Kenny, peltier, beckford and Guthrie coming in once takeovers complete!

Believable21 Unbelievable10

Shoot for the stars........looks we're bin taken over by a local garage if this is wot we r after

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take all those thanks :-)

But there are better players than peltier

Agree0 Disagree0

How many more times do we need to be told this...?

I know it's a rumour site, but lets get some new ones, shall we?

Agree0 Disagree0

Do not think there will be loads of money to spend if takeover comes to fruition. Bates needs his wallet lining first.

Agree0 Disagree0

JB couldn't cut it at Everton at Premier League level so why should LUFC help him now?

OK so 17 starting (league and cup) appearances and 9 goals looks good

Also whilst at Leicester 37 starting appearances (league and cup) and 15 goals.

Thats roughly a ratio of 2:1

But you have to ask why Everton dumped him too Leicester and why are Leicester trying to off load him now?

JB stay away (imho)

Agree0 Disagree0

What's all this about beckford colin as never mentioned anything about him. i wish he would come back but i don't think it's gonna happen sorry guys.

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton got rid of Beckford because they had zero money and Leicester offered £3.5million roughly on a player they paid nothing for 12 months earlier, thats good profit for a club with no money.

I'd have him back

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't believe people are still saying beckford didn't cut it in prem league. everton paid £0 for beckford sold him for around £4 mil . no brainer really. they sold saha and beckford and brought in jelovic .so got rid of 2 wages and got some money to spend and then probably brought in a player of high quality that wasn't injury prone .

Agree0 Disagree0

There will be because of the new rules £6M available for transfers, any more money must come from sales.......

Good championship level player IMO.

Levy restaurants have agreed a deal with Leeds united to provide food on match days and non match days
source: LUFC website

a.ka this company is based in Chicago. hint hint.

Believable9 Unbelievable6

They're based in Charlotte, North Carolina...

Agree0 Disagree0

They are not based in Chicago, they are a UK based company

Agree0 Disagree0

You are all wrong imewith a spattering of truth levy restaurants was established in chicago but is a subsidary of compass uk which in itsellf a part of w world wide conglomrette

Agree0 Disagree0

Who cares? Crap chips, give me Harry Ramsden any day.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

Good grief, clutching at straws has become an Olympic sport.

Agree0 Disagree0

Levy Restaurants is a restaurant company based in Chicago specializing in providing premium-quality vending and food services to major entertainment and sports venues. It is a unit of Compass Group, and was founded in 1978.
It operates over 100 foodservice locations in 41 markets throughout the US and Canada. In 2004, company revenue exceeded $470 million, and was projected to exceed $600 million in 2005.[1] The company owns several restaurants and fine dining locations in addition to its entertainment venue holdings.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I don't care about the food, but 3.50 for a shocking pint of Becks needs attention :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Food at ER is the worst in the Football League, cold burnt burgers, soggy or hard chips, dodgy kebab meat which makes ya loose the next day.....Pies which have no filling....

Hope this guys make it better, they cant be any worse.

I did hear that McDonalds wanted to do the outlets in the stands, not corporate, but were refused.

Potential new owner of leeds is kenneth griffin self made billionaire and ceo of citadel american based consortium based in chicago griffins company is valued at around 11 billion and kenneth personal fortune estimated of around 2.2 billion they are interested in leeds it was also suggested that his company may be involved in negotiation for the naming rights of elland road with recent reports that chicago based consortium were recently given a tour round elland road and thorpe arch this company is the only chicago based consortium that have not denied they want to buy leeds my money on this guy the first reports on linking him to leeds was 31 may time to get this far with takeover this is just want i think up to you want you think

Believable6 Unbelievable7

I think with financial clout like that we can expect quality players at Elland Road, the ones were currently linked with are mainly from championship sides, surely we can aim a bit higher than them.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all well and good saying we should be aiming higher if we get some financial clout behind us but how many premiership players do you know that will drop down a league to play in the championship? The only one's are the rejects, which are only probably only as good as a top quality championship player!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think ur wrong we need good championship players u cant go round spending millions on players we have the fair play rules nw that state max transfer funds is 6 million + profit of last season and the funds u spend this season will loss profit if we dont go up as we made 3 million last season after sales of players stop living in a dream world

Agree0 Disagree0

The new owners are from the Middle East, as stated in YEP and other media sources.

Once takeover is complete, Neil Warnock wants Jermaine Beckford to return to Leeds and wants to sign Brighton's Inigo Calderon and ex-QPR midfielder Lee Cook. ONLY A RUMOUR.

Believable13 Unbelievable8

He doesn't want beckford hes never coming back

Agree0 Disagree0

If ... and only if Neil Warnock wanted Beckford back, his name would not be spread around by rumours, it would be like the Adam Drury ... signed first, announced next. Sadly Beckford on nsomone else's wish list ... please stay where you are Jermaine!

its a rumour site - we can speculate ok

an Arabian man doesnt excitedly announce on kuwaiti's Match of the day TV show that hes buying a champ club linked to history and warnock - unless he is

1 puddled and on meths

2 excited and telling the truth

3 he was correct but was then outbid

next day after all the twitter leaks the the confidentiality reality kicked in and they had to make up a load of bull to cover their tracks - like ' hes got no money '

Revie Junior will be the front man - the arabs have the money - with some Yank money thrown in too

one thing is sure we are in for a change

A name that seems to be staying under the radar is Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani (Google him) - He's been hovering around Everton and Leeds for a couple of years without making a move

I heard the name Duncan revie going around and I've found this article which pretty much says these rumours are true http://www.metro.co.uk/sport/football/48780-revie-to-make-bates-approach

Gyw

Believable4 Unbelievable7

Old article from years ago, why do people distort the facts?

Agree0 Disagree0

Very interesting, just read it. If true I agree would answer alot of questions.
I have two slight concerns however -
1 - why if we have signed a confidenciality agreement why would Revie be shouting his mouth off about it?
2 - If the "investors" are the family who own Dubai, hasn't the arse just fallen out of Dubai money wise? Would that not worry anyone else?
Ben - telford

Agree0 Disagree0

Arent these just the 2007 rumours being recirculated? What is the date of the metro link?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes they are the 2007 rumours, nothing to do with the current situation!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip that is an archived very old article

Agree0 Disagree0

This is an old article, but Revie is back. The City is full of it tonight, I am sure the papers will pick up on it tomorrow

On 22 June 2012, Lowy agreed in principal to buy Leeds United from Ken Bates for a fee in the region of GB£76m. The deal is expected to be completed by 1 July yusss mot

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Shouldnt believe everything you read on wikipedia
milky

Agree0 Disagree0

Doubt the accuracy of this, mainly because our beloved club is not worth £76m. LUFC don't own ER or TA, so the assets come down to a mid-Championship squad and a small seasonal profit. The club is prob worth half what you suggest.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree entirely with statement 2. Club not worth £76m and £40m would be reasonable estimate. However he could mean he's buying club but investing more to the tune of £76m. Living a dream and more wishful thinking and gossip than fact. We shall soon see

Agree0 Disagree0

LOWY has been interested in LUFC since 2010. Has a big interest in Oz football and owns a major US company which would seem to qualify for a US based interest in LUFC, Which is what we have been led to believe. With statements saying the potential investors / buyer would have no problem satisfying the FA... I believe the 81 year old is on the board of the Ozzie FA ?...... Lets wait and see. At £4 bil worth its one I'd like to dream of :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Lowy would pass the Fit and Proper persons test with flying colours. He is actually the chairman of the FFA (Aust. FA). I live in Aust these days, and I can tell you without a doubt he truly has a passion for football. Until fairly recently he was part owner of Sydney FC. Concerns about his age shouldn't really come into it because his sons look after most of the business interests these days anyway. IF (and it is a big IF) it was him looking at taking us over you can bet it would be as a hobby (a-la Abromovich) more than anything else. Personally, I think it's a pretty long bow to draw to suggest it is Lowy.

Matt - MOT down under

Agree0 Disagree0

If, as most of us suspect, Bates actually DOES own ER and TA, (in whatever guise) and throws them into the deal then I could see this value being about right?

enough crap - her are some facts you can be assured on

1,000,000 % the new owner of leeds united will be fawaz al-hasawi

it will be announced on july 1st by s.harvey

money has been allocated now for new players, it has been kept quite to keep transfer fees down

lees will push on until christmas, if new players and investment is required in january to secure top 2 it is available.

champions league football has been discussed by 2014/15

k.b is going and s.h will be the new ceo

happy days ! . . . . . . dzh

Believable6 Unbelievable14

Ermmm your wrong ypur post makes it wrong cos harvey is already the ceo so wht will he become the new when he already is

Agree0 Disagree0

Al-hasawi has not shown in any way that he has the money to buy Leeds and make us a big club again so don't believe this.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you possibly know money has been allocated for players yet the clubs selling to us do not know of our 'hidden jackpot'?

Agree0 Disagree0

Shaun Harvey is already CEO

Agree0 Disagree0

Can I have a couple of pints of whatever this guy is drinking, takes me ages to get that drunk on Old Rosie......

Wiki says that he agreed a deal in principle to buy Leeds from Ken Bates for £76M on 22 June 2012. I hope that includes ER & TA!

Paddy next, then please let it be Beckford, becchio and beckford back together to destroy championship defences, plus Snoddy to stay to fire the bullets, ruthless flowing attacking football all the way to the prem. MOT DARRRENS111

Believable19 Unbelievable7

Not Beckford. What is the obsession with bringing back old players. Lets move on. Haven't seen Beckford destroying any championship defences so far. Couldn't even outpace Alex Bruce at Elland Road!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why o why beckford he ratted on us for the golden dollar then found out he wasn't up to the grade when he moved to premier their are far more better strikers around for probably same money/wages he's on him and smith are our past history let them stay there!! He also will change the way we play as he gets a tantrum on if he's not used every time and his goals per shots ?? Prob 1 in 5/6 Im guessing !! Wingy Mk MOT to premier with warnocks white army !!

i work for a major bank and although branches are closed the banking system ticks on. if new owners make a transfer to a uk based account for kb then expect it to arrive immediately. type faster payment service into google and you will see.

deakko7

Believable4 Unbelievable6

If you do work for a major bank surely you know the difference between the faster payments scheme and BACS or CHAPS. You think the FPS is suitable for a few million? Duh!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's not strictly true. I also work for a bank and I think you will find that there are certain limits with faster payments and also not all banks are signed up to it (most notably foreign banks). If a payment was to be made regarding such a takeover then, due to the large amount, it would surely be a CHAPS payment due to the added security.

Agree0 Disagree0

You may work for a major bank but clearly know sweet f a about funds transfers. Think you might need to go and read the "idiot's guide to banking" you might learn something

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry but what the hell has this got to do the LUFC takeover -

me thinks funds will already be in place dur!

Agree0 Disagree0

Coming from a foreign bank it will not go via CHAPS transfer - it will go vie CREST and EUROclear depending on where the money is coming from - CHAPS is Uk 2 Uk

I don't post on here much but the ammount of total sh*t posted on here about who's taking over is untrue. According to my source the potential investor(s) is to be the duncan revie consortium which is a stab in the dark. On the other hand speculation is mounting that's its Lowy plain and simply relying on the inaccurate source of 'wiki' stating 'On 22 June 2012, Lowy agreed in principal to buy Leeds United from Ken Bates for a fee in the region of GB£76m. The deal is expected to be completed by 1 July.'

Time will tell I expect it to be complete on sunday (July 1st). Whatever happens Leeds will always be in our hearts

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Can't see it been sunday as the banks are closed

Agree0 Disagree0

Another one with a direct line to ER.
So what your saying is what everyone else posts is s**t but what your saying is kosher?
That's s**t.
JB :@)

Agree0 Disagree0

So your like everybody else just guessing and making things up. Wiki is the most unreliable source of information around as anybody can change it.
Lets just wait and see

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, just a fan, know nothing, don’t have a friend that works somewhere, or bump into players who happily hand over their financial/personal matters to a stranger – but, I don’t know if I missing out on some jokey irony but – will people stop saying ‘I don’t think it’ll be the [Sunday] 1st July ‘cause the banks will be closed’!! So do you think it’ll be on Monday 2nd July - as long as it’s before 4pm, or the bank will be closed! (can I just pay this cheque for £76m into my account please!)
When people are talking these amounts of money – NOTHING is closed! And these people don’t use high street banks anyway! Also, as has been highlighted a lot in the news recently - they don’t even bank in this country!
As the statement says, confidentiality agreements have been signed – so we’ll only know when they wanna tell us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Why does everyone think 1 July, whats so significant with date?

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of s,,t but at least it goes with all the other s,,t on here according to you

Grow a pair, it's a rumour site

Agree0 Disagree0

£76mil?!! What planet are people on?

There's more chance of Messi signing for us than that (at the same time as changing his name to Lionel Tetley and becoming the new monacled beer mat face of Tetley Bitter and getting a tattoo stating "Tetley Bitter activates your shi*ter" on his forehead.

Seriously, the club as a going concerned is valued in the region of £4-5mil. If it turns out old Shipman / Mr Krabz / Crusty The Clown / Ken really does own ER and TA then we may see the price going up to the £15-20mil region.

£76mil my ar*e. I ain't laughed so much since ma caught her t*ts is the mangle.

(GD wimbledon leeds)

Agree0 Disagree0

Can i just remind everyone that the statement on the os yesterday stated that there will be no more announcements regarding this matter in the near future so surely that means it will be weeks rather than days

Agree0 Disagree0

It's Revie with UAE money - the news is spreading in the city. There is no chance that it will be completed by the 1st July it will be mid July at the earliest but more likely the end of July. Which is why they are trying to sort out the short term loan to allow the purchase of the key signings NW wants. No one wants an extended due diligence phase to compromise getting on with rebuilding the club.

Frank Lowy is the man buying leeds!

On 22 June 2012, Lowy agreed in principal to buy Leeds United from Ken Bates for a fee in the region of GB£76m. The deal is expected to be completed by 1 July.

No Lies its on Wiki BOOOM! come on the mighty Whites!! {Ed013's Note -Anyone can edit that, it is not fact}

Believable4 Unbelievable15

"No Lies its on Wiki". One of the best sentences I have ever seen.

Wiki = man in the pub gossip but written down. Anyone can edit or say what they want. It is not validated. I might change it later to say it is now compulsory that you send me 50 quid per week. Then lets see if you believe it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same WIKI i edited last week to say Mario Gomez was joining leeds ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Great so moving from an 80 year old owner to a sprightly 81 year old.

Agree0 Disagree0

''no lies its on WIKI'' hah brilliant. deffo no lies if its on wiki

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol not knowing wiki isn't a reliable source is like turning up to a party after everyone has gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wiki is rubbish, but must say I spoke to a mate in australia who says rumours are hot over there that Lowy is in fact buying Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yuck! Lowy is even older than Bates who he makes look a harmless old gent by comparison. I Don't believe this one and - yes - I could add 'Frank Lowy is a purple giraffe' to his Wikipedia page and there it would be as fact until it was taken down. It's amusing how many different supposed purchasers are 'revealed' with equal certitude by assorted posters. I'll almost miss this stuff when all finally comes clear - almost but not quite.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lowy is the Man, people are talking about Duncan that was Years ago.

Agree0 Disagree0

WIKI stands for: What I Know Is......

what it should be called is: WIKIFA

Which stands for: What I Know Is FxxK All

Agree0 Disagree0

So basically, the Australian billionaire businessman that's always linked with Leeds has bought us? .. doubt it

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget this. This is a complete wind up and is not true. I will change wikipedia to say that Mr Bean is buying the club, will you believe that!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2012 13:19:23
Exciting time for Leeds. Paddy Kenny deal is 90% complete. Just a couple of bits of paperwork to do. Also Jermaine Beckford has been watching the progress of the take over. Now it looks like its going ahead. He would love to return. Just hope that Snodders is considering to stay now.

Believable14 Unbelievable8

Where does all this Beckford talk keep coming from, i would like to see it but dont know where and why these rummors keep appearing from with nothing to back them up

Agree0 Disagree0

Haven't got time for JB anymore, anyone that wants away should stay away, its NOT the same when they return.

As for RS haven't heard that he wanted to leave however, if he wants to go let him, obviously his heart isn't in the right place for Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with both responses to original post, why all this obsession with Beckford ffs?
If he wanted to leave then let him rot wherever he ends up. He may have scored a lot of goals, but he needed managing to such a degree he required wet nursing. If you play or have aspirations to play for Leeds you need to man up. Everytime he threatened to go up for header he would feign injury as if the nearest adjacent player had clubbed him over the head.
It certainly looks like we're going places with imminent takeover, let Beckford rot with all the other want aways as well.

Jedburgh White

Agree0 Disagree0

We will most propbably know about snodgrass in january, I think he will see if we are making a push for promotion or not

Agree0 Disagree0

I have no doubt Beckford will have been watching closely with £ signs in his eyes. I would like to see him back but if it's all about the money & not all about the privilege of playing for Leeds, then it's probably best he doesn't bother! AB

Agree0 Disagree0

All of this is more totally unsubstantiated crap, as usual....

Agree0 Disagree0

I didnt want him back but the way he acted at ER this season, was enough to change anyones mind!

Jordan Rhodes to leeds as part of a swap for Clayton and Lonergan,Reasons behind this are they need to bolster up there midfield and there current keeper is edging closer and closer to retirement. {Ed013's Note - Alex Smithies is their up and coming keeper and is very good so I would expect him to be their number 1 very soon}

Believable14 Unbelievable19

Leeds have NO chance of ever being able to buy Rhodes..Why would he want to go there...WE have MORE MONEY !!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Leeds will offer Clayton and McCormack as part of any deal if they go after Rhodes, me personally, better players out there that have more experience at this level

Rhodes was good at Div 1 level but it's a massive step up

I remember a talented player call Freddie Eastwood who scored loads in Div 1 he got a big money move to Wolves and failed was eventually shipped out to Coventry and then ended back up at Southend

Would rather spend the money on a proven scorer at all levels........Mr Beckford perhaps?

Agree0 Disagree0

Im afraid you wont have more money by weekend, watch this space,as biggest club outside prem gets rich

Agree0 Disagree0

Your being bought out for £50-70 million...our owners got ten times that amount in the bank alone..dream on dream on !!

Well said previous post, their fans aren't the brightest are they

I have a source very close to the club and have been told that three deals have been done however not been confirmed as they have sizeable fees which have been supported by the potential new investors. My source tells me that as soon as the takeover is 100% complete the transfers will also be completed. One of the signings is Paddy Kenny from QPR (which everyone knows about anyway.) The second signing is 21 year old Arsenal midfielder, Craig Eastmond; a signing which will be made simply to bolster the squad and the third signing is someone who played at QPR last year with Neil Warnock but I haven't been told who.

Believable11 Unbelievable8

3 dea;ls hey last night press statement tells me you not telling the truth only 1 deal agreed

Agree0 Disagree0

Lots of names floating about for the potentialtakeover of Leeds.

Rather than throwing another one into the hat I was wondering who everyone preferred out of the current rumours.

Sheppard SNR & JNR
Frank Lowy
Al-Hasawi
Bernard Arnault
Duncan Revie (UAE backing)
American (unknown group)
Canadian Maple Leaf
Kens identical twin

Personally I would want Arnault (not just because he is the richest) but seems like a nice guy and unlike many of the others he is reputable.

onwards and upwards!

Believable8 Unbelievable8

I really dont care who it is, just as long as the team that is put together plays their hearts out for Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

If it's Arnault my wife would love it and expect to see Man Bags added to the merchandise! How about the LUFC badge embroidered with Diamante. I'd puke but the girls will love it....

I think Al Hawasi is more interested in Forest than us so i would deduct his interest and also the Canadian Maple Leaf have denied interest so them as well. I have read a little on Bernard and agree he seems a very good investor to have. Mr P

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows ... we'll have to wait and see, though I like the idea of Duncan Revie with UAE backing as I'm sure he would have the best interests of Leeds United at heart ... just like his old man.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally i would also like to see Bernard Arnault as the buyer. i agree with you he looks and sounds a genuine person and would probably have the football club in his best interests. I could see Duncan Revie doing a great job with his consortium too!! Having said that it doesnt really matter who it is as long as they have ambition and drive (and a little bit of money) to push our great club onwards and upwards!!

Whoever it's not, they've had a good run of free advertising at the expense of us lufc fans.
nobody knew who al hasawi, arnault, maple leafs, andrew wrigley, andrew forrest were until they were linked to the greatest team, this world has ever seen.
a bit of free advertising, after its all over, i hope they all buy a season ticket and come and watch what they could have had!!

Got to be Revie with plenty of money - Can see us returning to glory again under the Revie banner

just been having a look on twitter and cotterill has said he isnt having his medical at leeds but he replyed to paddy kennys tweetr yesterday, about leaving his flat after 2 years, cotterill then said ''on your way to leeds?'' we all thought this was going to happen but with cotterill being close to kenny just makes it that more possible

Ross mccormack has agreed personal terms with crystal palace

Believable10 Unbelievable20

Good luck to him - we can do better than Ross

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason why all of these rumours bout mccormack are on here is because leeds united only offerd him another 500 pound in his contract but he still wants to play for the mighty whites

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny he is away on holiday with no transfer fee agrred

Agree0 Disagree0

A - Source

B - To the poster saying we can do better, have a word lad, he was our top scorer last season, shameful.

Agree0 Disagree0

In this league, tell me how we can do better than Ross? Top scorer with us last year... And the leagues top scorer with Cardiff before that.... I agree he needs to convert more chances... But his goals to chances ratio are better than beckfords..... And everyone seems to want him back?? His overall contribution is better also......

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross will be going no where just yet. There is more to come out OF elland road soon. and the players wanted to leave will not be hastie to leave once the formalities are finished

Agree0 Disagree0

Of course we can do better, otherwise we just stagnate

Agree0 Disagree0

Total c..p my friend

Huddersfield are winning the race and will certainly offer more per week.

Stop using the magic black bag

Toatl c**p my friend , huddersfield only after him because he plays for the mighty whites, if he goes it will be premier , if not he just after more money and not ambition, if thats the case he can go do one

This has just been posted on the World News Threads.

KEN BATES could be on his way out of Leeds after a multi-national consortium were given exclusive access to the club’s books with a deal set to be struck within weeks.

He has been dismissive of potential suitors but yesterday the club announced a period of due diligence ahead of a major investment or, more likely, takeover.

A statement said: “Our discussions have left us very comfortable that they have the financial resources to support the club.”

Make of it what you will

More on the Duncan Revie news... it will involve them also buying ER and TA, immediate injection of 7.5M for new players and another 5M to secure Snoddy and increased wage bill for the new classier players. They are are looking at releasing some of this money to the club now but are having trouble arranging a secure guarantee for theses funds whilst due diligence continues.

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Why on earth would you bother with due diligence if you were simply going to put monies into the club now ??? Wud like to think you know what you are talking about.... But maybe you are just like the rest of us,,,,,,, clueless ..

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite simple really, takeovers and due diligence take time. In this situation it is quite normal for the acquiring company to loan money to the target if they are very sure the deal will go through. The sticking point as I said earlier is that any loan needs to be secured by guarantee or assets. This is causing problems as Ken is probably having issues meeting this. The intention is not to provide the 7.5 + 5 as a loan but only 1.25M as I understand it.

Just heard on the QT from an impeccable City source who is involved. It's Duncan Revie with a consortium of investors from the UAE. He actually gets on well with Ken and tried to invest in the Club before, but this time it's for real.

I work at a hotel on the gold coast in Australia and its our arab season at the moment here. I checked a family in from Kuwait and i got to talking with them about football cause they wanted to know what time the euros semis start here and his son plays at home and i in Australia. I asked him what team he supports and he said Arsenal and when he asked me i said Leeds and thats when his dad said and i quote "Oh Leeds! my good friend just buy them" i said holy s**t are you talking about and before i could try and say his name he said "Al-Hasawi from Kuwait". In that moment i lost my s**t completely! Ive never posted on this site but read it every day. I wouldnt post something so random if i wasnt telling the truth. Anyway take it how you will but im buzzing over here after hearing that!

Cotterill is a 24 yeard old winger, free agent at the minute. former Wigan, Portsmouth and Swansea player... is he the next to come to Elland Road??

Due diligence taking place but dont expect that to be a quick scan over the books 16 companies involved and we know how shady bates has been in the past timescale usually 3 to 4 weeks but expect this to last 6 to 7 weeks !

Believable6 Unbelievable3

How do you know 16 companies are involved it even says in the OS they signed a confidentiality paper so unless you are uncle ken P*ss off

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this has already been going on maybe since last time they had a press release.........or at least I hope

Agree0 Disagree0

This could have be going on for some time and not just starting now so maybe not another 6-7 weeks

Tog

Agree0 Disagree0

It won't take long - most of it has already been done

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive got a feeling this due dillengence test started about a month ago and we are closing in on the takeover. It just seems a bit strange that its took a month for a follow up staement to come from OS.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have no idea when the exclusivity period began or how far in the due diligence process is.
An offer has been made which suggests the books have already been examined by a potential investor (which could mean buyer... bendy, stretchy business semantics).
In effect, due diligence is only as thorough as the people you employ to carry it out. It could be a few days glancing at the accounts or a root-and-branch examination of the club in its entirety (although, I've yet to see such an exacting approach taken).
Cross fingers and hope but I see some happy news coming very soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Jun 2012 08:36:41
The reference to fit and proper persons test suggests 'investment' at or beyond 30% so significant.....also whose 30%? Half Mr Bates' 72% or most of the mysterious 28%?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Don't forget the confidentiality clause, the fact that this exists will stop even the new "investors", whatever their capacity, from discussing how the shareholder infomation was split at Leeds under Uncle Ken.

I think happier times are ahead though

Agree0 Disagree0

If its 30% it must include at least a small proportion of Ken's share. I believe it will be a large share with a view to complete takeover within the year as why would Ken bother with the costs of selling just a couple of percent?!
No. I think this is the new dawn we have been waiting for! Ps where has the rumour about Revie come from?

To all of those that said we were in for Michael Owen...........

Reported in 'The National' today over here in Abu Dhabi that he is close to agreeing a deal with Al Shabab based in Dubai.

Salary 4m Euros a season!

Cant see Cuddly Ken or anyone investor or buyer matching that offer!

Believable7 Unbelievable3

We don't need to, that is not value for money - young hungry players are what we need not someone after final payday.

Agree0 Disagree0

Michael Owen would not go that far out to play no matter what money was offered, he loves his family too much to be that sort of distance away... also with his race horses and everything if he was to leave England it would be to a European country.

Agree0 Disagree0

Owen is always in Dubai with his family and what is the richest sport in the UAE?

Horse racing by a country mile!

Believable4 Unbelievable13

It wierd how the deal completed just over 3 weeks ago and Leeds just announced yesterday the bidder was just aloud to look at the company bookS

Agree0 Disagree0

Source? That rumour was doing the rounds in 2010, and Bates rubbished it then, referring to Frank Lowy as "That fellow who has buggered up the town centre of Bradford". Also how the f**k do you figure that LUFC is worth $5 billion? It would be nice if it was Frank Lowy, as he would be one of the best we could hope for. I live in Aust. these days and seeing what he has done for football here in the last 8 yrs or so has been interesting - to say the least. He is someone with a true passion for the game and the money to be competetive.
