Check out y** T*** he wears number 5 and as he scores and turns his back the letters MOT appear at the bottom of his shirt........is it a sign, hope so he looks like a no nonsense kind of player.

Long time family friend works in sports promotions told me today that the people who bought forest wanted leeds but found ownership of ground an issue apparently this has allowed the guys from bahrain an opportunity to invest in leeds but it is far from done deal, they could pull out also.

Believable10 Unbelievable9

Loose ends are being tied up so dont talk crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

Deal is done. Forest new owners never looked into LUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

From the look of there statement on Saturday. I would of been crying if they were the new owners. 3-5 yrs before they exspect to get back to the prem. I guess all them forest fans who said on this site and others, that we we're not a big anothe club to get bought off these guys. Need to get intouch with there chairman and demand the quicker sale of there fridges, as getting half the Kuwaity players to play for use on the cheap, does not say to me promotion season coming up. You'll be lucky to still be in the 3 division in 5 years with these set of jokers.
PPPPHHHHEEEEEWWWW!!!
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually this is about the only believeable rumour I've seen, this guy may well have looked at investing in Leeds, who knows for certain, or why (if he did) he pulled out - or maybe Bates kicked it into touch. You can't say he never looked at Leeds just because he bought Forest.

Loose ends MAY be being tied up, but it's STILL not done yet, so yes, actually it could all fail still, but hopefully the fact that we are now getting more players and staff in, it should be a fairly certain thing, just never say never!

Lets ALL hope for the good news soon, eh?

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

Forest owners never looked at Leeds. They spent last 6months building their house in Nottingham. Completely unrelated to Leeds in anyway. Source: building company!

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason he said a 3-5 yr plan is the same reason he didn't answer any questions bout how much there going to spend on players! If he turned round n said we expect to get promoted this season n spend 20mill everyone's valuation would of jumped up rediciously so they've done the right thing by keeping there cards close to there chest! Also the 3-5 yr plan was regarding a new stadium/expansion of the existing stadium and upgrading the youth facilities! Let forest worry bout the spending n Leeds get on with there freebies n oaps n spend that whole half a million transfer kitty I've been saving up for last 4yrs

Agree0 Disagree0

"Forest owners never looked at Leeds. They spent last 6months building their house in Nottingham"

All this means is that for the last 6 months they have been decided on Forest.

It does NOT mean they NEVER previously considered Leeds, or any OTHER team?

Agree0 Disagree0

Buyers of Leeds could still pull out ?.... My friend...NW has been buying players in last weeks and I can assure you this didnt come from the purse of KB. Buyer quietly doing business without attention or big fanfare. Overcoming problems and getting the job done without bitching or walking away.... Why ? Because he's a Leeds fan and thats why he will be a big hit with us. MoT

Agree0 Disagree0

It's plain to see they will need to get a new ground, you carn't keep playing in that rickety old barnyard of a ground. If they had good money to spend then why get players from Kuwaity league, that don't have a scooby doo about this league. Who's your new Manager Shaaaaagggyyyy.
GOOD LUCK!!

heard a rumour from a guy living in manchester that fergie is open to sending nick powell on loan to a championship side with big followings each week and tipped for promotion to enable him to get used to what he'll get at scum

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Cant see Fergie sending us any aid to be honest.

TeejLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a good signing but there is no way Fergie would let him come to leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Fergie wouldn't lend us a pen never mind a player!

Andy

Agree0 Disagree0

He would'nt loan us kusczhak so why would he loan us powell?

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance of that! When Lonergan got injured around October and when we realised how woeful Rachubka is we tried to loan Tomasz Kuszczak from them and he woudln't permit it, no chance, he hates us!

Agree0 Disagree0

He loaned us Liam Miller a few years ago but apart from that I can't think of any more he's loaned to us. He probably still hasn't got over January 3rd.

Agree0 Disagree0

All true comments. In fact when has Fergie EVER sent a player to us on loan? I certainly cant remember.

Cant wait for him to retire to be honest.......

Bahrain IAA now say."It may be correct the person in question is involved in a takeover bid for the club with financial investors
not a rumour fact

Believable7 Unbelievable5

This would appear to be true. Source: The Scratching Shed via news now

Agree0 Disagree0

Untill it becomes a FACT it isn't one, so stop keep saying it is!

NOBODY has taken over yet, and untill/if they do, then it WILL become a fact?

Agree0 Disagree0

Like it says "It MAY be correct" it does not say "It DEFINITELY is correct" so it's NOT a FACT nor will it be unless it's confirmed on the OS (hopefully sometime soon!)

Leeds boss Neil Warnock is eyeing £3M Craig Mackail-Smith as the club continue talks with Bahraini investors.
Warnock sees Brighton's 28 year old Scotland international as the striker to fire Leeds into the Premier League and believes Brighton are willing to sell him.
Ken Bates has allowed Bahrain's Sheik Adduirhman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa to conduct due diligence on the club. (Mail on Sunday)

Believable11 Unbelievable9

In the Championship he scored 1 goal every 4.3 games for Peterborough and for Brighton 1 goal every 5 matches. It is not a great strike rate. I hope we look for a more prolific striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed is there any truth in this rumour as this actually excites me as he works so hard and i remember him bringing brighton back into the game against leeds when we played them away and he scored past us at ER {Ed013's Note - Paper talk at the minute I think}

Agree0 Disagree0

WOW mail on sunday really up with the breaking story about due diligence lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy Painter scored against us and we took him on, say no more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh God please no. 3 million pounds on a player like that? as a previous poster put as prolific as Paynter and one of the most overrated players in the game . We could sign 4 very good players for that much money.

TeejLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

If we are spending 3mill on a striker id like someone a lot better that Mackail Smith.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree if were gonna spend 3m on a striker we can get better players than him. I say get beckford back

Agree0 Disagree0

You are still believing what 'the papers say' rather than what is happening in reality?

Until I hear anything straight from Warnock, or on the OS everything else is just pure speculation....

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

Were not going to spend 3m on any player let alone cms

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford and MacKail together sounds good to me! Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

If were going to spend 3 mil on a player we want gradel back at least .

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone should know this is a load of rubbish just by the price tag Leeds dont spend that kinda money wen they don't have it

Agree0 Disagree0

" Leeds dont spend that kinda money wen they don't have it"

And exactly how do you know what the takeover will bring, then?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly, it sounds more and more like we aint got 3 quid, let alone 3 million. Chin up Lads :) we still have Brown MOT

Warnock reported to be tracking Craig Mackail-Smith according to my feed this morning. Now that's a signing which would excite me. A quality player, even if he does have a tendency to fall down a bit too easily in the box. Still, I'd rather he was winning dodgy penalties for us than anybody else...

Believable9 Unbelievable10

McCormack is better than him and scores more goals, what did he get last season....10

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt surprise me , his a top player but struggled with our style of play. If he does go to you, be excited coz he slots into your style he be banging them in all season ! Posh fans still speak highly off him , he always gives 100 % on the pitch even when not scoring his worth playing. Hope he stays here ..................but who knows

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree McCormack's strike rate in The Championship is far better than Mackail-Smith's

Agree0 Disagree0

More dangerous than McCormack -a proper striker. Mac is a difficult player to accommodate, for all his skill, as both Cardiff and ourselves have discovered -not really quick enough to play off a slow, traditional target man like Becchio; and likewise not really nimble enough for the wing; and not physical enough to play as a lone striker. Shame, as we all recognise his qualities -but at this point we have be very focused and ruthless even in our team building. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

He started well at brighton but faded as the season went on,i feel this signing would only work if we signed george boyd aswell but he certainly isnt worth 3m!! 1.5m is nearer the mark for me(markymafia)

Agree0 Disagree0

Comment 1 ... better to judge it on time on the park rather than the total goals scored. He didn't do too badly against us last term ... a couple of goals and a penalty assist. However, the only way it will happen is as a factor in a part exchange deal ... Ross going the other way

Agree0 Disagree0

Good call on George Boyd by previous respondent -then we'd have one exciting forward line! Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

craig mackail-smith linked with leeds worth around 3mill?!

Believable10 Unbelievable15

Only if Ross McCormack goes in the other direction as a bit part of a part exchange deal ... would be good business for Leeds if it happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player but not worth £3million. He was on the bench a lot last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be a cracking signing, and perfect foil for Becchio.Changed the game last season at ER when he came off the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would have to find £3M from some where for starters,Honestly dont think anywhere near that will be spent putting the rest of this seasons squad together, and thats even if we get a good sum for McCormack.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring it on! A genuine striker -what we need. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he is slow and no better than rosco i think we would be better going for ewbanks blake or lita.

Over in Doha Qatar and just had business with a mate who reckons Akbar Al Baker CEO Qatar Airways are and have been for a while looking for a big club with a big history in England to invest in like Etihad at Arsenal. Long shot but it's the Middle East
Lenboy

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Come on get your facts right, ethiad is Man City, and emirates is Arsenal.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wrote this late at night on my iphone to get it out asap, I didn't realise the Leeds rumours police would be down on a simple mistake. It doesn't change the source of the rumour.
Lenboy

So apparently Austin is staying with his current club until the end of July?

So a couple of weeks for someone else to pip us to his signature then?

Why is everything so long and drawn out for us, every single time?

Believable20 Unbelievable7

Lets hope this lad has signed a pre contract for us and honours it.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

This deal will be sown up by the end of next week Warnock didn't let this out of the bag without knowing the dead is as good as done

Tog

Agree0 Disagree0

He's out of contract in December so why would he stay there till July, where's your source

Agree0 Disagree0

SK Brann want him to finish the season, only got 3 games left. Why dont you do your homework before you post things on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

The fee 4 him comes down if he stays till july 31st. He is coming.

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny how no-ne has rushed to sign him before we showed interest. A few highlights on youtube don't make him a great player.

Agree0 Disagree0

They've said if he finishes the season for them we can have home for a cheaper price, we've probably already signed him.

Agree0 Disagree0

The norweigan league ends in december not 3 weeks . hopefully we will get him soon

Agree0 Disagree0

Norweigan league finishes in december . why dont you do your homework before you post things on here

Agree0 Disagree0

Norways transfer market opens in aug thats why the delay they will need to replace him

Agree0 Disagree0

He will have signed a pre-contractual agreement and the money will have been transferred straight away.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's very easy to trot out the old "anyone could look good on YouTube". Adam Clayton could play for the next hundred years and you wouldn't see him doing what Austin does in those clips.

Agree0 Disagree0

"SK Brann want him to finish the season, only got 3 games left. Why dont you do your homework before you post things on here."

If you did your homework you may find he played his last game yesterday (sunday) - just maybe? Nothing says he has to stay to the end.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Well if we listen to what each other has to say we can make sense of the situation. Sounds like they have about 3 games left till august which is when the norwegian transfer window opens, so if they can hold on to him till then they can get a replacment. Hope he signs seems to be solid and have pace which we need more of.

I respect the fact that Andy Lonerghan might not want to sit on the bench whilst Paddy Kenny gets most of the games but he's contracted until 2014. Surely it makes more sense to keep him and make him fight for his place rather than sell him for a measly 200k (especially to one of our promotion rivals). After all the Prem league is worth 40 - 80 mill.
jt-lufc

Believable14 Unbelievable5

I think thats why Warnock said i'm goin to sit down and have a chat with him. If he does go to Bolton, he would only be doin the same thing. I say keep him, he'ld make a great number 2.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Promotion rivals as if your in with a shout no take over no money relegation fight for you

Agree0 Disagree0

He wouldnt make a great no5 get rid
nw has a history of only going with one keeper may as well have a decent one

Agree0 Disagree0

No takeover no money for you ? why come on another clubs site . i bet you support a team that has never caught anyones imagination , passion or loyalty outside of your town or immidiate surrounding area . get a life

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock doesn't usually have a keeper on the bench but maybe he will now we are allowed 7 subs on the bench so would be worthwhile keeping him

Agree0 Disagree0

You only want to be selling Lonergan if you can get half a mill for him. Otherwise, I'd keep him too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we have let another players walk out on us for free we dont need anymore

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, Lonerghan should be kept on, if at all possible. Whatever happens we don't want to be selling decent players to championship rivals. Selling Clayton, to me, was OK but not to a championship side.

If he was as good as he thought he was, why were there no premiership sides interested?

Ps that was a rhetorical question...lol!

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

No, sell him, good pro and nice guy, but sadly flawed -get Alex Mac or another talented young keeper to be groomed to step into Kenny's shoes a year or so down the line. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

"I think we have let another players walk out on us for free we dont need anymore"

Not sure who you are referring to, but if it really is a player we don't actually want, then it's best to let them go on a free and get rid of their wages cost?

Lonergan won't be going anywhere on a free with two years of his contract left?

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotta say i agree with Chaple A. we need a younger player to be understudy, not an established keeper. while i don't agree with selling lonners to another championship club i think it is the right think to do
