Yeah mate leeds 4-2 up andy gray with 2 and robbie rodgers and billy paynter with the others

Aidy White has signed a new 3 year contract! On official site now.
Wish it was Snoddy instead.

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Good, he's worth keeping. Still lot's to learn but he's nowt but a boy.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

The question is does Snoddy want to stay, if he does then sign the contract, if he doesn't then nearly 2 million in the transfer kitty and bring others in that want to play for Leeds.

Foxrat

Agree0 Disagree0

I have stayed optimistic through all the various speculation over the last few months and, based on what has happened and I have read on the various sites, I reckon that Snoddy's signature on a new contract will probably come (my opinion, not a rumour).

Even if no one else is signed (although I also think there will be more), the team is stronger than the end of last season and I am looking forward to the serious business of supporting the team from afar for a new season.

AussieMOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Brilliant! Big thumbs down to all those saying he was overrated, dispensible etc these past few weeks. Shame on you in fact! Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

You seem to be forgetting Snoddy still has a year on his contract whereas Clayton didn't.

Give Snoddy some respect, he hasn't asked to leave and is waiting till xmas, hopefully, before making any decision, as agreed with Warnock

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton did have a year actually, along with mccormack, only ehite and brown and the released players contracts ran out

Agree0 Disagree0

According to sky sports the other day he did put in a transfer request after the Norwich bid but despite that would like him to stay ,though equally pleased White as re signed as we are not blessed with pace in the side and he at least provides some

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure Clayton had time left on his contract, that's why we received a fee for him! I'm sure you meant to put White though mate, otherwise it doesn't make a great deal of sense!
Just the 4 weeks to go now! (3 if we're counting the Capital One Cup - great name!?) Fingers crossed that Snoddy signs, Austin comes in and the takeover is completed! MARCHING ON TOGETHER - JamesC {Ed020's Note - clayton still had a year if memory serves me right,}

Hey fellow leeds fans, i have a little bit gossip about the snoddgras saga.
snoddgras is being sold to norwich for 2 million pound, this will bring in david tempelton as a replacement for 1 million pound.
the other transfers in the next two weeks are:
Luke Varney 300k
David Norris 175k
Rodolph Austin 250k
David Tempelton 1 million

McCormack is staying and will form a strike force with Becchio.

Warnock is also monitoring Zac Whitbread from norwich but faces a high salary demand from the american. the right back spot remains a problem, but a loan move for either Adam Smith or Eric Lichaj kan be a cheap option and they have played for leeds before and is a big plus.

Possible team for next year:

GK: Kenny
RB: Smith/Lichay/Thompson/Lees
CB: Whitbread
CB: Pearce/Lees
LB: Drury

RM: Tempelton
CM: Austin
CM: Norris
LM: Varney

ST: McCormack
ST: Becchio

Subs: Cairns, Pugh, Kisnorbo, Somma, Gray, Brown, Green

MOT! /Sweden Jason

Believable6 Unbelievable15

Obviously they have better contacts and sources than we do in Sweden than we do in the UK where Leeds are actually based then?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think green will be in starting lineup and smith hardly played a game but lihaj would be good.

Been told by someone on the Leeds United coaching staff that David Norris and Luke Varney are having medicals at Thorp Arch today, Warnock wants the deals signed before the squad head to Cornwall.

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Luke varney has already had a medical at thorpe arch a week ago after training with the leeds united players for a few days.. and im led to believe norris has agreed terms with sheffield weds? not 100% on the norris thing but i know varney bit is true.

This was mention in the YEP atricle coming form Farsley's boss...do we reckon this will actually happen or is he just guessing??
Would he be allowed to say something like that so openly?

What do we think?

We can only hope. Let's hope we see some Bahraini blokes in the crowd tonight

Agree0 Disagree0

The way things are going its more likely an announcement that Snodgrass offer has been accepted and he wont be playing, than a takeover. Selling two club captains in 6 months would be a great sign off for Batesy!!

Agree0 Disagree0

He MUST know something to come out and say that surely?!

But how can Parsley know anything about it? just who has he been talking to that the rest of the world hasn't been? It seems very strange that he'd know something and/or be claiming publicly that he does know something

Heard niel is intrested in beckford when T-O happens. know a lot of people sayin he only cut it in leauge 1(people in stray jackets!) 10 goals in 16 starts in the prem for everton more than players who went on to represent england that year. And 16goals at leister in a season of uncertanty and not a regular starter. At leeds where he would be happy and starting he get 25-30 goals a season. Look at the stats also becchio gets goals galore playing of pace, look what he did with beckford or gradel stretching the defence, last season with a slow man not so good. Jermaine Beckford come on home son. Tommo.lufc.84

Believable16 Unbelievable7

Tommo, i agree with you 100% pal. ive aid it before, and im saying it now that becks n becchio play off each other so well, we havent had a formiddle front 2 for leeds since the mid/late 90's.
-J-

Agree0 Disagree0

You need to start watching him play rather than looking at stats he would rather lose 3-1 and score rather than win 1-0 and not score dont think warnock would want such a lazy one trick pony in his team

Agree0 Disagree0

In Beckford i trust..! clearly loves the club so we should welcome him back

Woody MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

I know how much he earns at Leicester and it is 3x more than anyone at Leeds. With a couple of years left on his contract why would he come back to Leeds for less money.
Wouldn't mind seeing him back (so long as he puts a shift in and doesn't moan like a spoilt kid) but it isn't going to happen

if snodders wants to go then let him go on our terms not his or anybody elses, we dont need him. also it looks like Barry Kewell might be in an opposition team at Elland Road this season that could be an interesting afternoon you wont be welcomed back

Believable10 Unbelievable7

I don't see why Warnock wants him, Warnock has emphasised his desired for pace within the team and Snoddy is slow and skillful, would much rather see a quick and less skillful winger than him at ER! Don't get me wrong, I think he's a good player but doesn't suit the Championship well!

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't suit the championship well??
12 goals and like 14-16 assists last season....suits well enough I think!

Agree0 Disagree0

We do need pace, yes but with snoddy on the right, I'd like to see the pace on the left and at right back. You can't just take our best player out of the team. He reads the game unbelievably well for a young player, he's not too quick but he makes teams play at his pace. He's great on and off the ball. Scores and creates 25+ goals every season.Any championship team would do well to hold onto him. There's a reason why prem teams are after him. He's one of the best players in the championship and would by no means be one of the worst in the prem.
We could not replace snodgrass if we sold him, on normal circumstances, a snodgrass with 3 years remaining would cost 6-7 million. That's the full amount an owner can put in for transfers per season at our level.

I'm all for " if a player doesn't want to play for us then let him leave". But snoddy does want to play for us, he just wants the club to show some ambition, which means an increase in wages and some very good signings.I think the signings we've made are good and solid for our level. But I think snoddy wants better at his end of the pitch. We're still waiting on that.

Warnock looking for a sub keeper, RB, LM, CM and striker before season starts

Believable9 Unbelievable4

And if this is the case my personal preference would be as follows:

GK - McCarthy
RB - Naughton (Probably a bit expensive) / Peltier / McNaughton
LM - Whittingham / Kightly
CM - Whittingham / Burke
ST - Maynard / Beckford

These players are obviously my own opinion, besides currently with KB in charge we would defo not be able to afford them all, however get this takeover sorted and who knows :) MOT SussexLeeds

Agree0 Disagree0

^No chance of signing Naughton, Whittingham or Maynard but I did like the look of Burke last season when he played at ER for Birmingham, looked quicker than White at times!

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair play, maybe not Naughton or Whittingham as both will ply their trade at the top level, but Maynard for me is one to keep an eye on, West Ham are currently spending, they have 6 recognisable strikers including Maynard, think we should monitor his situation as I can't see him being a first choice option for Allardyce next season, heres hoping anyway :) MOT SussexLeeds

Agree0 Disagree0

PSJ - We currently have about 6 centre backs at the club, albeit I am hoping 2 of them will not be around come the start of the season, but there is nothing wrong with Tom Lees, Paddy Kisnorbo, Jason Pearce (Portsmouth fans rate him) and Adam Drury (Been around for a long time now, played championship and premier league level for a lot of his career), I am pretty happy with what we have defensively now, who would you like to see come in? Dan b

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets be honest. There is no loyalty in football anymore. The last twenty years of the premiership have killed that, amongst other things. The basic facts are that snodgrass can earn more money at the moment at Norwich. Fact, wether we llike it or not. ''we are a bigger club'' is a pointless arguement. Financially we are not. Lets hope that changes over the next couple of years! Modern day footballers are mercenaries, they will go where the money is. Thats not their fault, its the system that stinks. So dont blame snoddy when he leaves. If you were offered a massive pay rise would you turn it down? No. So, he will go when the price is right. Oh for the days of the maximum wage. You can blame Jimmy Hill really for the dawn of greedy footballers.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not a question of us giving up, Snoddy is in constant touch with Jhonson and Howson and have convinced him to join them, he is making it known he wants to leave

Agree0 Disagree0

A step backwards? Get real! The only mighty whites I know of are loaves of bread. You're just like Villa, living off past glories, the future's bright, the future's yellow (and green). You wanted your team in the PL, this is the only way it's gonna happen!
