Ben Jacobs, editor of Sports Talk, says Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, a member of the Bahraini royal family, is leading a takeover of Leeds United which should be completed within a fortnight

The interview is crap , all he does is talk about articles we have already seen , he just puts them in order. Also he reckons leeds are in Debt which is not true. Just because somebody repeats what we have already heard over the radio doesnt mean they know more than we do.

Listening to this it was a bit disconcerting to hear this Ben Jacobs guy suggest that he wasn't sure the new Bahraini owners actually wanted NW in charge......that cant be right. NW has said he has had assurances, and could have left if he felt his position was under threat. Even more worryingly, he was suggesting that Sven was being considered along with former Eng U21 Manager Peter Taylor, who used to manage in Bahrain. No thanks, lets keep NW!

Well I've listened also, I agree with the other posters on here, I'm not sure this Jacobs guy actually knows a great deal. He seemed to believe we were still in debt from the Ridsdale era. I think if the Bahrain Sheik is a Leeds fan, he would see that Warnock is the right man for the current job in hand. I think Warnocks reputation amongst Middle East club owners is high after his efforts with QPR. Having listened to Warnock last week on Talk Sport he intimated that he had been given assurances, and someone is clearly backing him in the market!!

I think 90% of that was bulls*** from the Journo' wanting UK exposure - poor research and his knowledge of Leeds United's history was 'revisionist' and very poor.
The manager speculation was out of the blue and its unsettling for us and for Neil - so for now Im ignoring that as trouble causing speculation and staying 100% positive about Warnock and Leeds new squad
Neil will do whats best for Neil and Leeds and will do the job he signed up for - yet if that changes and hes asked to trial and play 3 Bahrain players who he doesnt rate etc etc - then we have problems - allegedly this is happening at Forest with saudis and saudi players but our nrw owner is a 100% Fan like us and so will want whats best for Leeds and that is NEIL WARNOCK ! ...MOT - posted by manno 46 yrs a leeds fan

This guy is in the UK at the moment, but we need to be careful what we wish for as he has some allegations of human rights issues within Bahrain against people standing up for a pro democracy country. If you thought Bates was a dictator we may not have seen anything yet!

Can we just have patience and wait and see instead of all this continual speculation?

Whatever happens, we have new players in and no loyal player leaving, it's got to be better than laxt season?

Ben Jacobs, knows nothing about Leeds United, it's obvious in his interview, in fact he sounded completely out of touch. Bates selling club and breaking even! is he for real.

Not even a rumour really but don't post very often and thought I'd get my opinion out there. I think as long as we get 1 of the rb's we've been linked with. Personally think halford is the likely choice. Then all we need is another decent cb, ideally a massive, strong, intimidating looking type cb and a decent fast striker. Recon nicky Maynard could be a good shout because west ham hardly played him last year so can't see him getting much of a look in this year. Cost a bit though.

Finally I think ashdown is a quality second choice keeper, think he's better than half the first choice keepers in the championship this year.

Really not sure if Maynard is the right player for us, for the money he would cost. Never really adjusted to being at a big, high-profile, promotion-pushing club after Xmas. Also not the most imposing physically -struggled to impose himself on the game for West Ham at Elland Road: not sure he would suit the physical, high-tempo game NW seems to favour. On that basis, I would favour the more powerful, more explosive MacKail-Smith -I can see why NW is apparently very interested in the latter. On your other point, I would be very happy with Halford (not convinced about Peltier). Chapel A

I think we're still lacking that creative spark in midfield. Austin can cover the first choice centre backs, which if terms are agreed looks set to be Pearce and Crainie. fast striker (Beckford), right back (Halford) and a midfielder like Buszaky will see us good.

We are not forced to get him, but we have a better chance that Huddersfield in my eyes.

Leicester City will accept both bids and the player will want to go to the club with the best chance of promotion (as I can see it Leeds)...

Also it is not forced to be £600K it could be around £550K - £650K

Really dont understand why everone is complaining, first of all we've signed 4 players in 1 day! NW has come ou and said that he wants to make four more signings, and these signings he said will be crucial players! In warnock we trust!

I have a source that says now court case is over the takeover will be annouced in the next 48 hours also to forget jermain beckford we have a much bigger name than that to fill our strike force up .

Many of us had already consigned Jermaine Beckford to the "recycle bin" but it appears he still has a few supporters out there ... perhaps they can go to watch him in Leicester reserves and let the rest of us move on and stop craving to bring back ex players ... Beckford and Delph.

Hang on one minute...agree about the need to bring back ex players...smith beckford etc...but leave delph alone. he was brilliant in a leeds shirt and has been unlucky with injuries...unlike our other ex players could still have best years ahead and hasnt failed at other clubs just been unlucky...think delph had potential to be next gerrard lets hope he comes back home and lives up to my high hopes...the rest can go we dont want them back imo...MOT good to see warnock making good sigings and being backed by someone, other than varney really pleased but if NW wants varney that is good enough for me

Leeds should keep Snodgrass. He has a year left on his contract. We didn't pay a great amount for him and if he wants to play premier league football then if we get promoted he may stay or he can go to someone else.

Don't think its worth losing out on a few mil again so sell snoddy and bring in 2 decent players

Snoddy ... sign contract extension PLEASE and tell him we'll try to improve it even more once the takeover is completed. Neil, if he won't, flog him and spend the money on bringing in someone else of the same quality who wants to play for Leeds United.

I wish all the Beckford dreamers would give it a rest....what has he done over the last couple of seasons....Nothing!! {Ed020's Note - 10 goals in the premiership when only started a fraction of the games and scored a blinder against chelsea when he took it past everyone from his own box into chelseas net, he's banged in goals for leicester too, i'd have him back in a heartbeat, not sure who saw him at leedsv leicester last season, but he loves leeds utd. and he'd take us up with his goals.}

Still not convinced he would bang in 30+ for us to take us up..

Sorry Ed ... he loved Leeds United that much that he wanted to go around Christmas in his final year, disrupted the dressing room and ran down his contract rather than sign an extension so that any interested parties would have to pay a fee for him. That was not in the best interests of Leeds United. Leave him in the "recycle bin". That apart, I can't see him being the type of player who would fit into Neil Warnock's plans ... however, I could be wrong.

He may have done whatever, but the FACT still remains he walked out on Leeds without us getting a penny from the transaction, for personal GAIN?

I don't want to see that sort of person in a Leeds shirt... ever!

I know this crap gets posted every single day but it's all over other forums that the players were all told yesterday that the takeover will be announced tomorrow (Weds). 4 signings in one day, more 'significant' signings according to NW to come... would this ever happen under Bates' regime?.. I doubt it.

Don't shoot the messenger lads, it's just what's out there and it seems to be gaining some credence.

Not so much a rumour but just wondered what peoples thoughts are on Rogers? Never really got going last season but not much had been said about him, hopefully he can be a surprise package for us this season.

He was good against Farsley, I know its only Farsley but he showed he was a talented player, he seems to have a footballers brain too! Unexpected for a yank!

I'm thinking he must have something about him otherwise NW would have transfer listed him along with the sub standard tosh that have already been listed, he will hopefully be like a new signing for us as didn't get much action last season due to injury. MOT SussexLeeds

From when he joined I was hoping he could be a desent player, he has pace and is good with the ball at his feet. 2 goals in 2 games so looking like he is getting involved in Pre season, personally i think rogers is more rounded than White wand is naterally a forward player which if White works on along with his blistering pace could be good but not there yet. I'd like to think Rogers can push for a spot on the wing and can give us some options. But thats what you want from a squad options going foward so if the chances arnt coming bring on some fresh legs.

Not sure. Reserve judgement, but remain a touch sceptical about the likelihood of Rogers making a sustained impact. Recent experience -Grella, Nunez, Somma- suggests that players from North America are, due to the uncompetitive nature of their leagues, simply not battle-honed to the same degree as their Anglo-Saxon counterparts. It's a bit of an issue for any team taking a punt on any players from NA below the top echelon of those who have played a lot of international football at a young age, or left very early -probably as teens- to play in Europe. Obviously hoping I'm going to be pleasantly surprised though. Chapel A

Very poor player who struggled in the SPL. He is one of the poorest players I have seen, even worse than O'Dea.

Knowing someone's name, and being vaguely aware that they are blessed with a good level of basic skill, and a few tricks, really isn't enough. I live in Aust - I can almost guarantee that he wouldn't cut it in the Championship. The level of football in the A-League is probably slightly better than League 2.

Mcgugan wont fit in to what we have but is a decent player. if we are looking for a striker why not dave kitson he is not at all bad and looks like portsmouth are closing any way
