Leeds lose chance in signing shaun wright phillips

Believable26 Unbelievable69

Good!even if we were actually in for him!

Agree1 Disagree2

Good, he's no better than Varney, rarely scores, cannot cross a ball and runs down blind alleys

Agree1 Disagree1

He could nt lace max gradels boots

How can you lose someone you were never after?

Agree1 Disagree0

Phew! Lucky escape if true. SWP is mediocre -a lover of blind alleys. Would be even more ineffective in the higher tempo, more physical Champ than in the Prem. Chapel A

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't have seen him comming, not up to our standards anyway.

Leeds have rejected the chance to sign Jerome Thomas.

Believable27 Unbelievable54

Good, not sure he's the answer. Can be a dangerous player when he wants to but we need more than players who play well only when they fancy it.

Agree2 Disagree0

No we haven't? We asked but they want him.

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish west brom won't let him leave in loan they want him quite from warnock

What on earth does this mean?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is meant to say 'quote from Warnock'

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he meant" quote from Warnock, " Which it was. Your probably clutching at straws because there is nothing to cause mass hysteria this week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure he's the answer either. A good debut game, a great pass to Becchio v Chelsea; apart from that, struck me as very lightweight, frequently fading to invisibility. Chapel A

So Wornock turns down a top winger Target cause he thinks it is not the right time to bring someone in now! Now I think the time is perfect to fetch in an outlet of pace out wide to feed the strikers. Never mind lads next season he want be here and neither will his mates varney and brown. The man's a joke he's lost the plot. Mot.

Believable53 Unbelievable22

I actually do not agree with your sentiment on this we may not be playing great football right now but I feel we have found the best balance in the team now and our recent performances have shown a good improvement, so I feel it is best to not disturb the team balance now with another player, Thomas was not that good when we had him and I think Varney is now coming in to his own so I feel leaving the team as it is right now is the best thing, unless we splashed out on some real class player.

Agree2 Disagree0

Stop talking crap mate. Varney has been superb all season. OK a couple of early games he a little bit dodgy but stop jumping on the bandwagon and saying he rubbish. I've missed a few games this season cause of travelling and apart frrom Byram and Lees there's not a lot to shout about! Although I always thought Green could be a classy player off the striker cause he killed us 2-3 yrs back 1st game of season.

Agree1 Disagree0

Brown can go but Varney is a decent player in a good system as he's shown in the last couple of games. We are too quick to slag players off, Rody Austin being a prime example. Legend at the start of the season donkey now, no regard to the fact that he played a full season before our pre-season with no break and then was injured. All he needs is a rest and you will see a new man next season. I've got every faith in him. MOT Ron.

Agree1 Disagree0

Brown has done us well this season, you're talking rubbish

Agree1 Disagree0

Some people on here astound me. We are going through our second buyout in a matter of months because the existing owners to not have sufficient capital to move the club forward.

Do you really think the that Warnock would turn these players down, or have you just thought for a second that he does have the money to pay their wages.

Could it be possible that he has said what he has because it is better than having anarchy in the stands at every game.

For those people not commercially minded just think of it like this, do you upgrade your car when you can't afford to or do you stick with what you and service it well?

We have 12 games to go, let's all get focused on what we can do help, not bleat on about what could be. We are where we are, let's get behind Warnock and his team for the rest of the season and hope for the best.

To CORKWHITE no one said Varney had not played well it was said that Varney was now coming in to his own with the system we have employed over the last few games, please read the posts properly before you slate peoples comments!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, Varney is playing OK and Brown is just doing the job he is being asked to do.

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney and brown to go? fair enough brown will be too old next season but he has been solid this season in a poor midfield and varney has really come into his own these past few weeks and we are playing some of the best stuff I have seen this season! get behind neil and the boys!

"Brown has done us well this season, you're talking rubbish"

You've obviously been watching a different Brown to me, mate, all I've seen him do is try and kick people off the park and get himself sent off.

At least the likes of Bremner and Hunter could play some football while they were doing it. {Ed013's Note - So when have you seen this? Brown has played well in a poor team}

Agree0 Disagree1

I find it strange. All season NW has expressed the desire to bring in a big name and also we are crying out for a wide man with pace - a winger - Chris Burke et al. Why has he now stopped this pursuit when we are on the verge of mounting an assault on the play off positions and the acquistion of this type of player would be significant. I suggest his financial hands are tied by GFH's short or maybe long term furure

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown was kept on this season as a squad player, who has played a few more games than Warnock probably expected, but injuries, and loss of form have dictated that. Get off his, and everyone elses back. I mean. Its not like you actually know what your talking about is it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we're talking about the wrong players. The player who's most struck me this season as being extremely limited as a footballer is Austin, for whom I cannot see any future in a team with aspirations. I also think Norris, for all his willing harrying, is limited, and will not help propel us into the next echelon. Brown and Varney do actually look like footballers, in that they possess a decent range of basic skills, and know what to do with the ball -which is not to say that they are answer long-term, Brown being too old, of course, and Varney being neither fish nor fowl (neither true striker nor winger) -but that is a different point. Austin, nice bloke though he may be, should not, in my view, be anywhere near the first team (and, from what I've seen, I'm afraid I'd put the hapless Haribo in the same category). Chapel A

Ive lost the plot

looks like the plot thickens as warnock turns down the chance to sign his top target on loan! Sounds like he has changed his mind about icing on cake. I cannot remember how many times that man has talked about targets this and targets that and when his so called top target (winger I think) is offered on a plate the man from sheffield he says no! Beggars beleif. Yes our form has picked up a bit we still need the service for our strikers to score I don't get it.

Believable26 Unbelievable7

I must admit, it is a bit strange, I feel like we could do with a midfielder who will chip in with goals aswell as providing a creative spark to feed the forwards! But I suppose if they were that good they wouldn't be available anyway??

Agree0 Disagree0

I obviously don't know but i'm guessing that this icing was a little too expensive for this cake.

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree, we can still play the 4-3-3 formation but just swap Varney with a new loan winger, therefore does not change the shape of the team. I know Varney's been playing decent lately but there are much better wingers out there, even in the loan market!

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Feb 2013 19:01:16
I guess the player or his club wanted a guarantee he'd start every game and as the team are on a good run Warnock couldn't do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swap Varney? he's been best player in last few games so get off the bandwagon, honestly being a Leeds fan myself some of the comments on here makes me disappointed to be associated with some of the other Leeds fans. Same with brown he has been better than Austin all season, but because Austin is younger and looked good on Youtube he's a hero, nice logic.

Looks like we ain't getting anymore players in. Would of loved a pacy forward/winger even if just needed as an impact sub. Never mind I still think we got a 5 or 6/1 chance of top 6. I've had bigger winners than that this week alone! MOT.

I think we found a winning formula and also our bench looks a bit better a lot of players who can make a massive impact. Just worrying if players like varney tonge and lees get injured because the replacements seem more impact than starters.
