So Redders is being linked to Barnsley. Probably for a managers role, didn't see that coming when he didn't get the head coachs role.

Lets just see if his invaluability to the club and the academy keeps him here (if the rumours are true of course)

Could all be paper talk though

Can't see redders going anywhere

Agree0 Disagree1

Hope not true but if it is no way he will stay, ex player and upgrade to managers job wish him well and sad to see him go but no chance he will stay

To lose Redders is a travesty imo. Can you imagine what Cellino will do to our academy & who will run it.
Neil Redfern should have been given job of 1st team coach & brought back Paul hunt, Bromby etc to run academy with Redders overseeing. Now a demoralised Redfern will listen to offers & if there's 1 job he'd take it's Barnsley as it has great memories for him there. Redders deserved his chance & knew the consequences if it went pear shaped. Now Cellino thinks he's doing us & Redders a favour by keeping him at academy. Well he's wrong as all he's done is demoralised the bloke.
Our academy is the last remaining good thing at lufc which is giving us future hope & it's possible MC will ruin it. I only hope he gave Redders a bigger better & worthwhile contract for his work here. To top it off if any of you have seen our U16s you will know we have some very special talent in there which is far better thancurrent U21s potentially speaking. The whole academy know it & are so excited about them after 3 U16s played in U18s other day.
We stand to lose so much if Redders goes as all our juniors will start looking around for better clubs & maybe even end up with Redders at Barnsley if reports are true. Cellino is such an idiot at times. Yea dona a lot of good but structure & morale at lufc is at an all time low & a complete mess. He's his & our own worst enemy right now.

Agree1 Disagree1

That had to be the worst possible scenario. You forgot to mention the part about Cellino wanting to eat our children.

We have to accept that Redders is going to be linked to other clubs. Most of those other clubs will be dissuaded by the compensation that Leeds will ask for in return. If Reading can ask for 400k for Eamonn Dolan, we can ask for at least 1m for Redders. If we learned anything from the Ross transfer, MC & co can negotiate a transfer.

Also, I don't think Redders will take just any job to be the lead guy. He acknowledges that he needs resources.

Anyhow, I hope he stays long term and that we don't lose him. He's a tremendous asset to the club.

I don't recall anywhere Redfearn suggesting he wanted the top job full time. In fact, it's been the opposite. He seems to enjoy his academy (will likely have won himself a nice bonus with his first team brief) and is back to his day job. Far less pressure and more time doing what he ultimately loves which is coaching, minus a lot of the politics.
Hope I'm not wrong but, I said before the summer that Redfearn shouldn't be given the manager's job as he's too valuable to the academy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Redfearn has said he would like to be a manager, BUT in time! Not now he has business to finish at Leeds and from the interviews I have seen and read he is happy doing what he is doing. Where has it been said he is demoralised?

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't seem all that demoralised to me, if he was so interested in being a manager why haven't he thrown his hat in the ring when other jobs have come up?

Agree0 Disagree0

Can you be sure he hasn't.

Already posted my reply on here but didn't make print for some reason. You're commenting on Redders but know nothing about it other than the odd picture.
Quite clear, started off uncertain of taking the job, within a week he knew he wanted it, by the end he desperately wanted the job & thought he'd done enough to get it. Was & stillis demoralised & if you are uncertain about this check out Lucy Ward posts on twtr.
Those closest to Redders know what he felt about it & if we don't lose him to another club I'll be very shocked.
Right that out of the way I think Darko is a good choice provided he gets the time needed. He's a class act who I believe will really get us charging up this league. Top 6 by xmas, top 4 finish MOT
