Rumour #36

Released Arsenal youngster Chuck Aneke is now linked to us. 20 year old has spent a few seasons in league one and scored 16 goals for Crewe last season. Was once dubbed as another Yaya Toure.

This would be a nice signing as he got 14 goals from midfield

Agree2 Disagree0

Could be a great signing, I for one will feel more at ease when a new gaffer is in and the squad is sorted. Leeds are an attractive team with a great history behind them. but players expect paying. so all the off the field issues need sorting out first!

Agree2 Disagree0

Tv are now linking us to him so this one is looking good :)

At least Brian won't be able to play him at left back

Agree2 Disagree0

I have seen the same story, but does make you wonder if he was the next Yaya Toure why on earth he was let go by Arsenal, these clubs just big up players to help them get another club, I'm sure of it!

Remember Michael Johnson of Manchester City, was the next big thing to come through their academy, now no longer a pro-footballer.

Agree3 Disagree0

Johnson had the world at his feet a few years ago, massive potential, but he chose to go down the route of beer, sex, chips and gravy!

Many a man has done the same, including me!

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the lad had a nervous breakdown, it wasn't about beers etc. Adam Johnson is the one who went down that route, not Michael.}

Apologies Ed, my mistake

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - no worries mate, easy mistake to make. They were both at City which makes it even easier to mix them up.}

Michael Johnson was a talented player so never worked for him due to injuries and mental issues. Aneke is proven to be consistent in league 1 and at 20 he could be a good relatively cheap gamble

Agree2 Disagree0

It's his 21st on July 3rd, maybe if we buy him a nice big cake.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have a look at the goals video for Crewe this season. He looks a lot like Yaya Toure even in the way he moves. Scores the same types of goal and goes on the same runs. Looks like the perfect signing to put a powerhouse in our midfield.

Leeds United Told to Pay Reading £400k if They Want Eamonn Dolan as Their New Manager!

Believable30 Unbelievable40

The man won't pay it! He keeps likening everything to his native country Italy were things, players, wages are very different to the English game, so he is not going to be held to ransom on a lot of these things, so we could end up missing out on a lot of players/targets because of this, and I fear because a club maybe willing to say give 5, 6, 7 million for ross he may compare this to back home in Italy and take the money thinking its a good deal(which it would be imo) and we could be left with every body elses cast offs if he's not going to put it back into the team, and we need to act quickly because I bet you 80% of players are already lined up for there new clubs. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually Reading are saying he isn't going anywhere, not that he will only go if we pay them off?

Makes you wonder why he attended an interview if he isn't going anywhere?

Maybe Reading need to tell him that too?

Massimo Cellino is back in England tomorrow after finalising the sale of Cagliari late last night. His next job is appointing a manager, most likely to be Eamonn Dolan. if a compensation fee with Reading can be agreed that is.

Believable16 Unbelievable23

Wrong!
He's categorically said he wants a coach, do people NOT listen?

Agree6 Disagree3

Calm down.
I put manager instead of coah I am sorry. Genuine mistake.

Agree9 Disagree0

Andy we all know what Ryan meant.
Chill princess

Agree3 Disagree0

Reading have warned us off over Dolan so he should be out of the reckening McAllister or Houghton is the next best thing

Agree1 Disagree5

Mancini is free now, and Italian!

Agree3 Disagree0

Thats just it with Mancini he's Italian - Massimo has said he wants a British Coach - Paul Clement at Real Madrid gets my vote!

Agree6 Disagree0

Paul Clement would be fantastic

Agree3 Disagree0

Teeth
Huge difference my friend!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul clement is a top notch coach I believe he is the number one target for cellino, I also believe, dolan and hockaday would come as a pair, but the number one choice would be paul clement

Who ever he chooses he needs to get a move on, we are very short on good players, or will the new coach not have a say in this, and players/agents already being spoken too by carbone or even MC himself? This this man likes to call a lot of the shots tbh. MOT

MC sells Caligari. Signed the papers at 2230 last night statement tomorrow. Can everyone now please stop saying he has no money. Having money and not spending it is not the same as having no money. He is possibly the richest chairman we have ever had, and from the look of it so far probably the smartest.

Believable63 Unbelievable8

Just in time for him to name new manager today and just in time to sign the players released on 1st of july, coming together nicely imo, less of the doom and gloom please. MOT

Yes and can everyone stop thinking he s going to spend his cash at Leeds. He s a seller, Ross is the next sale and he ll pocket that too.

Well said.

Agree0 Disagree7

This still doesn't alter the fact that we won't be signing anyone soon

Agree1 Disagree3

I am sick of the sycophantic B.S. that we keep pouring out on this guy. This 'clever' owner has walked into a business nightmare with his eyes wide shut. He has no emotional attachment to Leeds - he tried to buy Crystal Palace and West Ham before managing to get us. Any money he may have coming from the sale of Cagliari will be well tied up servicing the debts accrued in the running and acquisition of Leeds and the upcoming repayments to GFH for the outstanding dues on the transaction.

He is a convicted fraudster whom an Italian judge described in their summing up as 'a man of marked criminal tendencies capable of using every kind of deception to achieve his ends'.

I will start to believe some of the hype about MC when I see his intent and see him follow through on anything that will move the Club forward:

I will buy back ER, it is a trifle I will go to the bank - it ain't happening folks.

I will invest in our youth system - he has told the academy staff that he wants them to run on the same budget he had at Cagliari (€20K). Cat 2 academies need to spend at least £490K pa to satisfy FA. So he wants the academy to be junk status.

I will buy back TA - its been abandoned - he hates it and what it represents.

We will be in the premiership in 2 years - there is no squad investment; we don't have a manager, we don't even have a kit for next season.

He has installed his family to the highest board positions, so his cronies are getting their payday for sure - but are there any professional football or business people now running the Club?

I hate to say it, but Bates may have taken this Club through Administration and relegation to the 3rd tier (and there's no guarantee MC won't have us down there as well!), but from what I am seeing he didn't do 1/4 the damage that this maniac has done in a few weeks. Its all very well deluding ourselves that MC is doing great, but there is no evidence that he is doing anything other than dismantling most of the club.

I hope that we play good football and have big attendances next season - I am not so sure MC cares - he will use his money to flatter his ego; if that means moving football from ER - well he did it to Cagliari - be careful what you wish for from this 'clever' owner.

Agree1 Disagree10

Hope he paid his tax on the "Unearned Income".

Agree0 Disagree0

Sold for £36m

Agree0 Disagree0

All these things Realitycheck are actual facts. u can't dismiss them out of hand. we just have to wait and see what's his intentions are.its I said b4. its a very italian thing. with no experience of running an english football club. he won't be spending £5m on a player, he won't be buying back ER. he's going to employ an unknown "coach", which means a "yes" man. whose to say he won't have a say in tactics and team selection. 30 odd coaches speaks for itself, doesn't bode well for a stable future. so far its been a PR stunt, how long b4 he gets bored and sinks the club further into turmoil. fans want success, but what the fans want and get, and what an owner wants maybe 2 different things.

Agree2 Disagree2

Just to add this to the debate realitycheck
a poll in Sardinia paper asked what people thought of MC 22yrs in charge.

61% was either good or excellent. Why would he be any different here.

Agree3 Disagree0

Its fans expectations, Cagliaris maybe different to ours, how come one group got planning permission for the refurb of the stadium, and he didnt, just an example.I sincerely hope MC produces, and shoves my post down my throat, but call me an old cynic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Victor Meldrew oh I mean Reality check
Didn't have to read your name at the bottom I guessed.
ANOTHER doom & gloom comment.

Agree1 Disagree0

A.S
MC never said he would spend millions on players, this was what LUFC fans thought he would do because he had money. At Calgari he bought players for 500k developed them and sold for 8/9 million to pay the way for the club as attendences were only 5,000.
If he gets us 4 or 5 players at around 500k and they turn out to be worth 8 million then I for one would be happy.

MC NEVER said he would buy TA, his words were I will go to the bank and buy back ER but the training ground is too far away.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish supporters would get away from this notion that MC has lots of money, he doesn't. His family have a tad over a billion euro, MC has a portion of that as his own. My guess would be about 10%, in much the same way as the Cellino "Family" own LUFC, but MC is only owning 10%. That would mean MC personal fortune 100million.
