Paddy Kenny to sign in next 24 hours. Leeds have beaten Ipswich and Bristol City to him, meaning he will link up with former manger Neil Warnock.
MOT LufC

Believable18 Unbelievable10

Ipswich and Bristol, These are not teams we want to be competing with for player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why are you so happy about a average player been signed beating two average teams for him w need players with gas to burn not another plodder we have no pace anywhere on the field

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do we need pace in goal!?
Quality signing, atleast a sensible, reliable head in the ranks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reliable and sensible? Not words I would have associated with Paddy Kenny!

Agree0 Disagree0

Kenny is a decent keeper I hope we do get him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why waste money on a keeper when we already have one, who is as good.

Agree0 Disagree0

PK has been signing for leeds for the last 3 weeks, i think we can wait another 24hrs, or 48 or 72....

Agree0 Disagree0

Everybody who is having ag at paddy kenny coming to Leeds forget rachuba. i would have kenny all day long ps we only have one keeper!! and as from next season were allowed to pure 7 substitutes on the bench again instead of five

Agree0 Disagree0

Impossible. We are under transfer embargo until takeover talks are drawn to a close. No fees will be paid out

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have paddy over lonners any day! experience of two promotions and NW has said we lacked experience in certain areas. Lonners was ok but didnt command his area or "talk" to the defence. He gave back the captaincy which wont have gone down well with NW who is insisting on players that can "handle" playing at ER which Lonners clearly cant. PNE is one thing, playing at Leeds is completely different

Evening all,

Is everyone sitting comfortably....then I'll begin. According to a friend who has links with a former sports writter for the YEP a fee has been agreed with an Arab consortium and two of Mr Bates's best friends (who also have shares in club) have sold their stake. Bates still wants a place on the board but the consortium want him out. Shaun Harvey has been offered a place on the new board, if Bates goes, obviously Harvey wants the job and is trying to persuade Bates to go. Apparenty both Mr and Mrs Bates have health issues which may prove a decisive factor.

Bottom line is if we sign Paddy Kenny on or before Friday (for a fee) the takeover is complete. If it doesn't materialise we may have a problem.

Let's all keep our fingers crossed.

C.H.

Comments from Norwich fans in their local rag -
I hoped he might finish his career at Norwich. Shame he is going but I wish him well. Leeds are getting a quality defender.

So very sorry to see Adam go. He has been a superb player for the club and richly deserved his testimonial against Celtic in the Summer. I wish him all the best at Leeds.

Gutted to see him go, can't quite believe it as I always thought he'd finish his career with NCFC. Although I hate Neil Warnock with a passion, I wish Drury all the best.

Adam may have wanted to go to a bigger club, but at this stage of his career it was unlikely one would come in for him so Leeds are probably the next best thing

Good move for Adam and a well deserved two-year deal.

Time we gave our feeder club back a player we've finished with. We'll take Snodgrass in exchange...

Adam has been a great player for Norwich and I wish him all the best for his future playing career

Agree0 Disagree0

The issues with White are pretty obvious. Quick but very light in the tackle. Better with the ball at his feet, suggests more a winger than defender. Then again, a lack of decent final ball accuracy means he's more likely to be thought of as a defender.
Don't expect there to be a queue of people in for him if he's slightly too square for all those round holes so assume he's likely to stay.

That's a name not mentioned in any rumours I've seen Adam Drury! Well done Neil left back position we needed as no one was a confirmed left back previously. Plus he's experienced in the premiership won't let ER intimidate him like so many others in a white shirt last year. Phil Bramley

Adam Drury confirmed to be signing on July 1st, maybe thatll shut a few moaners up for now

Believable12 Unbelievable7

Great a 33 year old player who isn't good enough anymore for Norwich. Just what Leeds need, passed their sell by date players, looking for some dosh before they retire.

Agree0 Disagree0

If that's the standard of player we're looking at, no it won't.

Agree0 Disagree0

OK, i believe it it´s on os, at 33 a short term signing for his (experience) however that raises the question the player embargo will be lifted either on or before that date (he is a free agent i know) so a deal of some sort must have been struck with MR. K. Bates for sure. cannot wait for more details..MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

, so many people on here supposedly "in the know", yet NO ONE saw that one coming. I think this just shows the fact that no-one has a clue what's going on at LUFC. Let's just sit back, relax, and let Colin do what he does best!

Agree0 Disagree0

Friend of mine is a Norwich City fan who said he's the best current English left back to never play for England, they're sad to see him go. Nobody seemed to be whinging when we were looking at Ian Harte - experience is what we need at the back to get behind the lad.

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't this just typical, we now have a new player with some actual skill and experience, free of any transfer charge, and we have the moaners back.

...did you not read the bit that said he played for Norwich in the PREMIERSHIP 16 times last season??

I think this is a good signing, and he'll be ample backup to Pearce, let's hope this is the start of many more heading our way, well done Neil!

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

People will still moan because he has come on a free....KB has not spent owt.

Agree0 Disagree0

No, they are already moaning that the guy is past it, too old, and 'another freebie'....

...some people are never satisfied.

Personally I think it's a good move, let's hope Warnock has a few more up his sleeve....

Agree0 Disagree0

It says alot about this investment if we are buying free players who are past there sell buy date

nh

Agree0 Disagree0

I ain't relaxing if the Drury is what NW does best. Joke signing and 2 year contract!!

Agree0 Disagree0

This really puts our season back on track. and restores the faith back into the club that the future is bright.why r u so naive.

Agree0 Disagree0

Whats this say about the takeover dune or never was going to be dune as I was led to believe you could not sign players when in takeover talks so was it all rubbish and this is how we get to know

Agree0 Disagree0

Good solid signing shame he's 33 but who cares if he does the job sign him up

Agree0 Disagree0

They said the same about a certain Gordon Strachan and we all know what happened there. Drury is quick and has a wealth of experience played 16 games in the premiership for Norwich and they had a decent season, Warnock rates him and as we all know we need to sort out our defence. Welcome aboard Mr Drury

Agree0 Disagree0

Good consistent player to acquire but not sure we should be signing players of that age bracket. Thought we would be building a quality younger team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree think he will be a good player. better a good 33 year old than a rubbish 23 year old, he is the kind of player we need to me ER a fotress and hopfully push for promotion

Agree0 Disagree0

Former club Captain at Norwich but had a knee injury. Seems to have overcome this but has been denied playing time due to Tierney taking the slot. Club Captain would imply that he's a grafter and slogger. Blood and thunder is what were after so I'm cool with the deal. Cant be any worse than what we have had in the past... 'Yeah just remember'

Agree0 Disagree0

He is as good a player as you can get at left back in the championship. We've got a player who's consistently been a great player for Norwich over 11 years (it's hard to be that consistent) and gained 4 promotions in his career being signed by a manager who has achieved 7 promotions and people are complaining.

People continue to baffle me...

Agree0 Disagree0

It's inevitable you get your whingers. They're part and parcel of life.
Personally I don't care how old they are, if our defence is better than last year that's a major bonus.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

We've been wanting a combination of youth and experience at the back for years. We have got it now. Stop complaining and give Neil and the new signings a chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

2 solid looking defenders signed is the way to look at it, less leaks as Warnock plugs the gaps, heading in the right direction.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dear oh dear, there really is NO pleasing some folk. Good signing and needed considering how gash we were down that flank last year. He has experience, pace and isn't a crock unlike some of the other players our fans have been pushing for on this site. In terms of "young" players we've just promoted five from the academy who need some "old" heads around them to help them develop.

I think most fans on here should just buy or play championship manager. That way you can sit in the hot seat as city manager and spend the fecking millions you seem to think Leeds desperately need to be spending.

I'll repeat what I've said the last month...

- Leeds are now financially sound
- we have a proven manager with balls
- we're still in June, plenty of time for signings
- positive signs of a takeover soon
- best fans in the country
- most loyal fans in the country

Get behind the whites and the manager!!

As for bates, I'll repeat I'm not his biggest fan and I'd also expect him to have made money out of us but.... We're still very much alive and when you look at Pompey and rangers, bates looks like a saint.... Wish him well in retirement and get on with being a fan, supporter and backer of Leeds. Give all the negative stuff a rest.

P.s. would you want the glazers in charge? Would you feck, so be grateful there's worse feckers in the game destroying clubs.

P.s.s. I'd also flog white, snodgrass, McCormack and Clayton - weren't good enough last season and time to bin those players without the heart, desire, skill or influence to take Leeds back to the prem and Europe.

Stockport/Hague lifelong whites fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stockport/Hague BRILLIANT!!! Couldn't agree more with everything you just said! Some People need to wake up and smell the coffee! We are at the min a championship side who have some good young talented Defenders (Lee's & Pearce) but we also need some older heads to give a good balance to the team! And as Drury played 16 times in the prem last season for norwich then i think the bloke can probably do a decent job for us in the championship!! Rob.s

I know wiki's normally not true but read into this... rnault has now become the owner of, English fallen giant soccer club, Leeds United as from the 19th June 2012. After reportedly purchasing the club from former Chelsea FC owner Ken Bates, who also masterminded the sale of the club to Roman Abramovich in July 2003. He has already funded a £500,000 move for veteran goalkeeper Paddy Kenny who has been brought by Neil Warnock (Leeds United Manager) for a fourth time in his career. (Bury, Sheffield United, Queens Park Rangers and now Leeds United). The takeover was kept quiet for a considerable time with Leeds supposedly already having signed 3 players from clubs that are to be unveiled on the 1st July to keep within League stipulations. The deal destined to be a fan favourite for the long time sufferers of Leeds United is reported to be in the region of £41,000,00.

Hope the news about Paddy Kenny and a couple of other reasonably quick signings is true. Personally, I think most transfer activity will be done in the first three weeks of July when I hope we will know one way or another what is happening at the club. What do you think Ed and other fans too. MOT Ron. {Ed013's Note - Cheers pal, other Eds are covering me in my absence of the sleepless nights! Just spoken to a supplier, Draincentre in Leeds and he's supplying a contractor, who's working at ER.
The contractor is working on the East Stand and modifying Ken Bate's personal box(did not know he had a box in the east stand) Why would you be doing up your own box if you were going to leave, and who's paying for the refurb, Bates or the new owner. Can't see the new owner doing that!! If there is a new owner??? Or as part of the deal, he gets his box as a non executive member type thing and it's modified with bullet proof glass and mined carpet and machine gun posts!!!

Believable0 Unbelievable13

Draincentre? what is he having put in? a swimming pool?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates doesnt have a personal box, he sits in the directors box (which is a seating area in the west stand and not a box!), the boxes are corporate only as far as i know and certainly were when i worked there

al1977

Agree0 Disagree0

Draincentre supply a whole host of items - not sure what the contractor purchased, i just said a contractor buying at draincentre(not necessarilly buying the specific items for er)working at er was working on a refurb of pappa smurfs box - why do a refurb on a box if you're leaving?? unless a deal is already done and its a refurb of the same box for the new owners??

Agree0 Disagree0

I have read somewhere that the directors were relocating to the new East Stand as its easier to access from / to The Pavilion area for functions after matches etc.

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be part of the sale - box for life for the ex-owner. Not unusual. I still fear to believe any positive news though as it just makes the eventual disappointment even more intense.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would that be Paul @Drain Center Copley Hill Leeds? If so his wife works in the office and he told me last week that she didnt know anything.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would Bates need a box? He's hardly a regular.... Maybe he will upgrade his tv in Monaco in case he decides to watch us get promoted...

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates does have a box (suite) in the east Stand Upper, it is the Chairman / Directors suite and is in the centre of the 4th floor of the East stand, alongside the other new boxes. He has been in there most of last season (when he is here) and does not use the West Stand Anymore. However, not sure why anybody would be altering the plumbing of a new suite already and if they were, it would be the original contractors? JH

Over recent weeks plenty has been written about investment/takeover talks so thought I'd add my own thought on the matter, I noticed recently that Karl Albrecht (Co-founder of Aldi Supermarket chain & wealthiest person in Germany) has been connected with LUFC, wiki states he is rumoured to have been involved in a takeover bid, one thing is for sure, if we manage to get a multi pound billionaire on board the future will be looking a lot better than it has done with KB in charge! My only worry here is the fact Karl Albrecht is 92 years of age, seems a bit old to be running a football club, so maybe this rumour is exactly what it is.... a rumour!

I'm not in any way saying that its going to be us that this chap buys but according to reports, isn't that Kuwait chap, Al-Hawasi making an announcement on Thursday (21st) about who he has purchased. I may be wrong I just heard people say that's what he mentioned in that recent interview he did?!

If this is true I have a feeling it could be forest. Simply because they announced a new sponsor last week and the CEO of that company said their takeover was 'imminent' and that in 10 days time they will be giving an interview with more exciting news. That was last Tuesday meaning that 10 days from then will on Friday....it seems to all fit together!?

Hopefully any good news is on the horizon

I take on what your saying 2nd response but what I meant was the CEO of their new sponsor said the whole 10day, exciting news stuff. Been reading alot of the reports to come out of Elland Road today and so far have seen the following...

Paddy Kenny is at Leeds today to finalise a move which would cost us around £500k...

Lee Peltier also expected to put pen to paper on a move in the next 48hrs. A deal which would cost us around £350k

Neil Warnock has been interviewed saying he is back at his desk today and is focusing totally on bringing in new players with the first pre season game just over a fortnight away. He also stated that he was looking at 3 or 4 players who are free agents at present and hoping that deals can be agreed with a little help from the club.

now.... is it at all possible that the takeover has been completed and they don't want to announce it publicaly as we will get shafted by other clubs when it comes to transfer fees for players?? There has been NOTHING said for weeks and weeks from anyone at the club about the takeover other than the post ages back saying the club can confirm they are speaking to investors... I for one find this strange that they are willing to make it known that they are in talks over investment/takeover but not willing to keep us all upto date with what is actually happening. Ken Bates is a man who is quick to rubbish reports in the press if they are nonsense and he hast not said a word on anything... not even when our captain Robert Snodgrass came out and attacked him and the clubs ambition... I can't help but think we are currently under new ownership and the new owners are been very clever in making sure they don't pay over the odds for players by keeping quiet for the time being.

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted along these lines a few days ago (my post was not as detailed as yours). I compared the current position as being similar to not disclosing transfer fees.

However, my post was not put on to the board.

Agree0 Disagree0

They would not be able to keep it secret that the takeover is complete they have to inform all sorts of people and companys about any changes in ownership or investment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very plausible. I think this whole thing has been very well scripted. I think there was a takeover on the table as soon as NW was appointed and we are getting to the final stages of the takeover and hopefully will be completed soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken bates has disclosed to the fa who actually owns leeds united, but on the basis that this info does not go any further, using the data protection act as his only weapon. information like this is not meant to be published and he is in his rights to have this. on this basis if a full takeover has already happened, they are well in their rights to apply the same data protection. no info will come out until player contracts, new or old have been signed and completed. this is whats called "information shut down" if they do not want you to know, you will not know. we will all have to be patient and see what happens. either way bates is on a loser, cos if he does not sell and does not buy any players, he'll have 50,000 leeds fans camped on his door step every week, if he sells, all well and good, he's offsky!!

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't have any right to be told anything until its actually finalised, they only confirmed after LUST broke the news of investors. I think everyone will have to be a little more patient before anything happens.

Db

Agree0 Disagree0

According to YEP it's 4 players for a fee and 2 players on bosmans that NW is chasing not 4 players on frees

How are we supposed to trust you when you don't give us a source or any other way to back it up?

That's a relief, so glad you told us all.

Takeover/investment will be announced closer to august when all players have been signed

It's got to be Darren Brown who else would come up with that!
We would all trust you if you had a name and a source so go on please do tell, but I guess we are all right because your making fibs

It seems that players dont seem to be in a rush to leave LUFC at the moment, Do you think some are waiting to see what NW's next move will be on buying new players?

Dev..

Believable12 Unbelievable2

Well if we actually get some type of investment i think we will still have mccormack, snoddy, clayton and maybe white at the club as i think they will be offered better contracts than the last offer they got. no point getting rid of our better players without having replacements ready to come in

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton has been all over twitter mentioning his holiday to Mexico, and the fact that ER and I quote.... Will be rocking for first match of season.... Excited about it he is.... Now does that really sound like a player that's signing for Burnley, or indeed anyone else this summer..... IMO he ...AND THE REST know what's going on... Strange that even Snoddy has stopped questioning the clubs ambition. Clayt's is more concerned with his tan than his immediate future.... I have no idea when any announcement will be made, but if was a betting man then the start of july makes sense.... If we do sign Adam Dury then that tells you what all these supposed people who...KNOW SOMEONE actually know, cos that is one name that to my knowledge has not been mentioned at all !! Looks Like the takeover is complete and the new owner is ............. Bernard Arnault . Well that is according to wiki he has bought us for 61 million Euros (£49,000,000) and his personal wealth is a est 41 billion . Which Neil Warnock has made his second signing in Paddy Kenny for 500,000. Maybe a double announcement today or is it more wiki bulls£&t.

Believable5 Unbelievable13

Anyone can change wiki and leeds not worth 49 million pounds we dont own the stadium or the training ground our only asstets is the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates is a very smart man he will off bought er and ta back after all lust did state that he has a loan out for around 6 mill why would any1 buy a club if all they would get is the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

We all know bates own both elland rd and thorp arch...they will have to be in any deal that gets done....i'm sure he has a way of keeping it all quiet until the deal is done then it will leak out somewhere that one of his overseas companies owns them in which we don't have to know who the owner of the company is.

i can see it now!

Roblufc84

Agree0 Disagree0

Wiki says nothing of the sort, nor has it recently been changed? Less wiki bulls£&t just bulls£&t! JH

Agree0 Disagree0

This doesn't fit well with me, purely because, according to the Wiki page on Arnault

Quote; "Neil Warnock used new funds to sign for the forth time QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny for a total fee of £500,000. Bernard fashioned a liking for Leeds United due to his close relationship with Leeds supporting rentboy Samuel Gallagher"

I know what a rentboy is, but why is it on Wiki?

Agree0 Disagree0

The Wiki PARAGRAPH regarding the purchase HAS been REMOVED!

Agree0 Disagree0

People keep stating about leeds not having any assests only the playing squad, not owing the ground etc...i work in business and the biggest asset to leeds is the fans of which there are plently, good support and loyal support. i would love my bussiness to have a small faction of the support leeds have, although if it did i wouldnt have as much free time to look at this website so every cloud has a silver linning. any business with leeds support is worth £49 million easy, then you have squad, website, LUTV, the radio and maybe other faclities like ground to buy back...think this rumour could be true...hope so anyway

harry redknapp could be straight back into football management, with Neil Warnock set to leave Leeds due to the promised funds not being delivered, Harry said he is willing to manage the Yorkshire club, he said he would like a challenge before he retires, and to be honest, managing leeds, is a massive challenge for anyone!

Believable4 Unbelievable21

Redknapp needs transfer funds if non for warnock even less for redknapp plus redknap would want a bigger wage andf redknap wouldnt touch leeds with a bargepost please show us where he said that milky

Agree0 Disagree0

Go away no funds no postion for redknapp, if colin was going to go he would of gone by now, things at leeds must be going ok otherwise colin would of walked...in colin we trust...also redknapp would not leave his poole home and that is a journy and a half, would take a day just to get to work

Bernard Arnault wiki

He has just bought English Championship Football Club Leeds United off Ex-Chelsea Chairman for a total price of €61,000,000 (£49,000,000) and is now controlling a 65% sharehold in the club. In a recent press conference Arnault was reported to have said, 'I want to make them the biggest club first in England, then the world!'
Neil Warnock used new funds to sign for the forth time QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny for a total fee of £500,000. {Ed013's Note - Anyone can edit that site}

Keith Andrew (despite being sent off last night), has been the best player in a Republic of Ireland shirt at the Euros. He is a free agent and would absolutely do a job for us in the middle of the park. I have heard Bolton are interested, I personally hope that we are too.

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Andrews is drivel. Worst player in the tournament.

Agree0 Disagree0

To whoever said he is drivel, who can we afford who is any better? He was by far the best player for ROI, the sending off was pathetic and it only happened because he was fighting for his pride with his nation sitting on 0!, most players would of just gave up.
I think he would be perfect in the middle of the park, had the bite of Brown but actual covered some ground and had some great strikes at goal. On a free, cant go wrong!

Who is this Keith wotsisface fan?
Leeds need far superior players than him.

Snodgrass defo going 2 aston villa. Not loyalty in football anymore. Lacyleeds

Believable7 Unbelievable12

I wish him best of luck, and you obviously know nothing about football because snoddy has been one of loyalist players we have had, he has to think about his career and sure he's sick of bates and his empty promises, any other player in his shoes would of gone 2 seasons ago!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but its not his decision he is under contract, so will be NW/chairmans decision if they sell him. I dont want him to go but you can understand, who doesnt want to progress in their career.
KarlT

Agree0 Disagree0

To the 2nd post:
ur take on loyalty is laughable! 4-5 seasons with us doesn't make him our most loyal player and why would he have left 2 seasons ago when we was just promoted?!?! I agree with the 1st post loyalty is a rare thing in football nowadays. But if Snodders is going then i wish him all the best

nothing will be sorted until we have confirmation of the investment as reported by lust.

Peltier from leicester, paddy kenny, kenny to sign definetly. For 500k today, or (19th june) Not to sure on peltier, would be a good signing though!

Believable4 Unbelievable6

It is the 19th of june today.... bit of a flaw in the rumour

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Kenny signing will be a good yardstick regarding Warnock. If he signs, it seems logical to assume Warnock will be sticking around as I doubt he'd sign his prodigal son and then leave him in the lurch.

Out watching the Spain game with a friend of mine tonight. Some interesting little titbits.

He just came back from a week's golfing in Spain where he met Howard Wilko one day and then SG the next. SG stated that the atmosphere at Huddersfield is electric, happy people, totally different to LUFC. Also, he hardly ever had a penny to spend at LUFC, and he only spent £500k last year. The company concentrated too much on the stadium.

The next titbit was that my mate is friends with a guy that works for LUFC (ie direct contact) who says:

a) Bates has not been seen at ER for months because he is ill
b) Bates is ready to sell up because the cost base built and the alienation of the fans means he can't service it - ie, he is aware not enough money is coming in
c) Because Bates has made it clear through a number of avenues that he is keen to sell, the delay is not due to due diligence with one company, but is due to the large number of people who have expressed a desire to purchase the club.
d) Because Bates is ill, most of the work is being done by Harvey. Bercause Harvey has been at the club for so long, he is keen to ensure that it is sold to someone who has the best interests of LUFC at heart, not selling to some joker aka Portsmouth.
e) But because Harvey is doing a lot of th negotiation but he does not have control, there are delays as Bates makes decisions and some things Harvey can not decide upon.
f) It is definitely about selling up. Bates knows he can't bankroll the club this year. But apparently, he is trying to do his damnedest to ensure that the people who do buy the club do have the best interests of the club at heart, and they wil not just be looking at selling the club on in a year or two for a quick buck (aka Pompey)

In other words, it could take a long while, and Bates may pop his clogs before it happens, but even though the current regime have completely screwed it all up, they are keen to make sure that they don't just sell to any Tom Dick or Harry.

I am seeing them in a slightly wamer glow at the mo.

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Sounds realistic and positive MOT!!! Something WILL works out in the end!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Your post contradits itself at each line of cours udders are electrified they got promotion bates has not bankrolled leeds bates was in leeds less than 4 weeks ago and no one has made a quick buck from porstmouth

Agree0 Disagree0

Total poppycock. Bates attended Leeds Crown Court a few weeks back and looked fine. Also, you seem confused about whether Bates is leaving because he is ill or because he has alienated the fans. Personally I'm 99% sure Bates isn't leaving and we will have a relegation fight on our hands next year.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Bates is ill, how come he met up with Warnock in Monaco last week.

Agree0 Disagree0

This sounds feasible. The Bates being ill rumour has been around for a while and the man is an octogenarian. With the hostility amongst supporters it would be understandable if he wanted to sell and as the poster wrote, not to any 'Tom, Dick or Harry' as that would tarnish his legacy.

Let's hope we hear something more tangible soon.

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe part of this post as I posted several weeks ago long before the season finished that Bates had been told to sort all his affairs and liquidate due to illness. It isnt a matter that the guy is going to die soon just that at over 80 years old he needs to take it easy and the stress of running a club is too much. No matter what people think of him he wants Leeds back in the prem and wanted to be known as the guy that took them back there. I remember back in the 80's when Chelsea won the old 2nd division and we played them away on the last game Bates quoted in the press that you would have thought Leeds had won the league not us their support was brilliant. I believe in the end that is why he saved our club.
In my opinion if there was no takeover going on there would be comments from ER all the time so the lack of comments whilst frustrating is a good thing? I also think Warnock would have gone if he wasnt going to get what he needs for promotion as he said that last season.
Gaz

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok bates doesn't spend a lot of time here for tax reasons, he is no more I'll than any other 80-odd year old.

Harvey negotiates all transfers. Allen is the finance director.

Let's Stop taking a tit bit and turning it into something it is not.

Agree0 Disagree0

I was right with you there ... Right until the last sentence .... Has the club at heart. This man has no heart... He is businessman first, last and always... He doesn't care which of Tom, Dick OR Harry he sells to as long as the they pay the most.... And then , if Uncle Tom Cobley put a late bid in of more, then he would accept that instead.... That's why there is a delay.... He is trying to run an auction, to get every last penny he can...... IMO. MOT Gingerstreak.
