I would have paddy over lonners any day! experience of two promotions and NW has said we lacked experience in certain areas. Lonners was ok but didnt command his area or "talk" to the defence. He gave back the captaincy which wont have gone down well with NW who is insisting on players that can "handle" playing at ER which Lonners clearly cant. PNE is one thing, playing at Leeds is completely different

Heard through a friend that work at thorp arch that they are to expect White back next season as well as drury he wasn't allowed to speak about the transfer untill it was on O.S but I rang him after it broke an he said that white hasnt had a better offer so is looking as if he'll be here next week

Ok of coursse white told your mate all the ins and outs of contracts he has been offered i doubt that and of course he will be still here untill the forst of july and he is on holiday at moment so it cant have been in the last day or so

Matt mills seen coming out of elland road late last night. Not sure if this is true as it was from a friends friend. {Ed013's Note - So first you see Paddy Kenny coming out of the superstore and now a friends friend sees Matt Mills. You and your friends must be very lucky to see them both in two days}

cant believe people are slaggin a new signin and a shrewd one. he played in half of norwichs games last yr in the pren! je aint lost his pace and will play for the shirt. age dont mayter as white is rapid but terrible at other things. keep the faith. IN WARNOCK WE TRUST

Gutted to see him go, can't quite believe it as I always thought he'd finish his career with NCFC. Although I hate Neil Warnock with a passion, I wish Drury all the best.

Adam may have wanted to go to a bigger club, but at this stage of his career it was unlikely one would come in for him so Leeds are probably the next best thing

The issues with White are pretty obvious. Quick but very light in the tackle. Better with the ball at his feet, suggests more a winger than defender. Then again, a lack of decent final ball accuracy means he's more likely to be thought of as a defender.
Don't expect there to be a queue of people in for him if he's slightly too square for all those round holes so assume he's likely to stay.

That's a name not mentioned in any rumours I've seen Adam Drury! Well done Neil left back position we needed as no one was a confirmed left back previously. Plus he's experienced in the premiership won't let ER intimidate him like so many others in a white shirt last year. Phil Bramley

Over recent weeks plenty has been written about investment/takeover talks so thought I'd add my own thought on the matter, I noticed recently that Karl Albrecht (Co-founder of Aldi Supermarket chain & wealthiest person in Germany) has been connected with LUFC, wiki states he is rumoured to have been involved in a takeover bid, one thing is for sure, if we manage to get a multi pound billionaire on board the future will be looking a lot better than it has done with KB in charge! My only worry here is the fact Karl Albrecht is 92 years of age, seems a bit old to be running a football club, so maybe this rumour is exactly what it is.... a rumour!

My granny is rumoured to have been interested in taking over Leeds according to WikiWakipeedio....

I can just imagine it now... Messi in a leeds top, sponsored by Aldi

Why would a german buy an english club, previously owned by pappa smurf - he's successful for a reason, ie not buying things from a dodgy supplier!!!

Been reading alot of the reports to come out of Elland Road today and so far have seen the following...

Paddy Kenny is at Leeds today to finalise a move which would cost us around £500k...

Lee Peltier also expected to put pen to paper on a move in the next 48hrs. A deal which would cost us around £350k

Neil Warnock has been interviewed saying he is back at his desk today and is focusing totally on bringing in new players with the first pre season game just over a fortnight away. He also stated that he was looking at 3 or 4 players who are free agents at present and hoping that deals can be agreed with a little help from the club.

now.... is it at all possible that the takeover has been completed and they don't want to announce it publicaly as we will get shafted by other clubs when it comes to transfer fees for players?? There has been NOTHING said for weeks and weeks from anyone at the club about the takeover other than the post ages back saying the club can confirm they are speaking to investors... I for one find this strange that they are willing to make it known that they are in talks over investment/takeover but not willing to keep us all upto date with what is actually happening. Ken Bates is a man who is quick to rubbish reports in the press if they are nonsense and he hast not said a word on anything... not even when our captain Robert Snodgrass came out and attacked him and the clubs ambition... I can't help but think we are currently under new ownership and the new owners are been very clever in making sure they don't pay over the odds for players by keeping quiet for the time being.

I posted along these lines a few days ago (my post was not as detailed as yours). I compared the current position as being similar to not disclosing transfer fees.

However, my post was not put on to the board.

They would not be able to keep it secret that the takeover is complete they have to inform all sorts of people and companys about any changes in ownership or investment.

Very plausible. I think this whole thing has been very well scripted. I think there was a takeover on the table as soon as NW was appointed and we are getting to the final stages of the takeover and hopefully will be completed soon.

Ken bates has disclosed to the fa who actually owns leeds united, but on the basis that this info does not go any further, using the data protection act as his only weapon. information like this is not meant to be published and he is in his rights to have this. on this basis if a full takeover has already happened, they are well in their rights to apply the same data protection. no info will come out until player contracts, new or old have been signed and completed. this is whats called "information shut down" if they do not want you to know, you will not know. we will all have to be patient and see what happens. either way bates is on a loser, cos if he does not sell and does not buy any players, he'll have 50,000 leeds fans camped on his door step every week, if he sells, all well and good, he's offsky!!

We don't have any right to be told anything until its actually finalised, they only confirmed after LUST broke the news of investors. I think everyone will have to be a little more patient before anything happens.

Well that is according to wiki he has bought us for 61 million Euros (£49,000,000) and his personal wealth is a est 41 billion . Which Neil Warnock has made his second signing in Paddy Kenny for 500,000. Maybe a double announcement today or is it more wiki bulls£&t.

Anyone can change wiki and leeds not worth 49 million pounds we dont own the stadium or the training ground our only asstets is the squad

Bates is a very smart man he will off bought er and ta back after all lust did state that he has a loan out for around 6 mill why would any1 buy a club if all they would get is the squad

We all know bates own both elland rd and thorp arch...they will have to be in any deal that gets done....i'm sure he has a way of keeping it all quiet until the deal is done then it will leak out somewhere that one of his overseas companies owns them in which we don't have to know who the owner of the company is.

People keep stating about leeds not having any assests only the playing squad, not owing the ground etc...i work in business and the biggest asset to leeds is the fans of which there are plently, good support and loyal support. i would love my bussiness to have a small faction of the support leeds have, although if it did i wouldnt have as much free time to look at this website so every cloud has a silver linning. any business with leeds support is worth £49 million easy, then you have squad, website, LUTV, the radio and maybe other faclities like ground to buy back...think this rumour could be true...hope so anyway

harry redknapp could be straight back into football management, with Neil Warnock set to leave Leeds due to the promised funds not being delivered, Harry said he is willing to manage the Yorkshire club, he said he would like a challenge before he retires, and to be honest, managing leeds, is a massive challenge for anyone!

Redknapp needs transfer funds if non for warnock even less for redknapp plus redknap would want a bigger wage andf redknap wouldnt touch leeds with a bargepost please show us where he said that milky

Keith Andrew (despite being sent off last night), has been the best player in a Republic of Ireland shirt at the Euros. He is a free agent and would absolutely do a job for us in the middle of the park. I have heard Bolton are interested, I personally hope that we are too.

Andrews is drivel. Worst player in the tournament.

To whoever said he is drivel, who can we afford who is any better? He was by far the best player for ROI, the sending off was pathetic and it only happened because he was fighting for his pride with his nation sitting on 0!, most players would of just gave up.
I think he would be perfect in the middle of the park, had the bite of Brown but actual covered some ground and had some great strikes at goal. On a free, cant go wrong!

I think Kenny signing will be a good yardstick regarding Warnock. If he signs, it seems logical to assume Warnock will be sticking around as I doubt he'd sign his prodigal son and then leave him in the lurch.

Thought we could not sign players until the 1st July ?

Out watching the Spain game with a friend of mine tonight. Some interesting little titbits.

He just came back from a week's golfing in Spain where he met Howard Wilko one day and then SG the next. SG stated that the atmosphere at Huddersfield is electric, happy people, totally different to LUFC. Also, he hardly ever had a penny to spend at LUFC, and he only spent £500k last year. The company concentrated too much on the stadium.

The next titbit was that my mate is friends with a guy that works for LUFC (ie direct contact) who says:

a) Bates has not been seen at ER for months because he is ill
b) Bates is ready to sell up because the cost base built and the alienation of the fans means he can't service it - ie, he is aware not enough money is coming in
c) Because Bates has made it clear through a number of avenues that he is keen to sell, the delay is not due to due diligence with one company, but is due to the large number of people who have expressed a desire to purchase the club.
d) Because Bates is ill, most of the work is being done by Harvey. Bercause Harvey has been at the club for so long, he is keen to ensure that it is sold to someone who has the best interests of LUFC at heart, not selling to some joker aka Portsmouth.
e) But because Harvey is doing a lot of th negotiation but he does not have control, there are delays as Bates makes decisions and some things Harvey can not decide upon.
f) It is definitely about selling up. Bates knows he can't bankroll the club this year. But apparently, he is trying to do his damnedest to ensure that the people who do buy the club do have the best interests of the club at heart, and they wil not just be looking at selling the club on in a year or two for a quick buck (aka Pompey)


In other words, it could take a long while, and Bates may pop his clogs before it happens, but even though the current regime have completely screwed it all up, they are keen to make sure that they don't just sell to any Tom Dick or Harry.

I am seeing them in a slightly wamer glow at the mo.

Total poppycock. Bates attended Leeds Crown Court a few weeks back and looked fine. Also, you seem confused about whether Bates is leaving because he is ill or because he has alienated the fans. Personally I'm 99% sure Bates isn't leaving and we will have a relegation fight on our hands next year.

If Bates is ill, how come he met up with Warnock in Monaco last week.

This sounds feasible. The Bates being ill rumour has been around for a while and the man is an octogenarian. With the hostility amongst supporters it would be understandable if he wanted to sell and as the poster wrote, not to any 'Tom, Dick or Harry' as that would tarnish his legacy.

Let's hope we hear something more tangible soon.

I believe part of this post as I posted several weeks ago long before the season finished that Bates had been told to sort all his affairs and liquidate due to illness. It isnt a matter that the guy is going to die soon just that at over 80 years old he needs to take it easy and the stress of running a club is too much. No matter what people think of him he wants Leeds back in the prem and wanted to be known as the guy that took them back there. I remember back in the 80's when Chelsea won the old 2nd division and we played them away on the last game Bates quoted in the press that you would have thought Leeds had won the league not us their support was brilliant. I believe in the end that is why he saved our club.
In my opinion if there was no takeover going on there would be comments from ER all the time so the lack of comments whilst frustrating is a good thing? I also think Warnock would have gone if he wasnt going to get what he needs for promotion as he said that last season.
