From what I've read, Taylor's agent has forced him to hand in a transfer request which was rejected by the club, maybe this means Taylor perhaps wants to stay and his agent is messing with his head.

No Taylor wants to go which is not odd as most people would move for more money.

Judging by the way he applauded the crowd on saturday his body language suggested 'farewell', there was a lingering quality to it, . seemed to say goodbye. I think he and his agent will force through a move, in spite of any club announcement.

Hopefully if Taylor s let go on a free his leech of an agent won't get a penny from our club, and we still get a fee from a tribunal valuation.

We are in for Jack Hobbs, Nottingham Forest central defender.

Would be a descent signing.

Low down the pecking order at Forest (and getting lower) and injury prone.

"Would be a descent signing. "

I hope you meant descend and not decent, as it would be a downward step?

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 20:02:51
Compared to bellusci its definitely an upward step.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 20:40:37
Anyone is a howled step from Bellusci, you could play Cellino in defence and he would still be a upward step.

Forest fan here, just looking through this Leeds page saw about Hobbs. He's a bit injury prone but they don't come much more solid if you want an old fashioned safe centre half.

Reports popping up that we are closing in on the signing of 20yr old Belgian left back Alexis Scholl from Benfica. Not sure if its loan, loan to buy or a straight up purchase (guessing loan to buy as that seems to be Massimos preference) .

Yeah I just read this I'd much rather go for Rico Henry as he know these leagues a bit better. As I don't know much about this guy though he could be good.

02 Aug 2016 18:20:02
Not sure if we can get any more loan signings in? I may be wrong. Any idea ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you can have as many as you like, the limits are purely on how many you can have in a match day squad or from one team.}

02 Aug 2016 19:34:59
To Ed001

Surely the wage bill also has to come into the equation too?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - only within the club and FFP rules.}

02 Aug 2016 20:28:28
And how many get pulled on fp rules? Well unless your team starts with l and ends in eeds.

{Ed001's Note - quite a few have done. Forest for instance.}

Morning people! Charlie Taylor has handed in a transfer request on Sunday night apparently, I say we sign a replacement and get rid now auction him to the highest bidder! He won't be at 100% focused and clearly wants to go now, we will be dropping a clanger if we hang on to him IMO, good news about hernandez though, hope he is in good form, looking forward to Sunday, come on the whites!

I quite agree DJ. Get him offloaded asap for the best price and get a bid in for the young lad from Walsall. We should be able to get him for less than we receive for Taylor without weakening the team. No brainer imo.

02 Aug 2016 09:30:38
Agree dj he's got to go now let's get Rico Henry in he would be a good addition to our squad and just get what we can for Taylor. He's left under different situation to cook and I hope we're ever he goes he ends up like Byram bench warming.

Agree2 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 10:04:43
Yeah I think a good idea to move him on.

It is a shame but the squad have to be in a good place mentally and giving game time to him would be a bit of a confidence knock to the person who steps up if Charlie were to be playing games before he leaves.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 11:09:50
Anyone who wishes Taylor to do bad or sit on the bench at his new club whoever it may be is a very strange person imo. He's been our best player for the past 2 years and he deserves better than we can offer. He's clearly a step above Leeds n deserves to go to a better club simple as that. Cook the same but imo I didn't rate cook that much but Taylor is a very good player who will walk into the first team if he joins westbrom. Anyone in his boots would want to join a team in the premiership if they could. Don't hate on him for wanting to better himself -_-.

Agree3 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 11:13:26
Also Nesmith do you seriously think Sam Byram is at westham regretting leaving Leeds? Yes he's on the bench but he won't care he's still playing a part in a better team at a higher level getting paid way more than at Leeds. Stop being bitter.

02 Aug 2016 11:36:57
Players like Charlie Taylor have no loyalty to a club that has invested a lot of time and money turning them into the players they are today.
If it wasn't for this investment then they wouldn't be poached by premier league clubs offering them ridiculous wages.
I don't see why the players cannot sign a contract then a month or 2 later ask to be sold or hand in a transfer request rewarding their club by letting them command a sizeable transfer fee rather than being held to ransom.

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 12:25:40
Taylor and cook will be at mickey mouse clubs in the prem. When we get there our mighty club will dwarf the likes of west brom and west ham . Henry would be better long term than taylor I'm sure . Clear off taylor.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 13:22:01
Swan lad do you really think if we wasn't in prem they would be going teams like they have its not bitter it's my opinion pal Byram ran off thinking it was the right thing and he's warming the bench. My point is these players are going getting promised the world and not playing. Yes they might be better than Leeds can offer at the min but there far from powerful players that think they can treat the club that's put them on the map like are. Yes part of its is how the club has been run but still there are as bad in my opinion.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 13:34:06
Unbelievable, Taylor doesn't owe Leeds anything. He's given them 2 years of being by far there best player n could have moved last year but stayed n now he wants to move to a better team. N Lancaster you say when we get there? It's been how long since we have been in the premiership? By the time Leeds get into the premiership Taylor would probably be retired because we ain't going anywhere right now n with who we have brought I can't see that changing any time soon. Sold cook replaced with Grimes really not a good move forward is it? Sell Taylor replace with Henry yet another step backwards. Loyalty doesn't happen in football very often n why should it? It's a career so players will go to the place which offers more money and more recognition. You say westbrom n westham are Mickey mouse teams when we are in the championship n have been for years without coming close to getting out. Who do you think other teams see Leeds as then? Because right now we are seen as a joke who teams love playing against because we are no longer feared.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 13:36:08
How in your head do you see Henry as a better long-term player then Taylor? This is why you ain't a qualified manager because everyone knows Taylor is a much better player than henry.

Agree3 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 14:07:48
The point I'm making is whilst we are in the championship which we ain't moving from for along time imo then we don't get to call teams like westham Mickey mouse teams because like it or not they are better teams than us and will attract our better players not just because they are in a higher league but because they have owners who run there club much better and also they pay more wages which is the main reason any player would leave for simple as that. Don't tell me that if you were a player at Leeds and they had a joker for a owner who was buying some really average players like Grimes and antonson n a team like westham wanted you n were offering atleast double your wages you would say no and stay loyal because you wouldn't unless you were mad. I accept the name Leeds is a bigger named club than westham n westbrom but who cares about that as a player? Sam Byram is in a better position now than if he would have stayed at Leeds because he's getting paid more money and he's at a better club in westham right now. Taylor would be different if he moves to westbrom because they don't have better players in his position so he would get straight into there first team imo.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 15:09:37
Im not so upset at the fact that he is leaving, someone offering you 3-4x the wage to do the same job your already doing would turn anyones head, i'm not upset at the club if they let him go because we offered him a contract and his manager refused to look at it (probably because he realised he could get his client 3-4x the money elsewhere tbf) . What annoys me about the whole saga is the timing of it. Charlie surely knew he was going to try push through a move weeks ago, so why not do it then? now we either end up refusing, leaving us with a player that can't be bothered, or letting him leave a few days before the first game of the season with next to no time to get a quality replacement in.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 16:02:07
Nobody actually said Taylor owes Leeds anything but come to think of it, yes he does to a certain degree.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 16:21:42
What does he owe Leeds then jay? He was wanted last year n stayed with us so why shouldn't he leave now? N ok maybe the timing is wrong but we have known for awhile that he would be leaving. Everyone wants to better themselves n that's what he is doing by joining a premiership team sorry but we have to accept that n not expect him to stay in the hope we get promoted in time.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 17:14:44
Well swan lad you seem a pritty negative person in my opinion to be honest because your not a qualified manager yet your judgment on the players we have signed are pritty dampening and they have played 3-4 games tops. It's about how he's pushing for it now a week before the season and also you say he could of left last you but do you know 100% someone actually bid for him. You also going on about Cellino yes in the past he's pissed me off but man wake up he's put a good coach in charge and has made so signings and his ruthlessness as put our club running steady financially but hey we could alway ask Ken Bates back hey.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 18:52:44
Swad needs a chill pill
Henry better than Taylor.
We have a stronger SQUAD than last season
All looks better than our recent past so let's get behind our team.
Are you actually a Leeds supporter?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 18:59:30
No mate I ain't negative I'm just honest, I ain't judging the players just in the few games they have played for Leeds I'm judging them on there history n records. Hardly anyone knew about Grimes before he joined us as he's not very good n same with antonson. Rob green n kemar roofe are the 2 good signings we have the rest are average at best, just because you support a team doesn't mean you can't open your eyes and see how bad some of the signings are. N you say he's got a good coach in? Says who? He managed Swansea for abit n wasn't good at all. Taylor has wanted to go way before this last week n he's pushing now because our owner won't sell him n by the looks of it he still won't sell him. What do you mean his ruthlessness? What's he done that's been ruthless?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 19:25:40
Grimes played second half of last season for Blackburn and was a regular and by all accounts a spark for them

As for his ruthlessness I mean won't pay stupid wages and cuts staff down throughout the club

As for Gary monk I do believe he led them to there highest finish in the prem so you know a lot don't you. You seem to have a lot of negativity in you like Trev said are you even Leeds?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 19:41:15
I don't get this "Players like Charlie Taylor have no loyalty to a club that has invested a lot of time and money turning them into the players they are today" mentality?

Taylor has his future to think of yes, but there is no reason why we can pull in players on loan and pay them more money per week that the talent we have already?

I can't believe Taylor actually wants to leave Leeds, but he has an agent who sees pound signs flashing in front of him/ them and wants to cash in.

Unfortunately Cellino sees this as a fight rather than a challenge. You may win many fights, Cellino, but you won't be here in 5 years time, when we still are.

Sooner gone the better now.

02 Aug 2016 20:13:54
No just some of you don't like an honest opinion. Yes I'm a Leeds fan n have been for the past 17 years but that doesn't mean I have to be blind. How is Henry a better player than Taylor? that's got to be a joke. As for Grimes being a spark for Blackburn well that's really not true n he wasn't even a regular. Also why don't you think Taylor wants to leave? Who wouldn't want to leave for more money at a club higher playing better teams? And as for us having a stronger squad? We have just sold cook n now Taylor wants to go n apparently we have a stronger squad? Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Aug 2016 20:47:32
I think Cellino would rather Taylor goes for free than give his agent a single penny in commission, personally I agree with him, but Leeds will lose out on a fee.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - if he goes to another English league club you will get a compensation payment, which could be a few million.}

02 Aug 2016 21:00:41
Henry would want to be at Leeds. Taylor doesn't
Cooke was decent in last seasons shite team.
You need to get your head out off your backside.
I've seen some poor Leeds teams in the last 45 years. But I for one think the squad as a whole looks much stronger.
Taylor won't win us promotion. Someone like Roofe or Hernandez could.
Home grown doesn't mean world class.
Cooke 1 goal and a few assists. WOW
good at running forward and then running out of ideas.
We are a better team now. Can't wait for season to start.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Aug 2016 21:43:17
No we are definitely not a better team, just because Henry would want to be at Leeds doesn't make him a better player than Taylor n also who's to say Henry would want to join Leeds? He hasn't said so. I didn't rate cook but to sell him n bring in Grimes is an insult. Grimes won't do a thing for Leeds, just look at his record! Your right Taylor won't win us promotion but there is no left back in the world who can win promotion.

Kemar roofe is a good player but he himself is a big risk as he came from league 2 so I don't expect much from him. Also I never said home grown players mean they are world class. Taylor is definitely the best player at Leeds n has been for the past 2 years n now he wants to move on n typical of Leeds fans seem to slag him of because he wants to leave lol even some saying it must be his agent playing with his mind! Because it can't just be that he wants to improve as a player by playing at a higher level nooooo ofc not lol.
