Players won't come 2 us because they don't want 2 work under Ken Bates. This will cause more problems as we struggle 2 bring in anybody before the kick off
Hope that somebody can come in and get the Chelsea out of Leeds or it might be a long and disappointing season
Keith LUFC

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Put your money where your mouth is then, come on - see if you can do better. Where's your £92 million to get us out of jail, where's your investment in a fantastic stadium to build for a better future with higher gates/turnover, where's your committment to the club in the face of mindless idiots wanting "Bates Out"? Get a grip. {Ed045's Note - Agreed.. Rome wasn't built in a day and all that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Where's Bates' £92 million investment? He didn't put that money in to wipe out the debt, he took us into admin to do that. He even said in court, under oath, that he hadn't put any of his own money in. He's using our over inflated ticket money to tart up the stadium. It's you who needs get a grip

Agree0 Disagree0

Your right rome wasnt built in a day but religation was built in a season. i am die hard leeds fan and for you people to say being pissed off is not being loyal is a bit off the mark, just fed up with lack of investment, lack of ambition. i am london based but everyone i know thinks we have th best support in the country which we are up there. dont the people in the kop deserve better? {Ed045's Note - We do yes, but why slag our current crop of players off before they even have a chance to have a kick?? We are unbeaten in Pre Season and i'm sure if we need to invest that badly, we will do it. But we have a great young side that is only going to get better.. Lets get behind them rather than spend crazily like Leicester.

Agree0 Disagree0

You're a pathetic Bates hater you must be so fed up that we are doing brilliantly under Bates Have you not noticed that? Go away, the club doesn't want or need you and your negativity

all we need now is a solid young utility defender who can play either left back or centre.

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Talk about being in denial. If we are to challenge we need three more quality players even if its just on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

We are in desperate need of a left back and have been for many years; it's why we always end up loaning one. Throw in an additional CM and possibly a CB, and we're not too far away from a decent squad, though Paynter needs to pull his finger out.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on, name me one loan player who has been a success at elland road since gradel came? we have bags of talent in midfield and grayson obviously sees something in paynter. i just hope he isnt the lone striker and he has mcormack with him otherwise hes going to get booed off the park. being realistic better quality players than we already have in midfield are not going to take the cut in wages to come to us. everyone on this site bangs on about new attacking players yet im sure we all agree we were let down by the defence last year and yet we havent strengthened there. say paddy gets a knock early on, can we rely on brondby and bruce to do a job? i just hope a solid defender arrives before the window closes.

Agree0 Disagree0

Young defender who can play at CB or LB...that'll be Tom lees then

Heard we're interested in Newcastle duo James Tavernier and Sammy Ameobi on loan. Both very good players

Believable6 Unbelievable10

Both donkeys, not good enough for Leeds so you're probably right

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt sammy ameobi used to be under leeds youth

So you mean you seen these names on skysportsnews and thought you would make up the rumour, you have no source at all there mate.

I've been told we beat Leicester
3-0 behind closed doors this arvo.
Anyone know if it's true?

Believable11 Unbelievable9

Lcfc have no more friendlies at all coz saturdays game is massive for them and they wont want to risk any new signings getting injured

Agree0 Disagree0

It was 3-2 Mike Grella got 2 and sanchez payne got 1.

Sanchez payne used to go to my school, hes a quality player and needs to be in the first team

Agree0 Disagree0

It is true but it was the reserves not full team

Agree0 Disagree0

O Brian was suppose to play to get him up yo scratch for Saturday don't no if he did or not

Agree0 Disagree0

It was actually 3-0 not 3-2. Reports got it wrong. 100% 3-0. Grella got 2. Payne got the other

Agree0 Disagree0

It was for the reserves and fringe players trying to get that added sharpness. Apparently Kasper played for Leicester though

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah it was 3-0 and i no it was a friendly an was mainly reserves and youngsters but still feels good that we beat them 3nil

Leeds will be fighting with the likes of leicester, west ham, Birmingham and Cardiff for automatic promotion and I've got faith in Leeds for them to get it. No matter who we sign or not. MOT

Believable11 Unbelievable11

I dont think cardiff will be as good this year i think forest will be up there tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe brum, definitely not Leicester and Cardiff. Leicester are setting themselves up for an almighty fall - too many cooks n'all that. As for Cardiff, lost a few very very importnant players.

Anyways, were gonna finish about tenth, a few places above Leicester.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would take 12th to 15th now we have no chance going uP based on the current squad.

Agree0 Disagree0

Current squad is better than last years. Playoffs

Agree0 Disagree0

How is the current squad better than last years

" How is the current squad better than last years "

There was a guy that posted our first game last years team against Derby and a predicted team with the current squad and the new team looked alot better imo

Who thought gradel snoddy and becchio would be the playeres they r now when Leeds first signed then, people said their no good and not the players Leeds r looking for, n look now

Believable10 Unbelievable5

Good shout.....money does not always buy class

Agree0 Disagree0

Too true, I'm thinking about taking my boots down to ER............

Agree0 Disagree0

Nobody said anything of the sort when those 3 signed get your facts right

Agree0 Disagree0

Snoody was already considered to be a good prospect, Gradel was already playing at this level, as was Becchio (equivalent).
So I did.
The players we are singing at the moment are at a lower level than the club is currently at.
Oh and looks like we are going to be letting Gradel go for free, rather then Bates risking paying increased wages. Anyone else get the feeling he is trying to scrimp and save, on the proviso that he can sell the club on at max profit?

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't remember anyone complaining about Becchio tbh, because nobody knew who he was. Some people were moaning about Snodgrass for the same reason, and said we should be aiming higher. People were certainly complaining about Gradel though, and I remember reading Leicester forums at the time and their fans were laughing at us and celebrating 'dumping' him onto us... Who is laughing now? To me, these players are testament to the ability of our scouting network, and I look forward to digging up some more 'unknown and unwanted' gems in the future.

Why dont we look at the likes of upson and hitzlsperger there are still alot of free players out there that could improve our team we dont need to spend millions for no reason we need to make 3 more first team signing in mu opinion 2 defenders and a centre midfielder, we already have enough players who can play upfront eg gradel, Nunez, paynter mccormac ect MOT

BIG G

Believable9 Unbelievable7

Its not money its wages mate, the top wage at leeds is 11k atm. I dont know what upson and the hammer are on but im guessing its about 4 times that. If we wont even pay 15k wages for a player then no prem player will be coming to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Upson and "the hammer" will cost too much in wages Come on use your head they will be looking for £20-£40k per week at a guess so no way in our budget.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow really ? There are people out there that don't understand that if players leave on a free they can command higher wages due to not having a transfer free.
Why do you think players let their contracts run out? So that they can be unemployed, ever heard of the bosman ruling?
How long have you been into football mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

It's all about wages, head of kfc mr bates thinks its 2 much if he pays players more than his grandchildren, he wont become rich unless he pays players minimum wage u know, cockal pickers get mor u know

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree but need cover until becchio fully fit

Agree0 Disagree0

The point the guy is trying to make ( and I agree) is why have Upson & the hammer been out on free transfers for so long? Everybody bangs on about "wages" but if your any of the above players you have to ask yourself a couple of questions. Why hasnt anybody signed me yet? Are my wages to high? Do I want to play football or just watch it on tv? When you have been a free agent for so long, you would take 11k a week easily. It's not rocket science, so stop using the wages card

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus Christ, two naive fools. Upson and Hitz will command wages well out of our price range. Transfer fees have fallen dramatically - it is wages that kill your club. Why are they stil out of work? They apparently receive a pay-off on August 1st if still unattached. Expect a few prem clubs to now pay wages nearer to what they are used to, though Upson at his age will be taking something lower i'm sure, but not anywhere near £10K.

Agree0 Disagree0

Like someone has already said, its not the fact that players are free, (as in no transfer fee) its the wages that are the problem, players like upson and hitzlsperger would still command a high weekly wage. Wages for players are always the problem, that is why lots of clubs run at a financial loss, you think of the wage bills at chelsea and man city they are astronomical compared to their incomes. It is only billionaire business men that can afford to bank roll this sort of activity, because lets face it, as businesses, in the real world, half of these clubs would have ceased trading due to their losses a long time ago

Agree0 Disagree0

Can I ask where you got the figure that Leeds highest wage is 11k from? Because I am pretty sure Leeds don't release those sort of figures

Agree0 Disagree0

WAGES..............we pay peanuts and its common knowledge.

its quite simple leeds do not offer enough money to players there after . but most of our targets are, nt enough to wear the shirt anyway

some blame bates
others heĀ s like a mate
we cry out for defenders
alas not spenders only lenders

loosing two strikers, what wrench
come opening day
forty thousand will pay

LEEDS PRIDE

Mendy already agreed terms last week and will sign one year contract with possible extensions. Decent signing and big confidence boost with the newcastle result showing we can do it. Want to see more of lloyd sam this season. However having small worries if one or two players not brought in mainly a cover striker as leaving our back up to paynter though he has quality is risky. What u got planned SG? MOT

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Think the signing of mendy (if it does or doesnt happen) we have gradel who can comfotably play up top. Player of sams ability to take over the wing... Think were ok. Would love to see afobe in on loan or oli johnson permanent

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendy is a decent squad player who can't play in any of the positions where we are very weak. Paynter is quality ??? are you sure ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Check out Paynter's career stats. He's only had one good season - in League One - in his whole career.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get the whole paynter thing. He is useless. I have read lately about comparing him to the likes of ricketts and grella. Ok he might be better than them which I don't agree he is, but even so, they were rubbish. Let's compare him to someone half decent like beckford. Who again is not exceptional. Painter still can't lace his boots. We need someone who can make something out of nothing. We need an out and out goalscorer. I feel we have lacked this for a few years. I don't want to get started on our defence. Really hope they do better than last year. Praying that paddy can get some organisation in our defence. Our midfield I think is good. What do you think.

Agree0 Disagree0

As I have said before let's try and get behind paynter
I too have been disappointed to say the least but I bet he is his worst critic
New season let's try and help his confidence- after all that's a big deal with any striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we have a few options up front, nunez and ross or gradel? Think mendy could do a job up front too and he has a bit more height.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think fans should be boo-ing Paynter or anything like that. Its not his fault. He's only got the talent he's got - no more no less. Blame the manager and technical director who looked at his record yet still thought he was a guy who could score 20+ in the Championship, or blame the Chairman who prevented them looking at anyone half decent. Boo-ing the player will only make him worse still but no amount of praise is going to make him a more talented footballer either. You can't polish a turd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paynter has the touch of a baby elephant and the pace of an Austin Allegro... and for all his effort Bechio isnt far off

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendy to sign tomorrow on a short term deal, believed to be a one year contract, Mendy will wear number 18

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Good option if this is true similar to the Nunez deal. Except I think mendy may stay with the team instead of going out on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

We have a number of players who can play here already. Where are our hard tackling midfielder, centre back & right back?? For me the key player missing is the first. We have been missing this type of player for over a year now. Michael Brown will not be able to fulfill a full season in this role at his age.
It would not do any harm for Simon to make a statement of his intentions here. As a season ticket holder for many years I think we deserve to be kept better informed than we are at present.
Fed Up from Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign him up.. Still think we are light of 4 squad players though. LB MF MF ST for me. I think we should sign Rob Hulse for starters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he, like Nunez may be a bit of a find.I don't know why they don't start with an 18 month contract, and review after 6 months. The danger is that if they shine they either go next summer or demand silly money. At least with 6 months remaining in the summer we either get money or another 6 months- there seems to be a bit less activity in the jan window

Agree0 Disagree0

As a ST holder you pay to watch the games not know the goings on behind closed doors that's private company business. It's like me saying I've been a customer of a particular mobile phone company for years therefore I deserve to know the inner workings of their business strategy. It doesn't work like that I'm afraid. Sorry if it sounds harsh not having a go just telling you how it is in reality.

Agree0 Disagree0

One defensive midfielder, FIVE wingers Now, I am pretty bad at maths, but something doesn't add up there...

Agree0 Disagree0

In any other business treat the customers the way the club has done and they'd vote with their feet. Between season tickets and a strong emotional attachment the club can afford to treat it's customers with contempt at limited risk.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't agree with that< as a ST you are asked to buy up front the right to watch your football team for the season, and as usual when they ask you to pay for it in the close season the likes of Bates tell you we are close to this big signing and that big signing and we are talking to loads of people. With the sole intention of enticing us poor stupid fools into parting with our hard earned money. And what do we have to show in return? we loose a good keeper and get 1.5 million, buy an alright keeper for £200,000 get a 34 yr old midfielder who i happen to like however we lost two first team midfielders in BJ and NK no improvements in a poor defence and every team in the championship seem able to out bid us for players i'm off to eat, Thanks KEN

Agree0 Disagree0

I bet you would be complaining to the Mobile phone company if your signal was really poor and it turned out that the company had been using free , worn out , usless equipment thrown out by its competitors and spent your money on extra special phones for VIP customers......or executive boxes

Agree0 Disagree0

What makes u think brown at 34 cant do it? If we signed bowyer would u have said the same as hes 34 aswel? Have faith in brown. He is proven quality. Ok not gettin any younger but can defo do a job MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Only saw Mendy at Sheffield Wednesday game and didnt think he looked anywhere near good enough - hope he has improved since then. Feels like another typical grayson/bates cheap as chips option.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thing is a fan thinks soley with his heart, the board must think with heads as well or you end up with a Ridsdale scenario.
We are united with wanting success but even a ST doesn't pay the bills or balance books.
As for wingers, Gradel, Nunez can play upfront and I recall Snoddy doing that too
Correct me if I am wrong but Nunez can play central midfield too

Agree0 Disagree0

just heard leeds are to sign mendy tomorrow, not what the original plan was... although leeds were sure they would get a different target after posative negotiations had taken place with an un-named player which seems to have broken down, so mendy will be made out to be "the one we always wanted to sign...." why are we running our club this way? do we genuinely have couse for concern? or did the newcastle result just give us a reminder that we dont need to change too much?

Believable13 Unbelievable8

Newcastle was a reminder we don't need to change that much.
Mendy will be a great signing and I am sure he was a target.
However on that comment, Leeds have always done there business behind closed doors, I don't feel we are missing out on too much and most rumours are never correct with Leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont need to change much?.
please dont be fooled by the newcastle result.will mean nothing come next sat and we beat wolves last season who put a far better team out.so your happy with current squad?.dont you think like mean a few injuries and we are gonners.like last season, becchio injured and the goals and points dryed up.and on sat , no bechhio or somma

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, if Mendy was who Simon really wanted he would have signed a week or so ago, but now his targets have gone to other clubs he hasn't been left many options.

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a behind closed door friendly taking place today - no decision on triallists was going to happen before then.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont need to change that much? Wish I could agree
We just beat a Newcastle side with 3 lucky goals and they were lacklusture and didn't want to be there enough as it is. Will be different against Soton. I wish I was wrong but I see that being a huge wake up call....

Agree0 Disagree0

We really don't need him, he is merely another player to take the chances away from Nunez and Sam, who deserve more of a crack. Why do we need five wingers? Grayson is obsessed with buying wingers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I still think we are waiting for prem clubs to decide their 25 man squads then there will possibly a bargain loan or buy to pick up. Still 29 days to go

Agree0 Disagree0

If he cant play lb, cb, rb or dm then he's a waste of space for our club atm. But everyone else turned us down so I guess we will take whoever says yes to us and our wages at this stage.

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps he is going to be our 3rd keeper? Saw him play at Hillsborough and he isnt what Leeds are missing i.e. LB, RB, CM, CM and if Santa has room in his sack a CF.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mendy can also play cf as well as a winger if you look at his playing history they were his positions.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we beat Wolves last season, but we had a brilliant season - didn't you Bates haters notice that? Our squad is good enough as it is, so thank Goodness Bates isn't ruining us by splashing clash like the Leicester side that we just beat at Thorpe Arch

Agree0 Disagree0

I've heard from a very reliable source that Le Fondre is on SG's radar and that Lichaj does NOT want to come back.

Sheffield United fans think Montgomery is all but gone (to leeds)

And finally I've heard that Andrews' first choice was Leeds, but that his agent did not want to business with us as he thought better wages could be found elsewhere.

Believable11 Unbelievable9

Why is everyone obsessed with Adam Le Fondre? Surely not good enough for League 1, so the championship?

Agree0 Disagree0

Interesting Andrew's agent did all the press talk - we don't want spineless players who can't choose on their own

Agree0 Disagree0

The same bloke from villa who said he would welcome a return to Leeds Utd. person head

Agree0 Disagree0

Andrews would only be a loan signing so his wages would be what he gets at Blackburn. No more no less.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahaaaa Leeds fans just cant see that players just might not want to play for them because they are not the force they once were

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take a chance on L1 & L2 players with potential, surely in the current financial situation that's a good move?

Agree0 Disagree0

Who thought gradel snoddy and becchio would be the playeres they r now when Leeds first signed then, people said their no good and not the players Leeds r looking for, n look now

Agree0 Disagree0

Surprising about Lichaj if true but if the club doesn't show any ambition then I guess ambitious players wont want to sign. I doubt many players who felt they could play in the premier league in 12 months would be that interested in coming to ER unless they had little option.

As for Gradel, Snoddy and Becchio. Luciano was a gamble that everyone got excited about - could easily have turned out to be another Da Costa or sorsa but proved to be a gem. Snoddy was a talented player but one who hadn't necessarilly shown his head was in the right place to make it and was signed only as 'one for the future'. Gradel signed from a division above. Don't think there were that many complaints about them that I can recall.

Best news of the summer today Keith Andrews not coming to Leeds. Thank god is all I can say without a shadow of a doubt the worst football I have ever seen play live (quite a few time here in Ireland) completely headless. My cousin used to play with him coming through the youth ranks with Ireland and he said of all the players to have made it as a pro he would have given odds of 10 billion to 1 on him making it in Ireland never mind England. After that news i'm in great form and can see Leeds finally making some headway in the transfer market.:)

I am truely dissapointed by the way Leeds are handling this season, theres no passion, and when we lose players on loan to ipswich, well where does that leave us as a team. WILL GRAYSON still be here by christmas ?? click believable if hes still here ??

Believable13 Unbelievable17

Have a little faith, your going to look very silly if we start the season flying arn't you. lets just get the first few months out the way first & see where we are then. Iv'e a feeling you may be surprised. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

We all need a sharp reminder of the FACTS bates wont spend, SG is operating under a penny piching miser who would sooner have another coat of varish on his yacht...Even if Jose Mourinho came on a free for 12 months under se or tight wad he would do little better, unless two or three quality players come in, then mediocrity at best, worst case league one...like SG has reportedly said leeds fans expect too much..NEWS FLASH..we are the onnes turning and paying evrey week

Agree0 Disagree0

After seeing how we played on Sunday I am optimistic about our season. Not saying we will get automatic but definately think 6th place

Agree0 Disagree0

Who says we lost him? i might be missing out on something but i havent heard SG say we were after him?

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe there are still signing out there to be had, maybe not his prime targets, but also some of simons comments earlier in transfer window were he didn't really want loans, and I think every loan deal so far has been with a view to a perm move, which I think may have been one of the stumbling blocks for the deals as its always hard to agree the fee

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope SG is still around come Christmas irrespective of results. My guess is Ken Bates will use him as his fall guy as and when things slip but I'd guess that just like last year we'll take some momentum in the early months before the lack of quality in the squad will be exposed in the second half.

Agree0 Disagree0

Seasons not even kicked off and i see the "oracles" of football have the team sussed out already - making predictions of where were gonna finish.... y dont u idiots just shut your mouth and wait n see what happens all this moaning about players id love to kno where you guys think weve got all this money from lol

No footy knowledge and can't even string a sentence together Saying that, I have also heard these players are available on a free: Pele, Beckenbaur, Cruyff, T.Brolin (remember him), Stachen and Mcallister

Agree0 Disagree0

Carew is only in it for the money, so he will not sign for us. And I am glad cuz he is over the the top

Agree0 Disagree0

Carew....I love big Jonny Carew, but theres no way he would drop down to the championship with any club apart form maybe West Ham or Leicester. Certainly not us

I really feel sorry for Simon Grayson i bet there is targets he wants to improve us but the s**tty board we have in place just won't pay the wages going to be a long hard season we need a board in place who will take us forward

Believable17 Unbelievable6

And where should the money come from to pay the big wages?

Agree0 Disagree0

Also bates has said the money is there to spend if Grayson wonts it

Agree0 Disagree0

Been there done that and look where it got us wake up work within your means

Agree0 Disagree0

And look what happened last time we paid the wages

Agree0 Disagree0

I feel sorry for him too but I think he is talented enough to work with what he's got. I have a feeling we will have new ownership next season

Agree0 Disagree0

Do not feel sorry for Grayson. He knows his budgets etc and should have had his players line up before the season finished. He should stand up to Bates more, and stop being a yes man. I think he will be sacked by the end of November as based on the current squad I see us loosing far more than we win.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont, if chairman not backing him he should comme out and say it...not be a yes man

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do some people still seem to think that paying the going rate for wages in the division is somehow the same as Ridsdale-esque meltdown?

We charge premier league prices, we have big merchandising sales, we got millions for Delph, millions for the 3 Chelsea kids, 600k for Garbutt, good cup revenue for the last 2 years, a million for Casper etc yet we get outbid by any club that cares to compete with us for a signing.

Yet otherwise intelligent fans trot out the same lines about money and Ridsdale. Ken Bates must wet himself laughing at them if he ever sees it.

Believable11 Unbelievable5

What is going on at Leeds is that we are doing very well, finances in order, promotion then just missing the play-offs, great performances in pre-season. Have you been asleep for two years?

Agree0 Disagree0

Must admit, i do feel a bit squeaky bum, for the start of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its bad when we cant even get people to come even on loan

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we'll be ok but it is cra#p that we keep losing targets to lesser teams, guess if they wanted to play for us they'd accept our pay structure so no great loss.
Personally i'd play for leeds for nowt, but i've the body of tomas brolin and the shooting skills of paynter so i'll not be standing by the phone keep the faith. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

With those two qualities i'd stay by the phone you sound like something we'd go for, i really dont think we got a squad to push for promotion i think mid table well around 7th-10th i think, really dissappointed with the andrews chosing ipswitch v strange

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont worry Have a little faith in our players. You know Howson, Gradel, Kisnorbo will always give their all and others want glory so they will always try their best Next season whether we go up or not...I reckon Bates will sell up and we will get someone with a bit of money in

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mind those two qualities did you miss the third and most important "personally I would play for Leeds for nowt " - KB has spent the summer looking for players who mfeel that way ........hence we enter the season with a threadbare squad padded out with kids who are not ready

Agree0 Disagree0

Think some of you are armchair fans have you seen us play in pre season? some great performances besides the one game, we have a good team, better than the start of last season take a Look back at our starting 11 Last season at derby

Agree0 Disagree0

Have faith we've got 2 decent keepers, we've got Kisnorbo back, Nunez, Clayton, new signing Brown, well be fine all we need is Bechhio and Somma to be fit and well be a tough team to beat. MOT

leeds are to reduce their injury crisis before the southampton match on saturday with the signing of Danny Haynes from Barnsley for a fee in the region of £400,000.

Havent heard much about this guy, anyone whose seen him play, is he any good?

Source: i know many people will click unbelievable as its a common line, but brother works in accounts department at oakwell and has seen shaun harvey attend the ground twice, he came on friday last week and visited again yesterday.

Believable5 Unbelievable16

I know he's ex-ipswich and from memory a pacey striker who had potential but never seemed to cut it

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same brother who works at the accounts dept in rotheram and says le fondre is signing for leeds today? And also started his post something along the lines of "I know ppl will click unbelievable but" lol

Agree0 Disagree0

No not the same brother mate, some people post some garbage on here i know, so when someone with genuine information comes along, it sounds untrue. I only put i know many people will click unbelievable, just due to the mentality of fellow fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah thats the same reply the guy who said le fondre was signing today gave. Guess what he didn't sign.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rubbish I work for Barnsley FC and I can tell you the accounts department is one person and Leeds are not signing him.

Ps - I am a Leeds fan come on bates get your cheque book out MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Name your brother's first name please, as I am more than interested in this. If as I suspect, you've made it all up, then perhaps you would be better to think before you type.

Simon has inform Ken Bates that he needs to
sign a LB, CB, Defensive Midfielder, a loan forward.
If this demands are not met before the game this
coming saturday against Southampton he will
hand in his resignation letter and Leeds will have
to look for another manager. Cannot reveal who
this source is. The person or persons might get
the boot. He also wants the LB, CB, Defensive
midfielder to be permanent not loan players. Can
only think of Montgomery as the defensive
midfielder that we are after.Lichaj as LB.For the
CB could be Danny Gabbidon. Loan striker to be
Billy Sharp. Watch this space for more shocking
news to come.

Believable5 Unbelievable23

What a clown you are, you have no football knowledge do you, Gabbidon gone to QPR for starters

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop talking crap an tell us who these people are because they wont get the boot they will get laughed at knob ed because Gabbidon has signed for QPR.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sound like your already watching space or maybe just spaced out. Love it when people say this carp and then say but cant reveal my sources. Errrrm Thats because you dont have any

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly even if this was true it's unlikely that either SG of KB would have passed on this info to anyone else at the club, secondly it would be odd that he's demanding a striker after stating in public that we didn't need one.

Also I'm sure Larry knows papa smurf well enough by now to know that he's not the sort of person you issue ultimatums to as he would only dig his heels in further.

Sounds to me like typical pub bravado spouted by someone who claims to be in the know because he washes dishes at Thorp Arch

Agree0 Disagree0

And we also have a defensive midfielder, Brown.

Why are we even bidding for him? He's a s**tter. He should be playing League 1 if he's lucky. It says something though when even a Prem reject wont come to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont rate him tbh. And Im not bothered that he doesnt want to join. He probably didnt want to deal with the competition in the squad

Clingan 73

Total team rating 3 star

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Nunez=66 f**k off he's easily the most skilled and creative player on the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nunez should defo be 80 and there's no way paynter is better than nunez if you think that then frankly you can smd

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol thats so far off its unreal haha

Snodgrass and Gradel will be nowhere near 80, Pedro is only 82 on Fifa 11.

Brown was 68 on Fifa 11 and that was when he was a year younger

Kisnorbo wont go up as hes been injured so they have nothing to go on so most likely will be 71 still.

Somma was 70 on the last one so dont think he would go down after having a decent last season.

Howson will be around 74 you would think as he was only 67 on the last one and they arnt gunna change him into an awesome player. Your being very generous to Lloyd Sam also and Clayton and for that matter Paynter who will be around 65 IMO

Good post though ;) lol

Agree0 Disagree0

HAHA, I know hes good but snoddy & max 80? behave.

Agree0 Disagree0

Snodgrass 75
Gradel 75
Howson 74
Kisnorbo 73

Agregg with the rest though

Agree0 Disagree0

Championship players are never 80 and i cant see bessone being better than parker tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

This sounds like its more important than the actual football lol

Agree0 Disagree0

What a pointless post. I've just won the prem 4 years on the trot with Leeds on FM 2010. I still have snoddy in the squad.

I thought o'brien should be the only one over 30, the rest are in their mid twenties aren't they ? ;-)

Andrews agent Will Salthouse confirmed: Keith won t be coming to Leeds.

Leeds are still interested (in the future), but he just feels there s an opportunity somewhere else and at this moment in time, it s the best opportunity for him.

They may be a change in the future, but at the moment, he won t be coming.

I had a long chat with Simon (Grayson) and (technical director) Gwyn Williams. It was a close decision, but he won t be joining.

There have been seven or eight of the top Championship clubs interested in him and the decision has been made on the fact that he s found the club where he s comfortable and feels he can develop again.

Meanwhile, another reported United target, free agent Jonathan Spector is putting the finishing touches to a move to Championship rivals Birmingham City.

Source : YEP

Believable11 Unbelievable1

So that is clearly someone we WERE targeting. Depressing to be losing targets to Ipswich. Season getting closer and closer. We have been rejected by/ not been able to offer wages to a lot our targets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well in all honesty, no wonder that he opted for Ipswich. They're really pushing for promotion, since they've injected the money from Wickham's transfer back to the squad.

I wonder where we would be, if we'd followed similar route, rather than spending the profits on the stadium renovation. I guess it's KB's priority to have a fancy directors box.

Agree0 Disagree0

YEP said we had missed out on longergan.... and where did he end up

Agree0 Disagree0

I do not rate this lad anyway if he is what we are going for its going to be a very long season. Can someone tell me how he is better than Bradley Johnson.

Agree0 Disagree0

The guys agent says he wont be signing for leeds longergan was the only player we did get. Our ratio on ppl we got to ppl we missed out on is terrible. PPl say but were we really in for this guy and that guy? Yes we were in for them all and pretty much missed out on them all. We will end up with the s**t no one else wants. Thats just what happens when you dont pay the going rate

PREMIER League midfielder Keith Andrews is set to join the Paul Jewell revolution just four days before the start of the Championship season.

The 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international is being hunted by Ipswich Town on a season-long loan after falling down the pecking order at Blackburn Rovers.

As Jewell continues his search for new defenders, the planned capture of Andrews will surprise some especially after reports at the weekend that the experienced midfielder was close to completing a switch to Town s Championship rivals Leeds United.

But a source close to the player said: Keith will be going out on loan this season and Ipswich are the favourites.

If Andrews completes his move to Portman Road, something that is expected over the next 24 hours or so, he will become Jewell s eighth new signing in a hugely productive summer and the second loan deal following David Stockdale s move from parent club Fulham.

It will also be the second time Town have gazumped Leeds after the Elland Road club originally looked favourites to land the 25-year-old keeper.

Andrews has made almost 300 appearances for the likes of Wolves, MK Dons and Blackburn. scoring 30 goals, while also winning 20 international caps.

The signing of another midfield suggests any pursuit of Jimmy Bullard has now bitten the dust despite the former Town loanee reportedly being ordered to stay away by Hull City after the conclusion of his two-week suspension for a breach of discipline.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Can I have ur source mate this look interesting

Agree0 Disagree0

Check Newsnow.co.uk Pal, it's all over there.

Wages will be the main reason he is signing elsewhere. He wont be the last decent player to opt for another club for this reason.

At ER on Sunday Pardew was hugely impressed with Howson and sees him as a perfect replacement for the departing J Barton. Newcastle feel a £750,000 bid may tempt Bates into doing business.

Believable4 Unbelievable19

Not a chance in hell, just been made club captain of his boyhood team he wont be going anywhere

Agree0 Disagree0

If u put 4 million in frontof that then maybe

Agree0 Disagree0

What a stupid post, Howsons just been made club captain, he's worth 10 times that, but priceless if we're going for promotion this season. Stop with the bullsh*t posts and wait for Southampton on Saturday. Marching On Together -

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is true then I will personally burn KBs beard off

Agree0 Disagree0

Howson is already worth 3million and once he gets more experience as captain playing alongside brown he will be worth double that

Agree0 Disagree0

Jonny wont want to go, he loves leeds but if money gets dangled in front of uncle Ken then who knows ? I for one would be gutted if he was allowed to leave and i know Simon would be.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we siad no to man u for 10m we are going to say no to them

Agree0 Disagree0

Howson is a future England midfielder for me. He was awesome last season playing part of it out of position. Leeds won't let him go on the cheap, but we need to tie up his contract. If Ken keeps offering peanuts the fact that he plays for his boyhood team will not stop him wanting to better his career. C'mon Papa Smurf sort it out

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said since he first started, Jonny is the next Steven Gerrard. criminally under rated by England, 200 club appearances by 23 but no u21 caps.
