Denton been recalled from his loan spell at port Vale. I gather he played a bit there, but was overlooked at times. Could it be we will play him on Sunday in the cup match with the view to giving him a run out at LB in the first team. Moving Barack further forward into midfield?

Think it's more likely Bera will be at right back.

Can't understand the wish to play Berardi in midfield . Unless it's ammo for the " TC, play players in their correct positions " brigade when it goes wrong He's a right back In an ideal world cover/competition for luchiano ayling our normal sarf American fullback In other news. Vela . Depends on fee. Adam clayton and Bono . not sure. Don't think he fits our " plan" Fully expect 2 spaniards, 1 Dutch lad and an u12 French kid to arrive this month Along with a month of "vierra, he no for sale" as Bournemouth and Southampton wave lots of cash our way * replace vierra with Jansson
Saiz On alternate days Oh and a deadline day raid by Norwich on one of our u23s who they later sell for £30m January. A month of hope and fear

Controversy warning! Do you think Radz is truly targeting promotion this year? I appreciate he certainly wouldn’t turn it down but unlike a lot of owners he’s only ever stated an expectation of the playoffs.

When you look at our most recently linked signing, he’s just a boy falling under that well used phrase ‘one for the future’. The future for us fans is always the next game we play of course, I personally would rather we signed Hugil but that will cost considerably more. Then when the Team slumped and we all wondered whether TC would survive, the buzz word used consistently by Radz and TC was the “project” “long term project” Buying the ground back was amazing for us but also strategically vital for Radz.

I would think we will know for sure post this transfer window as to whether there is genuine intent to get promoted this year IF we use some of the Wood/Taylor transfer funds. Of course I want promotion as soon as possible and my passion for achieving that certainly clounds my judgement. But Radz is a very very astute businessman certainly far cleverer than me, so is the plethora of young players we continue to stockpile all to do with next seasons assault or god forbid the season after?

Probably our most telling my transfer window for many seasons, still a better problem to have than what we’ve endured in previous seasons. Personally hope we buy proven championship players to go with what we’ve got, Hugil, Madine, Kayal, Walton (Brighton Keeper at Luton is sensational) and a experienced left back whom I’m struggling to find. Classof92, glad you clarified your post with the controversy warning, don't want a post that asks questions of the club to labled negative. Agree with your sentiment and agree AR does have a good business brain. We do seem more geared towards building for the future rather than the present, although I believe AR hoped the recruitment to the first team squad at the beginning of the season would be enough to get us up. For a time it looked to be going that way, but unless we strengthen for a real play off push this transfer window, I believe we will fall short.

I think his intentions have been made very clear from the start; one step further than last year, which means the play offs. I don't think he's ever openly stated that promotion was a target for this year, and doubt we will see the investment in this window to push for it. Reckon we will have to be patient for a little longer yet. tho I still find the positives in the whole "investment for the future" thing.

I agree lads. Promotion this year to any business man is a no brainer but play offs or at least a valiant effort would not be a failure. If we keep all our assets intact. We, seemingly, have the foundations in place, with a little winter/summer recruitment, for a concerted effort next season. This season a glorious failure will be accepted by most fans but next year; expectations will be higher and possibly automatic promotion is the only target.

I agree totally Brightwhite The point I was trying to convey was as much as I want us to be promoted this year every year. The ‘project’ may have always been a 2/3 year deal. So when you asses against the project, ground repurchased lots of exciting talent for the future, attendances up. It’s going exactly as Radz hoped/planned for. Which is probably why Radz appears so calm and pragmatic on his Twitter posts whenever we have slipped up! I’m very happy, just passionate to get back to where we belong, as we all are.

I can see the promotion aim being the next few years but we will take it if it comes earlier. we won't be spending over the odds and it looks like we are clearly aiming to develop our team from the youth ranks either to sell on for decent money or to add to our own first team. I can't see it being this year for promotion myself.

Didn't he say " within 3 years or he'll let someone else try" I think he's spot on Look at the money some other clubs spent ( owls) last year. They'd swap with us right now Slow and steady sometimes wins the race If he'd have been in charge when ridsdale was I suspect we'd have been a lot better off in the last 15 years

4 players needed this month IMO.

1. Left Back, berardi is good but as we saw at the weekend, when required needs to fill in on the right, we need an out and out, stephen ward at burnley could be an option, been promoted before, contract expires in the summer, taylor starting perform might mean that he makes way for us.

2. a holding midfielder. The more i see him, the less i like him. okane is a player that seemingly is going unnoticed, and without him in the side our record isn't great, and seemingly vieira is the better player. Having vieira and phillips as our starting 2 holding midfielders i think this is strong, and if klich was first choice i'd be happy too, but he's not so we need to change this. Again charlie adam comes to mind and is available in the summer, so worth a punt IMO.

3. A left winger - Jese from stoke would be a steal, again a free agent in the summer, big wages but well worth the money and exactly something we need. Would be on another level with the likes of saiz hernandez and alioski.

4. Finally, Chris wood. if we kept woody in this team i'd say top 2 should be expected, however we didnt, we took the money and now need to reinvest it as i don't think we have yet, i'd have said we have another 8-10 million of it left after summer. and that's a decent amount to get a good foreign player.

Or alternatively i think a raid on newcastle would do us some good. Sign Ayoze perez, mitrovic, and colback, and that'd be me happy for business, but it won't work like that and i can't see all 3 dropping down. Who knows? What do we need?

Are you referring to Jesé that came through the age groups at Real Madrid and then was sold to PSG and sent to stoke to get game time this season? I hope you aren't actually thinking that is a realistic option

6 months left on his stoke contract, why not agree to sign him in the summer? Can probably afford wages on loan.

Jese is on loan from PSG. In 6 months when his Stoke contract expires he will be returning to PSG. As far as i'm aware he is reported to be earning over £100k a week with Stoke paying a percentage of this. In the same way we do with Lasogga. If PSG do not rate/ want him. they will cash in. He will still go to a top team in european competition probably back to Spain and still probably earn close to what he does now. I believe all of these points effectively rule us out of signing Jese lol.

I agree dynamo someone like Jesé who could be playing for a club competing in European competetition would never drop to championship level.
