Leeds' move for Matt Mills has broken down and will now turn their attention to former Stoke City CB Mattew Upson. also I posted about the Vaughan transfer yesterday - picking up momentum once Brian gets the green light. -SL

But is the Green Light on? No bid for Rowe? Mills loan breakdown? Russell goes to Derby? come on GFH this club is waiting to take off! MOT

Its all very bates-like.

Would take Upson over Mills any day of the week regardless of age, proven over the years and clearly capable still as shown when on loan to Brighton end of last season. MOT SussexLeeds

The green light is stuck on amber. There's no money and the potless chancers have a long term plan based on freebies and youngsters from the lower leagues. Aim low and go nowhere.

What has happened to what we was promised no point telling us where getting a player when we dont
Agree0

You guys are great. It isn't even July yet (when the window officially opens) plus who'c to say these players that we are linked with or players who have joined other clubs were actually on our radar? How can we possibly have missed out on Russell if we never even wanted him in the first place. BMD is a great manager with great scouting ability in all divisions and countries. Give the guy and the board a break for f*cks sake. If the season has started and we still have no players signed up then fair enough voice your concerns but come on guys!
Agree0

Waiting for the green light? light hasn't been green for 10 years and that still hasn't changed, we a joke of a club at the moment. Got a class manager in and looks as though no money to spend
Agree0

Unfortunately I agree with poster no 4.
We need to forget the marquee signing because it is not gunna happen.
He has been very astute with his wordings but simplified it means that unless we get someone to fund, there is very little in the coffers.
Why have these chancers been allowed to buy our once great club?

A few people who went to the Q and a with Brian mcc last night stating, that Brian been told that the funding he'd been promised was now not in place. Don't know how true but a lot off people who were there saying same cash amounts sounds bad

. And even if it wasn't rubbish, I'm not entirely sure that McD would come out and say that if we valued his job.

The lad on twit had a photo off him and McDermott, I hope it int true. And I couldn't see how Brian would have stated this to a young lad. More stating the same though. I still feel we are in need off investment to get the players Brian wants or they would already be hear

This summer is turning out to be just like last summer, last year we didn't have the £$ for joel ward, now it seems we don't have the cash to bid for tommy rowe, last summer the club pr were 0 on the volume dial, same 12 months on, last year the silence were due to the takeover, are we to assume the silence now is due maybe to another takeover or have gfhc actually found a strategic investor with the finance required?
Agree0

Read Q&A on official site and tell me what u think m8?
Agree0
Disagree0
So having just read the Q and A section on OS, I won't be expecting any fireworks in the current transfer window or the one after that or the one after that, looking for promotion therefore in 2015/2016 season!
Agree0
Disagree0
My take on todays Q and A on the official site, what we, ve come to expect from the previous owner and now GFHC scripted questions as ever, also got the feeling they were using FFP as a excuse re: what they will spend, what I want to know is, who is actually running the club from GFHC?From when they took over Haigh and Patel were the men it appeared in charge and the mouthpiece, now they have it seems been replaced by Alrayes whom we never hear a thing from and Noorudin, hopefully GHFC will issue a statement soon so we know whom and who are actually running us, from July 1st GFHC can no longer hide, the new chairman should be announced, and we, l see how well B Mac is backed in the transfer window, will be going to the Walsall friendly game so hoping to be seeing a few new additions by the time that match comes around on 20th July.
Agree0
Disagree0
I don't mind waiting a few years (it's been a while already. I suppose I can wait a bit longer) for Leeds to go up. Just so long as they actually do.
This is where GFH have to prove that they're not just another Bates. If we finish each of the next 2 or 3 seasons having made progress from the season before, and looking more likely that we will get there, I'm okay with that. I don't want them to go out and bankrupt us in one transfer window. But at the same time, we can just sit in mid-table in the championship forever.
At the end of the day, all we're doing is speculating, and only time will tell. Now let's just be patient and see what happens.
Agree0

Statement from last night said that BM WILL be backed financially in the transfers that he wants, so OP talking bs and just stirring

The Bolton News reporting that negotiations with Beckford taking longer than expected. McDermott indirectly involved but is hoping to sign him next week when some decent funds are released to him. Expect a number of players to be exiting ER and these will free up further funds. MOT

We don't want Beckford back lazy tosser

Move on from Beckford you crank!
Agree0

Would be absolutely delighted if Beckford was back. Comment above - have you studied our so called strikers?
Agree1
Disagree0
Too many "Fans" are still bitter that Beckford left to go to a Premier League club to better his career. I do not blame him for doing this, he gave his all until the end of his time at Leeds. Look at how he dealt with the Gradel situation in his last game, and how his goal secured promotion for us. He tried the Premier League, it did not work out, now he is back in the Championship. I would love to see him back (although I can not see it happening) as we have no real pace going forward and this has cost us since he left. Name another striker since who has managed to score even half as many goals for Leeds
Agree1
Disagree0
I think most fans would want him back tbh mate. clearly you didn't hear the reception he got when he played against us at eland road!
Agree0
Disagree0
Would love if the the club showed abit of AMBITION and brought beckford and vaughan here, these 2 kept huddersfield up last season.
Agree0
Disagree0
The fact they were both at hudds on loan who nearly got relegated is a negative not a positive.
Agree0
Disagree0
Just hope McDermott jumps at this opportunity - rare that a proven goalscorer is available and better still, he has already done it at ER. Come on McDermott - make the fans happy
Agree0
Disagree0
First reply - don't know what planet you are on - Beckford has class and will score goals. Not sure if you have noticed, our current strikers don't score much!
Agree0
Disagree0
Our current strikers don't score much because we just sold our top scorer, and because ross has been in a supporting role this season.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that he scored 19 goals in the 2011-12 season. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't call that not scoring much.
Agree0
Disagree0
We don't want Beckford back, ffs, we want to go forwrd so give up with these ex players
Agree0
Disagree0
Senior striker - McCormack - 8 goals from 40 appearances last season - I would call that "not scoring much". As a senior player, he also needed to up his game when needed last season and that did not happen. The other strikers definitely didn't score either.

Negotiations over Matt Mills have broken down. We have turned to Titus Bramble as a cheaper experienced alternative. Willing to accept 20k a week so GFH reaching deep into the pockets for this marquee signing to signal our ambition. 3 year deal with option of a 4th for us. Andy O'Brien ( a big mate of his) persuaded him. I'm afraid I can't reveal my source- usually correct.

Hope so because if he spent as much time concentrating on his game than arguing every decision and spitting he would be ok. Let him go he's a donkey, too slow, not hungry and not good enough!
Agree0

To the poster above about diouf, have you seriously been to any games last season? Although diouf has no pace, he was one of our better players! His first touch is nothing short of premiership quality, as is his brain. His ability to bring others into the game with his one two's was second to none and also he won us tons of corners and freekicks which gave us chance to get men forward (granted we aren't that good at set pieces) when the rest of the game we had 10 men in our own half defending because nobody could pass a ball other than to hoof it!
Agree5

I agree Dioufy was one of are better players last year would love a couple like him but with pace then we talking promotion

No chance he is leeds through and through and won't travel from Bolton to hull every day because he ain't moving

Why would hull want to buy diouf when they can afford better??
Agree0
Disagree0
I must admit I was concerned when he came to the club, because of his past. but he has been a good quality player for us, and has definately matured. I can't see him going to hull.
Agree0
Disagree0
He started very well but as the season went on he had less influence. coincidentally, that's when his poor attitude started to reassert itself.
Still, one of our better players last season but, I think all would agree that he wasn't likely to be offered another extension.
