Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

My mate is a member of the Darlo Whites supporters club. He just told me a member of the Essex Whites branch has informed him that the 'New Owners' have met the players today. His source knows this because some of the Essex Whites branch are staying in same hotel as the players. If this is true then the proposed takeover is either complete or very, very close.

Exciting times ahead.

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Its not true complete rumours don't get too excited people sayng the takeover must of been done? why cos we got andy gray, ashdown etc spent like 1.6 mill on 8 players wow we sold kasper, howson, gradel etc coming to like 8 mill if you include players like killgallon from 6 years ago still under bates its bates spending the money we should have 10 mill to spend on players don't get excited

Agree0 Disagree0

Kalifa is in the UK for the opening ceremony of the Olympics, his farther is in France , so this could be possible. source Gulf daily news

Agree0 Disagree0

Bates spent (or placed in his personal bank) all that money from the transfers of them players. and 1.6 mil is pretty good for leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, this was evidently b******* as Snoddy is leaving and Warnock confirms that club is still in due dilligence and he 'did not have much more to say' to persuade Snoddy to say, unless the new owners' masterplan involves selling Snodgrass, which it won't, no one met with the players in any hotel

Agree0 Disagree0

If 1.6 milloin is good for leeds it just showes how loww we have sunk

its time for a change and i do hope there is somone that can take us to the next level

Am I missing something here as I cannot find any other reports saying we made an offer for Nicky Maynard although I hope its true! If we did make a cheeky offer this surely clarifies that some investment has already been made to the club from the potential new owners as I wouldn't of thought Maynard would be leaving for anything short of £3/4milly?

Scot MOT!

Believable4 Unbelievable9

It rumours they arent always printed, some come from agents trying to sell players, some come from the players themself but most are just guess work by the faithful!

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Made 1 mill offer which was rejected, so the money is there to spend

Agree0 Disagree0

No your not mate.

People are just speculating, there are no reports on it at all.

Agree0 Disagree0

You are totally missing the point that this is a rumours site maybe??

Agree0 Disagree0

1m Or so they say.

Agree0 Disagree0

The rumour was started by a west ham supporter who runs a site which tries to wind up Leeds fans for some reason as he never says anything about his own team

Agree0 Disagree0

Well i heard it on talksport with alan brazil on monday morning....he said west ham had rejected the offer.

Roblufc84

Agree0 Disagree0

Moose from talksport who is a west ham fan and has connections in side the club reported on this on monday leeds made a 1 mil bid which was rejected

Agree0 Disagree0

Transfer fund could be coming from the sale of Snodgrass and McCormack

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock has said there was no bid made but hasn't ruled out making a bid in the future.

Ben Jacobs, editor of Sports Talk, says Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa, a member of the Bahraini royal family, is leading a takeover of Leeds United which should be completed within a fortnight

listen to this interview, it sounds like this guy might be our new owner

Believable10 Unbelievable5

The interview is crap , all he does is talk about articles we have already seen , he just puts them in order. Also he reckons leeds are in Debt which is not true. Just because somebody repeats what we have already heard over the radio doesnt mean they know more than we do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Listening to this it was a bit disconcerting to hear this Ben Jacobs guy suggest that he wasn't sure the new Bahraini owners actually wanted NW in charge......that cant be right. NW has said he has had assurances, and could have left if he felt his position was under threat. Even more worryingly, he was suggesting that Sven was being considered along with former Eng U21 Manager Peter Taylor, who used to manage in Bahrain. No thanks, lets keep NW!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I've listened also, I agree with the other posters on here, I'm not sure this Jacobs guy actually knows a great deal. He seemed to believe we were still in debt from the Ridsdale era. I think if the Bahrain Sheik is a Leeds fan, he would see that Warnock is the right man for the current job in hand. I think Warnocks reputation amongst Middle East club owners is high after his efforts with QPR. Having listened to Warnock last week on Talk Sport he intimated that he had been given assurances, and someone is clearly backing him in the market!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Jacobs knows as much as i do on the new owners wishes....ie NOTHING

Agree0 Disagree0

I think 90% of that was bulls*** from the Journo' wanting UK exposure - poor research and his knowledge of Leeds United's history was 'revisionist' and very poor.
The manager speculation was out of the blue and its unsettling for us and for Neil - so for now Im ignoring that as trouble causing speculation and staying 100% positive about Warnock and Leeds new squad
Neil will do whats best for Neil and Leeds and will do the job he signed up for - yet if that changes and hes asked to trial and play 3 Bahrain players who he doesnt rate etc etc - then we have problems - allegedly this is happening at Forest with saudis and saudi players but our nrw owner is a 100% Fan like us and so will want whats best for Leeds and that is NEIL WARNOCK ! ...MOT - posted by manno 46 yrs a leeds fan

Agree0 Disagree0

Wait and have faith....NW will still be here i would put my mortgage on it, if NW goes so will all his signings!

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is in the UK at the moment, but we need to be careful what we wish for as he has some allegations of human rights issues within Bahrain against people standing up for a pro democracy country. If you thought Bates was a dictator we may not have seen anything yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Can we just have patience and wait and see instead of all this continual speculation?

Whatever happens, we have new players in and no loyal player leaving, it's got to be better than laxt season?

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Jacobs, knows nothing about Leeds United, it's obvious in his interview, in fact he sounded completely out of touch. Bates selling club and breaking even! is he for real.

Not even a rumour really but don't post very often and thought I'd get my opinion out there. I think as long as we get 1 of the rb's we've been linked with. Personally think halford is the likely choice. Then all we need is another decent cb, ideally a massive, strong, intimidating looking type cb and a decent fast striker. Recon nicky Maynard could be a good shout because west ham hardly played him last year so can't see him getting much of a look in this year. Cost a bit though.

Finally I think ashdown is a quality second choice keeper, think he's better than half the first choice keepers in the championship this year.

Things are looking good MOT

Believable6 Unbelievable5

Really not sure if Maynard is the right player for us, for the money he would cost. Never really adjusted to being at a big, high-profile, promotion-pushing club after Xmas. Also not the most imposing physically -struggled to impose himself on the game for West Ham at Elland Road: not sure he would suit the physical, high-tempo game NW seems to favour. On that basis, I would favour the more powerful, more explosive MacKail-Smith -I can see why NW is apparently very interested in the latter. On your other point, I would be very happy with Halford (not convinced about Peltier). Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we're still lacking that creative spark in midfield. Austin can cover the first choice centre backs, which if terms are agreed looks set to be Pearce and Crainie. fast striker (Beckford), right back (Halford) and a midfielder like Buszaky will see us good.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dead right mate. The excitement's really building now!

The activity on this page shows the potential of this club, we are among the biggest in the country no doubt about that. Now it is up to the new owners, the manager and the players to take us up were we belong. The fans are going to back you all along the long and winding road......

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Dont get to excited about new owners they will not be spending big

Agree0 Disagree0

I just got 10/1 on Leeds to win the championship :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Well, it seems to me that Neil Warnock is doing more than his bit, so in my book, it's up to players and the fans to do theirs and make sure Neil Warnock never regrets the move he made when he came to Leeds United.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am actually looking for someone to take a serious bet on Leeds winning the premiership within 2 years.....

.... got 30-1 last time we were up for it under Wilkinson (although it was still the 1st division then)

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you not think Leeds, like other clubs with 'imported money' are beginning to make a mockery of both the game of football and the league

this link confirms that we have made an offical 600k bid for peltier.

LJHS

Believable10 Unbelievable3

All I want to see is an official posting saying he's signed, full stop...?

Agree0 Disagree0

We are not forced to get him, but we have a better chance that Huddersfield in my eyes.

Leicester City will accept both bids and the player will want to go to the club with the best chance of promotion (as I can see it Leeds)...

Also it is not forced to be 600K it could be around 550K - 650K

regarding Rodolph Austin, watch the
clip below , this is the sort of defensive midfielder we need, he even has MOT on his shirt

The "MOT" on Austin`s shirt is something every club in Norway got on their shirts. It mean that everyone is against racism.

On OS, Leeds have won their court case against West Yrokshire Police, Mr Justice Eady decided in Leeds favour that they have been over paying for last three seasons ! A little cash back, as this is finalised cant be holding up due diligence

Believable5 Unbelievable2

I thought that, but does it say in the article that WY Police will back pay LUFC for the money they have already taken ? Surely there must be some sort of compensation for it.

DW

Agree0 Disagree0

I recon this is around 500K for the 3 years although i think it wont be paid back in one go, but the next 3 years policing discounted, so no mad rush by NW to spend it!

Agree0 Disagree0

No it 2.8 million but some of thats for the police inside the ground

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure about this one. On one hand the club will be paying out less but the police budget is public money anyway so will it be passed on to us locals in council tax. Will visitors cars be more at risk which will put up insurance premiums in the area if there is a sudden spike in vehicl crime. With the amount of money floating about in football these days especially in the premiership, where we all hope to be soon are the figures we are looking at for policing lufc that high and should the wider public be paying for it, just a thought

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2012 12:59:27
I have a source that says now court case is over the takeover will be annouced in the next 48 hours also to forget jermain beckford we have a much bigger name than that to fill our strike force up .

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Many of us had already consigned Jermaine Beckford to the "recycle bin" but it appears he still has a few supporters out there ... perhaps they can go to watch him in Leicester reserves and let the rest of us move on and stop craving to bring back ex players ... Beckford and Delph.
JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully this means we can get the last three years 'excess' payments back, that must amount to some serious money in itsef?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hang on one minute...agree about the need to bring back ex players...smith beckford etc...but leave delph alone. he was brilliant in a leeds shirt and has been unlucky with injuries...unlike our other ex players could still have best years ahead and hasnt failed at other clubs just been unlucky...think delph had potential to be next gerrard lets hope he comes back home and lives up to my high hopes...the rest can go we dont want them back imo...MOT good to see warnock making good sigings and being backed by someone, other than varney really pleased but if NW wants varney that is good enough for me

Agree0 Disagree0

24 Jul 2012 12:54:56
Who would you rather have as captain if Snodgrass does decide to leave (not saying he will)
I personally think we should hand it to Austin, could turn out to be influential in our team like Taarabt was for QPR. I can't really see anyone else who could take the armband. What do you think Ed?

L3EDS {Ed020's Note - if not austin, drury or pearce, both of whom are very commanding int here roles and are not shy about shouting orders out.}

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Personally I think Becchio deserves it

Agree0 Disagree0

Pearce 100%, think Warnock will give it to browny though.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give it brown? You nutter he'll be warming the bench for most of the season, Pearce Austin or dury all the way.snody is a duff captain he only got role to keep at club

Sy BsE Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe Pearce will be Warnock's choice. he was signed partly for his leadership qualities.

Agree0 Disagree0

I personaly think kenny will get it he got experiance and can shout out the orders from the back

Agree0 Disagree0

Giving it to Austin would undermime the experienced players who have been at the club for longer. I Agree Becchio should have it, hard working and leads by example and you never hear of him commanding a move to the prem. He's Leeds through and through, we all Luv Leeds we all Luv Becchio!

NickW MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

He's going to give it to someone who starts most weeks. that definately wont be brown.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jason pearce !

jdc

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with ED, Pearce would be a very good captain, plenty of mouth at the back especially.

Foxrat

Agree0 Disagree0

I would think that either Pearce or Austin deserve captaincy. Although I'd give it to Pearce, he seems to just dominate the structure of defence.

-WhiteForLife

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do you all keep doing this?

Snoddy isn't leaving, have faith in the guy rather than keep kicking him?

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree0

What about kenny?

Leeds should keep Snodgrass. He has a year left on his contract. We didn't pay a great amount for him and if he wants to play premier league football then if we get promoted he may stay or he can go to someone else.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Don't think its worth losing out on a few mil again so sell snoddy and bring in 2 decent players

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoddy ... sign contract extension PLEASE and tell him we'll try to improve it even more once the takeover is completed. Neil, if he won't, flog him and spend the money on bringing in someone else of the same quality who wants to play for Leeds United.

Agree0 Disagree0

Encouraging news that Warnock is looking for another 3 'excellent signings'. Whether Peltier is one of these is yet to be confirmed, but it appears he's our first choice right back who we're going for. I would suggest a striker is another 'excellent signing', with Maynard appearing to be our target-would be a good signing. So the other signing is a mystery-attacking midfielder i would suggest? Keep the faith, Neil is doing an excellent job. Marching on together

This Leeds site must be the busiest on club rumours.i looked at Leicester site to see any take on beckford.they have about 8 banter posts in a month,pathetic.so I checked a few more and same again.no interest in there club.also what do you think chances are of beckford coming back?.id like to see him back..shrew Leeds {Ed020's Note - it is, i've just had over 150 posts to deal with by myself lol, loving it!!!!!! M.O.T}

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Of course we want and need Beckford back. Just the marquee signing we need now to get the juices flowing. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

The 150 posts you had to deal with must have been the 150 Beckford supporters ... leave him where he is and sign a QUALITY team striker.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Confidence in our manager and in his signings that's why we are not placing erroneous rumours on the boards. What's the point of saying you are signing anyone and everyone. It's all down to the club who is signed, not us the supporters.
Dream on.

Agree0 Disagree0

We do not NEED or want Beckford back, just where do you think he would fit in with the players Warnock is bringing in?

No, seriously? Arrogant, self centred, lazy and won't go chasing a ball?

Yes he scored goals for us, and helped get us promoted but then he walked away for MONEY?

MONEY does not equal LOYALTY?

We have managed fine without him, I rest my case.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldnt have said it better myself ed! would have him back in a heart beat, besides i could get my old leeds shirt back out cause guess who it has on it!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry Ed ... he loved Leeds United that much that he wanted to go around Christmas in his final year, disrupted the dressing room and ran down his contract rather than sign an extension so that any interested parties would have to pay a fee for him. That was not in the best interests of Leeds United. Leave him in the "recycle bin". That apart, I can't see him being the type of player who would fit into Neil Warnock's plans ... however, I could be wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

He may have done whatever, but the FACT still remains he walked out on Leeds without us getting a penny from the transaction, for personal GAIN?

dont forget some players from abroad dont settle in properly and dont play to there potential e.g gradel went to france and didnt like it so austin may not either

Believable2 Unbelievable5

But Austin is not Norwegian, I think he's Jamaican ( I may be wrong ) but deffo not from Norway, I think if he can switch it on for Norway he can switch it on for us. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

He will be fine better prospects here than in Norway, he is 27 and has always had the goal to play in England. Its not as though he is a young striker bought for millions with the pressure to bag 30 in a season. Come to leeds and crunch some Championship teams for us! done!
KarlT

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard gradel played very well for St. Etienne, they finished in the top half of the french ligue 1 which is probably slightly better standard than the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely fair point poster. Must admit to being a touch sceptical initially that a 27 year old playing in the Norweigan league would turn out to be our saviour. Just as I remain sceptical about the likelihood of Rogers making a sustained impact. But I will reserve judgement -and obviously back the guys once we kick off. Hoping we are both pleasantly surprised. Chapel A

Not so much a rumour but just wondered what peoples thoughts are on Rogers? Never really got going last season but not much had been said about him, hopefully he can be a surprise package for us this season.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

He was good against Farsley, I know its only Farsley but he showed he was a talented player, he seems to have a footballers brain too! Unexpected for a yank!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm thinking he must have something about him otherwise NW would have transfer listed him along with the sub standard tosh that have already been listed, he will hopefully be like a new signing for us as didn't get much action last season due to injury. MOT SussexLeeds

Agree0 Disagree0

From when he joined I was hoping he could be a desent player, he has pace and is good with the ball at his feet. 2 goals in 2 games so looking like he is getting involved in Pre season, personally i think rogers is more rounded than White wand is naterally a forward player which if White works on along with his blistering pace could be good but not there yet. I'd like to think Rogers can push for a spot on the wing and can give us some options. But thats what you want from a squad options going foward so if the chances arnt coming bring on some fresh legs.

Looking good so far, I think Warnock is a fan. Could be brilliant this year I think. Matt Ward

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure. Reserve judgement, but remain a touch sceptical about the likelihood of Rogers making a sustained impact. Recent experience -Grella, Nunez, Somma- suggests that players from North America are, due to the uncompetitive nature of their leagues, simply not battle-honed to the same degree as their Anglo-Saxon counterparts. It's a bit of an issue for any team taking a punt on any players from NA below the top echelon of those who have played a lot of international football at a young age, or left very early -probably as teens- to play in Europe. Obviously hoping I'm going to be pleasantly surprised though. Chapel A

This 1 million pound offer for Maynard seems strange to me, how can we offer this much probably knowing that it will be turned down and perhaps offering again? Maybe the takeover has happened and they won't announce it yet to keep player prices down and get all our targets in, then new contracts can be offered to Ross and snoddy

Well every1 heard rumour that kelvin Wilson of Celtic is 1 of Neil warnocks main target watch this space big strong and very fast p.s I think he would be ideal for Leeds What's your thoughts lads?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Very poor player who struggled in the SPL. He is one of the poorest players I have seen, even worse than O'Dea.

For the first time in about 5 years I'm actually happy being a Leeds fan the team looks good IMO and if we do get another 2-4 players in will make my year knowing we actually have a chance of promotion ow and we have all still got the takeover to come yet turning out to be a good year well done Neil keep it going MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable1

You should always be happy to be a leeds fan!

Leeds to make a bid for Newcastle Jets starlet Marko Jesic would make a decent signing imo and it continues what will be a ambitious transfer window

Believable6 Unbelievable5

I really hope not.

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy is a gun striker {Ed020's Note - standard of football over there is'nt as fast a tempo as it is here, i think he'd struggle personally. and this is me who watches alot of aussie soccer}

Agree0 Disagree0

Really not sure -how much knowledge of this player and their suitability for a sustained promotion push does this poster have. Knowing someone's name, and being vaguely aware that they are blessed with a good level of basic skill, and a few tricks, really isn't enough. Especially when we're talking young and pretty much untried in this country at any level. Sorry, but we need to be really clear and focused about what we need at this point. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

I live in Aust - I can almost guarantee that he wouldn't cut it in the Championship. The level of football in the A-League is probably slightly better than League 2.

Believable8 Unbelievable10

Good one. He doesn't play for wolves anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays for hamburg and is on upward of 25,000 a week

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he plays in germany mate, stop posting nonsense!

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly ppl are talking no truths when they dont even no the club he is at.

we have made decent signing adding to the thin squad we have already any gk we sign cant be worse off the rachubka so give ashdown a chance prem lge experience as well

Agree0 Disagree0

More importantly he isnt a good player he has no footballing brain and too soft for a cb he doesnt know his **** from his elbow lol.

Rumour is the final 4 players are McGugan (NW went to Nottingham last week to talk to him supposedly), Maynard/Beckford, Cranie and Peltier

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Your rumour might, just might have been believable unit you mentioned ... wait, have a guess ... you are correct, Beckford

Agree0 Disagree0

Mcgugan wont fit in to what we have but is a decent player. if we are looking for a striker why not dave kitson he is not at all bad and looks like portsmouth are closing any way

Stood next to warnock after Leeds v tavy game been trying to sign varney for 7 years Snd paynter has all but gone and admitted not signed his top targets yet also admited Austin not a great player but 1st on the team sheet futer looking bright MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable8

He never said that about austin, he said he wasnt worth 2,000,000. also when a player is first on the teamsheet that generally means he is pretty damn important.

Agree0 Disagree0

Question.?, Why sign someone if they're not a great player. Your words. Video evidence says he looks a very good player all but in the norwegian league(no offence).

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would he tell you that Austin is not a great player?

Also he has already signed his top target in Kenny.

Does anyone know why paynter didn't play tonight?

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Maybe he's been shown the Barn Door

DW

Agree0 Disagree0

Slight groin strain

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he's crap

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol DW - but i still don't think he's had a good run at Leeds.

wish him well in the future.

Agree0 Disagree0

Shown the barn door, but not how to hit it! Maybe he's on his way.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Maybe he's been shown the Barn Door"

And exactly what would you expect him to do with one of those, as he wouldn't be able to see it let alone hit it.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Another team wants him apparantly. 2 year deal. Also heard that O'Brien is wanted by an unnamed club, also 2 year deal!

FL455H {Ed020's Note - fingers crossed eh, less of the wage bill}

Agree0 Disagree0

Neil didn't want him to get injured ... he's on his way to Crawley, or Notts County, or Bournemouth, or ANYWHERE.
