Tom ince is a good player no doubt but what I would say is rember that he is young and he might not progress at all as many players never progress would we b raving about him if he was 29 I mean rember how everybody thought david prutton was going to b a world beater for the england national side when he was young he just never progressed as so many players before him but even so its unlikely he will go to leeds unless we pay a lot of money personally I would prefer a 25 year old over a 21 year old who has more ability cheaper with cheaper wages cause buying tom ince would take up more of the transfer budget we need a strong group not single talents, single talents do not get teams promoated from that division i'd swap tom ince for 2 better players even if there a bit older as long as there not too old and also not over the hill

Agree1 Disagree1

First off, it's tough to believe that Leeds United will have a PL-style warchest this winter. Haigh & Co. are buying back Elland Road (according to all reports I've read), which costs about 15m.

I totally expect us to sign 1 or 2 players that require 7-digit transfer fees, but to spend 8m on a player is difficult to fathom.

Given that nearly all of the rumored players add width, will BmD keep the 5-3-2, revert to the 4-4-2 diamond, or change to a 3-5-2?

Agree1 Disagree0

A single talent supplemented by a hard-working squad is what gains promotion!
But I am prepared to rely on BMD's judgement.

It's all hypothetical at the mo -but if we had the means, I would definitely push the boat out for Ince. Chapel A

Read on the ssn that Tom Ince is a possible target even though prem clubs are chasing him, main reason being if he moves it has to be to a team not too far from Blackpool and I think we are a big enough club to compete against prem clubs with players like this if the money is there.

Also, we've enquired about Nahki Wells, not sure how much they would want though

Believable5 Unbelievable38

50% sell on fee for Liverpool so Blackpool will want big money for him. McD also demands players live within 25 miles of Leeds so he'd have to move to the area?

Agree2 Disagree0

As a club we are big enough to match a lot of Prem clubs but the Premiership is a massive pull and most players would rather play for a small club in the Prem than a big club in the Championship. However if this was on tv then that is a good sign, nice to see we're looking at quality players like Gradel and Ince etc

Leeds boss Brian McDermott is going to make a January bid for Blackpool winger Tom Ince. Tom wants to stay up north for family reasons, and with Leeds pushing for promotion, it's the perfect deal for him

Believable24 Unbelievable60

BMD looked very friendly with both Tom and Paul Ince and Paul is anxious to ensure that his son plays games.
Perfect statement of intent by the news owners!
Steve H.

Agree6 Disagree1

Dream on. Will take close to 10 million.

Agree1 Disagree2

We get linked to anyone who plays well against us but Brian and Paul are meant to be good pals and looked pretty friendly on boxing day, bit of banter between BM and Tom Ince, paddy kenny also had some banter at end of the match. Cardiff apparently offered eight million but Ince didn't want to go as it was too far from family, lad and his son were born in stockport, blackpool ain't too far from Leeds but can't see us splashing the cash for him. A mill or two maybe his contract is up in june so his value will have dropped but maybe better offers to come than LUFC, we'll see in four days!

Agree4 Disagree0

No way we could afford him or his wages,,

Agree8 Disagree1

{Ed003's Note - Does anyone honestly think he would join Leeds after the pathetic and disgusting abuse he got about his family on Boxing Day? Nah me neither,move on.}

Cant see us having any money at all this takeover seems a load of rubbish to keep us excited about the jan window until end of jan when nowts happend

Agree2 Disagree1

Yes why has it suddenly gone all quite on the takeover? Thought there was going to be money for BMD to bring in some quality during the Jan transfer window? Ince is quality would love to see us sign him but a load of Prem teams want him so I can't see it! I hope there is some money MOT.

Its not Jan yet and there's 31 days in Jan.

we are not going to spend 8 mil on 1 player and that's even if they let him go for that amount

Agree2 Disagree1

28 Dec 2013 19:50:57
takeover probably gone quiet because its complete just waiting for announcement . there as probably been no news leaked to anyone yet

Agree1 Disagree1

{Ed013's Note - The takeover is at the Football League awaiting approval. It is taking longer due to the Xmas holidays}

Why on earth would they tell everyone how much money is available? It simply doubles the price of targets.

Agree2 Disagree0

His contract is up in June so his value in Jan won't be anything like 8 or 10 million

Agree3 Disagree0

He would more likely go to everton in my opinion, they could off load that sick note gibson and replace him with Ince to push osman out of the side.

Always been the same with the FA/Football League. They expect the clubs to play a pile-up of games over Christmas but never work it themselves.

Ironically I was checking this site earlier and saw the rumour regarding Austin to Norwich for £3m. Whether this was made up I'm not sure but I have a friend who is a Norwich fan who said the same rumour to me about a week ago!

I would hope we don't sell Rudy as it gives out the total wrong image that yet again another captain has left and we no longer apparently a selling club! I have seen some comments about snap their hands off for £3m which for me is ridiculous! As much as good new signings are important, retaining your best players is just as if not more important. I bet there were many Liverpool fans licking their lips at potentially £50m for Suarez and now look at the lad and what he's doing! And rosco the same. imagine where we'd be if we took £2.5m for him from boro?

No amount of money (within reason) for your top players is worth it when your sitting in the playoffs approaching January. Selling ruddy would be a nightmare for me. I just hope the other poster and my mate have caught wind of a dodgy rumour and there's nothing in it!

MOT!

Couldn't agree more mate! Completely baffles me that people would take money for one of our best players. Teams are hardly ever able to replace good players at this level with anything better. Some folk are never happy. Keep our skipper! MOT

Agree3 Disagree0

It doesn't take a lot to come up with this rumour off the top of your head. The first thing Norwich/Leeds fans think is who is going from Leeds to Norwich and Austin and McCormack are the only two realistic answers. It's an obvious one to make up so I wouldn't take it seriously unless reported somewhere reputable. I trust the club not to sell our best players now

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope the 2nd response is correct and is does seem feasible - like I said, I'm hoping this rumour is just dead in the water! And agree with the first response that teams find it hard to replace players. especially there best players.

i would take 3 mil for Austin . we would get a better player for less than that. Austin as been quite good for us but there's too many times he will attempt to shoot when he's not really in the right position or shaped correctly to take the shot on and he rushes it, especially towards the back end of the match when we are putting pressure on.

Agree0 Disagree2

A better player than rudy for less than 3 mil, you should send your scouting cv to mcd we could do with you on the pay roll.
please name one realistic target for that money who can pass tackle, leed by example and boss a midfield as he can.

If anyone goes it should be clogger brown, doris norris, warnock, drury and 'andy cole' varney! (how many chances does the guy need to score!?) happy new year to all whites fans

Possible return for Lloyd Sam after his impressive NYRB season, loan move till early march in an effort to keep his fitness up and secure a place in Ghana world cup team. Currently in London due to the holiday period, will give us cover until we sign winger/if we fail to sign wingers.

Believable5 Unbelievable70

28 Dec 2013 06:51:28
No chance we are resigning Sam .

Agree1 Disagree1

Mike Petke doesn't want his players leaving on loan, wants an off season with everyone together

Agree0 Disagree0

Just as much as any other winger! Right kind of player who knows about the club and wants to play internationally. Kind of makes sense :-/ especially if Redbull were to be involved in a takeover, but even without that b******* still possible. Doubt it, would like to see him play looking at his performances over the last season but don't think it'll happen, up there with gradel, becchio and every other person that we've let go over the last few seasons.

Agree1 Disagree0

I seen Lloyd Sam at white rose yesterday with his mrs doing there shopping so this could be true
