Brandon Barker is set to sign on a season long loan from Manchester City

Don't know how anyone else feels but I just prefer them to be our players not loans. Could just be putting themselves in the shop window , no passion for the club

Totally agree Lancaster White. As I put in a previous post loan signings really haven't worked for us in the last few years (Wickham, Livermore, Townsend. ) with the exception of Bamba HOWEVER Barker is in the last year of his contract so if he is shipped out on loan he has to know his man city days are numbered. As a result he may give his all to prove his worth and maybe we can get him for a cut price development fee. That said I would still rather have a solid, proven player on a permanent.

Loaning Adryan worked well last season in that we had the option to buy and then realised he was not for us.
Loaning premier league young players helps club seriously challenge, chelsea and middlesborough last season where Karanka clearly had a hand from Mourinho but if Uwe has a little bit of love at Man City still why not take advantage.
So long as we sign a decent expeirnced midfielder i'd take a couple of loan players with a bit of pace.

on the other hand how many do we loan out

dont mind loan siginings, they often have more to play for and can make a great impact. You could argue they have no love for club but then some perminant signings don't have that love either. Prefer none loan players but prefer loan players to nothing

I think it all depends on the mentality of the person you're signing. I don't mind 1 month loans that turn to longer because it gives you the option to send them back after you've seen them. But a full season loan for a player you know nothing about initially is always a fix. But in some places it works and others it doesn't.
I've always said the same, the leeds crowd are brilliant but you have to be a certain type of player to play in front of them. All we want to see is someone fighting for the cause. But sometimes it looks like we get on a players back and some players especially the big time premier loanees don't like it. It must be some kind of good mental experience though because how many loans have we had who were rubbish but went on to play in Prem each week and England lol . We'll that's my excuse anyway lol
