and privileged, but there are a large number out there that go to work and just want to go home like tge rest of us. I loved it when Bielsa came in and got the group litter picking, this wasn't necessarily to clean an area. It was to intill realism and for them all to bond and get a sense of togetherness.
I for one feel that DF is very much like that, he almost cones across like a father figure to them after each match, and you can see they are as one.
I for one am happy how this season has gone, promoted or not it's been good and proud to be Leeds.

What a result last night!

Massive game today, as they all are now.

I want to see a higher tempo and plenty of energy. Let's set our stall out early and high press from our attackers to force the opposition. I want to see a lot more vertical passing from our midfielders and defenders and some early crosses today, instead of all the cutbacks where defenders have already overloaded the space. let's have plenty of overlapping from the full backs. And like Ipswich, keep peppering the net with shots instead of giving that extra pass when it's not needed.

Main thing to avoid is becoming pedestrian with our passing once again. The tempo was so slow Tuesday, taking 8 passes instead of 3 or 4 and it's easy for teams to defend with a low block against that. We became too predictable and lacked any urgency.

And let's inject some energy at the right moment. We could have done with a triple substitution a good 20 mins earlier than when Piroe, Joseph and Roberts came on.

Let's have Roberts on the long throws from the off and try win some first balls in the air. We need to be causing havoc in the box off of those long throws. The ball could end up anywhere.

Take the game to Blackburn and put the pressure on Ipswich for the later kick off.

We can do it!, chaps!

Totally agree and need to take advantage of leicester slip up, they still have 2 tricky games.
Would like roberts and Joseph to start and maybe rest kamara and use gray.
Will we ever score from a corner?, going to be crazy and state it will happen today.

We do teams a big favour by playing slow, side passing ball,

Jimmy is way more effective in an uptempo game

Spot on dill. We need the tempo in our game it pulls players out of position and forces defenders into mistakes.
We need a blistering Elland Road start to the game something that Blackburn cannot live with. Get them on the back foot.
Get the fans going and set the tone for the last few games.

Paraphrasing here but he said you can't drop points, only gain them and we gained a point which took us a point closer to the top. He'd love to win every game but it's so difficult to win game after game after game. Teams are difficult to play against at this stage as they either have no pressure (secured EFL status) or they're fighting for something (avoid relegation or going for playoffs) .

Said he's respective of Blackburn as he's not sure what team will turn up. Szmodics is in red hot form for them this season and they are dangerous, as seen against Sunderland a couple of weeks back (5-1) thinks they'll be motivated to show a reaction to big midweek loss.

He said everyone from the last game is in good shape and have had a few extra days now to get fully fit. We're in a much better position than midweek (and 10 days ago) in that regard, mentioned Ampadu, Roberts and Gnonto by name.

He understands the nerves from fans but we're in a good position and our form this year has been the best in the league.

In regards to his in-game management he said he and his staff Tey to be self critical but at the end of the day you never really know what intact a player may have at what time. It's important that he trusts his group of players.

I'm happy with those changes. I do think Piroe has contributed well in his recent sub appearances so hopefully he can do the same from the start. He does get goals so hopefully one (or some) today from him.
