Alan Smith to sign on a season long loan before the start of the season. Craig Dawson also to sign on loan. Leeds have made an enquiry for beckford on loan but it has been turned down sothey now have turned there attention to sharp. Swap deal for Pantyer most likely.

Ed can we not stop the smith posts getting on the website like the hk ones? Must be so many ill informed ppl thinking that deal will happen they must all be in love with him

Joey Barton working for the minimum wage? Leeds don't need prima donnas, LU need hard working, honest players who play for each other and care for the club they play for.
Barton always has and always will consider himself and only himself. I pity the club that takes him on and I hope no-one does.

Chuffed Howson is captain...need him to sign a new contract though a long with Gradel. Im sure Howson's contracts up at the end of this season...

There around 6 or 7 players with contracts up at the end of the season. howson, gradel, sam and clayton being the ones that stand out, i think the others are tom lees, aidy white and brown but hes only ever gunna get a rolling contract now at his age

If you ask me Howson won't want to leave the club as he came through the academy and was brought up less than five miles away, he'll only go unless he has to

I wanted to read the story "how about going up" in the yep online but the page seems to be unavailable(tried a couple of times at different times). Anyone read it, was there something said that should not have been perhaps?

We didnt pick up "the young talent" last season so why do you think it will be any different this this time around. We dont seem able or prepared to compete in the transfer market at the moment, i really hope that changes. All well and good unbeaten in pre season friendlies, our results in the championship over the coming months are what counts, i look at our defence and central midfield and still not convinced we are good enough or strong enough in those areas to compete across a 9 month season.

Bates haters a fact you have missed - we are doing really, really well under Bates and have had a brilliant pre-season. Message over.

Young Chelsea Left-Back Patrick Van-Aanholt will join on a season long loan in next 48 hours

He played for Chelsea against Villa in the Asia cup in Hong Kong. Looked very comfortable (pace, tackles, passing, positional awareness)

I imagine he might not be loaned out this season, could feature in chelseas 1st team plans

There is absolutely no chance of Chelsea lending us any of their players. I dont think KB is on Roman's Cmas card list

Very highly rated too i would take him if it happened.

I would imagine our relationship with Chelsea was nt the best ...

Not a prayer of getting anyone from Chelski at all.. Abamovich hates Bates more that some Leeds fans

Whether Chelsea would or not is irrelevant. I can't see KB eating humble pie and going to them and saying "Please Mr Abramovich can we borrow one of your players?" can you?

O'Dea is a possibility from Celtic- Lichaj and Andrews on season long loans- Larry is lucky Clayton & Nunez look to have stepped up their game, cause Brown & Andrews does not equal Kilkenny & Johnson- also, did anyone else think Lonergan didn't look interested v. Newcastle?

The guy who wrote this, do u watch Leeds? Or football for that matter, you would take brown and Andrews over killa and johnno anyday, killa was a poor mans David batty who was only good when he sat in the hole with all the play infront of him, brown is twice the player he is and Andrews is a solid no nonsense player who can only add quality to the squad. Have a bit of faith man

Brown is 34 and looked crap on Saturday I was there so yes I do "watch" Leeds Andrews would be a decent signing but if you knew anything about football you would admit that Leeds with Kilkenny in the side were a better footballing team and Johnson had a decent season- take off the blinkers and be objective- both were under contract and not loanees and both were under 25 Get a life....

I watch leeds week in and week out and killa was invariably the player who made the difference to the team. as for a poor mans batty, they are 2 completely different players; batty was a hard midfielder but could only pass sideways whereas killa was the type of player who was always looking for the ball and looking to set up attacks. Anyone who attended regularly will know this and you can guarantee that when he comes back to ER with Bristol he will run the game and people will wonder why we let him go.

I agree totally - both should have received contract extensions and by signing a full back / centre half and a holding player in midfield we woud be nailed on to go up this season

Batty could only pass side ways? Did you ever see him play for Blackburn? He knocked it about like Glen Hoddle He was told to win the ball and give it to Gary Mac, who was usually stood at the side of him, hence a side ways pass.

I am a season ticket holder at Leeds and I you look at the games we got murdered in were the games that killa didn't play in. It doesn't help the team when SG insists on playing a lone striker that has no pace and can't hold a Ball up to save his life. We need two holding midfield players and a striker with pace and the ability to hold the ball up and take the pressure off the rest of the team.

How can you knock bechio? haha we have speed allover and he gets the goals as for holding it up, we don't play like that if you ever went to a game you would know snoddy and max feed the ball to him where hes in great positions get gone hater

Whats the Situation with Mendy and Bodor? is SG gonna make a decision? i think Mendy looked good in all his games and we should definately sign him up not sure about Bodor.
Thoughts?

Definitely get mendy in, however, bodor not really sure may be a good squad player, bring him on to make an impact later on in games?

Bring bodor on to make an impact? he's a left back not a striker going on what i saw sat and from what others have said e.g. thom kirwin i don't think i would chance bodor but definitely give mendy at least a year contract or 6 months similar to what we did with nunez.

I see John Spector is set to have a medical at Birmingham. Duncan Castles on Twitter had said that we were very interested. Thats a shame if we missed out as he is a versatile, athletic, disciplined player who keeps it tidy and works hard. Can play across the back four or in midfield if necessary.

Would be quality IMO

Agree, a good midfielder. A busy player who isn't bad on the ball. Not a prolific scorer, but i think he could get a few more at Leeds.

I posted here asking for opinions of him, now all the rumours are coming around saying we will get him. Don't post pure crap please.
