Long time family friend works in sports promotions told me today that the people who bought forest wanted leeds but found ownership of ground an issue apparently this has allowed the guys from bahrain an opportunity to invest in leeds but it is far from done deal,they could pull out also.

Loose ends are being tied up so dont talk crap.

From the look of there statement on Saturday. I would of been crying if they were the new owners. 3-5 yrs before they exspect to get back to the prem. I guess all them forest fans who said on this site and others, that we we're not a big anothe club to get bought off these guys. Need to get intouch with there chairman and demand the quicker sale of there fridges, as getting half the Kuwaity players to play for use on the cheap, does not say to me promotion season coming up. You'll be lucky to still be in the 3 division in 5 years with these set of jokers.

Actually this is about the only believeable rumour I've seen, this guy may well have looked at investing in Leeds, who knows for certain, or why (if he did) he pulled out - or maybe Bates kicked it into touch. You can't say he never looked at Leeds just because he bought Forest.

Loose ends MAY be being tied up, but it's STILL not done yet, so yes, actually it could all fail still, but hopefully the fact that we are now getting more players and staff in, it should be a fairly certain thing, just never say never!

Lets ALL hope for the good news soon, eh?

The reason he said a 3-5 yr plan is the same reason he didn't answer any questions bout how much there going to spend on players! If he turned round n said we expect to get promoted this season n spend 20mill everyone's valuation would of jumped up rediciously so they've done the right thing by keeping there cards close to there chest! Also the 3-5 yr plan was regarding a new stadium/expansion of the existing stadium and upgrading the youth facilities! Let forest worry bout the spending n Leeds get on with there freebies n oaps n spend that whole half a million transfer kitty I've been saving up for last 4yrs

All this means is that for the last 6 months they have been decided on Forest.

It does NOT mean they NEVER previously considered Leeds, or any OTHER team?

Buyers of Leeds could still pull out ?.... My friend...NW has been buying players in last weeks and I can assure you this didnt come from the purse of KB. Buyer quietly doing business without attention or big fanfare. Overcoming problems and getting the job done without bitching or walking away.... Why ? Because he's a Leeds fan and thats why he will be a big hit with us. MoT

It's plain to see they will need to get a new ground, you carn't keep playing in that rickety old barnyard of a ground. If they had good money to spend then why get players from Kuwaity league, that don't have a scooby doo about this league. Who's your new Manager Shaaaaagggyyyy.

Untill it becomes a FACT it isn't one, so stop keep saying it is!

NOBODY has taken over yet, and untill/if they do, then it WILL become a fact?

Like it says "It MAY be correct" it does not say "It DEFINITELY is correct" so it's NOT a FACT nor will it be unless it's confirmed on the OS (hopefully sometime soon!)

Leeds boss Neil Warnock is eyeing £3M Craig Mackail-Smith as the club continue talks with Bahraini investors.
Warnock sees Brighton's 28 year old Scotland international as the striker to fire Leeds into the Premier League and believes Brighton are willing to sell him.
Ken Bates has allowed Bahrain's Sheik Adduirhman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa to conduct due diligence on the club. (Mail on Sunday)

In the Championship he scored 1 goal every 4.3 games for Peterborough and for Brighton 1 goal every 5 matches. It is not a great strike rate. I hope we look for a more prolific striker

Ed is there any truth in this rumour as this actually excites me as he works so hard and i remember him bringing brighton back into the game against leeds when we played them away and he scored past us at ER {Ed013's Note - Paper talk at the minute I think}

Oh God please no. 3 million pounds on a player like that? as a previous poster put as prolific as Paynter and one of the most overrated players in the game . We could sign 4 very good players for that much money.

Only if Ross McCormack goes in the other direction as a bit part of a part exchange deal ... would be good business for Leeds if it happened.

Good player but not worth £3million. He was on the bench a lot last season

Would be a cracking signing, and perfect foil for Becchio.Changed the game last season at ER when he came off the bench.

Would have to find £3M from some where for starters,Honestly dont think anywhere near that will be spent putting the rest of this seasons squad together, and thats even if we get a good sum for McCormack.

So apparently Austin is staying with his current club until the end of July?

So a couple of weeks for someone else to pip us to his signature then?

Why is everything so long and drawn out for us, every single time?

Lets hope this lad has signed a pre contract for us and honours it.

The fee 4 him comes down if he stays till july 31st. He is coming.

Funny how no-ne has rushed to sign him before we showed interest. A few highlights on youtube don't make him a great player.

They've said if he finishes the season for them we can have home for a cheaper price, we've probably already signed him.

If you did your homework you may find he played his last game yesterday (sunday) - just maybe? Nothing says he has to stay to the end.....

Well if we listen to what each other has to say we can make sense of the situation. Sounds like they have about 3 games left till august which is when the norwegian transfer window opens, so if they can hold on to him till then they can get a replacment. Hope he signs seems to be solid and have pace which we need more of.
