Jackson Irvine from Burton now linked, he is another midfielder! Why? Do we not have enough now? Surely priority is a couple of CB's and another striker? Also discussions are on going about how much Wood is worth if Assombalonga is worth 15M? In the Mirror it says we have slapped a £20M price tag on him, personally I would add another £5M to that! There is another rumour rumbling along that Monk wants Chris Wood in exchange for cash and Patrick Bamford! No thanks, Bamford yes to play along side Wood. This next move in the transfer market could determine how good our season will be! MOT

Agree mike. No more mids. don't really want to sell wood. Who could we buy for $20m to replace him though?

He played well at burton. But we have plenty of midfielders. He's a sound lad though played with him here in Australia just before he went over to Celtic

Birmingham now in for Aden Flint. Will we miss out on him and have our options lessened and go for either helender or barts. ? Either, I'd be happy with as jansson played with both . think the swede could be good value if he succeeds like jansson did in 1st season. MOT 👍⚽️😃

Matty, were we ever in for him? I've been saying since our director of football started recruiting that I've got a feeling we will not buy any British players as they are seen as overpriced. I know we've got Pennington but he's only on loan. I may be totally wrong but let's see.

I think we're profiting more from the frustration of talented kids being stuck in development sides in Spain. Huge talent churning through Barcelona and Real youth setups but they never get a sniff of first team football. We've had a decent record of bringing youth through to the first team. Now that's the main development strategy I'm very pleased. Much better to build success than throw cash trying to buy it. Boro tried it a few years ago. Problem was they were only recruiting local lads that weren't good enough and fast-tracked them to the first team. We're casting our net wide and getting hooks in all sorts of places, picking up some serious talent to develop. I'm giddy with excitement for the future.
