FYI. Listening to Johnny Giles on Irish radio this morning (he has new book out ) and he was asked did he think Leeds would get back to the Premiership. Answer was "Yes if they get the investment that is rumoured but at the moment the stumbling block seems to be the Chairman Mr Bates. Leeds are a massive team and with the fan base they have they should be in the top flight "

Only stating what the dogs in the street know but nice to hear it from a true Leeds legend.

The original consortium behind GFH-C were said to be absolutely loaded. I'm sorry to say that by all accounts they are no longer at the table, furious that Bates effectively messed about and wouldn't close the deal before the summer transfer window closed.

GFH-C are a separate entity to their parent company GFH, and it is of the latter that all of the articles have been written. They must have at least £52m and I don't see why they would buy a football club with no assets to strip. They must want to take us to the Premier League or there would be no point.

Everything will be fine and hopefully things will be sorted out by next friday

Stop reading the trovel LUST put out.
GFH diss LUST so what are LUST going to do, the exact same.

Agree0 Disagree1

Getting a real bad feeling about this now, these 'delaying lawyers' is this a ruse to buy time for GHF to raise capital? The report out yesterday about past practices by GHF do not inspire me one bit and although I hate Bates I would hate to do a portsmouth. We have no assets really just a massive fan base. Think we should look elsewhere for a new buyer now.

When you say " by all accounts" do you mean Duncan Castles spouting garbage on tw****r? Let's not jump to the disastrous conclusions he routinely spews just yet: and by the logic of these posts, isn't there more likelihood that loaded members of GFH or GFH-C or whomever would come onboard in the future once Bates has gone? None of us, Duncan Castles included, knows who exactly is behind the deal or what they might be worth. In the club's early summer statement it was made clear that KB et al were "very comfortable" with the resources available to the potential new owners who would also not have any problem passing the fit & proper persons test. Things have progressed very slowly - that is true - and into that vacuum of information all sorts of mad rumours have been thrown. But if we accept that a large delay was actually due to religious holidays in Bahrain, or if we expect that David Haigh is to be the new chairman, it is also reasonable to expect that he couldn't for instance just down tools in Dubai and move to Leeds in the matter of a few days. Of course, now I've made this point some eejit will come on claiming their sister works for an estate agents in Leeds and David Haigh has been in with them regularly looking at properties in Yorkshire...

Agree0 Disagree1

Everything will turn out ok
gfh have the capital/money to buy lufc 10 times over - plus backing from the main group. other investors outside gfh are also backing gfh - lufc would not entertain anyone, who did not have the capital or money to buy them. just sit back and enjoy whats to come at the end of october/january transfer window.

Agree0 Disagree1

Nothing to do with LUST. There was an article yesterday on Reuters. GFC tried to buy a Turkish bank last year, but were turned down for having insufficient financial clout. Maybe they can afford to buy Leeds, but there is no way of verifying this by looking at their operations over the past few years. They may also just be a subsidiary of a larger company, but if the parent company went down it would still have an affect.

Agree1 Disagree0

Seriously some of us Leeds fans are ridiculous. We find out we're getting a takeover then start whining its not good enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

People are a bit desperate and blinkered here. They are so anti-Bates that they believe that somehow driving the club back into administration will force his hand. They blame him for not making the TO happen but from what I understand, and this seems to be increasingly backed up from the press, if someone would come to the table with funds, the deal would be done. In the meantime, whoever owns Leeds Utd, the club can only survive, progress and be attractive to potential investors if the fans get on with demonstrating their support for the club. Stop obsessing about a takeover which may or may not happen and get on with positive support of the team and club!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm a forest fan and the amount of times I've heard the forest owners don't have money is untrue when they obviously have its just jealous fans so I wouldn't take notice the new Leeds owners must have money it's not like there only going to have say 100 mill n spend most of that on a football club

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi all Don't usally post but for those worring about GFHC, Bates would NOT of enertaind them if they did'nt prove they had the funds he turned others away before Keep the faith Beeston White
