According to reports at Elland Road tonight the proposed takeover has fallen through due to Ken Bates unwillness to finalise the deal.

Believable61 Unbelievable44

Whose reports are these then ?give us some clarity please

Agree1 Disagree0

Yeah what reports ? person

Agree1 Disagree0

Wondered how long it would take some person to start all this again

Agree0 Disagree0

There never was a takeover to start with you lot on this site need to wake up and realise bates isnt leaving until he has completely destroyed are club love leeds hate bates

Agree0 Disagree0

A lot of "contributers" on this site are just guessing and making up so called rumours just to wind people up. Here is a classic example. No names given. No media source given, just plain pie in the sky guesswork and pure drivel. The talks are or were being held in total secrecy, by experienced businessmen (including our saviour chairman Ken Bates. There's not a chance word, be it good or bad has somehow slipped out. Finally folk, give Ken a chance. I didn't see too many saviours around when we were 24 hours from total extinction.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken Bates is a tool .anyone backing him is a tool as well

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm no bates lover by a long shot but to say he won't leave it he's destroyed the club is very stupid, why would he do all he did to save us only the take us apart a few years later?

Agree0 Disagree1

Personally its KB company and he will do what he wants with it...regardless of fans (but he must take some notice). Not many around to take over when we went tits up and I feel a lot of KB haters stirring this all up probably didnt have pubic hairs at the time we went south. I also think a lot of the posters also have yet to grow a set of balls and deal with reality. We support a team and were not decision makers although many would believe so after paying the price of a ticket

Agree0 Disagree0

Saviour?? you complete joker, Bates is a disgrace to the human race...

Agree1 Disagree0

Bates is a business man, he will not destroy club as this will destroy his ability to be a director. I personally think we all should just support the team, as our famous song lyrics
"We've been through it all together,

And we've had our ups and downs (UPS AND DOWNS!)

We're gonna stay with you forever,

at least until the world stops going round"

No mater who is in charge support the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

What reports at Elland Road tonight !! There's an Elland Road in Halifax is it that one.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd be interested to know how much of these people are actually Leeds fans and how many of them are just people trying to have a go. Pointless comments just trying to get us Leeds fans down. At least if your going to post stuff like this, say where you get your information from instead of just rambling to annoy everyone. We will just keep being patient and see what happens. It will need to come to a head sooner rather than later.

StevenLufc

Believable55 Unbelievable5

Just rambling to annoy everyone....oh the irony!

BOYCOTT ER THE ONLY WAY

LLHB MOT

Agree0 Disagree2

I agree with the original posting, however, the posting above this one I find annoying & rambling !!

Agree3 Disagree0

Boycott E.R. Why, it would feel more like I had let the manager and team itself down if I was to start doing that, there are to many so called fans only posting to rant on about Bates, it's getting well boring.

Agree0 Disagree2

Why boycott E.R. I love Leeds more than I hate Ken Bates.

StevenLufc

Agree2 Disagree0

And Ken Bates loves you more than he hates Leeds cos you keep giving him your money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Boycotting elland road is the only way to get bates out

Agree0 Disagree0

Boycott all the way love leeds hate bates!

Agree0 Disagree0

The only thing a boycott of ER will achieve would be to send the club plummeting down the divisions ... and when that has happened and the club's in the mire and struggling to stay in existence then Mr Bates will have achieved his stated amition ... ignore him and support the team.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Investment would be nice but it isn't the be all and end all of football. Put yourselves above all this money, money, money. To say not going to ER because of bates is daft, what have you been doing last few years. Teddy out of the cot because we haven't become some rich foreigners latest plaything. Get behind the team, what will happen will happen

Bloody hell Leeds bosses plead guilty to something in court, maybe a miss print.
Lots of gossip today but il believe it when it's official and on a side note I will be attending the everton game even if nobody else is! MOT still means something to me and the majority. That through thick n thin, good n bad, richer or poorer

Derry and or Jenas wud b great loan signings but there's also free agents who wud do the same job. Nigel Reo-Coker n Owen Hargreaves. Ok Hargreaves has had horrible injury problems but a step down to championship level wud b quality in my opinion.

Believable23 Unbelievable11

Wot the hell do we want Derry for ?

Agree1 Disagree0

Not to worry about new players. its down hill all the way we going back to league 1

Agree0 Disagree1

To the guy saying 'wot the hell do we want Derry for' probably because when he was here is was hands down our best player? Also was one of the first names on the teamsheet for QPR during their promotion campaign. But to the OP i think their wages would be far too much for us mate.

Ok let's get one thing straight,if the story is true about this consortium missing the deadline for payment how is that ken Bates fault,I am no fan of ken Bates believe me but if they did miss this deadline then 1, have theygot the funds, keeping in mind we are talking about sheikh I got the funds,I haven't got the funds kalifa,2 how desperate are they about owning the club 3,is this all ken Bates fault?,would you want to do bussiness with people like that,so before we start blaming people we need to know the full facts, but we never will because of the confidentiality clause, who's idea was that I wonder, this takeover is dead, the club need to come out and confirm it.

Believable8 Unbelievable13

The club statement, way back when we all got excited, declared that they had the funds. It was one of the main criteria at the time before due diligence was granted. Bates will no doubt put his own spin on it and we will never know the true reason it collapsed (if it has). He's been playing this card ever since he's owned us to try and save credibility with players contracts, takeover talk etc... he's a c**t and an unkempt one at that!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not debating your description of the man,but just tryin to make sense of why,if there so desperate to finalise the deal, would they miss this deadline if true they have.

Agree0 Disagree0

They didn't pay as the agreement they had in place was changed by bated at the last minute and from what is said on the web from serval ppl it's bates holding things up by not signing the indemnity clause standard in business. Do why would you think that bated is not to blame.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently the terms of the deal were changed so the prospective buyers held back on making the payment. Those terms are still to be sorted.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not saying Bates isn't to blame, but maybe consortium don't smell of roses neither, there not blameless,if they want the club so badly you would overlook these issues.

Agree0 Disagree1

No one other than Bates and the buyers know what the hold up is in the deal, so ignore all this rubbish from people who know nowt.
MaltaWhite

Agree1 Disagree0

Just a point on the payment being missed, I find this hard to believe for two reasons, the first is the NDA would cover payment terms and I can not see the consortium saying they missed the date and for that matter Bates would not leak that information as he would leave himself open to a legal charge due to the NDA terms
On a takeover once funds are proved which they were in the Leeds case the funds are normally held in a Holding account.
So this I believe is pure speculation, the Takeover I believe has been dead for a while and Bates is just using the smokescreen to keep costs down and give the fans hope in order to increase the gate receipts etc

Agree0 Disagree0

To everyone where is your proof. Nowhere that where because we are adding two and two and making five.

Agree1 Disagree0

They did not pay because he woul not sign form and had already given 4 mill

Leeds interested in mamady sidibe

Believable16 Unbelievable11

Might as well give Seth Johnson a ring then.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Sep 2012 15:05:42
Apparently we're interested in Sidibe..... Please God NO! lol

Believable9 Unbelievable20

Sidibe isnt that bad a player especially at championship level...who do you want? Ronaldo,Messi perhaps

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Sidibie as a big strong forward to come off the bench and rest Becchio.

He's 6ft4 and would cause an issue for defenders, perhaps allowing McCormack some more space.

Providing Stoke pay 80% of his wages that is! haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Less than 50 goals in almost 400 games... Yes, Ronaldo or Messi would do nicely cheers...

According to national newspaper, neil warnock is currently working without a contract this season and bates has refused to pay for loan signings, now warnock is ready to walk, what started as exciting times at leeds is now a shambles, sick of bates doing this to our club!!

Believable27 Unbelievable25

What utter rubbish! why the f*** would Warnock work for nothing?

Agree1 Disagree0

An Abu Dhabi English speaking rag is not a national newspaper! Perhaps the Middle East consortium are trying another tac to put pressure on Bates?

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock is not working for nothing! He is just not tied down to a period of work i.e. 12 months contract.
This means that Warnock can walk away from the club with no come back because he has not broken his contract! So at the moment Warnock is able to stay or go as he pleases and by all accounts he is close to leaving due to the lack of support from Ken Bates and the undermining of his position by Glyn Williams!
The sooner that the rest of the faithful understand that then the sooner the pressure on Bates to sell can be cranked up!

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt say he was working for nothing hes getting paid same rate but its rolling contract and not tied down for season so can walk away at any point , can you honestly see him staying if he cant get any loan signings? Go on news now theres a link to story there

Agree0 Disagree1

What the poster wrote is true because i myself have read same thing but what isn't true about what weve read is the fact warnock is working uncontracted.
If everyone remembers, warnock contemplated walking 3 weeks into his contract which ends jus before end of this season.
I believe warnock and bates will of had words but warnock being the stubborner of the 2 got his way.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the info divvy, who needs from a National Newspaper when we can have you supplying us duff info direct from the Galpharm, it must be really boring on your own rumour site that you have to see what's going on with the Number 1 club in Yorkshire.

White Forever (What ever happens) {Ed013's Note - I spoke with Neil in Pre-season and he is working on a Non-Contract basis, but does get paid!}

Agree0 Disagree0

If warnock leaves then it will still only b a max of 10% of fans that will not support there team as the other 90% of fans r real fans n support there team no matter what but ppl expecting big unrealistic buys r obviously supporting the wrong team so jog on n stop your pointless moaning n making out you know more than anyone else as no one with a brain will fool for it

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a muppet sat on a rubbishter reading pre seasons newspaper in dubai misreading the date it was printed and decided to make a page of it on our site !
Warnock is UNCONTRACTED but still being paid

Agree0 Disagree0

I am a f***ing leeds fan and i was only pointing out something i read, i want us to do great this is a rumour site so why cant i put info on that ive read i dont know owt about national paper i read link from news now page, if you dont want this info go on a different site

Agree1 Disagree0

So many persons commenting on this to all those people that are slating him and calling him a town fan i have read this article too. Not saying that i believe it but it has been published and i challenge you that are saying he claimed Warnock isn't getting paid then take a quote out of the original post and tell me cause i cant see anywhere 'Warnock isn't getting paid' in his post. He is on a non-contract deal (REMEMBER JUST LIKE DIOUF WAS UNTIL VERY RECENTLY) but we was still paying Diouf wasn't we? Rant over.

Agree1 Disagree0

(original poster) why the f*** would i support huddersfield over the greatest team known to man! Our fans are the best there is and even if some persons boycott games we will still get massive gates and bates will take it out on team when we need signings in jan, i feel our squad is good enough to get to jan in play-off then we get on at him! Somma back in 3 week, paul green back in two!

Agree0 Disagree0

Everything everyone writes on here is speculation . hear say. pure and simple. the takeover by the middle east consortium had the deal agreed on the 24th june. kb changed details at last minute thus m.e consortium didnt miss deadline but kb pretty much forced them to delay.

the meeting on the thursday just gone didnt improve anything and expect an announcement on friday the 14th of this month. be it good or bad i dont know buy my money on the latter. keep hope hate bates

Just heard this via a few people that KB and NW had strong words this morning regarding the loan signings.

KB has refused to allow any extra money for loan wages, other than that already promissed.

NW is seriously considering leaving before the Cardiff game. NW is STILL to sign his contract for this season, so he can walk at any point in time.

This situation is becoming a complete farce and KB needs to take a long hard look at himself, attendances are down, income is down, more people are not attending home games because of Bates.

I hope NW stays at least until the takeover is either completed or falls through, if it falls through he has my blessing to walk away.

Believable27 Unbelievable7

KB take a long hard look at himself? Unlikely. He's 80 something. Certainly overdue.

Takeover and Warnocks future cast in doubt by story coming from middle east newspaper after loan signings row.

Quote "Warnock spent part of the summer outlining his plans for an expensive restructuring of Leeds squad to Salem Patel, a broker representing a part-Bahraini consortium that tried to takeover the club.

Although a deal was agreed with Ken Bates to purchase his majority shareholding, the group failed to meet the payment terms by the July handover date and now seem unlikely to complete.

Bates is understood to be unimpressed by Warnock's activities in the transfer market, which have included several attempts to press Leeds' chairman into signing players."

Bates out give him no money till he is gone, its the only way.

Believable27 Unbelievable0

If Bates is even remotely thinking about losing Warnock the take over will be the least of his worries. He will lose everything. He has already caused resentment and hatred from his own fans for drawing out the TO because of his greedy ways, but if he lost Warnock every Leeds fan would turn against him. Can't describe the hatred I have for that guy. You parasite get out of our club

Believable39 Unbelievable2

Neil Warnock's future as Leeds United manager has been cast into doubt by a dispute over expensive loan signings from the Premier League.
Warnock, who has been working without signing a contract for the current season, is pushing his club to use the Championship's emergency loan system for new recruits in central midfield and attack.

Currently seventh in England's second tier, Leeds have been hit by injuries to vice-captain David Norris, Ireland international Paul Green, and the experienced Michael Brown.

Warnock wants to cover for them by taking Jermaine Jenas or Shaun Derry, a pair of Premier League midfielders stuck on the periphery at their current clubs.

While Tottenham are open to the idea of Jenas, 29, finding playing time away from White Hart Lane, they are only prepared to cover a percentage of the England international's salary. QPR will also expect Leeds to make a significant contribution to Derry's income.

Leeds, however, are one of the rare Championship clubs who keep wage costs significantly below turnover and are limited in the amounts they can offer.

Warnock has also proposed taking Sean Scannell on loan from Huddersfield Town, just two months after the Ireland B international joined the Championship club from Crystal Palace.

"We want to look - if we can financially - to bring another forward in because we're so thin," says Warnock, who has frequently talked about Leeds' straitened finances of late.

The 63-year-old spent part of the summer outlining his plans for an expensive restructuring of Leeds squad to Salem Patel, a broker representing a part-Bahraini consortium that tried to takeover the club.

Although a deal was agreed with Ken Bates to purchase his majority shareholding, the group failed to meet the payment terms by the July handover date and now seem unlikely to complete.

Bates is understood to be unimpressed by Warnock's activities in the transfer market, which have included several attempts to press Leeds' chairman into signing players.

According to several sources, Warnock has been dissatisfied with the resources available to him to secure promotion to the Premier League, and has discussed the possibility of walking out on the club.

Believable20 Unbelievable3

Thought NW contract was till the end of this season??

Agree0 Disagree0

This article was written by Duncan Castles, who would probably write that ER is sitting on top of an unexploded UFO power core if he thought it would cause the club some consternation. I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.
