Hearing rumours coming out of ER that Walker tking over is a done deal. Whats his background? Anyone?

Believable7 Unbelievable5

What??

Agree0 Disagree0

Eh ?

What walker thing....?

I saw a Walkers packet blow past on the way to work this morning !

It was ready salted... Bizarre

Neil Warnock is exactly what we need .... a big shack up for the lads , watch this:

Warnock Uncut in the dressing room giving the players a b******ing
www.thefootballnetwork.net/boards/read/s277.htm?447,13029330,13029924

He will be with us tomorrow

Believable16 Unbelievable8

Free watching this video waenock is my first choice LOL. graysons problem is that he was one of the lads, warnock will tell them what for !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea seen this - its old as hell

dont always work that 'nasty dad' approach tho !
not in this day n age .... only works with hard up players lowewr down the leagues ... lookin to keep contracts
players today - say feck this and dont play for the man or the badge - few exceptions
Hopefully if he does come hes got better man management skills by now

Agree0 Disagree0

My god hillarious, imagine what he'd say about our defence after the Blackpool, Barnsley & Birmingham game. Think he's shoot them all. Just realised maybe we don't like playing teams beginning with 'B'...ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget Warnock coming whether we want him or not. Money, Bates and lack of ambition - ruled out on all counts.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather die than see Warnock in charge he has previously said he hates Leeds after all. Grayson was by far the best Manager. Bates should accept he's made a mistake or walk. would rather see him 6 feet under than in charge of Leeds. he has turned our once great club into a laughing stock. Bates OUT

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see anyone in before the bristol game, be interesting to see how the lads respond with redfearn at the helm

So...Neil Warnock IS interested in the Leeds job.
But Neil likes to control all signings into the Club he manages
For once this deal isn't just about money. It is about the fact that Neil Warnock can't work with Gwynn Williams.

A disaster in my book
So in Lee Clarke we get someone who achieved less than SG.
We need a PROVEN MANAGER
His name is Warnock!!

Believable28 Unbelievable7

I really don't know who is going to take it.

I am a bit worried that maybe Bates might scrimp and save by going for a manager with less demands.

Did not know anything about Grayson when he first came in, and he did get us out of league 1 and 7th in the championship.

So whoever takes over i'm going to try to be as optimistic as possible.

Agree0 Disagree0

How does this mean that he can't work with Gwyn Williams?

Agree0 Disagree0

Clarke favourite! hope not done anything i agree with posting

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes politics rule these matters
Warnock doesnt need grief at his age and his record is in place - as is his pride and respect - Williams needs to trust a manager and take a back seat

Warnock rightly wants assurances on money and players - he wont get it - His package not an issue surely - we can afford his wages at 15k and a bonus for promo - all worth it

Control and Power that is the problem and the MALE MALAISE - Warncok is too assured to take it - Bates and and Co will go for a man they can CONTROL Im afraid SAD FACT !! be someone more desperate than Warnock for work and to make a mark

shame cos Warnock is the perfect man for this job - we wont get him

Agree0 Disagree0

Keith Hill is the latest name. I did wonder why bates referenced the Barnsley game and wage bill when giving reasons for grayson's sacking. How did he know barnsley's wage bill? Even though the figures he gave were wrong!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lee Clarke is not coming to Leeds thank goodness so Warnock is now favourite

Agree0 Disagree0

He can't work with G Williams because GW ultimately controls the comings and goings at the Club
He is Ken's spy within the Club and ensures that no manager ever has total control
Neil W isn't going to work under those constraints - desperate shame!

If your in the Yorkshire region put Calender news on now it Will show Warnock with Bates laughing n Joking , just to show they can get on.

Believable16 Unbelievable3

Bates was probably laughing at how much money Warnock was getting at QPR ... Double what SG was on apparently ?!

Agree0 Disagree0

Warnocks laughing because uncle ken had just dropped a case of champagne in to celebrate sheff uniteds promotion

Leeds united to sign DJ Campbell on loan for 3 months while Nunez out to Watford for the rest of the season

Believable14 Unbelievable23

Can't take no more loans we have already got 5

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of tosh ... We won't sign anyone... We have a good enough team... They just need motivating !

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't have a good enough team thats a fact, how many of OUR players would get in the southampton team...prob 3!

is any members not going to the cov away game who is willing to let me use their membership number, im not a member myself as i can only make cpl away games a season due to family commitments and i live in cov and i was wanting to go along to this with some of the cov whites, if yes then i can leave my email

Believable0 Unbelievable19

Cheers guys, i guess you must all be going then {Ed020's Note - aye pretty much,i would, but i'm going too!! lol.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have alot of cov fans as mates so will just prob sit wi them. hopefully a fresh approach will see us perform there like we did last yr!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would leave ya mine but ya need the card too to get in the games

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds like I.D fraud to me - knowing my luck you will be ejected out the ground for violence or racism and they will come kick my door in at 5am

Good Luck - just sit with the Coventry fans you won't be alone

No simon grayson your not having my membership number, bates will find out somehow.

Think the Leeds squad should be very scared if Warnock gets the job,all the lazy under performing light weights we have there will be out on there ears and be picking up very small pay packets in div 1/2 and good ridance. Can not stand Bates but,he has a point about our squad of players some of them are getting good money for doing nothing, how many players did Grayson want in his squad ?surely a smaller well paid quality team is better than a huge average at best one.

Believable36 Unbelievable3

At last someone with common sense ! reduce the squad size by getting rid of the hopeless under achievers (we can all name at least 1/2 dozen) use their wages to increase those we want + those we could now afford to attract = better team

Well said

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, we all dont like warnock but he would be great for leeds. We should get rid of 8 or 9 looking at the squad and bring in 4 or 5 quality players on loan until the season ends. Is old club qpr have a few..dj campbell etc MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is they are on contracts,so they are happy to keep taking the money.
To get rid of them it would cost money to terminate the contracts, and we have no money to do this.

Agree0 Disagree0

Carnt we transfer list them though to show our intentions and hopefully wake them up !

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 16:41:17
You can all say what you want about this.

But having looked down the list of bookies' favourites to take over at Leeds - I would prefer Simon Grayson to ANY of them.

Well done Bates. Sell up and move on.

Believable27 Unbelievable16

Sadly Simon had to go he made two many bad signings. Forget Warnock the man who should get the job is Billy Davies.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate Warnock and Davies, but if it came down to the two, I'd have Warnock hands down. He has a much better record.

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you say that? Dont you remember "Billy Davies JOB DONE" ha ha ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Billy Davis is a tosspot. If he gets the job I will support Harrogate Town instead

Agree0 Disagree0

Depressingly, I'm afraid I agree. All my mates down here in London rate Grayson very highly (they support a variety of teams across all divisions - mainly outside London). They can't see why we got rid of him when compared with this dreary list.If you were, say, a Coventry or Leicester fan you'd be relatively up-beat at the prospect of getting Larry as manager. I know he hasn't been able to turn things round, but is there a bit of familiarity breeding contempt? I prefer him to any of the current favourites for the job. I'm not trying to be provocative; just can't get at all excited by what seems to lie ahead.

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson did for us what he did for Blackpool. He's yet to do more, and we have been playing very poorly this season.

Add to that the fact that we scraped through in League one, played terribly for the last half of last season, and have brought in very few decent players in his tenure, and i find it very hard to believe that no-one could do better.

He'd lost the dressing room, The defensive coaching was non-existent, and in the last 2 seasons we've had more than our fair share of 4 goal+ defeats.

I liked Grayson, but I really think it's time for a change. Someone else needs to move us forwards, and start getting the best out of our under performers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get a grip pal ! take a good look at our defensive record over the past 2 season's ? is the Bates fault aswell ?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 16:40:34
gordon strachen to be the next mangaer

Warnock 'allegedly' spotted at ER this PM by someone working currently working there. (Not for LUFC)

He said it was Warnock and a guy with a bald head..

Don't know if the guy was pulling my leg but he was convincing enough ! He doesn't support Leeds either !

I am taking it with a pinch of salt.. you never know !?!?

Believable18 Unbelievable10

Well according to Calender News NW has not being contacted by anyone at LUFC, But he has said he would jump at the chance when asked....

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 16:03:16
Who do you think would be a good leeds united manager? Theres a few good ones too possibly look at. Neil warnock, Lee Clarke, hearing alot of steve bruce (not too sure what to think of him), Paul Ince (good guy but feel he's not the right man to take us forward?), Gus Poyet (worked with bates before, but seems like he likes the brighton role).

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Gus poyet would be my number 1 but like you said, he is doing well and enjoying his time at brighton, if we cant have gus, i would be happy with warnock

Agree0 Disagree0

Poyet said he's not coming, we won't get Clark from Huddersfield as he's doing really well there and Steve Bruce hasn't really got much of a track record.

For me, the only reasonable option there is Warnock, and he's got a history of getting teams promoted too. {Ed020's Note - i think the better choice, as much as some people don't like him, is warnock, proven at championship level, lets worry about the premiership level when we are eventually there!!!}

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul Ince! A Good guy! Are you tripping?!? The WORST choice of manager possible, the guy's borderline remedial!

I'd sooner have Warnock and don't want to see him anywhere near Elland Road!

I'm afraid Mr. Bates and his shenanigans have probably ensured our Championship status for many years to come. Everyone's talking Premier League and we can't even hold our own in the Championship. I'm embarassed by some of our supporters, they don't seem to have a clue about what they're commenting on.

Agree0 Disagree0

Having met incy some years ago he is a good choice and any one who can stand up to fergie is in my opinion worthy of the name the govenor bring on the good times

Agree0 Disagree0

If you want to see FOOTBALL and not long ball, the only candidates are Zola, Poyet or Di Matteo, all ex Chelsea but have the right philosophy and would get the best out of a mediocre squad.

Lee Clark will get the job tomorrow,he lives local and has worked wonders at huddersfield on low budget

Believable3 Unbelievable23

Shut up you person he has spent loads of money 7 million to be precise and they are still in league one numpty

Agree0 Disagree0

What low budget? They have spent loads the last 2 years and still in 1st Div.

Agree0 Disagree0

If he worked wonders at Hudersfield then why are they still in league 1 3 years later?

Agree0 Disagree0

He has actually used quite a large budget if you consider they are in league 1!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is that the same lee clark that as spent alot more money than grayson, and his team are still in division 1

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this the same childish person Lee Clark who was booted out of Sunderland for disrespecting his clubs fans?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 15:18:51
Just seen what Bates had to say on sly spurts website and he said we are over spending on wages. If thats the case we are paying players more than they are worth.

Believable10 Unbelievable2

02 Feb 2012 15:10:58
i say give redfearn a chance! already knows the players and staff and has said in a interview on OS that he has already brought in his own ideas! could work out!

Believable8 Unbelievable20

Do not want redfearn not a proven manager only manage lower division teams like halifax and york and didnt do anything good with them so he would do f*** all with leeds we probably get worse its got too be someone like lee clarke or steve bruce or maybe even warnock

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 15:02:28
after watching paolo di canios interview on ssn im even more impressed with him get him signed up mr bates

Believable10 Unbelievable14

Hes committed to swindon so no chance there mate

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 14:15:31
I've got a friend who works on the physio team at Thorp arch. He tells me that Redfearn has been given the next 3 games and depending on results may be offered the permanent position until the end of the season. Bates is still in discussions with Warnock though incase results dont go our way against Bristol, Brighton and coventry don't go our way.

Believable7 Unbelievable8

I hope this is not true but knowing bates, he will probably offer redfearn the perm job in order to save money

Agree0 Disagree0

If thats the case the "weve got 18 games to go b******s" was rubbish.we need a quick appointment, games are running out.MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Is the Physio interested, because the last one to step up was Nigel Adkins at Scunny and look at the success he has had !!

Agree0 Disagree0

If the next three games "don't go our way" then whom ever we get better be good at saving a club from relegation!

We need & should be looking at getting at least 12 out of the next 15 points if not ......... :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 13:45:31
I have just received a call from a very good friend that works at ER, he has told me that Warnock will be announced as manager tomorrow !00%

Believable14 Unbelievable18

Reckon so, he is at thorpe arch just seen the clown!

Agree0 Disagree0

He is gone out to 3/1 with Paddy Powers so if this is true- GET ON!

Agree0 Disagree0

Could be true but why would redders be given charge for 2 days. i expect him 2 be here for a couple of games to see wat he can do....

Agree0 Disagree0

Sounds reasonable to me. Good manager too, even if he is an a**ehole.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 12:25:21
Hearing on Twitter from Andrew Haigh and Dan Roan of BBC Sport that Lee Clark is the preferred candidate. Odds shortening significantly. Not really fancying that at all. Has had a couple of seasons at Huddersfield and significant funds and has only got play-offs twice. Draws an awful lot of games. Might not even make it this season- despite having Jordan Rhodes!! Not proven enough for what we need at our nadir and in our time of need. Hope this doesn't happen.

Believable6 Unbelievable15

He would defo fit what bates is looking for but the only problem there is bates will have compensation to pay so i cant see him coming

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't stand listening to the guy - not for me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't mind this too much if there's a chance he would bring Rhodes with him in the summer. Can't see Bates allowing the money needed for it though :(

Agree0 Disagree0

Compensation to huddersfield town would be a complete stopper
to that one-master bates will not
part with the proverbial "frat"
to land a manager like him.
my money's on redfearn to keep the job until the end of the season -
that'll be cheap enough for master bates!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Clark has a history of turning other clubs youth rejects into decent players, and selling for massive profit. Bates all over.

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson did better than him in League 1. Would be a step backwards in my opinion

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 12:08:46
We have forgotten someone:

Sgt. Wilko! He'll get us promoted come on Howard help us again.
Vinny jones as assistant to force colonel Saunders to give us cash {Ed020's Note - he's too busy with his restaurant!!}

Believable16 Unbelievable7

Wilko wouldnt work with bates, and vinnie would chin him. would like wilko back tho

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy O'Brien to be new Leeds united player/manager {Ed020's Note - nice for you to post this more than once!!!}

Believable3 Unbelievable16

Great! A bloke who's been suffering depression for a few months and required treatment- who's personal life is in turmoil.
Give him one of the most stressful jobs in football with no experience.
I feel for the guy and all Leeds fans have mourned our favourite son after losing him to depression recently, but this suggestion is bonkers!

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to stop any mention of AOB for the time being. Let's get serious and show the guy the support which he obviously needs.

Agree0 Disagree0

AOB as manager would be the last thing we want.

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Feb 2012 11:23:44
Sven Goran Eriksson to be next leeds united manager. Hope to god this isnt true as look what he did at leicester! i want warnock personally, feel he's a good manager and maybe can get the best out of our players. I am going against most leeds fans here, because i feel we have a good squad, mixed with youth and experience.

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Sven couldn't do what he did to Leicester if he came to Leeds as he would have no money . i think he is a manager with good man management but the money went to his head and he signed too many players which led to the squad struggling to gel together. had he been left in charge he would probably of had Leicester in the same position as they are now .he would also of got them promoted at some point

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont need the mad professor,, we got f*** all 2 spend anyway so no good to sven

Sky Sports understands Paul Ince is
interested in filling the vacant
managerial role at Leeds United and
is being considered for the post by
chairman Ken Bates.
The Whites are on the hunt for a new
manager following the sacking of
Simon Grayson on Wednesday.
Grayson was shown the door after
seeing Leeds lose five of their last
seven Championship games, with a
run of three successive defeats over
the Christmas period dumping them
out of the top six.
Ince is reportedly a frontrunner to
succeed him in the job and Bates is
thought to be weighing up the ex-
England international.
The 44-year- old has not managed
since leaving Notts County in April last
year after an ill-fated five months at
the helm, with the Magpies losing a
club record nine successive games
under his tenure.

Believable2 Unbelievable29

Do NOT want Ince, is this the same Ince who lost a record 9 games on the trot at Mkdons ? Lol I hate warnock but he WILL do a good job for us, Gj

Agree0 Disagree0

God. I hope not. Probably a cheaper option than warnock for bates though so wouldn't be surprised.

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance, no way we do not want this at all, what has he done in management?
nothing, if bates does this then thats it i wil never go again

Agree0 Disagree0

This has got to be a joke, the man couldn't manage a chip van.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably andy o'brien will become the new manager

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mind O'Brien, I'm depressed at the thought of Ince even being touted on rumours pages as the new manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just what we need- a guy who breaks records!!

Agree0 Disagree0

If KB brings in this clown it will prove once and for all where his loyalties lie.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ince may well be interested but he isnt going to get the job! neither do i want him to get the job!

mick mccarthy next leeds manager

Believable11 Unbelievable18

Stop taking drugs my friend No way do we want McCarthy or fat bruce

Agree0 Disagree0

Won't happen. He'll stay at Wolves, but he is a very good manager though

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally would love that to happen but can't see it. He says it how it is and that wouldn't sit well with bates. But it had crossed my mind as he's looking like he'll be out of his job at wolves soon.

Agree0 Disagree0

Please no, his dull drawly South Yorkshire tones make we want to be sick (and I'm from Barnsley)

Agree0 Disagree0

It would cost too much to get him away from wolves - expect a manager without a club.

40/1 Dougie Freedman
50/1 Lucas Radebe
50/1 Roy Keane
50/1 Gary McAllister
just look at this list, taken from william hills site, This is Leeds United known throughout the world and all we can do is attract this bunch, what is going on, we should be looking for a change at a top and i mean a top international manager, just because we are in the Championship does not mean top managers will not jump at the chance. Mr Bates i ask, get out there and get the top man, pay him the money yes we all know who i meam Jose, just get him, he will turn the exisiting squad into a very good and hard team to beat. The list above is a joke and if that is all we can do, then sorry Leeds fans more years of nothing. Kevin 50 years Leeds.

Believable7 Unbelievable13

What like sven, person post ya dip stick. Warnock will get us promoted end of.

Agree0 Disagree0

What more do you want? ancelotti? ferguson? mourinho? some good names there (warnock not included). We are at the minute a mid table championship team, all names mentioned there with the exception of radebe are managers of that standard. And scoff all you want about the records of Bruce, worthington, di matteo, davies and curbishly but all of them have achieved at least one promotion out of this league, which is impressive anywy as this is the hardest league in the world to get promoted from. {Ed001's Note - O'Driscoll worked wonders with no money at Donnie for years, and the football was a delight to watch. I think he deserves a shot myself, at least you would enjoy every game.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Dougie Freedman or Billy Davies for me. Can't stand Warnock but I suppose if he came in and got us promoted my opinion would soon change!... :-) Fickle Steve

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree that is one poor list,l dont think grayson got a fair deal and looking at this bunch of muppets things aint gunna get any better!

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's scrape any previous managers from contention we know it doesn't work so come on Mr Bates do something decent for our club and get someone in who cares and wants Leeds to do well not just another manager who turns up then 5 minutes down the line quits because he doesn't have the chemicals to handle our club.

Agree0 Disagree0

Grayson got a fair deal. He was lucky to get us promoted, or he'd been shown the door 2 years ago, and last season, the only reason he stayed was because he got us promoted and deserved a chance to see what he could do. He's not improved matters, he's not getting the best out of the players, and if we want a chance of promotion this year, he had to go.

We're a struggling championship team, the transfer window is shut, so we've got who we've got, Bates is the chairman, and the fans expect the earth. how exactly do you expect us to attract the best managers in the world? Its going to be a big challenge for whoever takes over, and I wish them all the best, but that's not a bad list. There are proven managers who have taken teams up to the prem, and there are managers who have managed successfully in the prem in that list. What more do we want?!

Agree0 Disagree0

O'Driscoll would work wonders with that Leeds team. As Ed001 said he worked wonders at Donnie and i think they have a wage cap in place of £4000 a week!

A name no-one has mentioned yet is Rafa Benitez. He's worked in the lower leagues before, it's close enough to his home in the north west and currently Leeds are no threat to his beloved Liverpool. He would be my choice to ressurrect this sleeping giant!

Agree0 Disagree0

I totally agree with the post starting
"Grayson go a fair deal" and as for "Agree this is one poor list" - you must be on drugs my friend!
Grayson - very lucky for the length of time he got in the limelight. I expect to hear very little of him post LUFC. Bitchin on about loosing his best players - A Wenger HAS lost some GREAT players and they are still in contention for Europe this year.
Grayson signed duds and blamed KB (no KB fan) for lack of funds (funds which he has decimated by paying wages to dud players) when his s*** signings haven't delivered.
End of IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't get top international managers until you're a top team. End of.

For now we have to get what we can - personally, I'd have Warnock.

And btw, no team wants Rafa Benitez - he is an awful manager. He did eff all with Liverpool other than spawn the CL which was completely wrong and they didn't deserve at al, and then he single-handedly dismantled Inter. He's almost as bad as Houllier! {Ed020's Note - 2 cl finals, an f.a cup and a charity shield. not a bad overhall for a crap manager!}

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree there are alot of deperados in that bunch. We would could still attract the likes Guardiola and Mourinho if we had money but we havent so we wont,

Agree0 Disagree0

A prime example to young people

Dont take drugs or you will start posting utter crap on leedsrumours.co.uk

telegraph this morning are reporting shearer wants to speak to bates about being next manager, {Ed001's Note - Shearer always applies for jobs that come up, he went in for the Cardiff job and didn't get it, even though Speed recommended him. He wanted money to spend there, not sure he would want to take over with none to spend at Leeds.}

SUN Sport - quote

NEIL WARNOCK would ..

'jump at the chance'

to take over at Leeds.
Simon Grayson was axed yesterday and Warnock is available after being sacked by QPR last month.

Warnock, 63, has told close pals he would relish the opportunity to finally work with controversial Elland Road chairman Ken Bates — 21 years after turning him down.

Sheffield-born Warnock was offered the Chelsea manager's job by the then Stamford Bridge supremo Bates back in 1991.

But he knocked Bates back because he had just guided Notts County into the top flight.

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Warnock is the only manager out there who could work with his hands tied as they would be at leeds. i know at times he's a moaning buffoon but i'd love him to come,he's got a proven track record and can motivate players like no-one else. however i think we'll end up with that goon billy "job done" davies
