We were linked with Montero at Swansea and I thought he would be great, not been mentioned for a while even though he looks good in premier league. Pace to burn and both footed.

I personally don't think we will get anyone in in this window. Shame because it's a real opertunity

After tonight's performance we need two game changers an additional striker and a play maker . no I don't know who would suit but we are a long way short really .

One bad performance in 2 month an were a long way off? 4th in a very tough league an were a long way off? I personally think you are a long way off. Yeah another striker would b nice. But we got wood. Failing that roofe ain't been given chance to step up neither has antonson whose to say they ain't gunna tear the league apart. An to say we need another playmaker with hernandez, bridcutt and sacko in the squad your having a laugh. Main thing for me is strong cover for that back four so we don't have to put a makeshift defence together. We are definitely not a long way short

We need 1 striker and 1 defender, no need for another midfielder, mowatt is a decent sub for Hernandez, we are 4th so being a long way of is ridiculous to say, I'd be happy with a top 6 finish this season, please remember where we was last season and stop expecting magic after 1 year of good performances -_-

Two interesting developments that I've seen whilst cruising the rumour mills of the internet. Firstly Ulloa has handed in a transfer request. Supposedly we looked at him before, scores for fun at this level, can step up and score in the prem, must be worth a call to his club, cheeky loan if nothing else?

Also Brum are going to release Spector from the last 6 months of his contract, now he is expected to go back stateside but he is a good defender that can play in a couple of positions, could maybe tempt him to finish the season on the promotion hunt before making his mind up, again worth a call to his agent maybe?

I rate Ulloa at this level and has what it takes to win the prem! Spector might just do us, been at this level for years and is an. Good quality CB, hate watching Leeds play against him so it may be time he owed us a favour or two?

Woody linked with that Chinese club that tried to sign Costa.

If I were in MC's and AR's shoes then £30m to China. Take the momey and go on a last minute spending spree for the push to the play offs

The dream is nice Lucas but we will never get £30m for a striker in the second division just because he's banging them in. I'd happily take about £15-£20m for wood to China because they overestimate everything, but for once he looks happy in a Leeds shirt and is shooing off the critics this year so it may be a sign of things to come? Either way, if he stays he'll hit 20 goals this year, if he doesn't, bring in someone new who can do the same with something more about their game

Wow ! Lost out on Costa, now there number one choice is Wood 😳 The Chinese are still a long way off in footballing terms aren't they?

This sounds like a super made up story from whichever tabloid came up with it. I mean are you really going to chase players like Cavani and Costa for over £60m and offers of £300,000 p/w wages then settle for a championship striker? and if so wouldn't you go for the top scorer at least (Gayle) . It would be like Man City saying 'Well we wanted Messi but let's settle for Glen Murray, he's doing ok for Brighton', seems nonsensical to me.

I've read a report today that we are still wanting Canos and Fletcher but seeking both on loans deals with view to buy. why do we always seem to go for loan to buy deals more than permanent transfers. maybe i'm being pessimistic but I don't want to get to the end of the season knowing that our best players belong to other clubs.

I agree but I also think that currently we are not able to compete financially with Newcastle, villa, Norwich, Birmingham, reading etc. For us currently loan moves are the best option as we will be able to source the funds at a later date to buy these players. Garry knows what to do.

Fletcher was always going to be on loan only, and canos would be a bad signing Imo.

Reading made a massive financial loss last season and must be promoted or they're doomed. Can't see them spending silly money in January. Newcastle are only looking at loans. The likes of Villa are spending out of desperation to make the play offs and that never works out.

Loans to buy is quite a common thing in Europe, especially in Italy. It's actually one of the better methods of signing players, especially with January signings as you'll know by the end of the loan if they've fit into your set up or not. Plus there's always a fee agreed beforehand so there's no moving of the goalposts come signing time. Like one of the other posters said, I wouldn't be too upset if we didn't splash the cash this month as those who are, are the ones who feel they need to. We're better saving our money for the summer.

See Canos as the better of the two signings Swadlad. Fletcher is 21 and managed 5 Lg goals in Lg1 last term as a forward. Canos is only 19 and hit 7 in the champ as a winger. Not working out for him at Norwich but his style of play suits Monk (Similar to a young Hernandez).

Not saying he walks into the team but I think he could walk into a prem team in a year or two with the right guidance, also would be nice to take someone elses exciting young players rather than the other way around for once.

Just don't rate canos, just don't see him getting into the team tbh, I mean if he's all we can sign then ok but if we are to challenge for a top 2 finish I think we need better, I was hoping someone like bakary sako or someone similar.
