What you are seeing is good PR. I think they are drip-feeding information on the signings that have probably been tied up for several days and weeks in some cases. I think it's highly unlikely that Drury was only sorted yesterday and Green only sorted out today, and tomorrow and Friday there will probably be another one or two that are already in the bag that they've just not released the info on. In most companies, wages are processed mid-month so they were probably waiting until after these players (whose contracts were up) had had their June (and final) pay processed before they felt comfortable releasing the info that they were signing on 1st July. Of course this will only be unattached players, as soon as deals for attached players are finalised they'll release this info ASAP.

So this should quiet the doubters and the moaners, most of whom have no idea of how business transactions work, for a little while until a week or so into July when they will then start moaning that we've not BOUGHT anyone. I hope we buy some players before then just to shut up the moaners who generally make this site dull and depressing.

We've signed three good players, not Messi or Ronaldo, but three good players - smile, enjoy the sunshine, chill out!

Believable11 Unbelievable6

It's good to see a nice stable, sensible level headed post, all of which makes absolute sense.
I have to disagree with you on the moaners and groaners, I feed on them.
They're good to wind up.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

100% agreed and deff love the moaners and groaners

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates said at the end of last season that he didn't want to pay wages during the off season, so no new news here.
We still haven't paid for or sold a player since Pearce a month or so ago. Does this mean that we are in a takeover situation and can't buy or sell or is it simply that bates doesn't want to buy until we get funds from player sales?
People have posted about the YEP making twitter comments That the takeover is ongoing, but how does anyone know these are not people pretending to be Philip hay etc...?
The quiet from ER and by desire for a takeover to be true makes me think it true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moaning makes life fun and makes being a leeds fan easier, in colin we turst and three very good signings but still get relegated (have to even it out)

Agree0 Disagree0

Whos to say bates is still at the club . maybe the new owners are staying quiet untill all players are signed up to save money , rich people like to save money more than poor people in my experience .

Agree0 Disagree0

Ronaldo.................at Leeds? Wouldn't have him gracing our hallowed turf!

KTJ - Was Kent...........Now in Abu Dhabi!

Agree0 Disagree0

Burnley fans think that clayton is off down turf moor, from what he's said on twitter I doubt it

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Not going anywhere he flewout to mexico other day

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps he will refuse to move and instead fight for his place. Could be pretty good alongside Paul Green.

Agree0 Disagree0

Huddersfield fans think he's going there too. Hmm!

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton and green in centre mid will do for me

I did say that we'd already signed 3 players which would be formal signings on the 1st July. Like I said I have a contact within the club. Been MOT for 25 years myself. No reason to make rubbish up. The 3rd one is quality trust me. Also takeover/investment will be concluded shortly. Then the final pieces will be added. Expect a Striker who is proven at all levels to sign 2nd week July if not slightly before.
Leigh

Believable11 Unbelievable10

That you did leigh. so whos the third spill the beans dude lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this is true mate i have belief in you MOT!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well the only striker i can think of who is proven at all levels and available is michael owen

Agree0 Disagree0

If you mean El Hadji Diouf - yes hes a proven player but not a great goalscorer -38 goals in 10 years in England at all levels.
Not going to get us promoted unless he mkaes 40 / 50 !

Agree0 Disagree0

Leigh- top bloke!
All 3 signings Warnock has made Already are quality in my opinion, Pearce played well last season as did green. Drury is experienced which we need.

Let's hope that this 3rd secret signing is great stuff!

-WhiteForLife

Agree0 Disagree0

Michael owen Bjesus proven kind off but i dont think he could do a full season. if money comes in we need a young hunger striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably nick barmby coming out of retirement- all levels but mostly c**p ones

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely it will be El Hadj Diouf no ? Another 01 July wallah innit

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen? Don't be daft, I'm hoping it's bothroyd as he can do the job in championship and down in the pecking order at QPR, apparently around 4 of warnocks targets command fees so who knows

Agree0 Disagree0

Owens gone to stoke, so cross him off the list. i think sam bostock or what ever his name is from west ham.
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

Could it be emile hesky? im thinking of the ALL LEVELS not the quality..

Agree0 Disagree0

Michael owen has already stated he will not drop into championship.

It will more than likely be someone like Dj Cambell.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be so sure that its not Michael Owen.

one of m work mates is friends with Cameron Jerome of Stoke and has been since childhood (i have seen his facebook account as proof) and he has informed him that Owen is in talks with Leeds.....he told me this on friday!

Roblufc94

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm all for experience to boost a younger squad. But what of the long term future ? Is NWs plan to use an ageing super squad to gain promotion then let the next manager sort out an entirely new squad for the premiership (counting chickens I know). Seems a bit of a weak foundation for the mid term future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Beckford? Played at all levels don't no but possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Proven at all levels, boythrod is a shout but i think people have over looked dj campbell did well in the prem, would welcome him with open arms he is like a better version of beckford in that he misses fewer chances and has better tattos

Agree0 Disagree0

Proven at ALL levels... you mean, like Mikael Forrsell?

Agree0 Disagree0

Not someone like Forrsell I actual had a bet with a mate of mine that he wouldn't score once!!
Leigh

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Leigh the suspense is killing us here... if you do genuinly have a contact and know that the 3rd signing is quality... atleast tell us this... Has the player in question been named by one of the users who has replied to your post?????

Sankey.I

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, it certainly isn't Nick 'one leg shorter than the other ' Barmby

Leeds United will announce the signings David Norris, Lee Peltier, Jerome Thomas, Matthew Connolly, Paddy Kenny and DJ Campbell in the coming weeks.
ConnorMOT!

Believable15 Unbelievable15

We shall see won't we.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you getting that shopping from asda or tescos?
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure Norris has already signed for someone else but I can't remember who??

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish. all these players would do us well but not sure how realistic?

Agree0 Disagree0

Peltier and kenny are the only ones I see us signing from that shopping list.

Agree0 Disagree0

Keith Andrews to be announced tomorrow

Believable12 Unbelievable14

Announced as not a very good football player, I would 100% agree with this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is this guy, obsessed with Keith Andrews? Only Ed will know, is it the same guy are they all different?
JB {Ed013's Note - Different, a few from Ireland and some randoms}

Agree0 Disagree0

Please spare us! It was painful enough watching him toil at the Euros -and I'm not even Irish. Actually, I'm beginning to find all this constant bigging up of Keith Andrews in some quarters rather hilarious -what is it about this one-dimensional, one-paced clogger that has so caught some people's imaginations? Sorry, just can't see it myself. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

He did play well for Ipswich last year I thought. Scored about 9 goals I think in about half a season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought andrews was one of irelands best players at the euros (not a high bar set tbf tho!) and he'd be a great signing for us

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll be honest and say i don't know how good he is but if warnock thinks he can do a good job then i think we shud trust that judgement

Agree0 Disagree0

Personnally I think he is a quality championship midfielder. He did well for West Brom I the 2nd half of last season too in the Prem.

Am working on the network in this PR firm in Leeds and I have heard the bloke in the next office talking to somebody else on the phone about details for aa press conference being scheduled for 3rd July at Elland road. Might be the news we've been waiting for, or lets be honest it could just be another company announcing something and using one of the many shiny new conference rooms at the stadium. Thought i'd share it anyway

Believable6 Unbelievable9

If its the AA which one the car people or the blokes that dont let you drink!

LOL

Im sure you mean AM ( ie in the morning), couldnt resist the little joke!

Things must definitely be happening at ER... On OS

"Derby County midfielder Paul Green has agreed a deal to join Leeds United on July 1.

The 29-year-old has agreed a two-year contract and will formally join up with the club at the start of next month.

Paul follows Adam Drury and Jason Pearce into the club as Neil Warnock's summer recruitment drive steps up a gear and becomes the club's third signing of the summer."

Believable13 Unbelievable3

Great news....eat my shorts grayson...he wasnt interested in joining a poo team.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate it when they start ;Derby County midfielder' he isn't Derby County midfielder at all, more accurate would have been 'Unattached midfielder'

Agree0 Disagree0

Not un-attached til end of this month so is technically still a derby midfielder

Agree0 Disagree0

He is still a Derby county player, so its 100% correct.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2012 16:07:48
And Paul Green makes three.....

on OS now!

Come on you moaners.....

Believable10 Unbelievable7

These are probably 'the Bosmans mentioned in the YEP earlier this week. If its not a takeover then lets hope for significant investement to enable us to make some further 'cash' signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont understand some of you guys , Why make CASH signing when we can get players like Drury and Green free . How much would a player like green cost if under contract .

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2012 16:07:04
Paul Green, number 3, now i bet the people winging while NW was on holiday have shut up now!! takeover is not going to happen!!

leeds4life90

Believable11 Unbelievable13

It was never a takeover anyway it was always just a big investment which according to yep is still moving forward positivly and warnock wont sign anyone that needs a transfer fee until after

but two qaulity players in two days signed so its definatly looking up come on leeds

super leeds 2012

Agree0 Disagree0

See Phil hays twitter take over is well and truly happening it is and quote "talks are at an advanced but delicate stage edging towards a conclusion"

Agree0 Disagree0

Something must be happening, read that green was on 18k a week at derby so how would we afford to atleast match that, also if kenny comes in he is apparently on 20k plus a week and surely wouldnt take a huge paycut to join us? rumours everywhere but none of us have the slightest knowledge whats going on inside the four walls

Agree0 Disagree0

Why wouldnt the take over happen because we have signed another player???

Remember these are all FREE agents, no transfer fees!

Agree0 Disagree0

The takeover is definately on....just hang on a bit longer and stop being pessimistic.

Paul green becomes a leeds player as of july 1st 2nd signing in 2 days.

Source: all over twitter including a pic of him with a leeds shirt at thorp arch!

Lead to believe that cash injection/takeover still ongoing which is why no transfers for cash have been concluded, things are at a critical/well advanced stage!

LUFC have just confirmed the signing of Paul Green on a free transfer. 29 year old, former #DCFC midfielder from Pontefract.

according to YEP Leeds are going to sign one more player by the end of the week. On a Bosman though which rules out Paddy Kenny/Lee Peltier.

hearing rumours that ken bates has left the building!!??
do you think we'll be dancing in the streets??!!

Believable9 Unbelievable2

If true it should be declared a public holiday!

Agree0 Disagree0

Should be declared christmas, birthday and the new year!

Agree0 Disagree0

As the The Who song goes: "We'll be dancing in the streets with our children at our feet"

However, it also ends with "Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss"

Be wary.

Another free signing expected at ER by the end of the week to be followed by players that would command a fee. First up would be Paddy Kenny at the end of the month as investment talks have progressed positively.

Leeds have signed Adam Drury from Norwich a great signing! Much needed Premiership experience & Norwich City's longest serving player.....well was! :D Keep this type of quality signing going. We need to keep Ross McCormack & Clayton though & definitely not sell them to any Championsip rivals. Heard Huddersfield Town we're after the pair of them.Hopefully some takeover news before the end of Euro 2012! Marching on Together!

Believable6 Unbelievable2

You have to ask why have they let him go now after so long? probably no longer good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think it's more a change in manager who doesn't properly know the player & yeah he's probably not good enough for the Premiership, but should be good enough for the Championship. Experienced player too!

Agree0 Disagree0

takeover of leeds united coming to a conclusion soon - harvey and other members of the board ironing out the fine details as we speak - next will be to draw straws, to decide who tells pappa smurf to f*** off!!

If we are short of volunteers I will do it!

Fawaz Al Hasawi will announce who he has bought tomorrow according to sources on Twitter. Will be either us or Forest.

Believable5 Unbelievable17

Neither, it is a bogus rumour , I have read he does not have the funds to buy an English club.

Agree0 Disagree0

He isn't buying any football club. It was all a publicity stunt to make people know is name and his so called wealth...

he gained more than a thousand new followers on twitter the day his name was brought up the first time and has gained thousands more since. He has had his name mentioned on all the sports news channel and major network channels...

job done Mr. Hasawi

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet its notts forest as no one actually owns them at the moment
George

Agree0 Disagree0

Al Hasawi does not have the money to buy any football club in the top leagues, he is a bogus fraud who wanted publicity and succeded as his name was all over the internet and sports channels.

he will NOT be buying Leeds or Forest

gandalf white

Agree0 Disagree0

But could the bogus bit that he has no funds...we won't know til tomorrow!

Agree0 Disagree0

As said before, what serious business spreads what it's about to do on Twitter. If he does announce anything tomorrow Forest are welcome to him as he's probably a fly-by-night and will be in it for his own publicity and not the teams wellbeing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Y all the negatives how do you know what he as or as not you lot have access to hes back account

Not that I think its him but were you lot cume up with he as no money is beyond me

According to YEP re Leeds takeover-

''The Championship club have refrained from expanding on the statement issued by them on May 29, a statement which confirmed that negotiations had begun “regarding investment for the long-term”, but the YEP has been told that talks are at a “delicate” but advanced stage and edging towards a conclusion.''

Sounds promising!!

Believable11 Unbelievable8

YEP have been told by who
In one sentence they say the club as refrained from commenting further in the next the have been told talks are at a delicate but advanced stage and heading toward a conclusion. So I ask again
Who told them this

Tog

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares who told them at least its a bit of positivity instead of the usual doom and gloom on here.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares well I care I would like to know there's some truth behind it and not just a lode of rubbish made up to sell papers

Clayton has recently tweeted "Wolves at home first game ! Elland Road will be bouncing !" That doesn't sound to me like someone who is going anywhere. And does no one think players like mccormack, clayton and white would have been snapped up by now if they were leaving. I think the fact that no onw has come in for them and that warnock has said we're looking at 4 players that would command a fee says to me the takeover/investment is true. MOT

JackTheWhite

Believable13 Unbelievable9

Clayton tweeted that monday just before he set off for mexico i dont wanbt him to leave but he can leave antime in necx 13 weeks gradle proved that last season

Agree0 Disagree0

Clayton won't be here next season.. Unless he's a mercenary and rots in reserves ?
Warnock has said he isn't part of his plans !

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty certain you can't sell players when a takeover is happening, changes the company assets and possible worth of the company etc. I know thats the case for purchases although not 100% certain it applies to sales too.

Agree0 Disagree0

But the transfer window hasn't even openned yet.

Nick W MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock hasn't said he isnt part of his plans. he said he wanted him to stay, but if he wasn't prepared to sign a contract, then he is still a replaceable player.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nick w course the transfer window has opened how did we sigh pearce are you under the delusions that the winod opens in july 1st no mate thats when the players who ending there contracts are relesed {Ed001's Note - no mate, that's when the international transfer window opens, hence people getting confused. Contracts also end then, to coincide with the opening of the international window.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Post 5 is correct. Warnock said if Adam was with us at start of the season he would be happy. He said he had made Adam a good offer and if he left he would be able to replace him with equal quality for that amount of money so it was up to Adam.

Agree0 Disagree0

Players are banned from tweeting by ken bates remember so this is total rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tweeting ban was lifted after Simon Grayson departed.

Agree0 Disagree0

No they are not. They were banned by Grayson and when he left they were allowed to tweet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jun 2012 00:28:06
warnock is focussing on players whose contracts expire at the end of month, there will no cash going out until any deal is done, it is norm to have a transfer embargo however nw is looking for bargains. ken bates is enjoying the prospect of selling but is in no hurry, if he thinks he can hold out another couple of years for a bigger payout he will

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Bates needs to sell each year leeds is devalued with leedselling our best players and replacing them with players of less ability he sold 3 of our best players last season for a rumoured 7 million he replaced them with 2 players costing a millionand we only showed a 3 million poffit if investment isnt made this season expect mcormac snods and clayton to leave for an estimated 7 million with warnock given 2 million to replace them milky

Agree0 Disagree0

We missed out on swanson could of been a good signing and few others

Agree0 Disagree0

On twitter stating huddersfield after maxi Gradel would love ton see him back at ER unfinished business me thinks. PhilBramley

Believable5 Unbelievable15

Ha ha ha I nearly choked on my corn flakes,Gradel to hudders I want some off watt they are drinking.Top league in France to play in front off 12 thousand week in week out,Or sorry I forgot about when Lufc role in to town 15 thousand one week.can't see it myself. And I will eat my shorts if Mccormak goes there he can't stand Grayson for one thing, And if he did go it would be to a bigger club

Agree0 Disagree0

Udders dont have the cash to pay his wages there has been a rumour for the last 5 month linking him with a move backk to leeds which i would hate gradel was a player activly seeking a move away from leeds his heart wasnt at leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

He was home sick and left Leeds, cant see him returning to England at any point and if he did it wouldnt be for Huddersfield, who will struggle this season as Mr Rhodes scored all their goals and he wont get that many chances in this league

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Jun 2012 22:53:25
I have just heard that Huddersfield have granted a swap plus 1 and a half million pound swap with Jordan Rhodes for Ross McCormack!

Believable8 Unbelievable26

Ross is a proven championship striker... Rhodes isn't. I'd be a bit reluctant to part with McCormack and 1.5 million

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol...

Rhodes will go to premiership for a decent fee. They can buy McCormack with the loose change !

Why would you sell your main player to a rival ?

Agree0 Disagree0

A step down for Rhodes, dont think this one will happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Anywhere new for rhodes would be a step up , but not good enough for leeds yet

Agree0 Disagree0

What are you on , this would be complete and utter madness by huddersfield, rhodes is a premier league quality player, why would he sign for leeds? on 4,000 a week?

Agree0 Disagree0
