My mate in America is hearing rumours of a link up between NY Red bulls, or whatever they are called and us. I don't know if the Americans are putting 2 and 2 together and getting 50 as they always do, with us being linked with an investment by Red Bull and them already being sponsored by them or there is something in this, possibly something that will happen if or when Red Bull do throw some money our way.

Leeds set to sign young man United striker will keane before Sunday's game at Birmingham
Bmc has been knocked back. nice try though m8
Im slowly running out of faith in McDermott, can't sign this player, clubs are kicking me back with approaches etc etc. Well then, how come other clubs can manage it!, I see Lita has gone to Brighton today. If The Board and McDermott had pulled there finger out early days in the window we could have had a couple of players in the bag, or is it the money issue again! Something is not right if we can't afford or get players to come to Leeds. Still MOT and still going to Hudderfield.
Sam.
Yip sounds about right poster 2 . If it ain't bluffing the it's very worrying. 7

We need a striker who can score goals NOW not in 2/3 seasons time. Vaz Te, Guidetti, Carlton Cole are all availaible.
Who says they are available?
Cole has signed a short term contract back at West ham!
Grow up Sam, "I'm slowly running out of faith in McDermott" . perhaps Brian McDermott does not rate, or want the players being signed by "other clubs". He has said, on numerous occasions, that he would only bring in players that he thought would add something to the Leeds United squad.
I would far rather see him give the young Academy players an opportunity than bring in someone chosen by the fans . unless of course it's Lionel Messi.

In reply to JDC :
He would only bring in players that would add something to the Leeds Utd squad -
Well, the way we are playing this season, i'd say anybody, from anywhere, would add something to this squad and improve us.
We are woeful.
It is going to be a long, long season with nothing but a relegation battle.
The fact is, BMD has had plenty of time & opportunity to get players in.
They say the money is there & they are actively looking, so what's the problem?!
Either it's more BS & there isn't actually any money ( NAP ).
Or, alternatively, players just don't want to come to Leeds, and who can blame them.
New owners, new manager, same old BS.

Anyone else thought that maybe a player might be brought into the club thursday/friday? Maximise amount of days player can stay at the club? just a thought.
According to BMD is it not likely, we are astruggeling to find someone availeble for loan. Surprised? NO.
Struggling to loan player, struggling to buy players, do you see the theme, struggling.New owners same soundbite.why aren't these players who are deadwood not released, even mutually terminating there contracts would save some money. Or is Mcdermot just supposed to use them as they are here?A long season this will be, Struggling. Why the pessimism you may ask?Give us a reason to be cheerful . Can anyone seriously say we have a better team than last year?Better manager in my opinion, worse team. look what happened last year, not far from bring relegated, wasnt due to our better start to the season. If anyone compares Readings team that was promoted due to a late run, to what they hope will be repeated for us, wake up!really. I aplaud your optimism, I however am a realist, it will be a long fight against relegation. I truly hope I am wrong .
We won't sign anybody this week, we will wait until January when GFH hope somebody will invest and pay for the players. It makes me laugh that we keep been told how hard it is yet Barnsley and other smaller clubs seem to be able to pull a loan deal off. GFH take your lies and false promises and shove them where the sun don't shine. I'd rather have Risdale back with his goldfish than this bunch of clowns.
Love the negativity from all the "fans". So bored of reading the same comments over and over. The board have said money's available, BMD has said he's looking for the right player and won't get someone for the sake of it. Yes there's deadwood at the club and yes it's a long way shy of being a team that will be promoted. But both GFH and BMD have said it's a two year project. Leave all the negative comments about Leeds to the other clubs and just get behind them. And for the chump who rates Ridsdale over GFH, you really need to wake up. Who's fault is it that the club is in the position/league that they are in now? GFH will get us back there, maybe slowly, but surely.
Can the goldfish play on the wing or upfront? Sign him up!
Although he will probably get a better deal from Blackpool, Liverpool or Hartlepool!
Post 3 after what ridsdale did to us! are you a sc*m fan? Ridsdale put us where we are today regardless of bates not getting us out of it and other managers along the way.
Terminate their contracts to save money?. If the players don't want to leave the only way to terminate their contracts is to pay them off in full. The only way terminating contracts will save money is if the players want to take a 'cut price' payoff so they can play regularly at another club.
Stop believing FM is like real life, because its not.
To the last poster who plays FM, I will give u a simple maths lesson.now please try and follow, player A has 2 years of contract left on let's keep it simple for you £4000 a week, equates to£208,000 a year, ££416, 00over 2 years, LUFC pay him 1, years £208,000.He can then sign for Aldershot who can the pay him £208,000 over 2 years, plus a little signing on fee.He gets 1st team football instead of Leeds reserves, wi win, saving LUFC £208,000.Did u follow that?Easy really, Its called business. Know you can get back to FM, or get your calculator out!
I disagree, because the deadwood that we want to offload on loan wouldn't even get first team football at the likes of Aldershot, that's how poor they are.
Well we are in real trouble then:-( as I said originally.
Ok Mr business man. Let's say for instance that the player doesn't want to go to a team who will pay him the same over 2 years that leeds are paying in a year, and would rather play in the reserves and make his money. Please tell me how we can terminate his contract and not pay it off in full
The deadwood at leeds have less than 1 year contract left and I'm sure no other team will pay anywhere near wages they are getting at Leeds. I guess the players will be happy to do nothing for 8 months or so and collect their wages until their contracts run out
Lets imagine player A realises that over 2 years he will make £416,000 at Leeds, but if Leeds pay him off for one year at £208,000 and then Aldershot pay him the same amount over a further 2 years, then he will make the same amount in 2 years rather than 3 years if he moved. This is why I said unless the player is willing to terminate his contract. If he isn't then there is nothing the club can do. You may be good at maths, but you need to improve your reading skills.
Player A has 2 years of his contract left, Leeds pay him a years wages, he leaves!without playing a year at Leeds, he the signs for another team for 2 years, He earns the same amount in 2 years wether he plays in Leeds reserves for 2 years or someones 1st team. My reading skills are fine thank you very much, just saying wouldn't player prefer to earn same amount over 2 years playing football.
Over 2 years player A earns the same money!! Think b4 you post. he may want to play in the reserves at Leeds for a couple years, so maybe our 2 year plan may be extended! Just saying positive action is required just my opinion by the way .
Your maths and reading skills may be up to scratch but your common sense has found somewhere else to live . your figures assume that the player in question can find another club. If he can't, he's better off where he is until the end of his contract.

I just gave a passionate opinion, based on my experience as an ex probfootballer, not a well known 1, but a pro all the same, I have an insight into how these things work. I have heard the it said the club need to rid itself of some players before new ones can come in, I think my suggestion was based on common sense, not what ifs.I don't claim to know the answer to our woes, but I suggest you try get some common sense or stick to listening to an opinion thinking, before you engage your common sense. have a good evening.
You must be one rich person, because I'm sure every club in the land must approach you to get their crap unwanted players off their books using your experience as a ex pro-footballer.
I'm surprised you have the time to answer rumours on a site such as this.
Wouldnt say rich, but comfortable, and my advice an opinions are free. they have agents for that, now they are rich :-)
To be fair,
Why would the "deadwood" want to leave? They are getting game time, they are getting paid, and they get another year of Leeds united before signing for rubbish like them tossers in Sheffield.
FYI, I'm not an ex pro myself, i'm actually awful at playing, my maths is about average, and my common sense disappeared about the same time as the goldfish
