If he has any doubts about where he wants to play I'd pull out of the deal.

Not happy with this think there are much better players out there .Hate to say it but this looks like the cheep option but we will see

I understand that we are already in discussions with Gradel over a move. Also the player that McDermott spoke to at the weekend was Zaha but he still wants to push himseld at Man Utds even though we offered him first team football.
The other signing which will be completed before our next home game is the veteran striker kevin philips. (Not sure if that's a good signing tbh).
The only real question I have is when are we going to get a new goalkeeper as kenny just about cuts it at our league.

Believable13 Unbelievable44

He said 'going to the Premier League' not staying so I can't believe it would be Zaha

Agree2 Disagree1

You obviously don't go to many games mate, paddy Kenny has been outstanding at times for us not faultless by any means but saying he only just cuts it I think your in dream land fella, 100% behind BMD he will do what's right for the club MOT

Agree7 Disagree1

Completely agree with response 2, the games I have been to, Kenny has made saves that have kept us in the game.
DP

Agree3 Disagree1

Totally agree with the post above, Paddy has been great this season and kept us in some of the most important games. I think to have another keeper will only make him better and keep him on his toes.

I thinks we need more outfield players rather than a new keeper

I have missed all but 3 home games this season and paddy kenny has made some good saves but he has made too many errors and let in too many sloppy goals hence the low amount of clean sheets. Also he's too slow to start a counter attack from a save. I strongly believe in BM an I'm sure he'll make the right signings!

Agree3 Disagree2

Kenny has been our 2nd best player after ross and leeds would be fools 2 replace him

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree with cal, paddy kenny makes some good saves but we could have had a lot more cleansheets. our biggest mistake was selling schmeical. 7 clean sheets in all comps is all we've had this season and three of those were the worst teams in the league yeovil, doncaster and barnsley. He only did a lot of work in the Barnsley game.

Agree2 Disagree0

Is that the same Zaha who was banned last season for swearing at our fans?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldn't want zaha does not to what to do with a football things doing step overs makes him good he has ability but doesn't make use of it and kenny is brilliant shot stopper but lacks in many areas to make a good goalkeeper struggles to do hold the ball look at qpr's goal against us and has no command over the area putting more pressure on defence to deal with everything and with young defenders is asking a lot so makes them appear worse than they actually are

Agree1 Disagree1

He's not going to get much of a look in at Man Utd. Moyes is shopping so if he wants to play he'd be better moving clubs

Agree1 Disagree0

Whatever happens, no tommy lee for leeds. Chesterfield fan here. He's top class, good enough for you yes however loves club, massive fee needed and fan love him etc.

Agree1 Disagree1

Im not even going to ready anymore. the reliability of these posts are extremely questionable if you think paddy kenny barely cuts it. in fact he's the only good thing warnock left us with

Agree1 Disagree1

Nakhi wells is the players that MCD met and is on his way to a premiership club, hard to believe I know!

Believable7 Unbelievable33

Udders are bookies fav

Agree0 Disagree0

Although Bradford chairman was just on ssn radio stating he's had one offer it wasn't from a premier league club? PL interest but no offer.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2014 19:52:20
Radio Leeds suggested it was Huddersfield who have made a bid for Wells and Phil Parkinson wants this sorting sooner rather than later so he can use the cash to strengthen Bradford.

Agree1 Disagree1

Massive risk for prem side to splash on a chancer from lower division. Could even be too risky for us at the price rumoured.

Agree3 Disagree0

Radio Leeds mentioned £1.2/£1.3m for him so would be a big gamble for us.

Agree2 Disagree2

Wells is a prem player. far better standard than the championship

Agree1 Disagree2

He will go to QPR or Wigan apparently these aren't prem clubs

Agree1 Disagree1

He's not a prem player though is he? He's a 2nd division player who looks good in a poor side. The step up is massive, even to the championship.

Agree1 Disagree1

I don't agree that 1.2m is a massive risk after spending 1m on murphy

Agree3 Disagree0

Prem player? No way. And 1.2 mil too much of a risk IMO

Players out is also going to be key in this window as this will free up even more funds for BMD.

Players out should be:

Norris
Tonge
EHD
Drury
White
Brown

As for players in everyone knows we need two wingers, I also think a quality holding midfielder is required along with another striker, as for names who knows let's see what transpires in the window! I for one feel confident BMD will be given the money he needs to do what he wants! Yes it is strange feeling this way as a leeds fan as in recent years we all knew bates bought into the January sales ethos and without doubt if he was still around Ross and Mowatt would be sold in this window!

MOT

Believable31 Unbelievable10

Personally would still keep brown for another year! got experience and still got the hunger for the game not afraid to wokr hard and put himself about! a good squad player in my eyes can come in and do a job in need be!

Agree3 Disagree0

For me i'd keep tonge and brown. pointless getting rid of the experienced players. brown plays just as well as any other mid we have, his job is to cdm and unlike austin that is what he does.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown has done fine this season and isn't exactly taking up too much wages. It is also good to have the experience

Agree1 Disagree1

Is Green still with us? i'd keep Brown till the end of the season too. He puts in a shift for little money.

Fawksey

Agree2 Disagree1

Brown is a ****in axe man and the worst player by far. why is EHD not getting gametime he was one of our best players last year

Agree3 Disagree1

All Brown does is get booked and give away stupid fouls. Terrible player, should be nowhere near the first team.

Agree3 Disagree1

Yh cus austin dnt get booked often no? brown does his job very well

Never posted on here, only doing so to share the info I have with fellow Leeds fans. Scott Wootton was in revolution on call Lane this afternoon, spoke to him when he was at the bar and he told me that McDermott had asked him to speak to a certain Manchester United player to encourage him to join on loan. He refused to tell me who, but said that he'll score goals in this league and is 'frighteningly quick'. Anyone any idea who?

Believable16 Unbelievable29

Zaha?

Agree1 Disagree0

Jesse Lingard? Will Keane? nick Powell? Henriques?

Agree0 Disagree1

RVP

Agree1 Disagree1

Chicharito! (I kid)

Agree0 Disagree0

Jesus its zaha

Agree1 Disagree0

Nobody ever says "frighteningly", especially not a 21 year old footballer.

Agree1 Disagree1

"Nobody ever says "frighteningly", especially not a 21 year old footballer."

Made me laugh,

Someone said Jesse Lingard, sounds like the only option but may have been in regards to cameron stewart as brucey has been chatting shiz and Stewart and Wootton we're at old trafford at same time as was Lingard.

Keane & Tunnacliffe looked ideal but have both remained out on loan where as Lingard is back at old trafford for now.

Agree1 Disagree0

I'm not sure I believe this but I have heard a few things about a loan move for zaha

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - Cardiff are the latest to show an interset apparently}

Revs down in the calls. Known to be a dive, he locals. Avoid that place, so chances of a football player going to THAT "bottom revs" is nil. nice try tho

As I posted the other day: Phillips to leave Palace with Leeds looking at him if they can't get another striker. MOT

Dougie freedman has said Bolton May have to sell players to pay off debt of 130+ mill? Possibly of beckford on cheap?

Believable12 Unbelievable33

How cheap? 21 starts and 6 goals ain't looking too cracking

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 16:55:05
Think leeds could give him back the stlye of play he used to have although we have got better players than before? i'd have him back where he belongs :)

Agree2 Disagree1

I does my head in when people insist on begging for ex players to come back! Use you imagination FFS!

Agree3 Disagree1

Build the team around Ross!

Agree1 Disagree1

I think the debt was reported at £168 million. JD

Agree1 Disagree0

I suppose we can't go through a transfer window without Beckford being mentioned somehow.

Agree2 Disagree0

Obviously the ex players was doing it for the team and fans before they left

Agree1 Disagree0

The question is? Would Beckford score the goals (again) that would take Leeds up this season? Remember 2009/10 season, especially the last game against Bristol :-)

Agree1 Disagree1

Id personally prefer we made a bid for eagle's from them

Agree1 Disagree1

Aye, bring him back home to where he is loved. Can we also bring back Harte and Smith, as this would surely make Leeds great again. Oh, I forgot, actually no don't because none of them are actually that good!

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 19:32:47
I'm not saying he woul be the way striker in the championship but surely worth getting him back in cheap see if he can do anything special for us once again

Agree1 Disagree0

How have we got better players now than b 4? we had johnson, howson, becchio snodgrass and now we have who? brown? green? tonge? diouf? none of these are even on there level

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Jan 2014 05:33:39
Plenty of decent players worth taking from Bolton but Beckford isn't one of them as he simply won't work with Ross.

Agree2 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 15:35:41
Adam le fondre leaving his options open for a move!
Would be a good addition, thoughts anyone?
MOT

Believable37 Unbelievable9

C'mon GFH pull your finger out your a**e and get this deal done.

However, I'm sure I've read before that it was also McDermott that never played him?

Would be great support and lift pressure off Ross and Smith coming off bench at 70 mins would be a right annoyance for tired opposition.

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2014 13:51:49
GFH have confirmed that brain mcdermott as £4m to spend In January? Is that enough? Thoughts anyone?

Believable11 Unbelievable36

Depends on who we go for. I think we need a GK, a holding midfielder, a powerful striker and some pace in the centre of midfield.

Agree0 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 14:13:17
more than old batesy ever give us in a january transfer window!

Agree2 Disagree1

I'd like to see us go after Jack Butland (loan), Chris Wood, Tim Sparv and Jack Grealish (loan).

Agree1 Disagree1

Think we Will need more than that to get the players we need to challenge for promotion.

Lifelongleedsfan

Agree4 Disagree0

We need more then that, need to ship a few players out to.

Agree2 Disagree1

Where have you read that they have confirmed this?

Agree1 Disagree0

Players to ship out would be Norris, Green, Brown, Varney, Ashdown and Diouf. All are ooc in June though, but rather get them off the wage bill now.

Agree6 Disagree1

Where have gfh said 4m?

Agree1 Disagree0

Nothing on LUFC WEB? Nothing on Twitter and i'm sure LUFC are not going to let every man and his dog know how much we have or have not to spend!

Agree5 Disagree0

I don't imagine GFH are likely to advertise our exact budget for very obvious reasons. This post is clearly a load of cock. Why bother, young man? PK

Agree1 Disagree0

02 Jan 2014 15:55:50
More dead wood is drury and one of Pugh white or warlock don't need 4 left full backs more Colin mess ups! But no way would GFH confirm how much was available doesn't make any business sense what so ever

Agree2 Disagree2

Should be enough for a 2nd choice keeper(loan) a defencive midfielder and a striker and a winger

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 20:19:30
We will have double that figure. I think the new guys will want to get back in prem league this season

Agree1 Disagree2

02 Jan 2014 12:22:20
Possible that Jack Butland may be a target of ours on loan! What do you guys think?

Believable6 Unbelievable26

Going to Palace as it was pulis who brought him to stoke

Agree3 Disagree1

Would be a great signing, but can't see it. Surely he'll want Prem football ahead of the WC?

Agree1 Disagree1

@reply Yeah I guess so, wouldn't it be great if he did come to us though?

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes we do need keeper cover for Paddy but it would have to be support because Paddy has been one of if not our most consistent performer this season

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 11:50:14
The player who is going to the prem is in fact Jack Butland as hughes is sticking with Sorenson whilst begovic is injured and is going to Palace instead on loan

Believable14 Unbelievable20

02 Jan 2014 10:55:08
this is supposed to be nailed on.after some long discussions about wages and contract length david bentley will soon to be announced as a leeds man, the attacking winger has struggled to get a team since his contract running out at end of last season. and says that leeds could be the place to restart his up-down career. don't know what any1 else thinks about this but I reckon he could add something to the team not a hell of a lot but a half decent addition

Believable13 Unbelievable42

A fully working, well kept Bentley is a joy. A broken Bentley is a very expensive driveway ornament.

Agree3 Disagree0

Mcdermott dismissed the bentley rumour last year, don't think it will happen

Agree1 Disagree1

02 Jan 2014 16:01:29
Not in a million years. too much of a luxury in a good team let alone ours, no pace anyway, noy played for a while now too much of a gamble

Agree1 Disagree1

Heard a few small rumours on twitter about Billy Sharpe as his future is uncertain

Any views?

02 Jan 2014 09:47:44
yes two words GET HIM

Agree0 Disagree1

Another two words 'Hates Leeds'

Agree2 Disagree0

Haha Great reply.

I think he would be a great addition to Ross Up front.

Lifelongleedsfan

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance, he's off back to Saints. This is also going to stuff up any chance (however slight) of us getting ALF!

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Jan 2014 01:56:11
All names that have been thrown in the mixer for jan

Gradel
Becchio
Wells
Rowe
Kenwyn jones
Ince (very unlikely)
Wallace
Alex McCarthy
Chabola
Le fondre

All those names have been said, think it was Danny ings we were after but is going Everton now, but the list could go on there just the names I've heard going about twitter we will find out this month!
MOT

Believable21 Unbelievable10

Wish we could get them all signed. Our current team is just not good enough.

Agree2 Disagree0

Personally is love to see;
McCarthy, Rowe, Gradel, Big Kenwyn Jones!
That would be insane. I think we'd have a real chance. That could push out; Varnet, Hunt, Norris, etc!

Agree0 Disagree1

That would still not get us up.
Up until now we have been punching above our weight.
unless we get substantial quality in, we will plummet!

LUFC KEK

Agree2 Disagree2

You would never sign Alex McCarthy, bigger clubs in Everton and Newcastle are interested

Agree0 Disagree0

Newcastle don't need McCarthy since they have Krul.
