Being linked with Williamson, Newcastle defender and a giant by all accounts.

He probably won't be exposed at this level and could come in handy at corners defensively as well as in their penalty area. I say get him provided he is free and not big wages.

No he won't be free and he reminds me of a newcastle player we bought O'Brien enough said

A number of my friends are Sunderland fans and they are gutted he is leaving Newcastle so, yeah, I wouldn't touch him at that point.
PS didn't we get O'Brien from Bolton?

Bardsey, his deal ends next June so I doubt he will command a fee greater than quarter mill. It'll be non disclosed like it usually is. If it's over quarter mill I say walk away. If it's under and wages reasonable I say get him because at this level he will be alright and useful at set plays.

George I've seen a good few sources mentioning that it would be a seven figure deal for him (one even saying £2.5m but that seems a little far fetched). He wants to leave and with only 1 season on his contract it seems high but if they don't want him to go they could be trying to scare teams off. Also though he is a big guy i'm pretty sure he has only managed 1 goal for Newcastle from a set piece so maybe not too great in the opposition area.

2.5m? He ain't worth that. Avoid. We need to concentrate on pacey touchline huggers.

Wish him all the best. Good lad and I think things could have been very different here if we'd given him half a chance.

Following the departure of Sharp and Austin, Wootton is the one remaining real liability in my view, so we're getting there. Will not shed any tears as and when Morison, Sloth & Bianchi eventually move on through lack of opportunities, but am ok with them remaining as squad players for the time being -they can do a job when necessary, as all can play football. Not counting Ajose obviously, as he does not seem to figure at all in plans.
