Ipswich V Leeds United Blog with fans interaction

Ipswich V Leeds United, a game that has been of no joy for us for many years. A game that in the first 25 minutes could have been out of site with Ipswich running a riot down the wings and the Leeds defence all over the place. When Ipswich went 1-0 up I honestly thought that this would be a long game! I was of course proven wrong and my pre-match bet of 2-1 to Leeds proved correct.

Noel Hunt summed it up on twitter;

(Great away win today! Starting to find my feet now & hopefully il get better & better!A goal would be nice but it will come I can smell it!!

Our support today was again top class I hope yer happy because ye deserve to be after that trip!! Never stopped singing,fair play to ye #MOT)

I said after the Sheffield game I thought we should have nicked the win, today a draw would have sent us home happy and after 25 minutes no one could argue with us losing, but that's why a game lasts for 90 minutes and credit for the lads for pulling it round and to be fair could have had a few more goals, but so could Ipswich!

Thom Kirwin tweeted;

(Fantastic win for #lufc today. Resilient display and important 3 points, after 12 years of trying at Portman Rd

Undefeated, coming back from behind again, first for Varney, 3 in 4 for Ross, a win at Ipswich, 5th in table)

My hero Lucas Radebe tweeted;

(Great result @LUFC. @Rossmccormack44 on fire. Thx for updates as always. #MOT)

Dom Poleon tweeted;

(Decent win today good shift from everyone)

What is clear to see is all of the players are in this together as are the Staff. Last season we would have lost today. Brian has got the lads as solid as they can and he will know more than anybody that we lack that quality, that experience in defence.
The fans are more together as well, don't get me wrong, every game we have gone 1-0 down you can hear the moans and groans, but there is a sense of hope and belief, but of course everyone has their own opinion.

Jack sent this in;

(Watched it on television and I thought we were very poor in the first half a lot of hoof-ball style clearances were made when we could have controlled and passed. I was screaming at Kenny for booting it out at every goal kick. However we did well and of course went on to win the game with another amazing goal by McCormack.

Chloe sent this in;

(I thought we was going to be hammered today but the lads did well and I am going home very happy. Keep up the good work lads and keep marching on together)

Noel Whelen tweeted;

(Great win for the mighty whites away at Ipswich , great start to the season, the futures bright the futures white MOT)

Its safe to say that we have a hard working set of lads in front of a solid keeper and yes, I know Paddy makes mistakes, but doesn't every keeper and how many times has he saved us. Peltier did a lot more running today and put a few last ditch tackles in. Lees was at fault for the goal and didn't have a great game, but stuck to it. Pearce is going along steady and un-noticed, but he is being consistent. Warnock again gets up and down the wing, adds the experience to the defence and is a good reader of the game. Green had a much better game today and was battling up and down the pitch as was Murphy, but misplaced a few passes. Austin again was solid and the yellow card didn't put him off for a good challenge. McCormack again tried and tried to make things happen and got the winner albeit a deflected one, but they all count, Leeds must keep him. Varney, got the equaliser after good work from Ross and nearly put the net through with his effort! Luke is Jeckyl and Hyde for me, today he did well winning headers and his pace to make Ipswich uncomfortable. Hunt is a workaholic and although he has yet to register his first goal, he grafts for the team and the goal will come. Dom came on and proved what an impact sub he is, he scared the Ipswich defense to death. I was suprised Tonge didn't start, but his composure and vision saw Leeds over the finish line and pick up a great 3 points away from home.

(Poor for opening 20 mins or so, and lucky to be just 1 down, ball fell kindly for varney to get us level, after that we improved, 2nd half a bit of ross mac magic put us ahead, after that we mainly were comfortable and held out for a great win, we have since B mac took over a great ability to hang in games, then take our chances to strike back, must admit the style of our play at times is like what we saw last season and not pretty on the eye, but despite this side bein mainly last seasons team/squad, B Mac seems to have gelled the team/squad as a unit with all players now going in the same direction, unlike last season when the dire neil warnock were in charge, the players look a lot fitter, none more so than Ross mac and kenny, and both and others in the team/squad are benefitting for it)

LUFC Dave sent in;

(Leeds United is a work in progress team, with work happening that a certain crook made worse. Leeds will be fine in 2 - 3 years and for now I will take this start all day. Ipswich are a good team, as are the others we have played minus Wed! GFH are here to make money and to do that they need the fans on side. They will only make their millions in the Prem so that is what they will do eventually. Everything is going in the right direction. MOT)

Slap LUFC sent in;

(Who cares with how we played, 3 points away from home, COME ON LEEDS)

Thanks to everyone that got involved in this, if the reaction is good I will do it again. As Slap said, 3 pts away from home, who cares about the performance. Great win and onto QPR in the league, not before a cup game at Doncaster, a town full of Leeds fans!
