Just to stop the rumours Neil R has got the job till the end of the season. No rush to appoint a new manager at this juncture. If he impresses he could get the nod for next year. Owners are impressed with the acadamy and with no investment the youth policy is the clubs only real future.

He's stated he doesn't want job (tv).

He doesn't want the job, he has stated that fact several times

Thanks for your interesting observation, but I am not entirely sure that you have got the hang of this. You are writing on a "rumours" page. We don't want to stop the rumours - in fact the more outlandish they are, the more I am amused (Mark Hughes being the funniest so far).

Think we have got the hang of it, rumours with any sort of belief, hearsay, substance not goof opinions
Agree0

The Mark Hughes rumour was not in the slightest bit funny.
Set off me angina and had a neet int hospital.
Agree0

He stated he would not apply for the job not that he does not want it. As I said if he does well iover the next few weeks he will be def. In the frame.

Gordon strachan for next manager one of the leeds greats also good manager and available can't believe he's not been already mentioned? {Ed013's Note - Only just taken the Scottish job so can't see it}

Ed. Sometimes I just shake my head with disbelief. {Ed013's Note - In what way?}

Ed. Strachan has been Scotland Manager since Jan 15th. Would of thought most Leeds Fans would be aware of that fact. {Ed013's Note - Still not long is it}

I can remember it was the last time we won away, and that seems ages ago.

Strachan was awful at Boro in the Chmpionship. its a good thing he is in the Scotland job!

Is this guy havin' a laugh strachan is a sh*t manager.

Stachan's Boro squad came pretty good, this year. Hasn't changed that much since he left.
Actually don't think Strachan wants the job. Has never reallyindicated he fancies it. Quite the opposite, in fact. Seems to think he'd be given a rough ride by the fans.
In any case, I think Strachan's time at Celtic 'broke' him. Fans never really took to him and was constantly fighting off a hostile Rangers favouring media. A few years as Scotland manager with much lower expectation may see him getting back to his best. we'll see. Can't ever see him in the Leeds job, though.

Because he`s got the scotland job

O'Leary would excite me more than anyone, then Poyet. McD, O'Neill, Hughes, boring run of the mill! Let's ignore the usual merry go round and go for something different.

I agree with you fellar give o'leary a second bite at the cherry surely he can't do any worse than warnock did
Agree0

McDermott for me, proven at this level, think he would do us proud on & off the field.

I too would be happy with o Leary and would like Martin Keown to be his no 2. Always seems to talk sense and is obviously a scholar of the game.

I'm origal poster oleary wiv a bit if money and youth excites me! Think wiv this combo he's got to be the ryte man

Yep. come on david let's ave it

Mcdermott may well be proven at this level. but was warnock not the same? and I think were still in the same league. but a whole lot worse off.
Agree0

I don't think Hughes is a good choice. I'm not sure who I'd want, but after reading these posts, I think I quite like the idea of O'Leary returning. Our youth system at the moment is pretty much back to its former glory as it was under Wilko/Hart/Graham, and although he didn't buy brilliantly, he was spot on with youth. The scouting system we have under Gwyn Williams (found Becchio and Snodgrass) will help his transfers be more shrewd, and I think he might actually make it work!

Can't say O'Leary and money are an ideal match.

I really don't rate O`Leary at all

We did have success under DOL

I've been calling for oleary for months and have been posting on here about it, I agree with the above comment that with a bit of funding and a prospering youth team he could do well, not saying we'll be back in CL anytime soon but I reckon he can take us up and keep us

I think O'Leary is culpable. The players who came through were due to Paul Hart. He bought Johnson, Wilcox and Fowler and subsequently bought even worse players for Villa, including a donkey from Man U. When we were losing, he never made a substitution and he looked after his own finances with his book at the expense of the club.
This band wagon needs stopping in its tracks
Agree2
Disagree0
David O'Leary, you've got to be joking? The only reason he had any success at all is he was bankrolled by Pete GetRidsdale and it nearly bankrupt us. He's proved nothing since he left Leeds a decade ago or more!
Agree2
Disagree0
Have you all gone mental Odreary hasn't managed a competitive team since 2006/7 have you all forgotten we took El Tel after a 10 yr break and it showed. Getting him back doesn't magically get the old days back it gets you a manager who hasn't managed professionally in the english league for 7 years! Wheres his contacts what players can he bring to the club what does he know about the game now! Surely we need a manager on the rise not someone who has been sacked or we should get them on past glories! It doesn't work! Never would be too soon for Odreary for me! MOT

NO NO NO Oleary has proved beyond doubt he is useless.
the Villa days showed that
And the subsequent chairman scramble to get his signature for the last 8 years.
Anyone with half a footy brain knows this guy was lucky to get leeds when he did.
And I agree a manager should know what he is spending and is definately culpable with ridsdale for what happened.

O'Leary has a 43, 52 % Win ratio which is pretty impressive as a manager, I would like to see he back at Leeds and I think he would like to be back too. He brought a lot of youth through when he was in charge last time and we played attractive football. There are so many old players in the squad now, it needs clearing out

MORE THAN 10 YEARS AGO! Move on Son he would be terrible for LUFC.

Why do certain people want to keep going on about old managers and players, every time we sack a manager people want to bring back o'leary, or strachan or grayson, every transfer window, smith is coming back or hulse or any other of 15 hasbeens. I for one am sick to death of it. I would like a new young manager in, I don't want overated o'neill, or hasn't done any managing for years o'leary, I don't want grayson who has not long since left the club, I don't want poyet who went of to be a coach at spurs the first chance he got, I don't want sparkey hughes who even with money couldn't run a bath let alone a team. someone new please, who will get us playing some sort of passing football on the floor and get rid of the old past it players that colin bought in who are just collecting a wage and are hasbeens!

David O'L spotted in South Yorkshire and apparently talking to Leeds fans. OK. so he lives round this end of the country. but it's worth stokin' the rumour mill.

Steve parkin is in Dubai now trying to raise £50m. £20 million to buy out GFH [100%] £20 million for transfers and £10 million for ER/TA. He is seeking backing from Qatar based individuals and organisations. GFH are still short of the final payment to Master Bates due on 01/05

Gfh sell a club they bought for 23 million for 20 million great work.
They have sold 10% so can only sell 90% which they wouldn't sell that for 20 million.
They value club at 30 million parkin will still only attempt to take 51% which would probably cost 17 million .
Agree0

I don't want Leeds to be bought by someone who doesn't have the money himself. Another Ridsdale on the way.
Agree0

Final payment to Bates? A national newspaper has already had to print a correction that GFH has been paid Bates already (last yeat when the club was sold - funnily enough). They own 90%, 10% owned by IIB

Looks like poyet will be interested in the leeds job come summer if Brighton miss out on promotion. Apparently Brighton have already rejected an approach by leeds, and if rumours are true and it could cost leeds over a couple of million, could be a a few bob above our price range. but what a statement it would be!
