BBC Leeds reporter Adam Pope states, "#lufc Been told Bates is due in Leeds tomorrow.Programme notes mention documents need finalising between lawyers re the deal with investors."

Bates skipped the game tonight, maybe he didn't fancy the 1000+ fans outside the East Stand protesting or maybe even he couldn't take yet another midweek defeat. It's not like Bates could do anything about the squads capability of handling Tursdays with a squad large enough to handle it is it?

On a plus side lets just hope he's in Leeds tomorrow to finally sign the deal a sod off into the Sun Set

Believable15 Unbelievable11

We can all hope

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe he just did not give a feck

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates always flies in wednesday and flies back saturday this counts as 2 days. dont forget he is a tax exile.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates was due to attend last nights game however. So something changed, either he didn't fancy the protest or he thought he'd give it a miss as he doesn't actually support Leeds United, and with a sale imminent why would he bother?

Agree0 Disagree0

He is taking the mick out of us, things are moving slowly. how much slower can they go? also its all about investment in his notes, not take over so those wanting completely rid of him could be very upset.

All that remains is that KB signs the deal. Everything else is in place. He may be saying something different but that it, as it stands. Apparently, he is expected in Leeds during the next day or two. You never know...here's hoping!

NW says he's struggling to find a loan striker he wants. "People asking if I'll be on the phone tomorrow but I might as well go fishing.".....need to know anything else about Bates financing of the club?

Believable15 Unbelievable2

Rather than me put my hard earned money into the club and get 2 tickets for Forest and Everton (not much change out of 100 btw) I think I will go 'fishing' or find something better to do with my time. This sums things up at the moment, if NW cant be bothered because he's not getting any help from KB then why should we.

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt he end that quote with... all my targets have gone? suggesting the any players available are not his first choice rather than we have no funds.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that was more a statement about the availability of good strikers on loan. However you're right we couldn't afford the wages of any premier league striker. -DB

Agree0 Disagree0

What about beckford!!
Surely he becomes a target as everyone knows he's available
He's proven at pretty much premier league and loves the club
Sign him up Neil
Russjon

Agree0 Disagree0

Some of the replies to this post are amazing, yeah NW missed out on his preferred loan targets, because he has NO FUNDS. I'm off fishing...

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel totally for NW. to say he will go fishing is his way of saying come on Bates pull your finger out, sign the deal and let me have at least a decent chance of being able to compete with other clubs. Its been known since pre-season that we need at least 1 other striker and a bit of pace out wide, but here we are half a dozen games into season and still no further forward. its a joke!

The takeover talks still ongoing . Warnock said this in his interview on Yorkshire radio. He said loan moves possible and with Becchio injured now as well as McCormack we need some bodies before Saturday. Down to the bare bones again.

Leeds chairman Ken Bates has confirmed that the club remain the subject of a takeover bid, but it is only progressing slowly.

The Elland Road club announced on 26th June they had entered an exclusivity period with potential investors but now, 84 days later, the situation remains unresolved.

Leeds have only released a statement to confirm that the exclusivity period had ended but talks remain on going.

And 80-year-old Bates said on Tuesday evening: "Despite the confidentiality agreement, stories keep appearing with varying degrees of accuracy as evidenced by the statements put out by LUST (Leeds United Supporters Trust).

"That included a TV interview that said a deal was 'imminent'. It wasn't then and is progressing slowly now. In football everybody expects everything now - but the real world is different."

Writing in the club programme ahead of tonight's clash with Hull City, Bates added: "The current situation is that as I write, the appropriate documents have not been finalised between the lawyers."

GFH Capital, who are working on the deal on behalf of a Middle Eastern consortium, have sent representatives to one of United's games this season but have not made any comment on the nature of the talks.

Disgruntled Leeds fans have arranged a protest against Bates, who they accuse of putting off-field investments before the purchase of players, ahead of and during Tuesday night's Championship game.

Our forwards dropping like flies. Looks like Becchio will miss some games. Dip into the loan market imperative now

Believable15 Unbelievable5

Andy Gray and Dom Poleon might be reliable enough, for the weekend, but we need some in soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will find that we now revert to 1 up front and then an extra man either in midfield or defense . personally i would add an extra defender and play wing backs byram and white play 3 central midfielders - varney ,austin and tonge with diouf just behind poleon . could do with takeover finishing before end of month as we have our easiest run coming up .

take over will happen its just going to take longer than expected, fans who are not going to games over this are pathetic leeds fans, i will attend every game i can to and get behind NW and the team

Believable13 Unbelievable22

Try not to have a go at those who, for all the right reasons, have chosen to boycott ER. I have taken this course of action however i always make a point of respecting the decisions of my brothers (and sisters) in arms who elect to goto ER and support the team. My grievance is not with you but with the bearded scrotum we all know and hate. Best of luck to you!

Calling leeds fans pathetic for staying away yet you wrote this comment at 8.01pm so you obviously wasnt at the game yourself.... pot, kettle, black comes to mind

Agree0 Disagree0

Not as pathetic as you pretending to be at games, or did u post this 16 minutes in from the North Stand..... You can access this site on your mobile}

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt he was at the game it would take longer than 16 minutes to connect to the internet seeing as the signal is garbage in there ;) {Ed013's Note - Haha fair point mate although I manage to tweet better when I take my son in the East Stand, but its harder to when in the Kop}

Agree0 Disagree0

You must have money to burn pal. I wouldn't go even if i was bought a ticket, thats how i feel.
BATES OUT NOW!! OR WE ARE F++KED!!

Agree0 Disagree0

He never said he was at the game, he said he goes to as many games as he can. n i fully back him when he says " pathetic leeds fans" as some really are as boycoting the game will make no difference in anyway just u sat at home thinking ken will miss out on your money when 99% of fans actually go a support leeds whist the sad pathetic 1% think the world stans still if u boycott the game lol leeds could b in league 2 n id still b there supporting them

Agree2 Disagree0

You say 99% go support leeds... i was at the game tonight as im a season ticket holder but you clearly wasnt if you think 99% of fans were there.
i didnt hear them announce the crowd figures but there was a loads of empty seats.. id say alot more than 1% are staying away.
i myself will go till the end of the season and not renew my season ticket while bates is there and i wont spend a penny whilst there and this is the 1st season i wont be buying the kits either untill that leech has left our club

Agree0 Disagree0

I was at the game & the gate was announced towards the end of the match 19,000 and some (forgot the actual figure) but definitely not even 20,000. So fans are clearly voting with their feet which is their perogative. Will be reluctantly joining them shortly if KB is'nt gone soon. Can't bear to watch the disintegration for much longer. No depth and suffering already due to injurys.

Lets have the takeover/investment sorted to enable Warnock to put the icing on the cake before it's too late for this season, if it isn't already as most decent available players have gone elsewhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

As will all true Leeds fans. To stop going doesn't hurt Bates it just hurts the team and the club.

Bates: Leeds takeover remains work in progress
Leeds United,18:18, September 18, 2012

Leeds remain the subject of a takeover bid but it is only progressing slowly, according to chairman Ken Bates.

The Elland Road club announced on June 26 they had entered an exclusivity period with potential investors but on Tuesday, 84 days later, the situation remains unresolved. Leeds have only released a statement to confirm that the exclusivity period had ended but talks remain on going.

All this "TAKEOVER IS TODAY HEARD FROM ER OR TA OR RELIABLE SOURCE INVOLVED WITH CLUB" is literally rubbish(ed censorship ;) )
Ive just read elsewhere a small paragraph of kens programme notes ahead of tonights Hull visit that the talks are still ongoing at a slow pace and that the paperwork hasn't been agreed between lawyers.
Reading along those lines my guess is, any day now were done with him.
If its now down to the lawyers Ken would said by now deal was off would he not ?
Done deal boys just signatures required, when ?
I have no idea but i'm pretty certain he's a goner.

Weallloveleeds {Ed020's Note - looks like a case of "when" instead of "if" looks good tho.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Documents with lawayers and await final signature ?... The fact that they havent been signed is a note of caution in that any unhappy party would negotiate any issue to satisfactory conclusion before signing off. This is not a definitive WILL BE SIGNED but KB using this statement to avoid any harrassment and putting onus onto potential buyers. In his eyes its their fault if the deal isnt signed. If the deals not favourable I wouldnt sign it off would you ?

I hear takeover is nearly completed from a reliable source. However ive been told not to get too excited because new owners are not exactly loaded and will NOT be throwing cash at our club! Seems to be a business venture thus they will be looking for a return on thieir cash. They have a 5 year plan. Promotion, consolidation, and sell at a huge profit. Think we going to need at least 6 million in january and not be too far off the top to stand any chance of promotion! Just hope new owners agree!!

Believable9 Unbelievable23

What rubbish. If they aren't loaded why are they will to take a risk and cover any dodgy dealings from there own pocket.

I would say they are rich otherwise who else could keep all this so hush hush and keep it going for do long.

What sauce ? You mean me ketchup in the kitchen cupboard

Agree0 Disagree0

You say not to get too excited, new owners want promotion and consolidation, isn't that what we all want.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with 2nd poster - consortium has agreed to cover any surprize debts/skeletons coming out of bates' closet. they must have money and contacts and must be important enough to be able to do a blanket cover on all news getting out - just hope it all goes thru and new owners have th money/commitment and will not let the great lufc fans down-similar to blackburn!!

Agree0 Disagree1

Have heard similar rumours that the new owners are not super rich in the Man city/Chelsea bracket, but they do have more than enough money to push us to promotion and beyond. Once consolidated in the premiership then they know other investors who can add the needed cash to push us to the heights we deserve. These other investors are not as brave as the intial group and want to see the club stabilised in the premiership, basically make sure we aren't a yo-yo club, before risking any money.

Well said Sussex white. Much prefer JB !

Agree0 Disagree0

Sussex white why you writing back to your own comment lol

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need mr i can head and hold up the ball adeqautely cos im big, we have becchio for that. What we need is the speedy beckford/sordell/maynard type who can run on and take advantage on the balls that becchio wins basically we need pace nit power,as well as the natural goalscoring instinct

Agree0 Disagree0

Wind your neck in fella, hardly write back to my own post! Ed could clarify this! Is it that unbelievable that people other than me want beckford back? The amount that he did for our club only deserves respect! The goal against utd will always be my top highlight! {Ed013's Note - I think he was joking mate}

Agree0 Disagree0

You forget that goal v united was all down to i think it was howson with that gr8 ball, all beckford did was get on the end of it. kenwyne jones can do alot more than head n hold it up, he aint been playing in the prem for god knows how long just for his height, hes got gr8 power that beckford aint n he offers far more than beckford would, so with respect i think its time you took alook at there records n then you would see jones is 5 times better than beckford who ppl seem to forget was gr8 in league 1 for us n since hes moved up hes not been anywhere near as good

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe Jones would rather come to a club where he knows he'll be first choice every game?
