Leeds United manager Simon Grayson has hit back at another week of speculation that has seen players linked with moves away from the club.
Player of the Year Max Gradel was the latest media reported target, but Grayson has hit back at the stories and says "it's easy to put a headline in a newspaper."
"Max was back with everyone else on Thursday and he was full of the joys of spring, " said the United boss.
"He's fantastic to work with and got stuck right in just as you would expect.
"Unfortunately you can't stop speculation. It shows the calibre of players we have, but there's been no written offers for Max.
"As I always say, any deal outgoing would have to be to the benefit of the club, that's why Kasper went to Leicester.
"If someone offers mega money for a player you always have to weigh up if it's for the best, but we don't have to sell.
"There's so much speculation, too many people get carried away with it. It's easy to put a headline in a newspaper.
"With any deals we do, either in or out, we will do them as quietly as possible."

Just searched this site. I'm a Leeds fan living down south. Quite often see Marcus bent in esher, Surrey. (nice bloke) he told me Bowyer is not interested in a return to Leeds. He is after one final decent pay day and won't get that with us. He was also on loan last season at the blunts and said Montgomary is desperate to move to ER. Grayson however has offered them a pool of players ( Bruce, bessone, grella, bromby) but obviously reading the papers
, they are after paynter
If anyone is interested. Bent seems to have got the arse with football. Said he's not really fussed if he finds a club for next season.

Ed great site firstly, all the people saying we need t sign this and that player, hav u seen our youth that's coming thru, clayton came on loads at mk dons, lees and white also playd well for their loan clubs, I don't think were a million miles away from challenging with wot we've got. I really don't see the problem at the mo. When Leeds was in a good run we was really good. We already have the players to compete in the championship. With Leeds it's all about confidence. That's what the manager needs to install in the team. Leeds only start playing when they are 1-0 down so we should be going from the start like we are losing. Same goes for when we take a 1-0 lead we then seem to sit back. I don't think we need loads of great named players. We need someone with a bit of experience to get as going and also calm us down. We make too many mistakes by inexperience. That is my only prob with sg. He will take Leeds far. Leeds will be challenging fir promotion this year, I know it. Have faith. LEEDS LEEDS LEEDS.
Their is no way with the defence that we've got we can compete for the top six this year. I think this is going to be a stronger league this time round and it shows after last season if you haven't got a strong back line you wont finish where you need to. The aim should always be to better the season before and strengthen the area's that let you down. COME ON LEEDS
Yeah I see where your coming from. Defence defo needs work but also think we have so much potential in our team. Leeds just need that cutting edge.

Sorry I've got to comment on the money nonsense spouted on here. We're one of the only clubs IN THE COUNTRY that makes money (not a lot 15k in 2010 I think, excluding the Delph money) but we at ABSOLUTE WORST break even.
Where do some of you think money comes from, the sky ???, we have to take care of ourselves as a business, and KB is securing our long term future by increasing our revenue by renovating the ground etc...
What would you prefer, we blast a load of money on championship level rubbish like Leicester are doing at the moment, seriously 1.7m for Pilkington and 3m for McKail-Smith, both league 1 players. I'd be going mental if we we're throwing cash around we don't have like this.

1. We don't want to get in financial trouble again by spending comaratively big money on average players who have no interest in the club.
2. We have already proved that you can get good players on frees or small transfer fees.
3. If we keep Gradel and Snodgrass, we only need 3/4 players. A couple of defenders and a couple to balance the midfield up.
One final comment. Everyone is slagging Bates off for not spending but the stadium was not full last season. The more people who go to ER, the better the finances will be. Its simple
Absolutely right considering that the new fifa rules about revnue and spending means that clubs now have to live within their means i think that our long term future is looking the most secure i have ever seen it
We are spending 7 million on a stand. If we invested that in the team we would be very likely to get promoted and then we could do the stand with all that TV money. Also if you are interested we would have made a £700000 loss last year had it not been for player sales which is pretty damn poor for a £27 million turnover. So please stop making Bates out to be some super businessman because that he is not.

When are some people going to realise on here we don't have the money to compete with the west hams of this world. They still have huge debt but can borrow money to sign players / pay big wages. Leeds live by our means, no one will lend us money because of our past. Let's all face facts we are a team who will depend on frees and loan players. Lets all stop moaning and see who we sign first. Sky Sports reporting that Crystal Palace are going to sign free agent Paddy Kisnorbo...if this comes to pass I don't know what to make of the current Leeds transfer policy. Ed I know you keep saying hold on, and I'm really trying, but we only appear to be letting players go at the minute, I hope to God we have 4/5 quality players lined up or the season ticket will be going to Master Bates and I'll wait till he's gone. Paddy signed a six month deal to prove his fitness....he will not be a free agent until jan 2012 and by then if he is fit he will sign a new long term deal
Paddy did not sign a 6mth deal until 2012. His contract ran out today. The club have simply offered to allow him to attend pre-season and prove his fitness, if he can they will offer him a deal, so in theory he could sign for anyone now as he is a free agent.
No you'll find Leeds wanted to see how he goes in pre season before offering him a year contract

Some really interesting reading on here today, in regards to kb. At times I think we are not kept in the loop enough on what's happening at er, but that's kb all over, everything top secret But after coining out a small fortune every year, like thousands of others, I would say that we are entitled to a bit more info on the leeds website, than just 'becchio on is way back to fitness'.
I know he got us out of the s**t when things went pear shaped, but we do deserve some info, not just larry saying everything will be kept under wraps (leeds website today). Its us who keep the club alive, so a bit more 'in the know would be nice'. Thoughts anyone? Bri

Ed, could you confirm is Paddy Kisnorbo still a Leeds player? I was under the impression we gave him a new contract but Sky Sports says Palace are making a move for free agent patrick Kisnorbo. {Ed015's Note - I can confirm that Sky sports are incorrect}

Leeds offers kisnorbo a short term contract at end ofthe season to prove his fitness. But as he as been back home in rehab he has not signed yet. So as from now yes he is a free agent until he signs a new deal.

It's not a press conference it's just some of the press going to thorp arch to interview SG about preseason and trying to get and news on signings. That is why there is a small interview with SG on SSN and it shows you some of the players training.
It was part of the Radio Leeds report on the sports programme yesterday following the 6pm news. Definitely said there would be a press conference which I then informed my mates about leaving us all wondering what the news would be

i have tried being patient but im now starting to get concerned about the lack of transfer activity at leeds.if uncle ken had invested in a decent central defender and a holding midfielder last january we would be in the prem now, if he really wants leeds back were we belong he needs to pull his finger out or sell the club to someone else.ive got this bad feeling that were going to bring in kids and loan signings nobody else wants.i hope im wrong.
If we got promoted last yr we would b 35 mil down to the tax man part of out argreement after leaving administration. Now however that clause is outdated and void so we will push for promotion this season

Eidur Gudjohnsen is not getting his contract renewed....he would be a nice gamble..
Would be a good signing, but I don't think he is willing to play at 2nd tier. With his reputation, he can get a decent contract in some other league (1st tier, obv) and he isn't actually afraid of moving around.

I heard that we are in talks with James Mcfadden, he is a free agent so that would obviously attract bates haha. But also he is a commanding midfielder, as johnson were (at times) i think he would be a good signing. {Ed015's Note - wouldnt say no to him}
James mcfadden is a left sided winger/striker not a comanding cm
I would love this to happen... Mcfadden can play in the center and for me would be a better option to Smith (I am not a Smith hater, but I think his best days are behind him... the broken ankle killed his career)

Why are the leeds board or manager not defending the club angaist all the slander, i.e club are selling all the best players, clubs in debt, won't pay higher wages, and so on...
If it's not ture we need to be telling other clubs to get stuffed when they are linked with our best players, and how the hell are we going to attract the right players if the are doubts about the likes Snod's & Gardel staying. we need tp pratray an image that we are a club moving forward not standing still.

They aren't responding because it is all complete 'tosh'... we sold Kasper for £1.5million, which is 100% profit and his wages off our books (He will have been one of the highest paid players at the club) - Good business for a 'dodgy' keeper. The club have shown their intent to keep our better players by rejecting £7million for Snoddy, but seriously, if Norwich came back with £9-£10million, I think we would be stupid not to accept it - If Bates put the money back in to the team we could get at least 4-5 decent players for this
