Leeds are one of a few clubs to have made an enquiry to Vienna about Phillip Hosiner. Great goalscoring record, but in a poor league. However, Bmc sees him as a front target, hold up man with an eye for goal, releasing Morison to the wing where he was most effective when playing for Millwall. {Ed013's Note - Ignore my last comment to this, I was mistaken}

Believable4 Unbelievable38

Yeah he's at Austria Wien, cracking player. can't see him moving to the Championship mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's been linked with QPR and Newcastle doubt we can contend TBH

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember another striker who was linked with QPR and then we signed him.

Haribibaoaoabiba

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, hope this is true, someone said he's in the Viduka mould

Agree0 Disagree0

In the mould of Viduka? You mean he spends half the season overweight until a month before either transfer window opens and coincidentally plays out of his skin?
Always nice to have a player so focused. albeit on his own contract negotiations.

Agree0 Disagree0

Terrible player no thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

Viduka is yet another ex-Whites player who still gets a disproportionate amount of stick. Funny how for some people it's all about body language, as opposed to end product. Hence the lauding of the Smiths and Bairds of this world at the expense of the Vidukas -strange! Viduka had an unhurried style in part because his control was so fantastic. Believe me, if he was playing at a top club now, he'd be being raved about constantly. Better than Berbatov, who cost £30m at his peak; and not that far behind Bergkamp, in my opinion. One of the best players I've had the pleasure of watching week in, week out. Incidentally, the only season where a flurry of goals seemed to coincide with a forthcoming window was the one he almost single-handedly saved us from relegation (02-03) -maybe we should be thanking him for that! Chapel A

Agree1 Disagree1

Totally agree, Viduka was THE most skillful player we've had at Elland Road in the last 10-15 years. I've always said the English game, although he did very well in it, didn't suit his style of play, if he'd have played in the Italian league he'd have been a superstar.

Sam Byram will not be going anywhere unless a ridiculous offer is made for him i. e 10 million plus.

Will J Russell's agent stop publicising is availability on this site, sick to the back teeth of reading the same comment. He will not be a Leeds Player, simple.

BM, will raid Reading of at least two players Pre-season of that I don't doubt. One will be Noel Hunt I would imagine of we can give him the wage he wants.

ED013 is a cracking winger, sign him up. Should of scored a few in tonight 4-4 draw mind.

WB Gaffa. {Ed013's Note - I am happy with my assists ;-)

Believable21 Unbelievable8

Agent or mother or father but your right this has to stop now! No more Russell s*** talk please!

My mate who plays for villa u18s has told me Barry Bannan has been in contact with Leeds. Make of that what you will.

He's not doing an Odemwingie is he?

Arsenal supporting friend of mind, reckons Wenger wants Byram to replace Sagna, who's going back to France

he told me, 4.5m plus adds on with Zak Ansah coming on loan for a season

could well be rubbish, just to scare me!

Believable5 Unbelievable70

Rubbish! Byram isn't French for starters!

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't be surprised if there's loads people keeping tabs on him. Even if its more of future investment. He'll be heavily watched in the u20's, and if he does well, which I'm sure he will and make us all proud then brace yourself for more firm interest to hot up! What you reckon ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

They already have a good young RB in Carl Jenkinson. If they wanted to replace Sagna surely they would use him if they wanted youth or bring in someone a little more experienced. Wenger has promised to stop bringing in young players and sign some big names this summer to try and win something. Also about 4m short of what other teams are supposedly willing to offer so am guessing he is pulling your leg.

Gummie

Agree0 Disagree0

That wouldn't reach Leeds valuation.

Agree0 Disagree0

Scare you? he's obviously getting your hopes up m8 that's all, never going to happen wenger would have 2 b crazy

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont worry it is rubbish we've apparently told cardiff we wanted 8m soo 4. 5 can't be right

Lewis McGugan has tonight been rumoured to be potentially one of Brian McDermott's targets.

The move however is very unlikely. The 24 year old midfielder has strong interest from newly promoted Cardiff City and Nottingham Forest are still keen to offer McGugan a new contract and keep him at the club.

McDermott is believed to have made an offer but move as I said is very unlikely.

Brian McDermott is close to securing his first signing as Leeds manager by bringing in defender Reece Wabara from Manchester City for £850,000

Believable46 Unbelievable15

He's going to be free

Agree1 Disagree0

He is out of contract in July so he would cost nothing

Rumours that byram is going to city for 8 million and Reece Wabara

Believable15 Unbelievable40

Ive made this comment before, but how the hell can ManC buy players without a manager in place and esspecially a 19 years old championship RB who may not ever play for them.
Its damn right irresponsible and wrong. No wonder the national team isn't going anywhere.

Agree0 Disagree0

He can become poker buddie with Sinclair

Agree0 Disagree0

How the hell can Man City buy players without a manager, well that's easy to answer Roberto Mancini was first team manager at Manchester City, he was not responsible for player recruitment.

Player recruitment is controlled and handled by Brian Marwood and not the manager. Mancini repeatedly informed the press that this was the situation and informed them of his frustration with this practice.

He also stated that Marwoods failure in the summer of 2012 was the reason why City failed to retain their title as a direct result Man City brought in Txiki Beguiristain to oversee player recruitment in his capacity of Director of Football.

That my friends is why Manchester City are buying players without a manager installed.

Agree0 Disagree0

BM stated during interview that he had 4 bids on players at other clubs but absolutely NO bids on any player at Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wabara is gna be a free agent soon so that's not gna happen

Hot news, from a strong source within the club. Leeds will be announcing their first signing of the season in Johnny Russell. This is IMMINENT. Between 700-800k is believed to be the fee agreed. Also, Leeds second target is a bit of a strange one. BMD is looking into the possibility of signing ex leeds defender Michael Killgallon as Matt Mills has proved too expensive. Also, Brown expected to leave the club on a free as he has been offered a player/coach role at another club.

Believable31 Unbelievable24

I had an idea that Russell was going to Derby instead?

Agree0 Disagree0

The Courier in dundee has reported that a 750k offer has been agreed with Derby, unless there are 2 offers on the table I don't see him coming.

they do report that the decision is his though, so maybe, just maybe.

He would be a good addition, especially as him and Ross Mc seem perferct for each other.

Agree0 Disagree0

Matthew Killgallon*** Sorry.

Agree0 Disagree0

All Believable except that brown will leave on a free as he has just been offered a 1 year deal, which is in his contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

Tv are reporting that Russell's team dundee UTD have accepted Derbys bid for him so not so imminent.

Agree1 Disagree0

Dundee have accepted a bid from Derby, Looks like we'll miss out yet again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dundee United last night accepted Derby County’s latest offer for prize asset Johnny Russell. According to papers

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh god, not that word 'imminent' again

Agree0 Disagree0

~ah~ that word IMMINENT again. A lot like the word FACT should have its definition rewritten

Agree1 Disagree0

No fee agreed or player signed according to Derby tv

Agree0 Disagree0

Well according to derby on sly sports they have NOT agreed a fee as of yet. there is still hope

Agree0 Disagree0

DERBY? LEEDS? they both have 5 letters and an E in the name so could be mistaken

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jun 2013 16:59:41
we only 'miss out' if we were really ever interested

Agree1 Disagree1

Yeah whatever imminent again and again and its matthew kilgallon not michael you fool

Agree0 Disagree0

Russell has joined Derby County, not Leeds. He was never in the running to come to Leeds and the player himself wanted to join Celtic.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reported on a well known sports website that Derby are saying they have NOT agreed a fee for Russell

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds didn't have a player called Michael Kilgallon. They did have one called Matt Kilgallon. {Ed013's Note - Mate s/he got his name wrong, give her/him a break}

Agree0 Disagree0

Really well then how come Dundee U have agreed a fee with Derby? We better be quick. MOT

Phil Hey has spoken with BM who states he has made offers to four players. Wouldn't specify whether they were for transfer fees or free transfers.
I would imagine that two of the offers would be for Wabara and Noel Hunt. should be an interesting two weeks as players return from their holidays

Believable12 Unbelievable12

Will be even more intersting when in 2 weeks time we have nobody or a couple of #hitty free transfers, apparantly Church being one of them.
Same old same old! being out bid by the likes of Derby. Mcdermott will be pulling his hair out (errrrrrrrrrr )
Please someone give me some optimism, i'm beggining to #iss myself off!

Been told by a friend who is on the coaching staff at Bristol City that an enquiry from Leeds was made for Adomah. Bristol City named an asking price. My friend wouldn't name the price but said it was '' a reasonable price that the majority of Championship clubs would be willing to pay '' but LUFC then closed negotations saying that the valuations between the two clubs were way too far apart to even begin serious discussions.

My friend said he was massively surprised given that Leeds are the biggest club in the division and have new owners and also the quality of the player. Went onto say McDermott wasn't involved in the talks ( presumably Shaun Harvey? ) and that he expects Adomah at another Championship club in the summer.

QPR, Cardiff, West Ham, West Brom, Hull, Newcastle And Hamburg have all made offical '' approaches '' to Leeds about Byram. I don't think offers have been made but those are the only clubs that have contacted us about Byram. Nothing from the real big boys, Liverpool, Man City etc. Byram hasn't done anything to suggest he wants out, but my mate ( who this has come from, works at the club ) says he doesn't expect Byram to be at Leeds and reckons he will be in a West Brom shirt come August. Says a deal involving Steven Reid is the rumour around the club.

Believable7 Unbelievable41

Everton made a bid and it was tunded down

Agree0 Disagree0

For 1 cardiff simply dnt have the kind of money it would take and he would have to b crazy to join qpr in the mess they r in and hull really? they only have 15 mill 2 spend so no way will they get him sorry but come on

Agree0 Disagree0

Cardiff City does have that kind of money. With the new TV deal, even the bottom placed team is guaranteed 120million. Even Swansea will be catapulted to the top 20% richest clubs in the world with that kind of revenue.

Brother in law has been working at Reading on and off for a good 20+ years and when football is concerned he's a very knowledgable guy and well connected. Anyway a few things I was told at a family do this weekend.

We've enquired about Shaun Cummings, we've been told Reading will listen to offers but none has been made at the moment. Brother in law says this is only likely to happen if Byram goes, he said McDermott plans for every situation. Added that we've got a great manager, if anything happens this summer, BMAC will have a plan to deal with it. Doesn't leave anything to chance.

Noel Hunt has a contract offer on the table and will sign it after his wedding which McDermott is attending. Brother in law described the relationship between the two to that of Paddy Kenny and Neil Warnock, but more professional.

McDermott is monitoring the situation of Jay Tabb, free agent.

Looking at James Henry at Millwall, enquiry made but Millwall said there will be no discussions until the managerial situation is sorted out at the club.

Michail Antonio at Sheffield Wednesday - Leeds enquired but were put off by the asking price, brother in law said '' no chance '' and laughed.

Finally, Stephen Hunt offered a trial, hasn't ruled it out but feels he will get up front contract offers. Didn't sound likely.

So only one real definite there, sorry I couldn't help you more. But definitely an interesting conversation and McDermott definitely seems to be interested in a lot of his ex players.

Believable9 Unbelievable19

04 Jun 2013 12:29:19
Three of the offers on the table that McDermott mentioned are Noel Hunt, Jay Tabb and Simon Church. Obvious Reading link there and all 3 are free transfers. Don't know the 4th player but knowing a Reading player has finally come useful for some interesting news. All are interested and i'd be surprised if they don't all sign. They won't get better. Mate says the only issue is with Tabb and Church wanting guarenteed first team football and they aren't sure about that at Leeds. But my mate reckons they'd have to drop to League 1 for guarentees like that and he doesn't think they will.

Believable2 Unbelievable11

04 Jun 2013 12:24:58
Simon Church all but signed. All been verbally agreed and will be signed when he's returned from holiday. He's back on friday but due at Thorpe Arch on monday morning. Shouldn't be any problems with the medical and it's a two year deal. Free transfer from Reading.

Believable9 Unbelievable14

Hope Not! This is one shocking player!
LUFC KEK

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard this from someone who works closely with Leeds United

Leeds have tabled a bid in the region of £750,000 for Norwich winger, Elliott Bennett. Brian McDermott is also looking at out of contract, Chris Humphrey, however Bennett is his main target.

Believable3 Unbelievable17

Is this the same Chris Humphrey who has just signed from Motherwell to Preston?

tv say Stoke City may be willing to offload promising Goalkeeper and U21 England International Jack Butland for a season loan, if, and only if they are able to open contract discussions with Asmir Begovic. For me this has to be an option to look at, as I think Paddy Kenny may be a little past his sell by date (something that by looking at his physical condition, he knows all too well about).

Reece Wabara to sign in the coming week from Manchester City for around 800k. let's hope is as successful as Sam Byram at Leeds.

Believable18 Unbelievable13

Hes a free agent

I'd say let's hope he's not a replacement for Sam Byram

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he is a free agent is he? He's still got a year left I thought

Agree0 Disagree0

His contract ends next year but YEP are suggesting man city will let him leave for free. I would imagine he will come on loan for a season and due to him being a free agent then, if he's a success he will be signed permanently
