Just back from the game and yes there was strong rumours that Becchio is going to Hull, i cant see that personally but still cannot understand why he was on the bench and when we make a sub like for like we bring on Varney. I feel NW was tactically naive again, we were second to every ball, there was no passion, no fight, no passing, no running into spaces, Varney comes on at half time and looks knackered on 55 mins, every team is allowed an off day but ours are coming far too often. I don't know what the solution is whether its a new manager or yet another overhaul of the team apart from Byram and McCormack there was nothing but empty shirts out there.

Why put varney on at all.... both thomas and becchio on bench and diouf for that matter.... absolute garbish game all round no positives can be taken from.it

Agree1 Disagree0

Becchio was ready to go on any time today. He was warming up on the touchline through the first half and was doing the same down to his shorts in the second. Rearing to go so why didn't he put him on?
Somma looked lost in the first half
while Varney got another run out on the wings in the second half as his replacement - barmy!
No width at all with Thomas and Hall keeping the bench warm and no service to the strikers...
Another poster says Brown to sign contract extension. He's not worth the bother and just iritates everyone with his bad tackling and mouthing off at everyone. He got himself booked today for refusing to leave the pitch while he was being treated for a 'bleeder'. All that did was crank up the Hull supporters to louder levels. Bad day at the office and over an hour getting out of the car park

Agree0 Disagree0

Bechio off to norwich

Agree0 Disagree0

He s not moving warnock said he will not sell him at all even if people offer money.
But if they offer good money I don't no.
It would be a sad day to see him leave.

Agree1 Disagree0

Becchio's on 4 yellows that's the reason

our best team?

Agree0 Disagree1

Yeah becchio is on 4 yellows but he sat out today's game wud it not of been better to play today and poss get 1 game ban v Bolton which ever way look at it he missed a game

Agree1 Disagree0

It made no sense to leave becchio out even with the yellow cards, if he got booked he would miss 1 game through suspension, but with leaving him out today he missed a game anyway, makes no sense at all,

Agree2 Disagree0

Total lack of any ideas most passes went back to Kenny no width or flare, Warnock is lost and time for the new owners to bring in fresh ideas, RDM please.

Agree1 Disagree0

Becchio didn't play because if he got booked he would have the Bolton game

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2012 20:47:28
Neil said after the game that becchio had picked up a knock and was on 4 yellows, he wont be sold if he was gfh could kiss goodbye to getting the fans back on side

Agree1 Disagree0

Warnock admitted Becchio, doufy, Thomas all causing knocks so did not want to risk it playing them with Bolton game on Saturday. Wanted to rest them so they not out for longer by playing them with niggles. Makes sense but both Becchio and Thomas warmed up today and looked fine to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

If hthis yellow card thing was the reason, why was he even on the bench then? surely he'd have been left out altogether if this yellow card thing is true.

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds Utd were lucky it wasn't about 6 nil today but only for Kenny the display was very concerning, if there is no real changes the season is over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think green had a good game

Agree2 Disagree0

Warnock is rotating his squad especially over this period. Thought whilst things didnt go to plan for Somma he looked a little bit fitter. I think Warnock has picked the games we should win and the games where we might struggle. Bolton is a game we need to take 3 points so left players on bench that will play. Those who think Kenny is the goal keeper Warnock thinks he is need to look carefully because yes he makes saves but then lets ones in you think he should have done better. The first goal today went in the far post on the angle so if he gets his angles right should save and the second came from a corner because he touched the ball round the post when it was already on the byeline a foot from the post so would have been a goal kick. Dont get me wrong he isnt a bad keeper but I dont think he is any better than the ones we got rid of ie Lonergen , Kasper , Ankregren etc. I think he now needs to decide whether to use 3 at the back or not and not pick and chose the games. If you play 3 you need to do it regular and it will come plus Byram and possibly White are suited to that formation even though White wouldnt even be on the bench for me. To the pessamists I think we are probably 2-3 players short because if you get a talker in to lead that makes a difference. I think we need a CB, CM and striker, Tate worrying me at minute and looks another MIchalik.

Agree2 Disagree0

Irritating. We do need a CB, a LB, a CM, a striker, pace and leadership...
This is no different from the position we were in last season.
Warnock to be shown the door, in my book. He's done nothing to improve the team.
Nothing at all.
Why does anyone think RDM could do a job as a manager?
As naieve as Warnock's team selection.

Agree1 Disagree0

What? The Bolton game is on Saturday? I had planned to go to ER on Tuesday. Thanks for the heads up.....
Please don't tell me the venue is now the Reebok as well!

Swansea defender Alan Tate will remain on loan at Leeds until next summer. In a National paper today

Believable40 Unbelievable11

Oh dear, surely now the takeover has happened and we have some money we can do better then him.

Agree2 Disagree0

I hope not he is nearly as bad as Pearce. Surely we can do better? Or is true that these guys haev no money either

Agree0 Disagree0

Tates had 2 bad games.. yet you say hes rubbish? whats wrong with you. hes a good player and would be a good signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get real people. Retaining loan signings is not going to win matches. We need quality players who can win us matches and get our negative goal difference into the black. Ryan Hall is expected to sign on a permanent deal. Whoopee. He can't even get into to team. At first NW said he wasn't fit enough. What's the excuse now. Not good enough but has real potential. Potential for what? Playing in the reserves or playin in in a lower league. NW has bought players he can trust. Eg Kenny, Brown, Tonge etc. what does that mean? Good for the payroll but certainly not good enough to get us up the league. Who are our scouts if all we buy is NW mates from he previous teams. NW can get us promoted but I ask, how many teams has NW not got promoted or even got relegated? Guys don't pin your hopes on Jan., cause we need to build a team, who can play a way that wins matches and is hard to beat.

Agree0 Disagree0

When Tate had helped us win 5 out of 6, everyone here was singing his praises about how he's the calibre of defender we needed.

All of a sudden now, everyone has turned on him.

This sums up the problem with most Leeds fans at the moment. There is no loyalty to the team. For some reason, everyone's first instinct when something goes wrong is to get rid of them. Success comes from longevity, and longevity comes from trust. The team is always going to have bad games from time to time - it happens to everyone. I don't think that the Hull game is enough in comparison to all the games we won, to start criticising Tate and Warnock.

To be honest, I despair more for LUFC when I read some of the fans' comments than I do when I watch them lose.

Supposidly becchio was on bench today because he is rumoured to be going to hull

Believable7 Unbelievable69

If he was to go I would have thought he be going to a premier club for more then Hull would pay

Agree0 Disagree0

Where would they get the money from to pay for him Their chairman is as tight as Bates

Agree0 Disagree0

More likely that his yellow cards are cleared after this match and as he was a yellow card off a ban and this was likely to protect him from a ban

Agree0 Disagree0

Steve Bruce said on Radio Humberside that Becchio will not be signing for Hull. He has his sights on Frazier campbell from Sunderland

Agree0 Disagree0

Betfair has good odds on him off to Celtic

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted this before. Celtic were after him a couple of years ago but cooled off. Now that Wanyama is likely to go to Man U, Becchio might be tempted.
Personally, I'd be tempted, too. Playing in the Champion's league is a hearty step up from the Championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hulls chairman payed 40 million worth of debt off and then spent 2.6 million on 1 striker hardly sounds tight. hull is a club with no debt a good manager and an even better league position were as leeds are skint evn the new owners have said there isnt much wedge

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will find that what the new owners said is that they won't be spending SILLY money in january . Leeds is a club with no debt , a good manager , STILL a good lge position , and promised funds for warnock in jan .and celtic post , 2 games in the champions lge is not a hearty step from the championship, because thats all celtic have left .one more thing, we are still the BIGGEST club outside the prem , MOT

I hear leeds are negotiating with Michelle brown for him to sign a new five year deal aswell as paddy kenny MOTleeds21

Believable12 Unbelievable66

Michelle brown will do a better job than michael brown, the lad is not a 90 min footballer, begiining to wonder about kenny

Agree0 Disagree0

They were awful today, werent they! I just dont understand how Kenny can instill Warnock's confidence

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown's 35 y would they give him a 5 year deal?

Agree1 Disagree0

Original poster you're about as funny as the performance today

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of both rubbish players i dont rate them at all bring back shimicheal for nets and midfield bring back bradley johnson

warnock in post match interveiw said 1
or 2 new players in january. im told 1 is
joe cole for 2.3mil, other believed to be
a premier league left back. jim.

Believable9 Unbelievable49

One or two isnt enough. we need eight or nine no question

Agree0 Disagree0

We defo need midfielders, , ill say round 6 players at LEAST?

Agree1 Disagree0

I say a new 11 and Joe Cole is another over-paid, over-the-hill crock of sh*t

Agree0 Disagree0

Cole has got more talent in him than the whole of our midfield put together, dont knock the lad, if we have a sniff at him (unlikely) we should snap him up

Agree0 Disagree0

Going to QPR

Agree0 Disagree0

Joe cole is on 60k a week. Couldn't afford his wages even if he took a 50% pay cut.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's on 85k a week at liverpool, not even worth half of that utter crap at prem level. Although he's flair would be too much to handle at champ level, get him on loan tillend of season for 20% of his wages {Ed001's Note - his wages include a significant amount for a signing bonus paid out over the length of his contract. Liverpool and Cole are currently negotiating a pay off to end that and so remove it from his wages. So his wages would be around the 70k mark, with that removed.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The new owners need to act immediately, get a top notch manager in and give them £8 million to spend next month

I would get Gus Poyet back

Believable56 Unbelievable31

Not top notch yet, but will be in the future

Agree0 Disagree0

There clearly is not 8 million to spend.
If you read Warnocks column in the Independent, we can't afford the likes of Chris Wood and he hopes to make some of the loan signings permanent, thats it. We will just about remain in the Championship, no chance of play offs with the likes of Brown and Austin in midfield, both are awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnock had his chance. In addition he is not in it for the long term. For the sake of loyal Leeds fans this mediocre football has to end. GFH must see that any more money given to a manager who has no idea who is best team is after a year and employs such tacit tics which entail hoofing the ball up in the air and do not make his team go out and pass the ball is a recipe for disaster. Time to go and time for proper football to come back to Elland Road.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we're lucky enough to even go up reckon we'd be straight bk down without a major overhaul

Agree0 Disagree0

I would go with Di Matteo and he is avaliable now. Unfortunately we dont have 8 million and I doubt he would come for much less.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree with OP, calling Mr Poyet, come home Eddie Munster

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd like a manager with eyebrows, hard to trust a man with no eyebrows...

If Warnock were to be sacked, who, realistically, would you want as his replacement? Paolo Di Canio for me!

Believable32 Unbelievable40

De matteo, hollaway, not realistic but question was who id WANT! rj

Agree0 Disagree0

Poyet, Coyle, O'Leary, Strachan. Zola. Di Matteo. possibly Di Canio. Someone who plays attractive attacking football. Sick of drab long ball!

Agree0 Disagree0

Either Gus Poyet (at least his side play good attacking football) or Roberto De Mateo....

Agree1 Disagree0

Who's gonna want t b next leeds boss when you keep gettin sacky sacky and your own fans turn against the manager, along with players and even ex players

Agree0 Disagree0

Simon Grayson for me!!

Agree0 Disagree3

Roberto Di Matteo assisted by Gus Poyet

Agree0 Disagree0

We should bring in a new manager with a fresh approach and a creative style of play, which in turn means a total overhaul of players. We need a manager at the helm with a vision for the long term, so sorry warnock thats not you. We are not mobile enough nor have the technical ability to create chances from open play, with the ball on the deck.
MOT!

Agree0 Disagree0

No, No, No!Why Di Canio!? People only think he's any good because he is a character and then he should automatically become a great manager. Nothing to say that he won't be, but I think right now Leeds cannot afford to gamble, otherwise with the squad we have we will go down!
For me it would be Roberto D.M.. I think he is a quality manager and would do a great job with us.

However I do think that for the time being we should stick with Warnock. Give him time to get in any players he wishes. If in one or two windows we are still awful then look at a change, but he hasn't had a chance using any money from GFH.

Agree1 Disagree1

Not sure who but it's plain to see that warnock is not the man for the job,

Agree0 Disagree0

Someone who can have them playing football hopefully as opposed to the baring ass hoof ball s**t raging with the result again today i kno hull r good bt jesus that was awfull, michael brown seriously needs to pack his bags

There was about three thousand at todays game who could not do any worse

Di Canio is a good shout, at least we would get some passion! or get Eddie Gray back in, bring some kids on at least we might see some pride in the shirt.

Agree0 Disagree1

Di Matteo for me. He is avaliable. We need someone now.

Agree0 Disagree0

You only sack a manager if you can guarantee a better one, id give di matteo a shout

Agree0 Disagree0

Roberto Di Matteo or Alan Curbishley both have record of getting teams out of this division. I cannot see Poyet leaving Brighton

warnock needs to go hes had 40+ games at leeds and not even won 20 games in all competition . our team doesn't even resemble a team at the moment

I'd like to Roberto Martinez in charge

Agree0 Disagree0

I vote for 7th poster as manager. Absolutely spot on assessment!

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy davies?

Agree0 Disagree0

Di canio or give grayson another go with investment

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed with 7th poster also so wold go for Poyet or Hoddle

Agree0 Disagree0

Poyet or Hoddle

Agree0 Disagree0

The dream ticket of Peter Ried and Brian Robson!

Hang on I would rather have Warnock. To be fair I think hes doing the best he can with the players he has got. If he had more money he wouldnt be playing the players he does. Unfortunately too I dont think hes going to get much more either. I hope Im wrong on that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Karl Robinson!

Agree0 Disagree0

HODDLE ??
hear comes the yellow van and the straight jacket

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope i am not disabled in my next life for saying that about Hoddle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally, I'd have oleary back, did a fantastic job last time and was forced out of a job due to poor financial management of the club, (and the fact he was ploughin grays daughter) but given the right resources, a stable financial situation and a good amount of time to implement his ways we would be a solid prem team again, I don't know if we'd top the league as we did before but he could get us there and keep us there

Agree0 Disagree0

Bring back George Graham as a defensive coach...

Agree0 Disagree0

Jose Mourinho

Agree0 Disagree0

I have been a leeds fan for 40 years. Think I may give up. What has happened this once great club of ours. We are a championship club and unless we buy better players we will always be at best a championship club. Im really disgusted that we can be turned over too easily. We are too inconsistent. We concced goals too easily. Somebody needs to get a grip of this team before its too late.we dont seem to have any ambition.

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt we'll sign Thomas, we should and I wish we would, but why would he want to sign, NW shown no faith in him at all. If I were him I'd be thinking, do they want me or not? If they do why do they put me on the bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

I watched the last two games on the box and have to say i was embarrassed.

Why, I am not sure, I have done nowt wrong

But those players, if they are not embarrassed then they need shooting. and If I was manager and saw the forest highlight and saw Brown and Kenny laughing at 4-1, they would not put on a shirt for me again.

We lost both games in midfield, we dont have one, we cant pass, cant keep the ball, dont pass and move, have no pace. All means one way traffic with the back four overrun and outnumbered.

How do we fix it, well here's my stab

Brown, slow, totally past it and you cant survive on a football brain alone, thats only any good if your passing on that knowledge to a young un, which he aint.

Austin, still too unfit post injury, needs a midfielder alongside who will go forward, not one like Brown, which leaves him do both the attacking stuff and the last gasp defending.

Green, A tryer and works hard, I would have him in centre mid

Byram, great season but feeling the pressure I think, right midfield for me.

Norris, just not sure about him tbh

Diouf, worth a try in centre mid with Green for me, at least he can holg the ball and pass. Also has the skill to beat a player.

Thomas/Hall on the left wing

Up front Becs and Ross, our best two forward but I would keep giving Somma 20 to 30 mins

Back four, christ where do you start

CB Well for me Tate has the pedigree I suppose and experience

CB Lees/Pearce better one of the two to partner Tate

LB Drury, gotta give the guy a go, I thought he did ok against Forest tbh

RB Pelts, lets just play him where he is used to playing, gotta be better than LB

GK, Hard to blame kenny with the way the 10 fools in front have performed in the last 180 minutes of fine fine play but christ, Ashdown is worth a go tbh.

well thats my opinion with what we have.

Either bring in more quality or use the rest of the season to blood some more youth, the kids wont let us down and i am sure THEY are proud to wear the shirt

MOT
Excroggywhite

Agree0 Disagree0

Fully agree with excroggywhite.......
my stab would be slightly different away from home.... i would go with 4-5-1
to try and get a foothold in midfield so we dont get over run at the back....
and play green, rudy and norris

Agree0 Disagree0

Excroggywhite - at last!

I have been wondering about Diouf at CM too. He is our only player who can actually pass, and doesn't have the pace to play further forward. I think that him playing up front is a waste, because everything he does up front, Ross can do faster, but no-one can play the ball in CM. Surely he would solve that problem?

I would say pretty much spot on with the rest of the team.

I think that Lees and Pearce are both class defenders, and that Tate is needed to help them develop, but eventually, they could be a fantastic pairing. The defence is generally better than its made out to be, but they get put under far too much pressure because of our lack of possession. If midfield could hold the ball more, then our defence would be under a lot less pressure, and then they would deal with every attack better, and would have more time to deal with them. We would then hardly ever let any goals in, and we could really push forward then.

Believable49 Unbelievable15

I can well belive this . if its true and we dont spend any money watch even more fans desert the stands. bulldog

Agree0 Disagree1

Hopefully it won't be him spending it

Agree1 Disagree0

Defence awful warnock lost the plot leeds right now far of even play offs

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever the manager is, they have a kitty of £8 million

Agree0 Disagree0

That's quite possibly true, which could explain that inept performance at the KC.
Certainly the managers decision in tactics, formation and team selection were inept. What a pathetic performance, it was like premiership v conferance north. Lucky to get away with a 2 - 0 scoreline. If this is the management we are looking at in the future then I'm afraid the statement "in Warnock we trust" is most definately a thing of the past. New owners are not going to tolerate this, surely.
JB

Agree0 Disagree0

He could be "bluffing" so not to up the price on any targets or wage demands

Agree1 Disagree0

Sack him now please Di Matteo available, Mark Hughes available, Di Canio could be persuaded - all better than hapless Warnock

Agree0 Disagree0

Could also mean the owners have told him there is no money because they plan on sacking him!!

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want rid of NW then fair enough but to say bring in Mark Hughes who has been totally useless wherever he's been is a ridiculous statement, in fact a little bit of sick came into my mouth just then.

Apparently Celtic were looking at him, but chose to buy Bangura instead, and they may be inclined to have another look due to Bangura underwhelming and Hooper possibly leaving.
