Leeds have turned their attention towards Middlesborough striker Lukas Jutkiewicz after missing out on Ashely Barnes.

Jutkiewicz is out of favour at Boro and Karanka is willing to listen to offers for the forward.

Blackburn have today been linked with Lukas with a potential swap deal involving Ruben Rochina however Brian McDermott has indicated to Leeds officials to go and get Jutkiewicz.

Need to be on more often, but where's the source for this? And I don't know much about the lad, any good?

Agree2 Disagree0

Personally I think he's useless

He is garbage

Agree3 Disagree1

Hearing that we are preparing a significant bid or ALF if true i'd prefer him to juke

Agree1 Disagree0

Doubt it - Le Fondre is our calibre - stop making things up to generate interest - in your player - I bet you are an agent - go play games elsewhere

Agree2 Disagree1

Eddie Gray said when we played them last season that he looked very useful, about the only Boro player who does.

Agree1 Disagree0

Im not his agent just rumours i'm hearing. leeds pulled out of the wells signing to use the money on ALF, but as I said its only what i'm hearing. but with billy sharpe looking likely to be a reading player permanently, ALF could be sold!

Agree2 Disagree0

His return is very poor at this level and judging by the amount of teams he has already played for at 24 years old, 7 in total I would pass! markymafia

Hes guaranteed to be top scorer. At scrabble!

Agree2 Disagree1

Don't need this rubbish. Come on Leeds let's sign Adam Le Fondre.

Agree1 Disagree2

Not saying he is the answer, but not true that he is useless. Runs powerfully with the ball, quite good on the ground for a big guy, and was a handful for our defence in the first half last season. Real shame about Blackstock. Chapel A

Agree1 Disagree0

I remember juke at coventry this lad is very good but i'd love us to bid for his team mate marvin emnes very fast and knows how to score.

Agree1 Disagree1

If Boro don't want him then he must be sh**e!

Agree1 Disagree0

Boro are very good matey look at us useless

Leeds will not sign Jimmy Ryan. Confirmed.

Believable29 Unbelievable23

Confirmed by you only :) I like your style

Agree2 Disagree0

Confirmed by who? I have this on good authority that this one will go through soon!

Agree0 Disagree1

I saw this. Jimmy Ryan said it on Chesterfield Twitter. Said no truth

Agree1 Disagree0

Sorry but why are leeds even interested? he's league 2 standard and will not add anything to our team just another useless player

Any significance or benefits in the link up with the 49ers?

I am curious, to see what we will gain from this.

DS

Believable25 Unbelievable7

Nothing more than brand awareness. possible investment by 49'ers owners if we start being more successful I suppose. maybe free trips to california in the summer for David Haigh.

Agree2 Disagree1

Our owners/directors will be able to exchange ideas with their counterparts at 49ers who will be well versed on maximising income streams, keeping costs down etc. It will also improve LUFC profile in North America and who knows what that could lead to? Nothing but good news. Would it have happened before December 2012?

Agree5 Disagree0

The link up is more commercial based than sporting, although saying that ideas and plans for training routines and physio plans are to be shared to see if either sport can take anything from the other.

Agree2 Disagree0

Basically, there'll be meeting to discuss the buissness of the club. Such as Advertising, Merchandise, Technology, Ticket sales and business ideas! It helps with the money income of the two clubs! Can't be a bad thing! :) ~ Adam MOT

Agree4 Disagree0

Just looked on lufc website and then 49ers site. I would deduce from the absence of any mention of this on the 49ers site that we are more 'excited' about this that they are.

Agree2 Disagree1

Part of the new Leeds consortium is associated with the 49ers

Agree3 Disagree0

Exposure to the Bay area soccer fan base (billion dollar owner too).

Agree3 Disagree0

Marketing, advertising strategies. Both clubs will share tips and advice etc on how to generate more revenue etc. All that kinda jaz, can't see us making any loan signings, they might fancy Austin though ;)

Agree2 Disagree1

Dunno what benefits we will get from partnership. But it does make you wonder if any of the new owners are part of the 49ers set up?

Agree4 Disagree0

To be fair to 49er's when it was announced it will have been in the middle of the night, could be why its not on their web site

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe we could borrow Patrick Willis for our defence!

Agree3 Disagree1

Middle of the night! California are 8 hours behind 8am is not exactly middle of the night now is it?

Agree2 Disagree1

Think more benefit with another 20?

Agree1 Disagree0

Global branding

On OS now Kebe has signed.

Believable32 Unbelievable14

I am enjoying this transfer window all of a sudden.
Couple of good signings (I hope) in Stewart and Kebe, some wide play, lots of pace. sweet.
Smith and Rossco Mac should have a field day with the service.
Another front man to add to the squad would be great, get Shaun Goater out of retirement. Feed the Goat and he shall score! or failing that Mr Le Fondre would be good

J Kebe has joined on loan 1317 hrs

Great signing I think MOT

BMC will make a bid for Adam Le Fondre today in the region of 1.5 million he will also be going in with a bid for Jimmy Ryan

Believable41 Unbelievable20

1.5 would buy his left foot and that's all :) your talking 4 easy if you want him

Agree0 Disagree4

No way ALF is worth 4 million! he is out of favour and a supersub that's all. 1.5-2 mil max. 4 million whos leg are you pulling? That woud make ross worth 15 million then

Agree6 Disagree0

I have heard the Jimmy Ryan rumor before. He is on a short contract and would not cost much. He is obviously a better player than the level he is currently playing at.

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't see clubs queuing up to sign ALF? 1m is about right but I think we can do better than him now.

Agree0 Disagree0

You dnt see clubs wanting him then you can't be upto date as he's wanted by 4 other championship teams and 1 prem. ross is worth 5 mill and alf around 4 mill, its not like he's not proven in this league and prem! not a chance your get him for 1 mill or 2 has 2 b 3-4 if you want goals simple as that or you could pay 2 mill 4 wells who has never played at this level or higher.

Agree0 Disagree0

We havnt spent anything yet from the kitty that the new owners have given B McD to strengthen. Our two new signings are loan players. If we are going to spend 4m on a striker I'd want better than ALF. He's ok but not prolific. If a prem side wants him he should take it but I havnt seen a prem side in for him. I think we can do better than ALF now. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Who at 2mill would b better than alf? someone said if alf is worth 4 then ross is worth 15? on what basis? has ross ever been in a prem team? no has ross ever scored a prem goal? no so i'd really like 2 know how you work his value more than alf. 2 mill 4 alf would be such a bargain as he not only performs well in the championship but also did very well in prem. ross ain't done a thing in the past 5 games. watch jimmy kebe 2moz that is a player who can play very well unlike most at leeds at min.

Agree0 Disagree0

Conor whickham, watch him tomorrow , went to prem with sunderland to early . him and ross up front supplied by 2wingers and smith on the bench . as good as anything in this league .

Agree2 Disagree0

Keep him mate. You obviously rate him very highly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross is worth more because he's scored a lot more goals. That is how valuation on strikers works, it's that simple

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2014 07:26:57
Ross is worth more because of the years on his contract. THAT'S how it works. ALF to Leeds!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol that is not how valuation works. wells has scored 15 goals and he's worth 2 mill so your logic fails i'm afraid. ross is worth around 3 to 4 mill max alf is around 3 to 4. he's scored at higher level and he's scored more goals in his career. that is how valuation works!

We are hearing that Blackpool are keen on re-signing Leeds forward Luke Varney. Leeds boss Brian McDermott confirmed earlier this week that there was interest being shown in Varney who has found himself down the pecking order at Elland Road in recent months. Varney is a big fans' favourite at Blackpool after impressing during a loan spell at Bloomfield Road when Blackpool were in the Premier League in 2010/11.

Believable26 Unbelievable10

I will happily drive him to Blackpool myself - he is, always was and always will be Div 1 standard at best

Bye then! I won't miss him

Agree4 Disagree3

You mean league 1. Div 1 is prem league

Wigan midfielder Fraser Fyvie is a target for Leeds United

Believable6 Unbelievable45

He was awful whilst on loan at Yeovil therefore no chance he'll be coming to us.

Agree2 Disagree0

Ive heard that rumour elsewhere too, but I don't know anything about him. I think ben watson may be a great shout high pass accuracy and key pass rate and out of contract in 6 months

Agree1 Disagree0

Ive heard leeds are interested in watson but are keen to bolster the wings (done) a striker and a keeper 1st they see these as priority ares 1st

Agree2 Disagree0

Keeper wnt b needed we have kenny who has earned us so many points this season and ashdown ain't to bad as backup

I here Ashley Barnes is sleeping on his decision to sign for Burnley possibly due to late interest from LUFC
He had his medical at 1.30pm yet no official announcement has been made
David Haigh also tweeted he 'had work to do' late on this evening
Some Burnley fans believe Leeds interest had scuppers the deal and is holding out to speak with us
Watch this space an interesting Friday!

Believable26 Unbelievable22

Believe Barnes is worried about playing time at Burnley because of Ings and Vokes being in fine form whereas he knows he is more likely to dislodge Smith. I fancy us to steal this one.

Agree5 Disagree3

Yes I agree with the above post! Got a bit about him Barnes! Horrible player for defenders but doesn't score a much as he should, hopefully Brian can get the beat out of him

Agree3 Disagree1

Why would anyone pick Burnley over Leeds they are never going to set the world alight as a football club are they!

Agree1 Disagree1

Mc'dermot just been on . He said tried to get a 3rd in yesterday and it didn't quite come off. Guessing it's barnes

Agree3 Disagree0

Barnes is a terrible player look at his record really poor

Agree2 Disagree1

BREAKING: Ashley Barnes signs three-and-a-half-yeal deal for Clarets for an undisclosed fee.

Agree2 Disagree1

We are hearing that Huddersfield have agreed a fee with Bradford for Nahki Wells and are set for talks with the prolific striker.

Agree1 Disagree1

Nahki Wells would be a much better signing, only 24 tonnes of pace and 15 goals already. Him and McCormack would dominate or he could play on the wing he's a win win.

Agree1 Disagree0

Perhaps we could swap Wells for Kebe?
