Totally agree Fawksey. People talk as though Bates hasn't ever given managers cash for the team. He gave Blackwell a rubbish load of money when he wasn't really in a position do so. To be fair, he gave Grayson plenty - he just spent like a tosser. The McShefferry & Doyle loans from Coventry cost us almost £2m after we got promotion. Grayson made bad choices at the end of the day. The likes of O'Brien, Varynen, Forsell, and many more would have all been on top money and wouldn't have come cheap. Grayson went for quantity rather than quality. He managed his budget badly. He brought in a lot of players os the same level of ability instead of bringing in 1 or 2 of top quality and backing the squad up with good youngsters at the club. Grayson got it totally wrong. You can't blame Bates for how Grayson spent the money. Bates let's his managers manage the club. He gives them a budget and it's up to them how to spend it. Grayson made awful decisions in the transfer market. FACT.

Has anyone else heard the Becchio to Leicester rumour tonight? I live in Leicester so unfortunately most of my friends are Foxes fans, one has just text me saying that Luciano is having a medical at Leicester and is assuming that Beckford would come to us.

No players to be signed today unless we can find a few bob for diouf, more worrying for me is if there is no money to pay loanees wages either then despite the great start the lads have made the squad is too thin to cope with injuries and suspensions. The T/O will drag on for as long as we remain in the mix for promotion so providing potential buyers remain interested dont expect this to happen until there is no chance of auto or play offs.

If you watch the NW interview he clearly states where we stand with new players. We wont sign anyone as we have no funds. Diouf has been offered a 5k contract, but has better offers abroad. From reports he wants 2yrs which is understandable at his age, I say just give it him we need need the options wide and forward. NW also wants to bring in another forward this will either be on loan of free agent but will wait to see who is availble once PL teams have named thier squads. If we can off load the listed players will free up as much funds as we can to get the best striker available. If the takeover happends its a bonus but we just need to get behind the team. I'm makeing the trip up north to cheer on the lads this weekend its gonna be tough but lets hope we can put in a good shift and grind out the 3 points! MOT

I am not sure of the exact figure but promotion to the premier league and all the extra revenue must run into a tidy old sum. Leeds to sign 3 players tomorrow in a frantic day at Elland Road.
2 are free agents and a deal is close already for them. Those 2 are Buazacky and Reo-Coker.
The third player is Matt Ritchie a deal is close to sign the winger.
These deals will be funded by Danny Pugh, Rachubka and Nunez all leaving the club to free up wages for these signings.
Just cant see it happening, both Nunez and Rubber Gloves refusing to go quietly, particular Rubber Gloves, Nunez hopefully will sign for Bradford City today and to be fair no one wants Rubber Gloves, Danny Pugh expected to join Doncaster on Loan.
