Well I hope this is true what I'm hearing. Ross signed new deal with leeds (it's like a 4th player signing if u ask me) well done GFH on making that happen because he will make things happen at this club! M.O.T

Believable41 Unbelievable8

4th player? we've signed 4 players (Hunt, Smith, Wooton, and Murphy).

Agree0 Disagree0

Already signed 4 players
Hunt
Smith
Murphy
Wooton
?

Agree0 Disagree2

His house for sale sign has gone too

Agree0 Disagree0

Aww that is the nicest most modest rumour I have read on here thank you x

Agree2 Disagree0

You mean 5th? but yeah I agree great news! MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

It's good news but wouldn't class as a new signing, he had 3yrs left anyway do what's it going to add one more year maybe then hypothetically IF Celtic come in with 4 mil does that mean it doesn't get accepted. Contracts mean nothing nowadays BUT don't get me wrong here it is good news and I'm pleased for him and the club

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross is good player, but let not get too hung up on him, can be hit and miss.
If we got offered 2mil I would sell.

Agree0 Disagree2

Ross signing a new deal is not like a new signing. The player had 2 years left to run on his current deal and it frankly appears that what Ross has been saying publicly is a million miles from what his agent has been saying privately. The clubs line should have been that the player was not for sale at any price under £4m, and that he is expected to see out the remainder of his contract.

It's a disgrace that we're upping the salary of a striker who scored 5 goals last year.

Agree0 Disagree0

He banged the winner in today though didn't he.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes he did, though players "bang in the winner" for clubs up and down the country each week. Doesn't mean they all deserve a new contract on more money.

Agree0 Disagree0

So you'd rather he go?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah your right, teams do have players that bang the winners in each week but if Ross did go to the smoggies who could you realistically see doing it in his absence? He's our best player by a country mile. Not saying no ones replaceable, because they are! But would the cash be spent on a replacement? Probably not is what i'm thinking.

Leeds ar NOT after Chesterfields Tommy Lee. They have put a bid in for one of their players though. Tendayi Darikwa. Believed to be around 400,000. Attacking right midfielder, can also play as a right sided attacker.

Three names going around:
Vaz Te
Billy Sharp
& Gary mackay-stephen
all quality but McCormack would have to go first. MccDermott also said he thinks we could do with a winger or two so Vaz Te and Mackay-Stephen would give us width and Sharp up front

Believable19 Unbelievable40

Selling ross wouldn't be worth it thanks. ross is better than all these 3

Agree2 Disagree1

Agreed, I prefer ross all day over these boys!

Agree2 Disagree1

Don't agree guys, I wouLd take those three every day of the week, there all quality in championship. Doug can do what mc Cormack does, better still.keep Ross get rid of Douf and get all three!

Sell brown not diouf because diouf can get other team opponents mad so they can get cards and we can get they advantage buy someone decent maybe Ahmed musa or a player that has pace, can cross and shoot as well as helping our defence

rumours all over twitter that ross is in talks with Middlesborough after talks with leeds broke down we offered him 15k a week and Middlesborough offered him 20 if that's true he can go for me I think he is a really important player for us but if he would rather go to a team that has no history and not much else for a extra 5k a week then bye bye

Believable8 Unbelievable53

It's b*******. Ross tweeted last night he's looking forward to the trip to Ipswich today.

Agree4 Disagree0

This is utter tosh! Nobody would know anything about our discussions with Ross about money etc. How could Boro offer him 20k per week when a fee hasn't been agreed between the clubs and they don't have permission to talk to him. You can tell it's silly season. MOT Ron

Agree3 Disagree0

Despite all this being total bs. If some body offered you 5k a week on top of your wage would you stay or go.

Agree2 Disagree0

Simmer down lads, this lad who started it has supposedly never got it wrong he has this time and many times be4 I bet. As for Billy Sharpe I bet we have just inquired in case things broke down. And was it me or did Brian seem a lot more up beat in press con yesterday? Investment maybe

Agree0 Disagree0

If someone offered you an extra 5K a week. i'm pretty sure you would bite their arm off. He will go.

Agree1 Disagree1

Ross deserves to be our top earner by along way. best player we have by miles not selling him obviously

Agree0 Disagree0

Boro no history? When did yous last win a cup or get into a european final?

Agree1 Disagree0

I would rather play in a nice half empty stadium than a dump called Elland Road

Agree1 Disagree2

Sorry but let's face it roscoe isn't our best player last season he was our 3rd even a player who left got more votes for player of season byram our best player by far and thi year kenny

So you would turn down 20k a month more for doing same job, course you would. I know I wouldnt

24 Aug 2013 20:06:33
whats that boro fans talking about - when was the last time we were in a European final whem were Boro last in Europe

Agree0 Disagree0

How can anyone mention boro in the same breath as the mighty whites. and Ross is going nowhere, its all bs

Agree0 Disagree0

Simples, Leeds have been out of the Prem longer than the Boro, were last in Europe longer than the Boro. Boro have a better Stadium, a Better Chairman and we know who owns the club. The real rankle is our town is a LOT smaller than your City and you cannot shake clear of us. To think you once compared yourselves to the real United lol

Leeds WON'T sign Billy Sharp. Brian McDermott is targeting a wide player before the deadline & made that his priority.

Just been talking to guy who goes to the same gym as me. He's a Palace fan, he's studying up here & I speak to him at the gym & talk football etc. Apparently there's talk that Leeds are about to take Yannick Bolasie from them before the deadline. Personally, I'd be very surprised if this happens as I can't see them letting him go cheeply - I can't see us being able to afford him at all - especially with the wage bill & the 1 in-1 out policy coupled with Ross being offered a new deal. But according to the Palace fan he's out of favour, Holloway has other targets & Bolasie wasn't even named in the squad for the Spurs game. Has anyone heard this? or know about his contract situation? I'd be amazed if this happens - surely another Prem team would be interested. How could we afford him? Any truth in this Ed? {Ed013's Note - This has been floating around, but no confirmed reports}

Believable13 Unbelievable13

If it doesn't come of mate you need to accidentley drop a dunbell on his toe . Mot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha, to be fair to him, he didn't say it was definitely happening. He just said it was the talk going round & rumour among Palace fans that Bolasie wasn't in Holloway's plans & was open to offers with as Holloway as other targets & Leeds had shown an interest. I just posted to see if anyone else had heard anything. Apparently ED has heard whisperings but nothing concrete.

Billy Sharp set to sign today. Vaz Te deal isn't happening.

Believable15 Unbelievable23

Billy sharpe will not come he hates leeds {Ed013's Note - So did Neil Warnock! Billy Sharp is a professional and knows how big a club Leeds is and if a chance came I am sure he would take it. Unfortunately with Brian's 5 strikers I can only see a winger coming in}

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi such a pity Billy was injured and could not make even the Leeds bench on saturday, wise up.

Expect a huge signing before the ips game tommorow. leeds are currently odds on favourites to sign billy sharp. And david haigh was not at the fans meeting last night to finalise deal The major part came fromt certain on line source. Ross also set to sign new contract. #MOT

Believable20 Unbelievable29

Would be nice to get a huge signing comeing in, it's been awhile since we had one of those!

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy Sharp a huge signing? I don't think so.

Agree1 Disagree1

Comment 1 . would you like to enlighten the rest of us what you believe to be "a huge signing"?

I take it that you want to see someone who is a well known name from your dream list, who demands a "huge" transfer fee and a "huge" salary.

I would prefer to see BMcD continue to invest in the future by signing talented young players for the long term, ala Scott Wootton and Luke Murphy.

And finally, the last time we went down the route of "huge" signings we almost went out of existence.

JDC

Agree2 Disagree2

Huge signing?>oh no don't tell me Brolin is coming back!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you are meaning me JDC, MY comment was tongue in cheek!

Agree0 Disagree0

David Haigh probably sidestepped the meeting so that he did not get all the questions around the one-in-one out policy which shows that as a club we are no further forward than this time last year. However, saying that the signing of Wootton is a great step forward and I really do not think that we need to be bringing many more new faces in; just get the best out of the ones we have and we will not be far off the play off places.
