Breaking news, on the back of promotion and cup success with Burton Leonard Squirrel, Gary Walker is rumoured to be lined up to replace Simon Grayson.

Believable6 Unbelievable18

1. You have been playing fm
2. Why would a non league burton leonard whatever they're called manager suddenly go to a near premiership standard team before proving himself in league 1 or league 2

Agree0 Disagree0

3. why are you so stupid to not see that someone is having a laugh here

Agree0 Disagree0

This is actually true. Gary Walker is a highly respected manager in the lower leagues and has known Grayson from the Leeds youth team. From what I've heard Snodin is at fault for the defence last season and Walker is in line to replace him.

Rumour has it that Leeds are either training in St Andrews or Ravenscraig this week in Scotland. Any idea Ed on where, as I can get to both and would love to see the lads up close (and hopefully spot a new face or two) In Grayson we trust MOT
The Saggi

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Would imagine of all days Monday is the most likely for a signing to take place, quite confident it'll happen today. But still imagine alot will be deflated whoever the new face is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here's me thinking I was classed as the stalker on here ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not in St Andrews (I'm a student there), its somewhere near Glasgow according to Thom Kirwin's twitter

Nice one pal...must be Ravenscraig then....Right..camera at the ready and off we go MOT

I would take Michael Brown & Dave Jones (ex wolves)

Not sure about Stockdale.. Yes I would like him to come play for us but permanent.. If he comes on loan, they can have a 24h recall clause which would leave us in the sh1t

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Not if there is a cash payment which is highly likely for a year long loan

This. Although out of all the old lads mentioned he is the only one that I would have considered. Still has plenty to offer and has proven that last season. Wish him luck

Grayson confirms Lihaj interest..

Grayson said: I ve spoken to Alex McLeish about him but they ve only just gone back to training and Alex will want to assess his squad. But Eric s high up on the list of players we d like to bring in.

Believable14 Unbelievable3

Thats most sensible signing ive heard from grayson yet. Hope it comes into fruition. dont want him on loan tho. Sign him permanent. Hes gonna be worth a lot more in a years time.

Agree0 Disagree0

And he can play at RB or LB, which will sort two positions out. Lichaj can be back up RB and first choice LB

Agree0 Disagree0

Villa wont sell him, get him on loan for the season, it can only benefit us

The chances of getting Smith are slim as he doesn't want to leave Newcastle or step down a league.
There are rumours that our other CM signing will be Dave Jones ex Wolves (TWITTER).
Also expect Bromby to return to Sheff utd but it may or may not involve Montgomery (££ WAGES)
Expect Gradel to sign anew deal before the end of the transfer window.

Believable12 Unbelievable5

I hope for Jones... Had some good reviews about him...

Will carry Bromby Paynter & Bessone out of the club

Agree0 Disagree0

No one cares about Smith anymore, we get it he's greedy and has an over inflated opinion of his 'talents'.....next

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle don't want him so even if he doesn't go back to Leeds they'll ship him out to somewhere

Fulham are expected to loan goalkeeper David Stockdale to a Championship club in the coming days, so Swansea will miss out on his services.

Stockdale has been linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium, but the Cottagers have ruled out allowing him to join a Premier League club as they cannot insert a 24-hour recall clause in the deal.

That means the 25-year-old will have to drop down a level if he wants to secure regular first-team football.

Fulham goalkeeping coach Hans Segers told the Fulham and Hammersmith Chronicle: "There are quite a few clubs interested and I can see something happening in the next few days.

"I'm waiting for confirmation from one of the clubs."

Believable2 Unbelievable3

If fulham wont a 24hr call back then that is the last thing we wont. No point signing him just for fulham to call him back and leave us in deep s##t.

Agree0 Disagree0

All well and good, but we need a permanent number 1, not one who could leave the club at any point.

iv heard that andy king from leicester city is up here, does anybody know if this is true or has anyone seen him, would be a great signimg but would cost a mint.

Believable4 Unbelievable11

Would be a superb signing and you never know with all the incomings at Liecester.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance he's their captain isn't he? and was their top scorer last season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very much doubt it but that would be a fantastic move

Agree0 Disagree0

On 15 April 2011 King finally signed a one year contract extension keeping him at the club until 2015.

Sunday times says michael brown from portsmouth a done deal. Pg 6 in the sport section.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

As said on other message boards Michael Brown would be a great signing, a nasty b*****d who puts his foot in , he scores goals & can pick a pass, ideal. Get him signed quick

Agree0 Disagree0

34.. Could be an interesting one... If he is so good, why would Portsmouth let him go ?

Agree0 Disagree0

He left Portsmouth as if I remember rightly if he played another game a clause in his contract would either give him another year on his inflated wages there or increase them from what they were.

A couple of rumours that have arrised

Smith from newcastle and Hargreaves from free

I dont know if everyone will agree with me but what a midfield we would have, alot of options would be created, yes smith and hargreaves are getting on but they will be great for championship level,

we would have the likes of

Smith
Hargreaves
Houson
Snodgrass
Gradel
Clayton

as all midfielders and therefore would give us the opition of putting snodgrass and/or gradel upfront playing a 4-3-3 formation,

Either that or selling one of the two

If we captue smith and hargreaves i believe we will have a decent chance of promotion this season so long as they dont get injured and we get another decent striker and a decint defender

Come on LEEDS

Believable4 Unbelievable9

Your dreaming We can't keep Kilkenny or Johnson so no chance of either of those. Who wants smith anyway......has been, judas, crocked

Agree0 Disagree0

Whatever the rights and wrongs of the past if both smith and particularly Hargreaves got fit, that'd be amazing, but that sounds pretty costly I'm not sure its believable

Agree0 Disagree0

Both taking up the treatment room for a large part of the season, yeah great signings....

Agree0 Disagree0

ITS NOT JUST ABOUT THE PAST, YOUR LIKE A BROKEN RECORD...

They are both crocks, would sap all our wage budget and for what minimal input, they would take the place of someone we could bring in with much more talent, youth and fitness/health.
We cannot afford the costs or the risks
One question...why are you all so desperate to get injury prone players in? Take out the fact your all judging them on years gone by performance, judge them NOW and answer the question.
As for Smith inparticular what part of his behaviour/actions makes you even believe he wants a move back? Ain't half Baffling...

Agree0 Disagree0

Smudger-looking for his last pay day or glory, neither benefit leeds - no
hargreaves-How long did he last in his last game for scum five minutes - no
clayton-not up to it - no
have we honestly become a club that old injury riddled players go to, now thats what you call ambition Simon

I work in the ticket office at Euston Station.I have just sold a Glasgow ticket (First Class) to Fulham goalkeeper David Stockdale.I asked him if he was signing for Rangers or Celtic? His answer was "No, my new club are playing in Scotland this week"

After much researching I can only guess his new club is Leeds United.

MOT

Believable14 Unbelievable11

Pretty sure his agent would sort out that side of things, but would love it to be true

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah cause the MOT didn't give everything away at the end there

Believe me or not but Grayson is pushing the boat out and making it his mission to sign owen Hargreaves, he believes he is perfect for the team and would be crucial in getting Leeds to the prem, apparently bates is willing to pay the wages to lure him as he is desperate to get the club to the top flight, obviously he wants to make the pounds in the premiership, I know because Peter lorimer is a very good friend of the family, not saying where going to sign him but I know Grayson and the club representatives are doing all they can.

Believable7 Unbelievable10

So are Stoke and Leicester...wonder where he will go?

Robbie Savage has said on Twitter that he's going on holiday for 2 weeks then when he comes back he has a "massive massive decision" to make. With him saying he'd only play for Leeds if he retired.. Maybe SG has been in touch with him? {Ed015's Note - wont happen}

Believable3 Unbelievable8

I would be delighted with that he will at least give us some steel and balls

Agree0 Disagree0

Why the hell we want Savage? Past his sell by date three years ago. I know we have no ney but surely you have to be a bit more ambitious than that?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm just posting it since he's been mentioned on here not too long back. Think he'll be the experience which SG is looking for though.

Leeds squad for the mini Scottish tour announced:

Full squad: Rachubka, Cairns, Connolly, Thompson, O'Brien, Bruce, Bromby, Lees, Kisnorbo, Parker, White, L Turner, Bessone, N Turner, Howson, Clayton, Sam, Nunez, Snodgrass, Gradel, Paynter, Becchio, Somma, McCormack.

Although SG has stated that this could increase in size over the coming week. I think SG will be just as frustrated as the fans regarding the lack of transfer activity at the moment, HOWEVER, I think any signings made will be for the benefit of the club long term

Believable16 Unbelievable4

So long as we don't make too many loan signings

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the best thing at the moment is to have a decent squad, and then bring in the loan players to cover injuries. I do think it's better to have a squad like we have too. To have players who are pushing to get into the team. It's healthy competition, and it encourages fringe and youth players to put in that extra effort to knowing they might be capable of earning a starting place

Keith Andrews linked with Leeds United. Would be a very good signing to strengthen midfield.

Source: The Sunday People

Believable15 Unbelievable5

I hope this is true - he is exactly the kind of player we should be chasing

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh please god no I pray he doesn't sign my cousin used to play with him in all the Irish underage teams and said of all the professional players to have made a career he said he would have given odds of 7 billion to 1 for him to make it. On my own personal opinion seen him play live quite a few times and sadly I have to agree with my cousin, he would struggle to stand out in the Eirsom League here in Ireland. Come on Grayson pull something out of the bag.

I know some people won't believe this and will push the "disagree" button frantically - but let's not kid ourselves there are going to be ANY big signings - Rachubka WILL be our No1 and one of the youngsters our No 2 - the squad we have now will be the squad we have for the first game - bates will not pay the wages needed to attract better players and Grayson will soon realise that it's futile to keep trying and go with what we have - I don't blame Grayson and am a big fan of his but bates will put business before success - so here it is , let's just get behind our team and put up with the away shirt - and to all you who are going to hit "disagree" button just remember this post in a few weeks time - I hope I'm wrong by the way {Ed017's Note - Lets see what the coming week will bring SG is hoping to add players for the Scottish games....

Believable14 Unbelievable20

Most senisble thing said on this site for the last two months. The fact is we do not have the money to compete with other clubs in the division. SG could ell be out of a job by Christmas as is not being backed by KB. Still we will have the best museum in Beeston What do you think Ed? {Ed015's Note - we are close to signing a goalkeeper}

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't believe some of you lot on here knocking Bates all the time. If you had your way we'd be back to the good old days of Ridsdale, SPEND SPEND SPEND We nearly went out of business, we nearly didn't have a club and all for a few moments of glory. When the time is right I'm sure you'll get your way and Bates will sell up and retire on his millions but to do that he has to make the club an attractive proposition. For example we own our ground and training facilities, the books show a profit, income exceeds expenditure, so let him get on with it and stop sniping all the time

Paddy kisnorbo has just signed a new 2 year deal with Leeds.

Believable15 Unbelievable3

Well at least leeds have signed someone decent at last lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Good bit of business if Paddy can find the form he had before before the injury. I saw Lee's play a handful of times last season and i was really impressed looked quality, composed, and had he been recalled and played for us last season wouldnt of looked out of his depth.I know that wouldnt of be difficult. Im hoping he gets the chance but i cant help feeling he may be another player that gets snapped up on the cheap after a season warming the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope he has not lost it we will see but we need cover in this position also we need to sign a strong centre back to go alongside O brien. Dunne would be ideal but we would not be able to afford him

I cant think of anything worse than drafting in the castoffs 1 week before the season starts.

It seems to me that all the quality frees are being snapped up and we are missing out.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Could not agree more but when your skint and KB is paying himself hansomely what do you expect. {Ed015's Note - ken bates has not taken a penny from Leeds, he earns all his money from his buisness connections with leeds but not from the club its self, Leeds running costs and ground rent are one off the highest in the Country}
