Leeds to possibly make a move for Matt Ritchie and have submitted a loan bid for Ricardo Vaz Te.

Cant see that happening. Bournemouth only bought him in January for somewhere between 750k-1million. Would take a good bit of cash for them
To accept a deal now

But he's not been in any of their squad's this season and some AFC Bournemouth fans say he's on his way

Newcastle away in the next round. Very winable. Come on the mighty Leeds

Believable39 Unbelievable3

I agree, very winnable, however I hope that we don't go through. I think we'll put up a great performance, but maybe a 2:1 loss would be best.
That way we have no distractions, as we aren't going to win it, we can concentrate on building on our great league start.

To the person who hopes we don't go threw. A good cup run would do us good for our financial situation and as a Leeds fan I want us to win every game. How can u not want us to Winn

Agree10 Disagree0

I agree the money would help, but a cup run would detract from our league focus, the 80 million we'd get for promotion would far out weigh a cup ru n.i would much prefer to get promoted than get to the last 16 of the league cup.as a passionate fan ill be over the moon if we win, but my head says concentrate on the league.

Agree3 Disagree3

Is there a date for the fixture yet?

Agree1 Disagree0

Around 23 Sept I think

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed heart must not rule head we need as few distractions as possible

Agree0 Disagree0

Another good experience builder for some of the younger squad members

Agree0 Disagree0

To all those doubters, WHY can't we win this, Bradford got to the final and I have no doubt that we could and probably put in a better performance. I always feel that this competition is about the fans and not the money, how good would it feel for Leeds to lift some silverware at wembley.

Agree1 Disagree0

In the league cup there is always a team who shocks everyone and goes to the end, why can't it be us this year

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone loves a decent cup run but if we lose Rudy or Ross to a leg breaker, we'll all be more than a bit miffed.
A nice distraction but a risky one with -ultimately- minimal financial reward, in the grand scheme of things.
If we filled the Red Bull Arena every other weekend, we wouldn't be talking about needing the poor financial returns of the Capital One Cup to improve the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the one that said it would be best to loose, I totally disagree, we should never go out and BMD will never go out to loose, and also cup games give a chance like Wooton, Smith, dawson etc to get in the starting team and prove themselves. We'll get a lot of money out of cup runs aswell!
-PJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said we should go out to loose! Please re-read what I put! I said that in the long term a cup run could hinder the great start we have had. Another poster put a very good point forward about injurys.

Agree2 Disagree1

Agree0 Disagree0

If he do go to palace he, l be a championship player next season!

Agree2 Disagree0

Maybe be a. Championship player next year Hell also be rolling in $$$ and reely that's all that matters

Agree0 Disagree0

He won't be rolling in $$$ at Palace they have a stricter wage budget that we did under Bates!

Everyone's talking about Ricardo Vaz Te coming to Leeds on loan. Well apparently, West Ham are happy to let him go out on loan until New Year, with the view of us loaning Sam Byram to them for the 2nd half of the season to see if he can hack it in the Premiership and move Perm in summer.

I hope this isn't the case but McDermott has always said he has to let players go before bringing in fresh faces.
MOT!

Believable10 Unbelievable63

Firstly it would be a great sign from the board if we can keep Byram but as a right back he isn't going to win us promotion outright and if we are picking 3 or 4 mill (realistic value) for him its good business to me. There are a lot of high quality Right backs in the championship and a million quid of that would get you a solid replacement. Vaz Te was a bit of a headless chicken what I saw of him at Barnsley admittedly he has improved a little since he went to Wet Spam but the jurys out for me. The best business LUFC can do this year would be to keep McCormack he is a game changer and is a more valuable asset over a season.
I don't think whatever business is conducted in next couple of days that MCD & GFH will want to drop us in it like the previous 2 f*ckwits. let's make some noise on Sat for RM and make sure we do our best to make sure he stays
#MOT

Agree4 Disagree1

I imagine there will be one more face before window closes . GFH will be aware to keep interest an crowds up they will need a signing . We've had a good start an I'm sure they will want that to continue . A signing before sat will bump up the crowd definitely

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally don't think that Ross will be going anywhere. I was at the match at Donny last night and he played his heart out for us.

I agree with the last post though. let's make lots of noise for Ross and all the other lads to show them that we mean business. #inmcdermotwetrust

Agree4 Disagree0

2nd poster 3 or 4m is not realistic don't care what you say had bale look like a snail when we played spuds and lennon amongst others and he's only on the scene! imagine another season or two as a pro price is going to sky rocket the way money is been thrown around these days 3 or 4m would be scandalous IMO championship players going for up to 10m these days and them players aren't that special!

Agree2 Disagree0

GRIMESEYR63 What you have said makes a lots of sense we could replace Byram easily and the money could be reinvested in other areas of the team where we are weak

Agree0 Disagree2

If we want to be great again, we need to keep our promising players and develop them

Agree3 Disagree0

Loan Sam out to see if he can cut it in the prem no club would so that haha Nevermind with your best up and coming player myt aswell just take an add out in the paper datin we want rid,

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks like Vaz Te will probs be going to cardiff anyway so all a bit premature for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Aug 2013 09:07:47
you seem to be forgetting that you need a solid defence as well goals from up top. So if Sam continues to develop as he did last season with hopefully other players also developing the backline can easily help win the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

Irish Leeds Fan have a word with yourself pal do you really think we would get 8 or 10 mill for a championship right back that's paper talk son no matter how good he is. Drawing comparisons with Bale is laughable, Bale will become a marketed brand like Beckham and at Real Madrid global interest in him will go a long way to cover that ridiculous transfer fee. NO Prem club will pay 10 mill for Byram. The other poster who said a loan agreement would be better solution, if we had to lose him is right that's smart thinking. Listen I do get the statement that the board would make to all fans by keeping him and how it adds to building a young squad capable of survival in the top flight. Also how we have all seen our best players raided by other clubs over the last 8 years because of Bates and his board of yes men and how that has made us all fearful and pessimistic. So don't get me wrong it would be great if we could hang on to him and we don't need to cash in but I standby what I said. Hopefully Ross and Sam aren't going anywhere so let's make ER hostile and loud on Sat. #MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry grimsey but I never compaired bale to byram what I said and meant was byram had bale in his pocket all game when we played him along with the likes of lennon and zaha (10m) plus bale isn't worth half what real is offering either but as I said the stupid money been thrown around lately 3m or 4m would be a disgrace for byram even if he had only one season! NOT compairing but bale didn't exactly set the world a light the season b4 last did he just goes to show what an extra season or 2 can do for a player! but I agree with you we need all our youngsters together! I just thank god bates isn't in charge teams would be bidding 1m for byram and bates would accept no doubt about it!
oh well roll on sat can see us taking all 3 point MOT
point taken GRIMSEY peaceout!

Agree0 Disagree0

IRISH LEEDS FAN fair point mis read that post. I draw the same comparisons and ZAHA was made to look ordinary by Byram and as you rightly say he has nullified to some extent quite a few of the so called top players. I also agree that in light of other crazy money that's banded about currently that valuation may seem below market but I did say a realistic value. Any way where all Leeds aren't we? haha looking forward to giving Barton some on Sat! 3 points would be great as we would be top for a few hrs!!! Cheers fella

Agree0 Disagree0

Tell me, why would Leeds volunteer to lose the services of Byram, who is probably the best right back in the Championship?
