The Mirror says that Bolton are looking at Wilfred Zaha. Now whether we can afford wages etc etc, we ARE head and shoulders above Bolton as a club, and it seems that only clubs like Bolton, reading, Blackburn etc are able to bid for players like that. I wish the board has some faith in the stature of the club and allowed us to bid for players like that. We are easily the biggest club in the championship. Unbelievable!

Don't forget, we have mc Cormack, and diouf in these positions??. but I do agree with you. neil.

Being a "big" club as you put it doesn't really count for anything nowadays, the reason they can go for these players is simply windfall payments. and to be perfectly honest the "big" part is up for debate (im sure the hate will flow in) but think realistically to yourself what sells leeds united to a player like that? is it the poor form, poor players shocking board management over the last decade - or the nail in the coffin realy, the mid/bottom table championship team?

Would like to think if we brought in a couple of quality loans that the Leeds public would respond by coming in bigger numbers to help finance the wages

not sure he'd choose us after getting a ban for making obscene gestures to our fans last year!

Agree1 Disagree0

We might be a bigger club but we certainly are not better. We are going nowhere when teams like Reading are pushing for promotion. People need to face facts we are just average and not the club we once were.

Agree2 Disagree0

Well get them out of those positions then because they are not doing there jobs, so put someone in who will do the job, saying that we still have the same problem with Peltier, Drury, Lees, Varney, Brown, Tonge, White, Norris & Pugh, how can you have SO MUCH DEADWOOD in a squad???

Agree3 Disagree0

The size of the club is irrelevant if we can't afford the wages. The reason that the Bolton, Blackburn et al are bidding for the likes of Zaha is either that they can afford his wages or are spending money they don't have. and we all know where that leads!

Agree1 Disagree0

Zaha was really good at portman road last night, ain't he Newcastle bound though? MOT

The sooner some Leeds fans stop living in the past, the better. Get in the real world. We are now a very mediocre ( At best ) team that will be in the bottom third of the Championship. We have no real money, no real ambition, just a load of false hope & false promises. Seriously, what half decent player in their right mind would want to come to Leeds right now?!

Agree5 Disagree0

Its quite simple they have money from being in the prem we have no money

I'm the original poster, and I agree with all the above and think everyone is right in what they are saying.

Who would have thought this 13/14 years ago eh? Bolton, Blackburn, Reading etc attracting bigger players than us.

We will be great again! We will get it right soon . Fingers crossed. MOT

Rumoured that McDermott also went and spoke with John Guidetti of Man City in Manchester the day he watched Will Keane. MOT

Believable32 Unbelievable18

Yes it's probably untrue but if it wasn't . statement of intent it would be! He is class

Agree1 Disagree0

I bet Guidetti does not even know who Leeds are

Agree2 Disagree1

Went & spoke about what?
The fact that Guidetti is still nowhere near ready to play competitive football or the fact that according to this post you can go & chat to any player you like without bothering to go through their club first.
In short;
Guidetti would be nice, but no way is it happening.

Agree0 Disagree1

Nowhere near ready for competitive football.

What about those 20 goals in the Dutch top division last season . deary me!

Agree0 Disagree0

That was the season before and he's been injured since then- deary me
