BRIGHTON boss Gus Poyet wants Newcastle midfielder Alan Smith to join his big mate Steve Harper on the south coast.
The veteran keeper, 36, signed for the Seagulls on a month’s loan earlier this week and Smith could follow him.
But the former England man, whose Toon contract ends next summer, is also interesting West Ham and former club Leeds.

Newcastle trying to get rid. Fact is neither West Ham nor Leeds are interested.
We have zac thompson waiting in the wings in that position if howson or clayton are unavailable, smith is not even on the radard anymore.
absolute non starter this rumour.
Even if we were, the eternal wage level would be a problem.
Why would smith go back to leeds brighton on the up leeds going down to back where they belong
Why do we even want smith back anyway? hes injury prone so he'll sit out more games than he plays. he's less than a shadow of the player he used to be, we've got bacon face to thank for that his wages would be a massive waste, we could get 2-3 better players with his wages. he would not be a good addition to the squad.
Gus as had a bump to the head fisrt paynter now he's after smith
Brighton on the way up ? , aren't Leeds above you in the league ?. You MUPPET
Why the hell is this on LEEDS site?

mate your typing skills and literacy skills are clearly poor...i'll just clarify to everyone what you meant...Why would smith go to brighton, leeds are on the way up to where they belong and brighton are going back down back to where they belong
Keep living in the past how long ago was it? but then your a propper big club
Why should Leeds fans think of where Alan Smith is going? As long as it is not back to us, then who cares?
