Odds have shortened on brian mac becoming ireland manager paddy power from 16/1 to 12/5 and 20/1 to 6/1

Believable11 Unbelievable56

With Martin O'Neill at 11/10 on. It's not rocket science.

Agree2 Disagree0

I sincerely hope Brian doesn't go, The leeds job is a hard job, and a challenge, and he would have it easier in Ireland, but I hope his heart is like mine devoted to leeds united

Agree6 Disagree0

O'neill gone to 4to 6 hopefully keep mccdermot and o'neill take over ireland great manager. god bless the irish

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm hoping the Irish FA will go for O'Neill the experienced manager but I have a horrible feeling that they will go for BMcD. One of the reasons would be that he would want less money than O'Neill which after Trapatoni they are looking for a cheaper option. BMcD has made no secret of the fact he wants to manage Ireland and he may look at this as his only chance to get the job. I really hope he stays but I get the feeling that if he gets offered the job he will go

Thats also how I feel i'm only 14 but a die hard lufc fan and hopes he won't leave us for a job he won't be liked as much by the fans -Nath

Agree0 Disagree0

Brian won't leave leeds anytime soon I bumped into him last week and the man is a top bloke and wants to achieve something with this club just wish all are fans would turn up for more games to show him what this club is all about

Agree1 Disagree0

Cant see BM going anywhere, so soon after his arrival and with the job he is doing. He is the best manager we have had for a long time and think if he stays we will realistically be looking at being a Prem team again in next 2 years.

That said, if he did decide to go for the Ireland job, the guy suggesting Pulis could be who we need is bang on for me. Took an average team like Stoke from bottom Championship team into Europe, and would work wonders at Leeds if he came. although would rather keep Brian given the choice

Agree0 Disagree0

Pullis would be great if you enjoy giants kicking the ball long. No way not for me thanks

John Delaney, said he considers Brian McDermott to be a potential candidate to replace Trapattoni, following the Italian's departure as Republic of Ireland manager last night.
McDermott has said it is his ambition to manage Ireland.

If he goes we could go for Gus Poyet fingers crossed

Believable9 Unbelievable61

Ireland can shove off if that is their hope. McDermott is ours, and has started to build a team that we can all be proud of, and get behind. Reading did us the favour of sacking him - now he is ours.

Ireland can look elsewhere - Brian has unfinished club business - and that is with LUFC.

Agree5 Disagree2

Martin O'Neil has got to be favourite for the job

Agree4 Disagree0

You make it sound like you can't wait to see the back of BMD! keeping hold of McDermott is just as important than holding on to Ross was - if not more important! Bmd's philosophy and views on how to create a successful team are so refreshing and he's the best manager we have had in many a years! Not to mention his interaction with the fans and the relationship he's steadily building - a far cry from me Warnock!

prior to getting bmd I wanted gus to take over very much but now, the worst thing we could do is let Brian go (unless he really wants to). He will be a great success at Leeds if given the correct backing by the board and the fans! I can't believe you already have your fingers crossed to replace him with someone else!? Crazy!

MOT!

Agree6 Disagree0

Gus poyet is by far worse than mcdermott. check there management stats and atleast come up with someone who is better than brian. unbelievable

Agree4 Disagree0

Yeah let's get poyet back again and let him jump ship just like he did the last time no thanks

Agree5 Disagree0

Why fingers crossed for poyet mccdermott has done nowt wrong he's done really well so why would you be happy if he went

Agree2 Disagree0

I'd be happy with this being an Irish white or if gus poyet dosent come I'd take reberto di matteo

Agree0 Disagree1

How did Gus jump ship? when he was at the club he said he would manage the club in a flash if they offered it to him, as far as this rumor goes, would like to think that BMD would stay, however, should it transpire that he did leave, Poyet would be top of my list.

Agree0 Disagree2

Hands off our Brian Ireland, he is the best manager we have had for a long time and fits our club very well, please stay brian, Just like Ross did.

Agree2 Disagree0

Right job, wrong time. Brian has unfinished business here -and as a manager too, having only been a no 1 for 4 years, and having been sacked only half a year into his only season in the Prem. He will think it's a job for later in his career, once he's properly made his mark at club level -maybe a decade or so down the line. Brian is ambitious, and the Eire job isn't exactly one that's going to give him a guaranteed platform to achieve his ambitions. With all due respect, it's become a bit of a pre-retirement job (Charlton, Trappatoni) -which, to be fair, can equally be said about the England job (Hodgson, Capello), such is the pull of club football these days. As regards Poyet, if Brian were to leave anytime soon, then I'd jump at the chance to take Gus -he and Leeds would be a match made in heaven, I reckon. Having said which, Brian is doing very nicely thanks at the moment, and I have every confidence that he can bring success to the club. Chapel A

Agree2 Disagree0

Er hello McDermott said he would relish the chance to manage the Republic of Ireland 'one day' (his parents are Irish). That day - for him - is nowhere near. They will give the job to either Mick McCarthy, Martin O'Neill or Chris Hughton.

'Fingers crossed'! What a ridiculous thing to say. Do you actually have an understanding of the improvement that has taken place since Warnock and Bates left?

Agree2 Disagree0

So let's get this right, you say fingers crossed Gus ha that's funny. It's well known Gus would put him self progressing be4 any club.he Was asking Brighton to sign players who they couldn't aforde to buy. when the Brighton board said enough is enough ie Mc Smith 3.5 million, Buckley 1.2 million The argi lad ujoa 3 million all, Good players yes. But did Brighton get promoted no they did not. Gus took his bat and ball home. Give Brian half off the 7.7 million Gus spent on them 3 players and leeds would be promoted this year. Mark my words Gus would take the pi££ out off GFH and we would be left in the sh£t! Thank s good by P w

Agree1 Disagree0

If (God forbid) BMD does decide to leave, I seriously think, after seeing what he did at Stoke, that Tony Pulis could be worth a punt. He helped rebuild them from middle-of-the-road Championship club to promotion to Premiership, getting to a cup final and playing in Europe. What he did there was similar to what BMD is trying to do with us.

All that said, BMD is going nowhere!

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at the match in Dublin last week and bumped into Mc Dermott before the match. He is very strong on his Irish roots so would expect to see him there. We want O Neill or Big Mick. Its too early for Brian

Agree0 Disagree0

Brian is the only man for leeds simple as that so quit all the rubbish
