Well its all set nw movers upstairs & Gus in as first team coach in may

Believable19 Unbelievable95

Why does everyone think Warnock will be leaving his role as manager?

He only signed a 1 year contract....... he clearly will see that out before anything else happens

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be more than happy with that but very much doubt it !!

Agree0 Disagree0

Gus Hiddink....yes please!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be happy with that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bull. NW want's to get a record 8 promotion on CV then retire from the game and live his life down cornwall.

David O'Leary to replace Warnock in the summer.

Believable17 Unbelievable153

OMG I hope not

Agree3 Disagree0

Have been a sesaon ticket holder for over 25 years and if Oleary comes back I have done. He was one of the main culprtis for the clubs fall from grace he simple got found out as a Manager, in short he is not good enough. If he was he would be in the game managing a Premiership club. {Ed013's Note - I seem to remember O'Leary playing decent football and bringing through the youth until he lost the dressing room. A true story is that O'Leary valued a player at lets say 8 million and then Ridsdale would go and pay 12 after O'Leary said no more than 8! O'Leary had his faults, but don't pin it all on him! I cant see him coming back and like you said, if he was that good he would be managing at a decent level now. I just cant see how he was to blame as we had some great times with him in charge}

Agree0 Disagree1

I like David O'Leary (even though he did sign some shocking players like fowler) but come on........ that just the stupidest comment I have read in a very long time.

Agree1 Disagree1

Stop talkin absolute rubbish maybe we could have peter reid as his no 2 and the thug from the sheff wed game as the goal keepin coach too

Agree2 Disagree0

No warnock to stay on

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm with Ed on O'Leary. He did a great job and was ousted by the dressing room. However, the release of the book at the time it was done was a huge error in judgement that drove that dressing room mutiny.

imho... I won't say fact because it's a rumour site, so let's say educated guess 1) Warnock will not get replaced unless we get promoted, if we don't he'll stay on for 1 more year max, if we do he'll either go or stay on as director of football or summink akin to that. IF we get promoted I see us getting an international name, such as Gus Hiddink, God-forbid Sven-Goran Eriksson, or Capello but only if Russia's out of WC qualifying by then. I think we'll have that profile and financial clout, plus any manager worth his salt will look at us as a spring-board to bigger and better things, either with us as the next big thing or with a MancU, Chels, etc

Agree0 Disagree1

If O'Leary comes back due to Warnock retiring then i for one would be a very satisfied Leeds fan, if he replaces him and Warnock stays in the game then i think questions will have to be asked of the board, which ever it may be. In the small time that NW has been here you can see a massive improvement, not as good as we could be but we're not far off. I think Warnock could make Leeds a big team again and Leeds could give Warnock the credit he deserves and help him prove that he is a premier league manager! M.o.T

Agree1 Disagree0

David oleary was probably one of our most successfull managers he fetched through youth players also he was never involved in any transfers or what there wage was or how much they was paid seth johnson himself said i never talked to oleary untill i was announces as a leeds player

Agree1 Disagree0

O'Leary did a great job at Leeds. look what we achieved. He blooded young players and took risks, and we could DEFEND! Him coming back would be a mistake, but i don't hold a grudge against him. His book was ill-judged, but Ridsdale made him a scapegoat cos he gambled everything on us getting in the CL, and sacked him when we finished 5th. People have short memories.

Agree2 Disagree0

DO only brought the youth through because he was the one in charge as they was ready for the first team, it was Sgt wilko's work 10 yrs earlier that put that youth system together.

I personly think Leeds fall was all in charge from PR, DO and the board, I also think the board made PR a scapegoat.

s this the next phase, of ex leeds returning!

Agree0 Disagree0

I heard this a couple of months ago. Warnock to take us up, then it's redknapp with Middle East money in the premiership

Agree0 Disagree0

What ? its halloween not april fools !

Agree1 Disagree0

What bout George graham playing smithy and jimmy together up front kewel etc etc...to me that was the catalyst of what o Leary walked into...
And o

Agree0 Disagree0

It was O'Leary who gave Smith his debut not George Graham. Graham ignored the youth team even after Paul Hart said they were ready, thats why Hart left.

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop living in the past.

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont hate o'leary but I just dont trust his judgement with signings, he had a good core of youth players which he utilized well but he spent a lot of money on very average signings. The only two players that he signed that I can remember being of a standard capable of taking the team forward were Rio (who we made money on) and Dacourt.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Warnock retires or is replaced I would welcome O'Leary back with open arms. It was he that had us playing open attacking football and gave our youths a chance. As for losing the dressing room? Wasn't it this same dressing room that couldn't wait to jump ship after our relegation? Smith, Bowyer, Kewell etc? At least O'Leary had and still has Leeds in his heart.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eddie Gray did all the work to get those youth players to the standard they were at. O'Leary only played them because he didn't have anyone else. Yes, he took the gamble and it paid off - credit for that, but the reason it paid off was because Eddie did the work.

Agree0 Disagree0

To the poster above who says only good signings o'leary made were dacort n rio what about the great dom matteo leeds legend {Ed020's Note - dom mate, your one of my own personal legends, you don't need to toot your own horn!! lol}

From Ben Jacobs (BBC Middle East Sports Editor) -

" : David Haigh and his team from GFH are just about to meet with Lloyds TSB, the bank of Ken Bates, in Leeds.
8:44am - 31 Oct 12"

Jacobs is saying the deal has gone from the Lawyers to the Bankers. This would mean (if true) that the deal was done and the funds being transferred, which will allow for the final sign off. Jacobs is a fairly reliable source he, had lunch with Haigh last week in Dubai. He also called right the Joint Official statement between GFH/Bates last week 24hrs before it was posted. Fingers crossed, this is the end game.

What has Ben Jacobs previously been right on?

Friday lunchtime will be an announcement to press at ER

Believable34 Unbelievable35

That's I'd a educated guess. Could be true though. You're in the know as much as my left b****ck

Agree0 Disagree0

Only reason it might be true is because, yet again, no date is actually mentioned, and it therefore has a one in seven chance of being correct - if the takeover does actually happen that is, which is looking less and less likely as time goes by....

News on gfh. They are currently sending out investment prospectuses to potential investors for approx $1mill. each. This activity does seem to contrast with the view expressed by them that they have the money to finance the deal?! I do worry they have borrowed to finance this deal and leeds may find itself in strife after this. Also, as the popular speculation goes, if one of the big oil sheiks was behind this deal, then why these prospectuses?! Makes no sense whatsoever. I want rid of Bates more than anyone, the man is a leech and has proven he is at lufc to make money and nothing else, i dont think he cares about promotion while he turns a profit, but i do have doubts about gfh.

I hope im very wrong about them,

LLHB MOT

Believable33 Unbelievable17

You're wrong.

They're an investment bank and thus will be looking at a range of investment opportunities not just Leeds. This, if it's true, will be one of them.

Agree0 Disagree0

Youre also wrong that Ken Bates is a leech. He has steadied the club and then when knowing he himself couldnt take it further he has been man enough to find someone who can.

Some of you wouldnt do that for your own wives!

Ridsdale was the greedy one who wanted it all and blew the club apart and not many moaned until it all went tits up.

Leeds needed Ken Bates.

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh Dear...a Ken Bates follower...he made a fortune from selling Chelsea, bought Leeds for a pound a share...hasnt invested in the team whatsoever (despite his rantings over finances), sold our most gifted players (some for free!), embarrassed us in the courts by harrassing previous directors costing us a fortune and now he will pocket 52 million pounds from the sale! WHAT A SAVIOUR HE HAS BEEN!

Agree0 Disagree1

Bates is greedy he hasn't put any money into the club not even 1p he has taken millions over the yrs and is unwilling to dig into his own cash to support leeds through another season and as no choice but to sell.
yes he steadied the club but with the clubs assets which anyone could of done .

Agree0 Disagree1

What about all leeds debt he has taken on? theres a reason y leeds shares got sold for a quid. if it wasn't for bates you would be no more. ungrateful leeds fans. htfc fan

Agree1 Disagree0

You lot are all wrong ken bates bought Chelsea for a £1. He paid 10million for Leeds united fact

ORIGINAL POSTER...

The prospectuses are specifically to invest in LUFC alone. I have reflected on this and it may be a legit way of them to spread the risk and possibly to generate a budget to pursue promotion. Either way does dispel the idea that sheik muhammad bin whatshisname is bankrolling this behind the scenes.

LLHB MOT

Ps Bates is a person, watch him turn up with a chelsea scarf when we play them, hate him, hate chelsea, hurry up and fluke off to your tax dodging dominion and leave us alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

He put them into administration to basically wipe the debt. Rebranded the club under Leeds AFC, gained ownership, committed none of his own funds to the new entity then sold it for a handsome profit.

Leeds united have been linked with Charlie Austin as he has a reputation with sean dyche, Leeds will be getting himon loan until january then we will be buying him for a fee of around £3.5 million. I have good sources.

Believable11 Unbelievable73

We can't loan him as I've just bought him on FIFA 13, which is exactly where you should go back to playing.

This could be true as Charlie Austin type of warnock player
And if t/o happens this may well happen

Agree0 Disagree0

Good sources? Ketchup BBQ and Mayonaise?! If your source was that good you would clearly state a name, you're just like the rest on here who claim they have inside knowledge but never give a name and are usually always wrong! If you're right then fair play to you and it would be an fantastic signing probably the best we could get for this level! But were Leeds, we never sign any big name players who everyone wants haven't done for years!! If you're right ill buy you a crate of beer! PickersLUFC, were off to Wembley 2013!!

Agree0 Disagree0

That's more like it -terrific player at this level. Poor old SG got the wrong one from the old Swindon partnership when he brought us Paynter! Chapel A
