just been in wine bar (nice bottle of chardonnay) 's spoke with roqua's Dad
Will be coming to Leeds if can make wages right not a lot to do as City will pay most {Ed025's Note - had one too many ..me thinks..

Believable6 Unbelievable12

Keep taking the tablets just like the doctor said......

Agree0 Disagree0

You recognise Roque's dad but can't even spell his name .... jog on

Agree0 Disagree0

What a coincidence I was in a wine bar and met Roque's Mum. She wanted me to tell you that however much you offer her per week, she is NEVER doing THAT. If you don't leave her alone she's calling the cops. Bad luck :0(

Agree0 Disagree0

I may be wrong - I've been following Leeds United for forty years but maybe I don't know anything about the game - but if Roque Santa Kruse is a gleam in Simon Grayson's eye, I'm a dutchman. The whole rumour stems from Roque's father trying to drum up interest in his son's rapidly-fading career, and lazy journalists copying stories they can't be bothered to verify. On Tuesday Leeds trounced Hull without last season's top four goal-scorers (and without Billy Paynter.....) It will be a real problem for Simon Grayson on Sunday - does he leave out Nunez and damage the morale of a player who's developing into a star? Does he leave out his captain, Howson? Does he leave out Gradel, a stir up rumours of him leaving? Never mind all this stuff about "it's a nice problem to have" - it's a problem - get it wrong, and Grayson may lose the loyalty of one of his best players. The thought that Grayson might want to complicate matters further by adding an ageing, injury-prone Santa Kruse to the mix is inconceivable, and the supporters who advocate this can't count - we're really not allowed to field twelve strikers, you know. But, there again, maybe I don't know anything about football.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said to the last post. I would leave Gradel on the bench and start with Nunez.. In fact I would start with same 11 as Hull game.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not leave gradel on the bench-purely due to his contract situation. We can't afford to upset him at the moment, but hey that's the management/boards fault, they should never have let his contract reach this situation

Agree0 Disagree0

Why change a winning team? (expect for the captain) Keep confidence in the players who gave us a positive performance and more importantly a first win. The only player who I feel is undroppable is Howson, was never a red card last week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are you people saying you no santers dad quiet disturbing get a life. i bet you all the tea in china we wont be getting mr cruze he will go to sven.
drop mcormack for gradel and brown for howson mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly nobody has noticed the original poster has a time machine as the last time anyone was in a "wine bar" was the late 80's/early 90's and finally as for the team on sunday I would either bring howson in for brown or keep to the same 11 that started against Hull, Tuesday's performance was the best team perforfance I have witnessed at Elland Road in a long time. Keogh and Mcormack were awesome

i think it was 14 players in heeeheee super sven as per usual, absolutley shocking manager. Heard the rumour about too many cooks spoil the broth, well sven's broth ain't even soup.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

It really is sh*t or bust for Sven at Leicester.

I think if we all admit it, deep down us Leeds fans have a slight bit of jealousy over the amounts of cash that have been spent there. I'm not advocating throwing money at a problem to solve it - as it appears down there - I'd be happy with a fraction of Leicester's transfer kitty being spent on players at Elland Road.

can't believe all the negativity surrounding the possible loan signing of santa cruz, first of all wages aren't the issue has we have seen city are willing to pay wages for players to go out on loan i.e bellamy to cardiff last season, then there's the case of his goalscoring abillity, his aerial threat and his actual presence in the oppositions box would scare the death out of most defenders and goalkeepers, have some faith and hope bullard comes to leeds too, a real character and would be brilliant for the development for our young players at ER...

MOT

Believable12 Unbelievable8

Totally agree both would be excellent signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Have you seen him play regularly over the past couple of years then, even his own fans hopes he comes to Leeds,or ANYWHERE,hes not as good as what weve already got, presence my arse.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spoken like a true arm chair fan, how have we got better than santa cruz you muppet

Agree0 Disagree0

Pure speculation from his dad. I see no announcement by Leeds indicating their interest

Agree0 Disagree0

And then there's the fact that the bloke hasn't been physically fit for eons...

Agree0 Disagree0

Santa Cruz is not coming to Leeds. There has never been any mention of him or Leeds being interested in a deal. It stems from his father saying the championship has some big clubs in it, and naming Leeds as one of them. It is pure fantasy to think that we're going to sign him. As for Bullard, well I'd rather not. He's unfit, injury prone and causes disharmony within a squad. Do we honestly need a player like that? I think not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its just his dad who also happens to be his agent throwing his name around so clubs realise hes available and not dead as nobodies heard of him for ages. dont need him we need defenders cb and Lb

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you all completely stupid Just because teams like Cardiff can afford Bellamy and Leicester can afford Yakubu on loan...does not mean Leeds can afford anyone. you have brought in O'Dea and Keogh for gods sake Bates will spend no money - the whole world knows that.

Lastly read the bleeding article on SSN. His dad simply says he would drop to the CCC where there are big clubs like Leeds. He doe snot say he wants to move to Leeds. Simply that the CCC is a respectable league to play in. Stop living in dreamland your an embarrasment to football

Agree0 Disagree0

Santa Cruz maybe but definitely not Bullard. People who keep declaring Leeds are an embarrasment to football because of discussion over a link in the press need to get a life. If we're so insignificant why do you all care so much?

Agree0 Disagree0

Because its not a link..its pure fantasy. You may as well say Leeds are going to get Messi - its literally that stupid that your an embarresment

a REALISTIC link may be something like: 'Ken Bates is going to answer to the calls from the Leeds faithful by digging into his pocket and snapping up Ashley Chambers from York City. Grayson is said to have been a long time admirer of the winger and hopes he will be the second winger from the Leicester academy to shine at Elland Road. However wages appear to be a stumbling block - as Chambers is currently on £325/week

Agree0 Disagree0

You're a huddersfield or barnsley fan aren't you, if not why don't you enlighten us and tell us all who you follow, give is a good giggle

Roque Santa cruz to Leeds at William hills and coral has been slashed from 12/1 this morning to 5/1 now Very much a fact a no gossip

Believable10 Unbelievable10

I think you'll find its very much gossip. fact means when something is true. if it was a fact you wouldn't be able to place a bet. if you want the bigger boys to explain this with smaller words let me know

Agree0 Disagree0

So since the bookies slash the odds that makes something a fact? You need to sort your head out if that's your thinking At then end of the day the bookies work as much on rumour as anyone else

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will find bookies ain't always right wasn't it a month ago smiths price got slashed 1/2 and were is he now

Agree0 Disagree0

No i think what you'll find mate is that it's speculation based on gossip based on adding 2 and 2 and getting 22 from what they player's dad was translated as having said...not exactly scientific is it?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he means 'the odds have been slashed' and that, indeed, is a fact. He doesn't mean it's a fact that he's signing.....

Agree0 Disagree0

The slashing of the odds on Sata Cruz has nothing to do with him actually coming to Leeds.
This is a Bookmakers ploy to pry more money out of punters wallets. By cutting the odds like this punters think that the bookies are onto something therfore take the bet. When in fact if the bookies did know something the ods would go from 5 to 1 against to 3 to1 of 5 to 1 ON. Dont be fooled its a marketing ploy. How do I know you ask, My son is a Bookie.

Roque santa Cruz is not coming (No, he's not waiting for a long session of foreplay from KB)

Apparaently there's only enough room for ONE santa at ER. And we're stuck with him

(Rumour was a non starter anyway, going to a pretend premier team I reckon)

If he does come I'll send my Christmas list to the chairman.........

Leeds Will not get Jimmy Bullard we wont wannt him and santa cruz will not join leeds due to man city want a sale loan option is only a thought

Believable7 Unbelievable11

18 Aug 2011 13:52:36
Let's get Jimmy Bullard ans Santa Cruz two quality players

Believable18 Unbelievable9

Seriously jimmy "im over rated and over paid" bullard? you are having a laugh and as for santa cruz he wasn't linked with his club by anyone. If people read the article correctly sky said that he said there are big clubs in the championship with big stadiums such as Leeds. That's all that was said not that he was having talks to come here but everyone is putting 2 & 2 together to make 10

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said we were linked with him, the fact that he has stated how big we are we should make a statement of intent. As for bullard you have a short memory he saved fulham from getting relegated two seasons ago. Do you remember Wigan he destroyed us mate in championship. Memory serves me right 4 did he nor setup up and score the one goal against Aston villa yeah overrated person head read your history MORON

Agree0 Disagree0

Read the article you plonker Santa cruz's dad is the one that mentions Leeds as having history and a big stadium etc nothing from the player about Leeds If all it takes is for a players dad to mention Leeds for people to get giddy in there pants about coming to our club let's hope messi's dad and ronaldo's mention Leeds too

Agree0 Disagree0

As I said we should make a statement of intent the fact that we are not in for him and our name is mentioned shows want a great club we are, or are you a c**t fan? Gone quite on Jimmy Bullard though because he is quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

But his Dad is also his agent... so it'll get him into talks.

My mates dad is ian miller and he said that manchester city have said that they will pay £72k of Santa cruz' £90k wage if he comes. If he goes to leicester, man city would pay £40k of his wages.
He also said that grayson is interested in jimmy bullard who is now a free agent, his wages could be a stumbling block though
Also he said that grayson is staying hopeful of signing a new centre mid, he is hoping of getting either Fabian Delph or Barry bannan back to the club. If he fails in them deals then he wil turn back to sammy clingan.

Believable11 Unbelievable11

Im a bit sceptical about the whole 'ian miller said grayson wants bullard' when this has literally just been announced that his contract is being terminated. also i doubt that miller would tell any secrets about leeds's targets to anyone...maybe his dog or cat. on the other hand if this is true and your friend is the son of miller, i can bet that miller will be giving his son a hiding for telling you and has let out the secrets at ER

Agree0 Disagree0

.. We've already got Santa claus bringing us gifts like a motel, billys bar (no kids) new east stand saving our club how would we cope with two Santas

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree utter nonsense, however think santa cruz could be true due to bellamy going to cardiff and not paying anything for him, with man city anything can happen, fingers crossed

Agree0 Disagree0

Would like to see Bannan back on loan, is a quality player, not really seeing how we need yet more midfielders however

Agree0 Disagree0

Jimmy Bullard
Good player but a mercenary and over paid. He's held Hull to ransom for ages now Bates wouldn't dream of having his kind at ER.
Santa Cruz - not likely, but we'd of said the same about Bellamy last year, so who knows.
But your definitely speculating about this otherwise your a complete plant pot for mentioning Ian Miller and are likely to get a slap off him for flapping your gums.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hello jimmy bullard here i'll take not a penny less than 11k a week but can't promise i will play often because wet tissue is stronger than my knee ligaments

Agree0 Disagree0

Please get your heads out the sand i will bet my years salary we will not be getting santa cruz, he has no interest in coming to leeds people are taking this whole story way way way way out of context.

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2011 12:59:24
bullard's contract at hull terminated would be an excellent signing we need another center mid we've only got 3 and hes free. only issue could be wages however he also has played for peanuts before at wigan lets see if he is motivated by money

Believable6 Unbelievable7

Reckon grayson should give it a go to sign him but not 100% convinced he would join us because i reckon he might want too much money..

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there are many more factors than money that would come into this, maybe the fact leeds would be about 10th in his list of clubs to go to. he will end up at Ipswich or QPR

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably Leicester like all the others. Getting paid for doing nowt.

Agree0 Disagree0

We're all motivated by money mate...why slag footie players for it?

Agree0 Disagree0

18 Aug 2011 12:01:32
the rumour coming from the city board when askedbout santa cruz they said he is on 90k they will pay 72k but santa cruz said he will decide later this window with leeds high on his list he said he knows there history and wants to make it again .but city said dont bank on owt as some clubs might be willing to pay 5million for him there basically waiting for offers then pick but his familly have lived near leeds btw iam a city fan and dont really like leeds but found this out and want to see yyou back where you belong..... blue moon rising :D

Believable11 Unbelievable6

What do you mean you don't really like Leeds, are we not bonded by our mutual hatred of the Scum?

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the info but dont confess you 'dont really like leeds' you'll just get abuse

Agree0 Disagree0

If he don't like Leeds, he don't like Leeds.
Nice that he wants us back though, where we belong, in the prem, above MC.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont like leeds wtf lol just give us santa claus and aguero till january and everything will be sorted MOT were on the up

Agree0 Disagree0

Finally, a decent guy from Manchester Cheers mate

Agree0 Disagree0

Its fine hope we get leeds in fa cup at elland road for some reason i love that ground the history , the atmosphere , passion, its top notch , i believe your are in top 6 clubs in country best not say too much iam meant to hate leeds haha good luckk for the season lads and about santa tht is true

Agree0 Disagree0

Ere gadge Why you saying you don't like Leeds. Not reet clever that mush.
Thanks for the info and say hello to your brother Liam from me.
Look forward to some good banter with your fans when we come up.

Sky sports website says Santa cruz will consider a drop to the championship with Leicester and Leeds in the hot seat for him.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

I'd get a tattoo of bates on my arse if this happens. he'll end up at leicester though :/

Agree0 Disagree0

It is vital we beat Sven to his signature even if it means breaking Bates' bank for him. Pride and principal thing now. Even if means paying 25 grand p/w we gotta do it. We can't let the Foxes get another one of our targets. They'd be too strong and we would look like fools.

Agree0 Disagree0

£90k a week, it aint gonna happen. With Becchio to come back, do we need another striker?. Why not go for someone like Le Fondre would certainly be a cheaper option.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would literally kill for him to come to us. Such an underrated player and sure he's no spring chicken but he could dance rings around the Championship. Wage demands are going to be the killer here, the indication is he'd probably go to Leeds rather than Leicester as we have more 'pedigree' in a modern sense. Please let this come off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip, look at the money Svens spent, look at their results, look at Cruz scoring record, both crap, let him add another poor signing to his ranks,Keough looks good,Forsell may be a good signing and with Becchio and Somma back why the hell would we need an overpaid player who cant score goals, another Paynter we dont need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds are most likely for his signature, and he want's to join Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Keogh looks good yet Roque doesn't? Yet RSC has out scored him by a 2:1 ratio. There's only 5 years between them and Roque basically spent two of those years without finding the net due to injury and competition, while Keogh was out on loan. You need to jog on with your logic mr Get a grip man.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has never said he wants to join leeds. His dad said there are big clubs in the championship with big stadiums and leeds are one of them. Read the article again and nowhere in there does it say he wants to join leeds.

Leeds have a tough game this Sunday against
West Ham. In my opinion, Simon should stick to
the 4-4-2 formation in the first half. Did really
well against Hull on Tuesday. In case, if it doesn't
work out Simon can revert to 4-5-1 in the
second half. Howson to replace Brown (too slow)
and Clayton to be the holding midfielder. Let
Nunez play the first half and see what happens.
This guy been scoring freely lately. Unleash Mad
Max in the second half to replace Nunez. Simon
should bring in Montgommery as the defensive
midfielder. Brown's past his prime. A pacy
experienced LB is what we need. O'Dea and
White not your answer. White only covering LB
temporarily. Rumours circulating Leeds might
sign Santa Cruz on loan. Wages a stumbling block.
Forsell on trial. Knowing Bates he will go for
Forsell not Santa Cruz.Well if Man City willing to
pay say 80% of his wages, Leeds should sign
Santa Cruz. Imagine Santa Cruz and Beechio up
front. Make this happen Simon. Leeds fan.

Believable14 Unbelievable3

O'Dea isn't naturally a left back and White played excellently on Tuesday night. Why the hell could he not be the answer? He's quick, tackles strongly (to say he's small) and gets up and supports the wingers. He's just what we need

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree trhat 4-4-2 is the way to start against W Ham. The pace of nunez and the trickery of Snodgrass feeding 2 strikers would frighten them. No way should Gradel be given a start after getting himself sent off and being 100% responsible for us losing 3 points against boro. He needs to earn a starting place. Also if Santa Cruz was to come, then the question would surely be who would partner McCormack and not playing Cruz and Becchio together. I think White is a decent left back and should be given the opportunity to make the position his own rather than try and bring someone else in.For the money we would be willing to pay we certainly wouldn't be buying any better. O'Dea looked a far better centre back than left back. Although am not his biggest fan, Brown did a decent job against Hull, although he may not be as good against stronger opposition. The problem is in bringing Howson back in who would he replace in 4-4-2. Clayton would lose his impact as a holding/defensive midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

I for one thought that Aidan White and Tom Lees were outstanding and O Dea looked good in the middle. I hope we can sign either forsell or santa cruz. We do need a strong tackling fast midfielder but those are hard to find. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Why should Leeds sign him,his scoring record is about as good as Paynters, sign the player, not the name, look how much Kaka cost, hes exactly the same, cant give the pair away, stick with Keough, and maybe Forsell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you not usually sign off as 'A concerned Leeds fan' ?

Agree0 Disagree0

OP clearly wasn't at the game on Tuesday. Brown was excellent and allowed Clayton to run the midfield. O'Dea was immense at the back - he's actually bigger than Kisnorbo. White's only errors were with his heading and the team shape was very good even though Hull changed their formation about three times. Same side v West Ham please.

Alex Mendy gone to Chesterfield apparently, best of luck to him, good player but our wings are competitive enough (:

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Lets be honest if he was that good he would be somewhere better than chesterfield in league 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched him yesterday for Chesterfield Reserves he's bang average

He was good, did you see him in any of preseason games? if you did then you'd know you where wrong.

Haha cant be that good if he's ended up at Chesterfield...show some ambition guys
