West Brom's Simon Cox will sign next week for around £350,000 to spearhead the attack with McCormack who will be staying. Beckford's not coming due to his greedy wages

Paulo

Believable9 Unbelievable8

Yeh u certainly are "in the know" aren't u, we get cox for 350k even thou Blackburn have bid 2mil for him. If your gonna spread muck at least make it decent stuff

Agree0 Disagree0

So hope that Ross McCormack stays....not so bothered by Simon Cox...but need McCormack to stay!

Agree0 Disagree0

You might want to run the numbers again. The buy fee will be much more than that. Blackburn & Celtic leading the chase for this lad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cox is going to Blackburn mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

350k? like us to get him but mate don't post lies, he's a 2m man minimum

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm pretty sure that its got to be at least a 1 million plus offer if we want him

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow that's a bargain seen as Blackburn just offered 2 million

Apparently its Bolton! because they lost hoilet to qpr...M.O.T

Papers reckon it's Blackburn but you never know

Going to Blackburn

Agree0 Disagree0

According to ssn, Blackburn are the ones leading the chase. If cheap would be a great bit of business for championship level
BC

Agree0 Disagree0

He's gone to Blackburn.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn bid for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Blackburn made the bid not Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

The club that he wished to join is Celtic. They have been in discussions with him for weeks. {Ed007's Note - As far as I know Celtic have not spoken to the player.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Ed, I can assure you they have and that they wish to proceed further. {Ed007's Note - Oh well you never said you were assuring me. You do know wished is past tense don't you?}

To guys went out 4 a day with family and guess who is there lee Peltier, his wife and two kids.
Must of been in Leeds for the day or maybe signing a contract with nw. I wouldn't be surprised if he was a Leeds player in the next few days

Mot

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Don't expect any signings before the team fly out to Norway. NW stated after the match on Friday that it will be unlikely to have any new faces before they depart.
But then he did add 'but you never know' at the end.

LUST opening their mouths again hitting out at the investors, more chance youll put them off if you dont shut up and be patient, bunch of d**ks.

Believable12 Unbelievable7

This is not wise from LUST. Not only for what original poster is saying, but it isn't complete, they are not the owners yet. One minute theyr'e asking the fans to be patient in one statement, next minute they're ripping into the potential new investors. It's inconsitent and unprofessional.

A few thousand members don't necessarily represent the feelings of an entire club and its fan base.

Agree2 Disagree0

Well said!!! o.w

Agree0 Disagree0

Do you not realise that we the fans are the bread and butter of this great club. Without us there would be no LUFC. So wanting to know if things are still goin in the right direction, is not to much to ask. Doin this with one voice, just might get us the answear we need.
I pay good money and would like to know, like everyone else, what this money is actually paying for. The Bates foundation or the new unnamed owners. Who hopefully sometime soon will reveal themselfs to us.
Remember, we have a right to know, we've been around alot longer than these people and will still be here when they've gone. WE ARE LUFC!
mot4life

Agree0 Disagree1

I have to agree, LUST could well be doing more harm than good with these outbursts.
If I was one of the investors I would have had a few doubts after LUST's demands, which is what they most certainly sound like.
From day one since the club announced they were in investment talks, LUST have been making snide comments whilst trying to appear courteous even towards Bates. Its about time LUST listened to its own advice and be patient.
MaltaWhite

Agree1 Disagree0

Properbly the most unprofessional statement I have ever seen from any supporters club. I am glad they don't represent me.

Agree1 Disagree0

They're asking the club to give the fans more information, not hitting out at the investors.

Agree0 Disagree1

No, don't think a few hotheads in a supporters trust will put off serious businessmen, if they come and it's still an IF they will have to be more thick skinned than that

Agree0 Disagree1

They need to crawl back under the rock they came from. They aren't even very intelligent people, they do not understand business, if they do have their own businesses they can't be very successful or they would be buying the club would they not!!

Keep quiet let things take their course.

Leigh

Agree1 Disagree0

Totally agree-lusts statement is that of a small child shouting until it gets what it wants. who the hell appointed them spokespeople for Leeds. the voice of lust is from humberside as well not even a yorkshireman. hope the keep their big mouths shut from now on and hope to hell they don't get a place on the board

Agree1 Disagree0

LUST think they know everything but they know sod all just like the rest of us.

Agree0 Disagree0

The might speak for you but not for the majority. they are on the make and muppetts!! o.w

Agree0 Disagree0

They have not criticised the investors at all...by implication they are criticising bates...come on people read what people say not what you want to believe

ramblin jack

Agree0 Disagree0

Paying money gives you know right to know what a business does with its income. have you written to Kelloggs or barbie to find out what they do with the money you splash out on cornflakes and dolls? didn't think so. the trust are self important bates wannabes. Leeds United is better off without both of them.

Cooper was the man who got the New owners lofl pmsl. .. Lust a joke dont represent me and many other thousand of Leeds fans! There just a bunch of gorillas who think they sing bates out during a game will do the club some good lofl pmsl. I hate bates and i hate lust. Im not lust Im not bates Im Leeds united. with or with out bates. You cant tell me how much to support my team. Cooper your as much of a liar as bates is!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lust are power mad and only in it for themselves. They dont represent me. Im sure all they will ever do is put people off.

Id like to see Lust put their hands in their pockets and buy a player for Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

If the guys at LUST had any brains, they would have said nothing at all. Who they are criticising is irrelevant, because if they want the deal to go through, then criticising either side can only do harm. Whoever makes the decisions around there wants sacking.

Does anyone realise we have probably the best striker in the league in the form of McCormack. We need to keep him, he got 4th top scorer last year and the three above him are now in the prem, he had basically no service during the season and will get even more with the calibre of midfielders we now have to supply him. There are no strikers that have come down are better except fletcher who looks as though he is leaving wolves. Need to keep him because if he hours to another championship side he'll come back to haunt us.

JackTheWhite

Believable10 Unbelievable9

I could not agree more with you, thank god some one was looking at the full Team like me and not a individual.

He got most of his goals by him self, he could get the 20+ mark easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said....like you say, with good play-makers behind him, he should be the hitman of the championship this season

Agree0 Disagree0

He's not the best in the division by any means, i do like him though, he could be a very decent impact player but he doesn't seem to want to play that part

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe warnock could play him down the middle. he was used as a winger back end of last season and didnt score many. also a fully fit becchio could get 18+ and a fit somma could come on and get 12 easily.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah but he wont sign i think we still need another striker even if we do keep him though.I would like to see him get more chances to shoot from range because he got a rocket of a shot.

The old Sheffield Utd link to Warnock has come up again. Heard on the LUFC grapevine that Warnock's going back for a quality midfielder to get Stephen Quinn £500,000's apparently....welll worth this! He was the best player in the Play-off Final for Sheffield United in their defeat to Huddersfield Town. He's only 26yrs of age to so got a lot more football to impove even better too! :D Marching On Together! Would love to see Gradel back too, McCormack re-signed, and quality players like , Maynard, DJ Campbell, Boyd & Mackail-Smith signed up too! Come on Leeds Unite make it happen, sign up some quality!! :-D

Believable11 Unbelievable6

I doubt this. We have alot of midfield players. White, Brown, Green, Norris, Austin, Pugh, Thompson, and Warnock said that he plans to play Varney on the left. Then we have Poleon who looks good at the moment, although he will probabily only be gaining experience this season. I have been wrong before though. Evo

Agree0 Disagree0

And just where would you play all of those in 3 places ? Cant see Max rejoining, but seen as Snoddy is gone he should be made number one target

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to say this but ive watched SUFC for the last 30yrs and must say Steven Quinn is really overated . Hes a bit of a headless chicken , lightweight and rarely looks comfortable on the ball . On the plus side he will always give you 100 percent and never hides . Good luck to him if he leaves cant blame him for joining a top team like Leeds .

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus D ... we'll definitely need rich new owners to fulfil your dreams ... Quinn, Gradel, McCormack, Maynard, Campbell, Boyd, and Mackael-Smith. I'd be over the moon with just three off that list ...Quinn, Gradel and Mackael-Smith.

Umm, you would have to pay at least 4mil to get CMS, as poyet will not want to sell his marquee signing from last year, as it would send a bad message to brighton players and potential signings.

Stephen QUINN in from Sheffield Utd. (£500,000)

I feel we now need to show all these new signings, that have committed themselfs to are wonderfull club. The reason why, it is a privaledge to play and pull on the mighty white shirt. We will leave them with more than a wet appetite. We will leave them with a thirst for more.

Although Warnock has said Varney is replacing Snodgrass's position. I don't feel it means varney will play wide, instead i think he will play behind the striker as attacking mid/ centre forward in a free role.

Ed, I remember you saying the other night that you heard the people involved in the takeover were in Leeds. Just wondered whether you had heard anymore news? I know it was mentioned on the web yesterday that things would be completed within the next two weeks, but that is something which appears to have been mentioned a few times previously. {Ed020's Note - i think its a case of ramadam is taking place, so if anything is needing to be comeplete, its that, thats stunting the completion}

Believable5 Unbelievable4

There are exceptions to the usual Ramadan rules:

certain athletes are allowed to perform in the Olympics
you can eat during the day if travelling

..also the working day is generally until around 1pm so this deal can still get done this 4 week period

Leicester rumours about Beckford going to Leeds pretty strong. Source close to player tells he is really keen on coming back, and has stated so in public.

Wage demand an obvious obstacle, I cannot imagine NW blow the clubs wage structure to meet his current fee.

Beckfords popularity in Leicester not the best,
lots of fans wish him gone. Personally I don't think they realize what they got - proven goalscorer, killer in the box, capable of hitting 25+ in any club in any division if they let him play!

Would love to see him back! Bring Beckford and Gradel home, NW - their departures did not leave the scars prodused by Johnson, Howson and Snoddy - fans and expectations would reach the sky, and we would care the s*** of the Canary batalion!

Believable8 Unbelievable4

When will you guys wake up and realise that Beckford is massively overrated.
His first touch is absolutely awful. He can't beat a man with the ball at his feet. His support play is non-existent and he'll destroy the dressing room.
He's a one-trick-pony. Granted, it's a good trick but when he's not scoring he's a liability and the team may as well play with ten men on the pitch.
Short memories abound because when he went through a lean spell in Div 1, there was a miniature civil war; in the dressing room, in the stands, on the pitch... as to whether he should be left on the bench or not.
I, for one, would not like to see Beckford back at Leeds.
He believes himself to be something he is most certainly not. That is why even a genius of a manager like Moyes decided to get shot as quickly as possible.
Beckford's trouble we don't need at Leeds. There's a serious, professional goal this season.
Primadonna Div 1 novelty strikers are NOT what will see us into the Premiership.

Agree0 Disagree1

Kinda see what your saying
not sure what you mean by scars when they all left the club in the same way.johnson was treated disgracefully by bates in the matchday programme though.good luck to snoddy playing with his old team mates.
ts

Agree0 Disagree0

I will drive him back to Leeds myself, 1 overrated primadona, no first touch, no quality in ball control or shooting ( goals per shots ratio) and certainly not worth 10k a week let alone 30k

Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders is optimistic he is close to improving his squad amid reports the club want to sign Leeds United striker Billy Paynter.

Saunders is set to create room in his budget for new signings by offloading George Friend after a fee was agreed with Middlesbrough for the defender.

The Rovers boss wants to build a squad capable of securing an immediate return to the Championship and feels he is on the brink of making a signing.

"I'm hoping to do a couple of deals over the next day or two," said Saunders.

Leeds forward Paynter, who was placed on the transfer list at the end of last season, has been heavily linked with a move to the Keepmoat Stadium.

The 28-year-old has scored just three times in 27 league appearances since joining from Swindon Town in 2010 and was sent to Brighton on loan last season.
