Anthony Vanden Borre ? Source: a website app

First thought after reading up, 'oh no...' but then got thinking...he'd find his touch again with Warnock & 25,000 fans backing him up - and besides Neil Warnock knows what he's doing :o)

Reading on a Bahrainen website that there is now 2 offers on table for the ownership of Leeds one by the original investors and one by a American whos wealth totals 250 million and that when the takeover goes through Leeds will be signing Simon church from reading what are everyone's thoughts one this

Believable6 Unbelievable54

I hear an American offer is being considered also.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really feel church isnt a good enough player and his return of 1 goal in 5 games isnt prolific enough for our requirements,i would rather see poleon given more of a run and use gray as a back up myself!

Agree1 Disagree0

Dont believe all you read pal

Agree0 Disagree0

Only worth 250 mill looks like he will be borrowing to buy leeds as most of the 250 mill will be in investments and other things this is a bad idea for leeds to look at that option and simon church really is a bad idea as a striker who only has a strike rate of 1 goal evey 6 games ide stick with poleon and payne as back up

Agree0 Disagree0

If I had a choice of Middle Eastern Investment or from USA. For me it is a no brainer, it would be the middle east. You only have to look at investment in other clubs, Villa, S**M, Liverpool and that bloke at Arsenal. All USA investment, although I don`t think we could compete with Man Citys billions Middle eastern investment seem the much better option.

ive been reading this forum for a long long time and must say that i am as frustrated as most people on here appear to be about the state of the club and the lack of news on the takeover/investment
However i will follow the club til the end of time and i really dont care who owns it or runs it as long as i get the chance to see them play whenever i can get to ER.
Ok we would all like to see Leeds challenging for the premier league and playing in the champions league semi or final again but at this present time it aint gonna happen.
The news regarding the takeover/investment today can only be positive and anybody who has had any involvement in business dealings above buying a pie on match days would accept this as believe it not when you are dealing in mega bucks in can be quite involved and time consuming.
Much as i dislike Bates he is (it appears) in the process of going so let him get on with it and hopefully soon it will be done.
It remains to be seen who will run the club and all we can do is pray that whoever it is has the funds to invest as many would like them to.
Im sure there will be many comments slagging this off and all opinions are valid as this is a forum where people have the right to say their piece.
Lets all see what happens and even if it doesnt work out still support the team because at the end of day isnt that what its all about.

Believable44 Unbelievable9

This spot on and a true fan

Agree0 Disagree0

We will all support leeds till our last breath our protest are not against leeds or its manager its against the chairman who insist on selling players and not reinvisting in th playing side last season we sold max gradel and replaced him with danny pugh what happened to the remaining 3.5 million difference then there was the sale of howson 2 million our replacement a 1 month loan for delph thats 5.5 million dissapeared this season sold 3.5 mill invested 1,.5 million where is the 2 mill difference

Agree0 Disagree0

When will people realise that its ken bates club he owns it so where the money gos is irrelivent its HIS
its a business like any other and while it pains me to say this, its true

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said true fan

as for the reply re change the chairman
support the team you pay the money to watch the team you dont own anything or have a say unless you stump up the money for the club thats the difference between a supporter & an OWNER

Agree0 Disagree0

Never realised that there were so many Bates sycophants amongst the Leeds support - despite the information being out there, people still think that Bates saved us, and hasn't cut the ground from under us by selling decent players whenever he felt he could get away with it. Lets hope the takeover / investment happens because the only way that Bates could continue to operate would be to sell on a regular basis. His business plan simply would/will not work, this is a football club - you get a team then everything else follows. You don't build executive boxes etc., and expect people to fill your coffers when you are crap!!!ETC!

Agree0 Disagree0

We sold max gradel for 1.75 million minus 17.5 % sell on fee to Leicester bought Pugh back for 500.000 cash plus wages mate

We sold Snodgrass and bought 11 players in

Agree0 Disagree0

I despair - how can people still be so blinkered towards the detrimental effect that Bates has had on LUFC.
It's now nearly 8 years since he bought the club. We are in exactly the same position as when he arrived - a mid-table Championship side with around the same level of debt.
(Yes, that's right, he didn't clear the debt of
Leeds, Birch did the bulk of that for him. The debt actually grew with Bates to 30m at the point of admin from c.12m when he took over!)
How that makes him a saviour is beyond me.
Yes, he's the owner and can do as he pleases, it doesn't mean that his actions and strategy is beyond scrutiny and criticism

Agree0 Disagree0

Not saying bates is a decent bloke or anything i know he sells our best players and doesnt replace them but i know that we were 45 mins from going bust (info told by ex finance director)personally wrote out a cheque for 7 mililon)and i also agree that he is asset stripping us but it is his club he owns it so he can do it do i agree with him NO but not a lot we can do until he sells or dies
so just support the team & not him

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no way on earth we were 45 minutes from going under - there were plenty of interested parties at the table in 2005 - it's a provable fact.
Bates came in quickly and stole a march on the others by not doing due diligence - fair enough, his call, and Krasner and Co. were desperate to offload.
Like most, I was prepared to give Bates a chance but he's never shown the slightest inclination to follow through on the targets he set back in 2005 - the priorities, in his words were; promotion back to the Premiership and the re-purchase of Elland Road and Thorp Arch.
He's achieved NONE of his stated aims and took this club to it's lowest ever level.
He's now mortgaged two years of season ticket money for a vanity project on the best stand at the ground. That money spent on the squad would have gone a long way to getting us back in the Premiership and the money to improve the stadium would now be in ready supply.

A section of the statement released by bates today.

"The potential investors are looking to conclude things as soon as possible. Both parties regret missing the August transfer deadline, but we are planning for the January transfer window."

The bit that worries me is bates says WE are planning for the January transfer window.

Believable28 Unbelievable5

Well would you prefer some new board members or for things to remain exactly the same

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it's the WE i'm worried about,that means ken's staying,jesus christ,lol

Agree0 Disagree2

I dislike bates as much as the next man but does it really matter as long as someone is gonna put some much needed money into the squad? I wouldn't complain if within 2 seasons we was back in the prem having invested plenty on the squad and bates still head honcho coz then well defo all get our wish, the fans and players would be where we want to be and bates has a play thing he can then sell for rubbish loads. I might b wrong, if so then someone correct me, but to me it looks win win! Suppose that's the scary thing about it, it sounds to easy for Leeds!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes it does matter, as long as Bates is involved there is going to be money siphoned out of the club that needs to be re-invested. We need him GONE and the new owners, hopefully, realising that maybe 20-30 million pounds invested in new players will take us back into the premier league and then reap rewards for them financially?

Bates seems to think we nutrure players, sell them, and then invest in real estate....?

Agree1 Disagree0

He's selling there buying so together they are looking to do the business. Before january don't. Mean he's staying. On

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates is a decent man n takeover or no takeover i hope he stays as hes had 2 put up with loads of the fans n i just hope he hurts them again as gettin fed up of bates haters. {Ed001's Note - a decent man? I think that has to be the funniest comment I have ever read on these sites! Thank you for that Mrs Bates. A quick bit of research on his time as governor of the British Virgin Islands would soon let you know just how 'decent' a 'man' he is.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Even if Bates stays on (and like the rest of you I hope he doesn't) The investors are, allegedly, an investment bank. They are going to want to see where every penny of their cash is spent. The investors will be looking for a return on their cash and the only way that will happen is by getting us into the premier league, so it looks like we're going to get the investmentwe've been begging for.

Lets do our bit and get behind the club and be the 12th man. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Who wanted to buy Leeds with debts of 100000000 no one stop slagging bates off he saved our club no billionaire wanted us then now were debt free and operating on a profit we could have a bloody banking institution buying investing and a gulf one at that cheer up we have played six team in the top half and some without our first 11 and still only 13 point off playoffs so let's just support the team and see where we end up with investment

Agree0 Disagree0

13 points? dont you mean 3 off the playoffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody will put 20-30 million into a club unless you get something out of it or are super rich (man city, chelsea) and when or if we get into the premier league all the money goes on wages paying avearage players 60 to 100 grand a week so lets hope the investers are leeds fans or the money ken has taken will be peanuts compaired to what a banking instution will want back

Very interesting interview on O/S with Ken, Not speculation, not fairy tales. Not even rumour. but fact! "The ignorant, illiterate minority, that is lU5t and it's followers are just trouble makers, and a pain in the arse" I honestly think he wanted to use stronger language, but good manners and high office stop him. I really felt quite positive after watching interview, that my club is and will continue to be in safe hands.
How can Lu5t say they speak for the real supporter when they've done nowt but try and punt out inaccuracies, lies and more lies. yet it's sheep are quite willing to jump on band wagon and say "Yeah he's (Bates) a crook"! with no proof of any illegal activity. Yet when reasonable people come on and try and challenge their opinion they get told to feck off and love Bates and other infantile invective. I feel really buoyed by KB interview. KB also said that Phil Hay needs to start writing about football and not finance, because he's clueless. Here, here Kenny Boy. Great interview.
Jedburgh White

Believable37 Unbelievable44

Jedburgh white: add a few letters, take a few away, equals ken bates. so thanks ken for your objective insight. not.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for that Ken, now jog on back to Monaco, theres some fools out there that believe your tripe.

Agree0 Disagree0

At last some really positive news which if it turns out as detailed is fantastic for the club yet still the anti bates comments continue, what do people really want, he has clearly got us involved with a suitable and very rich company as they appear to be a bank !!, is that not what everybody has been asking for over the last couple of years yet still some so called fans say there must be something else going on,crikey let the deal conclude and see what happens before moaning even more.

Agree0 Disagree0

How many times Kenny boy?! You have the o/s and yorks radio to purvey your sh1te. Pls leave the rumours site to Leeds fans. Describing fans as illiterate and a pain in the arse, then saying that you were somehow shackled by [your] sense of good manners and professionalism without even the slightest hint of irony. Ken you really are an irredeemble cretin, just sign the papers and fluke off to your tax exile for good.
Your truly from my bottomless pit of hatred,

Fantastic comments, totally agree, 100%

Agree0 Disagree0

Still will still hate Bates what ever happens. God is king, not man.

Agree0 Disagree0

To third reply, you think that being a bank makes them OK look at the mess that banks have caused. No wonder they are involved with a dodgy ******* like masterbates.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jedburgh white , nice to see you've left cloud cuckoo land mate, i joined Lust so did my kids , we're not people cretins dissidents just ordinary folk who care about our club , the excuse of a man who runs our club is a disgrace , and the sooner he slings his hook the better .

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken bates does whats good for ken bates. if he needed to do the i/v it was to keep investors happy. ken will make money from this and if you look at the eeeper money and running of our club ken has done it for ken nothing else. Ease read his hostory and past dealings. look i to how leeds is being run. look at all the firms attached to leeds. ken has done thisfor ken no other reason

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates probably right with the person jibe. The anti Bates posters have trouble in stringing a coherent sentence together on here

Agree0 Disagree0

Who are you kidding, I've had first hand commercial experience, the bloke is one of the most unpleasant creatures walking. You are clearly the sheep, believing the bull**it he puts out. He has never done anything apart from look after his pockets with no conscience or class. Leeds would be better off and better respected in the world of football and business without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ken or jedburgh, whichever ! Believe all this when its signed on the dotted line.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haveing lisand to the interview I would say its Bates that as trubel string two word together let alone a full sentence

Agree0 Disagree0

People like you are the reason bates is still here well done .
I bet you celebrated when we sold beckford ,howson ,gradel and snodgrass.

Bates hates Leeds end of............

Agree0 Disagree0

The Police were not corrupt, and then the truth about Hillsborough came out. Politicians were the pillar of our society, and then the expenses scandal raised its head. Gary Barlow had the respect of the nation, and then the Prime Minister revealed he was avoiding taxes. And we have Mr Kenneth Bates, not corrupt, pillar of our society and respected throughout the business world. Make your own mind up, smell the coffee, wake up and live in the real world people - CTLUFC

Agree0 Disagree0

Just want to add my two penneth for all the constant negative and anti Bates comments above.
Of course the decisions he makes are ultimately for his own financial gain, he is a business man, but unless he makes Leeds successful and desirable, nobody wins, so it is in his interest for us to succeed, but not at any cost
Also, all then LUST lemmings, don't forget that until Bates came along, we were looking at folding, nobody else wanted 120m debt to deal with.
Just wake up and support the club and quit moaning
Rob MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

I openly admit that I thought we owed Bates some gratittude and still do, for what happened in the past, most people would admit he kept the club alive.

However, there is no point in keeping something alive just to rip the ar$e out of it, and siphon as much as you can without putting something back?

I hate LUST and what they purport to be, I have been a Leeds supporter for well over 40 years now and they certainly DON'T represent me or my views!

When (not if) this takeover happens, as it surely will, hopefully someone WILL invest the money we need into the team and get us back where we should be, hopefully after that the rest will be history....

As a member of LUST myself, it doesn't mean I agree with everything they do and say. What I do want is what LUST stand for, change for our club in terms of communication, investment and success as should every supporter of LUFC. Ken calls all of us illiterate, persons, people etc. and he is entitled to his view, but what a way to interact with his customers. Reminds me of the boss of a famous jewellers who admitted that what he was selling was rubbish. We have gone from the sublime (Ridsdale) to the ridiculous (Bates). let's wait to see how this investment or takeover is set out first b4 we all get too excited,if bates remains involved we leeds then i see it as a bad deal for us, while bates anywhere near our club it's bad for us,and i see in his statement that he is slagging some of our fellow fans off, this is why ken must be ejected from our beloved club for good, cos the bates out chants will never go away,BATES OUT,

Believable21 Unbelievable21

Continually negativity from Leeds fans yet again. we just had a statement saying we are at an advance stage and what's more a cracking result lets concentrate on that

Agree3 Disagree0

Short memory remember no one else can forward to buy us after ridsdale spending

Agree1 Disagree0

The fans that chant " bates out" are just pathetic negative ppl, n they bring more shame on leeds than anyone else.

Agree1 Disagree0

About time these so called leeds fans who are constantly calling for bates out to get behind the club and the players cos if i was a leeds player at the moment all that bates out crap would affect my game. I believe most of the doom and gloom merchants dont even go to the games anyway! MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

FFS What a ridiculous statement! You're still going to be abusing KB even if he brings in the investment that gets us into the Prem? As for KB being 'ejected' from the club, how's that going to happen, he f**king owns the club!

Sadly there is a small contingent of fans for whom hatred of Bates is more important than supporting LUFC. Get your priorities straight

Agree1 Disagree0

Id like to see Bates stay and run the club with a massive injection of funds. I think he does his best work with other peoples money. Id have thought Bates hard faced attitude would be appreciated in Yorkshire. Maybe theres too many soft kids in West Yorkshire now?

Fawksey

Agree0 Disagree0

Negative, lol you lot make me laugh, you believe anything that bates tell's you he has robbed us our better players for years he has constantly lied to ALL of the fanbase over the years, charging higher ticket prices than most with the promise that it would be invested in the squad, put us into admin took us down to lge 1 not invested in the team, called us morons tried to con us ,saying the fans are scaring investers away, not to mention all the money that has gone bye bye with no explanation, spent money on his court cases that was his fault to start with cos he couldn't keep his mouth shut, forced players out that didn't want to go, like howson,so i'm not being negative i'm just being cautious,if bates stays within our great club i just wonder what he will cook up next, cos surely we ALL know by now that he doesn't give a dam about the fans or OUR club,so this is my reason for wanting him out,and i for one will only be happy when we are free from this current owner, and then hopefully move forward, hopefully soon onto the prem where we belong, btw,i am the original poster, mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Get bates out to **** parisite

Agree0 Disagree0

Without bates we would not even b a club but u seem 2 forget that. u just want instant return to the prem which is so unrealistic n he runs a bussiness not a bussiness where u buy anyone n sod what they cost. some leeds fans need 2 get realistic, we were once big but now we r only big in the champ n we dnt deserve 2 b in prem.

Agree0 Disagree0

We would NOT be a club, lol now you've lost it, if you remember there was other bids on the table, better then bates bid, but he sruck a deal with the administrators, telll me this where is the delph money that was going to buy TA?,you read back to what he said, then come back to me,lol i don't expect an instant return to the prem, but i do expect us to move on which we will not do under bates he will not invest, and if he stays on if or when the takeover or investment happens then i would want to know why such people are willing to co own with bates [if thats what happens] alot of us are fed up with the lies that he has told us over the last 7-8 years, how anyone believes a word that comes out of his mouth is beyond me,lol

Just look at the so called organised protest before the Hull game on U Tube. Not 8,000 members was it, more like 200 maximum. Still the protest obviously didn't help the team as oh yeah that's right we lost to HULL after going ahead in the first 10 minutes. LUST keep quiet for the next two weeks if nothing happens by then, then carry on regardless, hopefully it won't affect the team like you losers did last year!!

Check out the investment update on the OS everyone! Sounds relatively positive to me without getting too excited.
It states 'investment' and not 'takeover' but talks are at an advanced stage and they're planning for the January transfer window.
I badly hope this is concluded sooner rather than later (longest takeover/investment talks ever lol).

In the meantime, every single LUFC fan needs to get behind the team, no matter who is playing, 100%. We can't effect what's happening off the pitch, but we damn sure can effect what happens on it! Our support is legendary and it needs to stay that way. 12th man! - JamesC

Believable32 Unbelievable2

Positive! Im letting myself get excited now, looks like it'll be done early next week. I thought warnocks comments about signing players on 93 day loans was interesting. He said signing them from the 27th meant they could be then signed in the January transfer window pernamently, or words to that effect. Could be a busy week!

with the alleged impending takeover /investment happening warnock has signalled out readings simon church has his next signing if this is the dizzy hights at the calibre of player neil is looking aT i am quickly losing my trust in him church has a recors of 1 goal every 6 games this strike rate will not get us promotion i like warnock i really do but he is looking at some garbage while sending players away from leeds without giving them a chance for instance clayton was probably our standout midfielder last season he sold him for 400k he signed 3 players to replace him green norris and now tongue(rather play brown than tongue) reg varney oops luke looked good pre season against non league teams he lets rogers go out on loand who in the few pre season games he had looked far better than varney nunez the copa america mvp warnocks stated even if he wasnt injured he wouldnt play him simon church is not the man for leeds

Believable14 Unbelievable10

Its nice to see the poster and I share the same views. I have to be honest with you, there is always a few dodgy signing in Warnock. But why rogers went and Brown stayed i will never know. In all the leeds games i have watched i have never once said, that michael brown had a good game. TERRIBLE IN VERY GAME! Likewise for varney.

Agree0 Disagree0

Talk about doom and gloom! It's a rumour he's not signed him u know! He's having to look at garbage coz that's where we are at the moment. Do u really think warnock is enjoying scouting the bottom of the barrel market? Wait till the takeover gets sorted then see who he goes for think some folk should give the guy some time and patience due to his record of promotions with plenty of clubs. Player for player against every team in this league we would be bottom 3 by now but he scrapes what little he can out of what he's got! Do agree with varney tho

Agree0 Disagree0

And do yoyu really think it helps by calling players garbage before they sign for us , and say we are scraping the bottom of the barrel, f*****g persons, i'd trust warnocks judgement over you muppets every time

Agree0 Disagree0

Ime the op simon church a striker with a lowly score rate isnt going to get us the goals for promotion simple as i would rather not sign another striker and rotate payne and poleon warnock has a way of alenating players he dont like he did it with ephrime at qpr and nunez
