Just heard that Cellino intends to appeal. He is angry at being branded as a crook and will fight to clear his name.
Ed- any idea on timescales for these appeals?

Believable33 Unbelievable8

{Ed013's Note - No idea sorry}

Been on ssn he is appealing and peltier defo signed 4 forest

Agree1 Disagree2

Up to 14 days I think t appeal the FL but I think he would need to clear his name on the tax ovation first b4 FL will give em the time of the day.
he also says he is doing it for the fans and that need money in days or months but rather than hours? sounds that were up the creak without a paddle!
god how another 3 points tonight would nearly cheer me up!

Hope he does appeal the FL decision, but on what grounds can he appeal? He's said himself that it can take months/years for the Italian court to hear his appeal on the tax evasion, so nothing will have changed within the next 14 days.

Agree1 Disagree0

For todays fixed football lottery and fixed results, all enquiries to shaun harvey

Agree1 Disagree0

Peilter signs on loan to Bolton,, we need a billionaire for our great club mot

Agree0 Disagree1

He said he can pay off fine tomorrow i.e its not a massive bill. So I can't see why he can't do that and then be allowed to takeover.

Agree0 Disagree1

Poor Mr Cellino, branded a crook by the FL who them themselves are crooks, they represent 3 clubs below Leeds, isn't that a conflict of intrest?
Anyway forget the sour grapes, if another buyer comes in wouldn't it make more sense to let Leeds go into administration so they wouldn't have to buy the clubs debts? the saga continues
. MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

Hope he gets himself a proper barrister to replace coco and GFH's clowns otherwise he is just wasting more of his retirement time. Wish you all the best Mr Cellino but the odds are stacked against you with Shaun Harvey at the helm of all things corrupt at the FL.

Agree1 Disagree0

Do you really think that Administration will help, it wont. Remember 17 points deduction, what's the betting if LUFC do enter admin, for second time in a few years, then it will be 20 points deducted, and that's next season, not this. After all if just a ten point deduction was to take place THIS season, that puts LUFC right in Relegation dog fight.

Agree1 Disagree1

As a poster above said how can he appeal when his criminal appeal in Italy won't be heard for a fair amount of time. I get the feeling we should start looking elsewhere for a buyer, maybe GFH are already

Agree1 Disagree0

Original poster here, an appeal in the sense that the FL board were not fully or perhaps appropriately contingent of italian law in concluding their decision. Also to consider what serves the best interests of football indebtedness, and to have a club continue to struggle in this way when there is a man able and willing to set the clubs finances on a proper footing. And perhaps to question the veracity of a FL board adjudicating when they perhaps have vested interests in the bid falling through and worse still lufc going into admin. Especially where mil wall and blackpool are concerned.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest I don't think any club would have an interest in seeing LUFC fail. We are still seen as a big club and usually draw big crowds at our away games. If we are demoted or worse wound up then they will have to replace us with a club from league 1 who with the exception of two or three clubs are nowhere near the big draw that we are

Agree0 Disagree0

Am I missing something, or am I right in thinking if Cellino pays the €600k outstanding, won't he be cleared? Then pass FL approval?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the fit and proper person test would be around the fact that there has been dishonesty in the first place and the incident has gone to court, by your logic any wrong doer who is well off could buy themselves out of trouble, surely that can't be right, MC should have paid the tax bill to begin with surely

Agree0 Disagree0

Its the CONVICTION that is the problem, not the fine. Even if fine paid today, he is still guilty. The conviction would not be "Spent" for 5 years.

neil warnock rejects forest role.

Believable22 Unbelievable3

Hope that does not mean Peltier is now coming back

Heard Bolton want him god knows why he was our worst player in the game against them

Agree1 Disagree2

He obviously doesn't want to be here, and we obviously don't want him here because of that.

Agree1 Disagree1

Who gives a rubbish! about Warnock?

25 Mar 2014 17:23:30
Heard in the interview he said he would like to get a load of old boys in that are past there prime and that his main aim was to hoof the ball up the pitch till the end of the season. Then when relegated would blame everyone from the groundsman to the tea ladies.

Just been reading that cillinio could of had the court case against him postponed for a couple of years but was so sure of his innocents that he went ahead with it if only he had done that then the vultures from the fl may of put him through as fit and propper poor bloke he is being honest and still gets sh#t on

Dietrich Mateschitz owner of Red Bull says he could leave F1. according to Beeb. Coincidence?

Believable8 Unbelievable35

Simon Austin Twitter, cellino being advised to appeal doesn't want to as he is very despondent and down at the moment, but should/would win iff he did, how can he win now?

24 Mar 2014 20:11:57
Iv just asked the same question on another coment below if I was him i'd throw some money at them the crooks in fl would turn a blind eye then bet its happened befor and there should be a conflict of interest issue aswell we have been strung up like a kipper

Agree1 Disagree0

He we go again fantasy leeds, get real but some 1 will buy club, a bargain for some 1 come on you mighty whites stuff the cherries mot

Agree2 Disagree0

Feel for massimo cellino, I think he genuinely wanted to do well at leeds, he put his money into the club, would have liked him to have had a chance to turn us around at least, whatever he has been up to, he loves the club and the massive following of fans, for me do we trust anyone else who may come in for us and will maybe get their wallets out! ( please don't shoot me down it's just my opinion).

Agree3 Disagree0

Lets all sing his name tomorrow night and hope he can find the will to carry on.

Agree2 Disagree0

He can appeal all he wants, it doesn't change he facts. Time for all to move on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Iff it is correct that the fl have on their board persons from rival clubs, then they would have probably still said no, even iff mc had won the tax evasion case, just to stop our chances of getting back to the premier league, maybe the fl board needs checking up on!

seen rumours on twittle that cortese wants to buy us

Believable25 Unbelievable20

Any realistic rumours or is it just those fake ITK accounts? Cortese would be fantastic given what he did for Saints.

Agree1 Disagree0

Who tweeted this?

Agree1 Disagree0

There will be a lot of rumours now about potential buyers. I think there will be a lot of interest in our club. Hopefully it will be sorted out quickly and we have a reputable new owner who is in the club for all the right reasons and can see us back to where we belong.

Agree3 Disagree0

Where did you see these rumours then?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - I saw them, but they are just a rumour. Would be very good if it came true}

And they all lived happy ever after.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Mar 2014 19:14:36
Cortese was not the owner of saints was running the club for liebherr, so if he turns up at leeds he may have a backer as can't see him having enough cash of his own

Agree2 Disagree0

24 Mar 2014 16:40:05
i have seen Cortese' (formerly of soton) name being said on .

Believable13 Unbelievable15

The buyer needs money to buy the club. and invest in players. Me thinks too many buyers out there with only money to buy and nothing left to invest for success. Total waste of time and money to just buy and go backwards.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agree 100% with above comment,, we need a billionaire,, nothin else

Board have issued a statement. They hope the bid is not over! They said they have'nt seen the fat lady yet?

Agree1 Disagree1

Good bit of business if they are paying wages

Agree1 Disagree0

He is rubbish anyway, get him off the wage bill!

Agree0 Disagree1

Hmmmm, Celino gets blocked and we lose 2 players on the same day. Anyone else believe it is because we can't afford wages? Expect a few more to go.

Agree2 Disagree0

Hopefully he will take Paddy Kenny, Green, Varney and a few others on permanent deals come the summer

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Green and Varney are out of contract and I doubt will play for Leeds again}

As Captain!

You can't make this stuff up, can you!??

Agree1 Disagree0

Lol, so Warlord has already started signing our rejects. Hopefully he will take Kenny, Warnock, Brown, Austin with him.

Agree1 Disagree1

24 Mar 2014 18:28:52
Peltier has never delivered

Agree1 Disagree1

Another rat trying to sink the deserted ship then.

. yes I DID get that right, as we aren't sinking anywhere fast, but it's good (not) to see the persons jumping overboard, should save us some serious money next year if we can just refuse them re-entry?

Who is Peltier by the way?

Leeds4alongtime

Agree0 Disagree1

Or not. Appears Peltier and Warnock deals may be on hold. Forest having a poor day too

Agree1 Disagree1

Started already, take over not allowed by FL, two players leave. How are Stokes keepers as I see another loaner returning by the end of the month. We must be hated by all at FL including Shaun Harvey, why take 8 weeks to decline only to see our depts increase with no interest looming. How do we repay the Italian the reported 6.5m he weighed in. Perhaps the pot less Goats from Enterprise will come in in the hope we have forgotten he issued a winding up order (only for Mr Cellino to make good). I have know idea how we will survive this, I really don't.

Agree1 Disagree0

24 Mar 2014 20:29:44
God riddance 1down only another dozen to go bar rosso smith Murphy and Pearce they are the only ones that seem to try and give a dam oh and that includes I say the rite things but only care about myself McDermott

Takeover blocked by FL, Cellino has 14 days to appeal

Believable24 Unbelievable5

Yet more Fox off to the football league chants then .

Agree3 Disagree0

He's said before that if football league reject him he will walk away. Very worrying times for the club, I think it's in real trouble

Agree3 Disagree0

He won't appeal!
He'll retire to Miami and watch us on the telly - do they do league one footy on the telly?!in Miami?

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm looking on ebay to see if I can find a paddle for sale. we urgently need one because we look like we'll be up a creek without one!!

Agree1 Disagree0

The silence for GFH is deafening!! surely they would have been prepared for this morning news and had a statement prepared either way!! Maybe they are all panicking because they don't have clue what to do next

Agree3 Disagree1

24 Mar 2014 13:28:26
GFH are rubbish. They shouldn't have gotten involved with Celino in the first place.

Agree1 Disagree1

David Haigh's word " no way will Leeds United go into administration " there has to be a plan B?

aa

Agree2 Disagree1

Am I right in saying that the Board Members of the Football League who have voted, three of them are owners/chairman of Championship teams, all of which are below us in the league and all who would benefit to Leeds United suffering as a result of this decision, either by administration and 10 points deduction or simply unrest and poor results.
I believed this test was a process that was either Yes or No based on information supplied, a vote implies personal opinion, so when factoring in the board members from Middlesbrough, Blackpool and Millwall, we were never going to get a fair result.
My opinion

Agree4 Disagree0

We are being held to ransom by the fl, it realy look like we could go into administration, and those poeple would just love docking us points. after fifty years of supprting leeds united I am at the lowest ebb I have ever been.

Agree2 Disagree0

I think it is a fair result. Who wants their club run by a fraudster with multiple convictions. Flower will be back in with an offer and so will other buyers.

Agree0 Disagree1

Mike Farnans group set to make an announcement in the next 24-48hrs!

Agree0 Disagree0

And now Wickhams gone back to Sunderland and Peltiers gone to Forest! We are in the **** Thanks GFH

Agree1 Disagree0

75% of FL Board voted against, so unless there are only 4 board members the above poster is far from correct.

Agree1 Disagree1

I blame Gfh greedy penguins

Agree1 Disagree0

Leeds going in to admin and straight back in to league one. 3 years from now there will be no more leeds united. fact.

Agree1 Disagree2

{Ed013's Note - Absolute nonsense}

Out of interest - I'm no expert, but where do the FL now stand if the Club goes into administration as a result of them blocking a viable financing plan. Could the liquidators sue them on behalf of the creditors to cover the debts? In effect, the FL would have blocked the creditors of LUFC getting their money?

Agree1 Disagree0

For your information The current members of The Football League Board are:

Greg Clarke (Chairman)

Richard Bowker CBE (Independent Director)

Andy Ambler (Millwall)

Keith Lamb (Middlesbrough)

Karl Oyston (Blackpool)

John Nixon (Carlisle United)

James Rodwell (Notts County)

Ian Lenagan (Oxford United)

Agree2 Disagree0

It makes me laugh when people type fact after they make a statement on here, especially when it is utter rubbish.

Agree1 Disagree0

The FL have not blocked a 'viable financing plan' They have blocked somebody who is not fit and proper because of his criminal past.

Agree0 Disagree1

. Cellino denied as a F&PP. yet Abrimovich is OK?????????????????????????? WTF

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Different rules now}

24 Mar 2014 20:06:22
Can anyone tell me if cillinio put in an appeal could it be overturned and has this ever happened before, and as I was saying to my mate today don't you feel cursed and always down when it comes to our great club as there is always someone pissing on our parade, anyway first time on here hi

Massimo Cellino's takeover vetoed

The Football League has disqualified Italian businessman Massimo Cellino from buying a majority stake in Championship club Leeds United. See tv web site!

Believable18 Unbelievable6

It's was always going to happen really, so no surprise from me. We just need to try and see out the season without the threat of admin, that would be disastrous.

Agree1 Disagree0

Under the rules he has 14 days to appeal. but on what grounds I have no clue, he may not want too. gutted, MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

I don't think many people will be surprised the Cellino failed, GFH included so I hope the GFH have contingency plans in place, if not I fear that the threat of administration is very real unless someone comes up with an offer very soon. Will Celino want his £6m back? GFH obviously don't have that kind of money so where will if come from?

Even if one of the consortiums comes back with an offer that GFH will accept, would they have the funds to push the club forward?, otherwise its many more seasons of mediocrity ahead.

Not a good day for LUFC compounded by the news that Wickham has returned to Sunderland.

Administration awaits i'm afraid - very sad news and hard being a Leeds Fan. The whole football world must be pissing themselves at this shambles

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree, we're fast become a joke. But as we always do as Leeds fans we'll keep fighting on. hopefully with an owner(s) who care about the club, who really do have ambition for the club, who tell the truth, have respect for the fans and will push us forward. Marching on together

24 Mar 2014 11:30:41
A statement from the Football League read: "At its meeting yesterday evening (Sunday), the Board of The Football League considered the eligibility of Massimo Cellino under its Owners' and Directors' Test.

"The Board considered detailed legal advice with regard to the application of its regulations within the context of a decision made under Italian law.

"Mr. Cellino was recently found guilty beyond reasonable doubt by a Court in Sardinia of an offence under Italian tax legislation relating to the non-payment of import duties on a boat. This resulted in a fine of €600,000, an order for the payment of trial costs and the confiscation of the boat in question.

"Having fully considered the matter, the Board agreed unanimously that the decision of the Italian Court does constitute a disqualifying condition under its Owners' and Directors' Test.

"The relevant disqualifying condition being that Massimo Cellino has been convicted of an offence involving acts that would reasonably be considered to be dishonest.

"In line with Football League regulations, Massimo Cellino is entitled to appeal against the Board's decision within 14 days. In such circumstances, The League would seek to expedite the process to deliver certainty to all parties in the shortest possible timeframe."

Connor Wickham has been recalled by Sunderland.just waht we need!

Believable21 Unbelievable2

Typical, mind you he probably asked to go back, BMD has been playing him out of position and he hasn't looked happy! Well done Bri.

Agree0 Disagree3

Is that because LUFC can't pay their portion of "Loan Wages".

Agree1 Disagree0

He was wasted at Leeds, played out of position by our wonderful manager. Games 8 Goals 0, Assists 0. Says it all really. Best wishes at your home club Connor, they need you and you'll have a much more tactically effective manager.

Agree1 Disagree1

Cos all us in the know could have told u cellino.had failed a week ago and we can't afford the.wages

Takeover off!

Agree1 Disagree0

I'd rather have Wickham in the team playing out of position that Stewart or Kebe!

Agree2 Disagree0

Leeds were paying very little of his wages so he has gone back for footballing reasons, I think in part to him being played out of position by us but also Sunderlands injuries are mounting up
