whats everyones opinion on lonergan. im 50/50 on him. good shot stopper but horrible at crosses.

Believable= for him to be no1 nxt year on

Im 50/50 with him too. i dont think its a priority as he is a decent keeper. buy rest of the team and if money left over, buy a better keeper i say.

Very good keeper at this level.with a good defence in front of him he wil be sound.hes been good for leeds all season and as recieved stick from some stupid minority recently.at this level we arent going to get anybody better.with a good defence he wouldnt look out of place in the prem.

Lonergan has to be one of the worst Leeds keeperes in the past 10 years! i agree he can be a good shot stopper but when it comes to commanding his area and distributing the ball quickly and efficiently he is dreadful. Also his positioning is all over the place! He comes off his line too early and is the president of 'no mans land'. Leeds should never have got rid of Kasper, look at the success hes had at Leicester, won two in-club awards this year.

A keeper is only as good as his defence and seems as though his defence has been dreadful for the past two seasons, at preston and leeds i suppose he hasnt really stood a chance. I hope he does well next season with a solid defence in front of him... doubt it though.

I think kicking is his down side but top draw shot stopper and dont think it helps with bad defence in front. j see him being a real catch next season, mot4life

I'd like some strong competition for him next season. We could do a lot worse the Kusack on a free, although i'd like to see Alex McCarthy return on a perm deal. Cant see Reading lettting him go though.

He will not be leeds' number 1 next season

I dont think we have seen the best of Loners yet. He doesnt become a poor keeper overnight, i think with a good solid defence in front of him his confidence will get better and therefore he will get better.

As for the crossess, there doesnt seen to be many keepers who fly out for crosses now and to be fair its the centre halfs job to head it away in the first place

I think he will retain his position come the start of the season.

Warnock doesn't put a substitute GK on the bench and I can't see Lonergan in the reserves.

I personally think replacing a no1 keeper is the hardest position to cover, and I think we need an experience GK in net this season.

I'd rather stick with Lonergan this season, as buying a keeper is always 50/50. Not making the comparison but even David De Gea showed problems at Man U.

Once you find a keeper, sometimes it's best to keep them in the net, as not many teams swap and change every year.

I just have a sneaking suspicion that Robbo will end his career here but not sure if that is next season. Dont think you can say Lonergan is the worst keeper for 10 years because to me all keepers are the same these days and stay inside their 6 yard box and stop shots, none command their area. The last keeper in my opinion which was all round was Martyn. If you put a good defence in front of a shot stopper the keeper will look world class, you just need to get defenders that can do the basics and forget playing.

Agree that our last good all rounder was martyn, a new goalkeeper is not the priority a new defence and new midfielder are the priorities. Having said that i think Lonners has been strictly average,and if there is the money when the rest of the squad has been bought then fine. Anyone but Paddy Kenny

I am not lonergans biggest fan, I would like to see Kieron Westwood, 3rd choice now at Sunderland, he's a top keeper

Would love kuschack (spelling :/), westwood or in my opinion our best keeper this year Alex McCarthy, even though he is prone to mistakes

Come on lets be honest, shot stopping is ok, he's wrist are weak which means a lot of the shots he gets to go in anyway, useless at crosses, bad postioning, bad decisions and quite often looks like a outfielder being stuck in goal. seen him a few times and he is unothox in a bad way. I thought the hunter was bad (ankergran) but thing longers may even top him as worse established number 1. Kushack and westwood would be good choices and i think we would be in with a shout of getting them. needs a keeper they make all the difference

Alex Mcarthy for me. Best keeper I have seen at Leeds for years.

Clingan has turned down Coventry offer.
I know some of you don't like him but i wouldn't be suprised to see him and/or Paul Green wearing our shirt pretty soon.

My mate who's a Derby fan told me Green has been after £23,000 a week at Derby and he's cr*p!

I know Green - He's not asking for anything like that. but not commiting to anyone yet until he's talked to family

I think you'll find there is a £20,000 wage cap next year(fact). So I think your very wrong my friend.

On SSN now, Warnock worried that White, McCormack, Snoddy not going to sign, all been offered improved contracts but he is worried at their reluctance to sign. Very worrying.

Fantastic signing in Pearce, him and some like Mills will be a fantastic CB partnership (probably the best in the Championship), and will give Lees some more experience (i can see him been a great CB). Any ideas on who we'll be getting at RB/LB though? As i think it's almost certain that White will be leaving. I was thinking maybe Lichaj if Villa go down?

I think this Clayton swap is highly unlikely, for me one player and a million quid will not cover a 5 million pound rated CB and a high earning striker, will be ecstatic if it happened and can't wait to see who else walks through the doors at elland road MOT!!

I know this has been mentioned already, but I live in Leicester and a few of my mates who are City fans have heard we are trying to get Mills and Beckford from them in exchange for Clayton and £1m. I wouldn't have thought they'd let both go for so little but never say never!
Also very happy with the Pearce signing, onwards and upwards! M.O.T.

Ed Whats happening with Bromby and Kisnorbo ? Is there something in there contract that will say they can't be released if injured ? {Ed020's Note - i can't imagine there is something in the contract that stipulates they can't be released if injured, but the majority/ if not the whole of there wages will be covered by the players insurance.}

I thought we only gave Paddy another year last year so am suprised he isnt going as think he is well past his best. Bromby has a few years left in him yet and NW likes the fact he can play in goal as well as along the back and in midfield if needed so a good player for the bench.

I f you release the player you have to pay thier wages off and also it doesn't paint a good picture for the club just releasing players who are longterm injured.

NW said he will need to have a look at Kisnorbo pre season. Bromby was in his plans as a squad player as he can play any position across the back & in goal. NW currently looking for a defensive utility player.

Jason pearce done deal! A football journalist on Twitter also said were trying to get Luke varney from Portsmouth too

I heard that about Varney a while ago, sounds promising.

There is some truth in this but he is from Leicester so Luke will be looking for midlands club. But the boss does like him so it maybe that he will want to talk to him

I read something in the Mirror about Varney today. It also claimed that Ross Mc Cormack has turned-down new deal. Anyone know about that?

Leeds are in talks with Cardiff's Peter Whittingham and with Leicester's Jermaine Beckford. Also Neil Warnock will trade Clayton with Mills

Would be great if true but we are'nt that ambitous!?

Would just love the Beckford rumours to be true - Beckford and Becchio in league 1 were a potent strike force and despite an injury hit season I think Becchio is a more rounded player now that he's the focus upfront - so would be an even better pairing now.

I was never Beckfords biggest fan as thought he was too greedy and selfish but watching him last week he seems to have learned a lot from his time at Everton and seemed to be better at linking play up , had a better first touch and worked harder so would love him back. Clayton would be a good swap for either Mills or Bamba.

To be a good striker you need to be greedy otherwise you would be always looking for the pass instead of shooting

Warnock said in the YEP that none of the youngsters are ready for the first team yet.

Y test him on the wing when he is a striker? he will go on loan probably to a league 1 or 2 club. he will be no where near the first team this coming season

Agree with above and he will go on loan as should most of the youngsters, send them to the same place Lees went as they seemed to look after them well. It is going to be awkward for them to progress if there is no reserve football for them only under 21.

This Clayton + add ons rumours, with Beckford coming our way wouldn't suprise me. Anyone that says Bates will not do this/or that should wait. Warnock said if he didn't get what he wants when he had the interview with Bates, he'll walk.

Leeds are interested in the availability of Bolton striker Ivan Klasnic he is out of contract in the summer and his performances seem to be interesting warnock, he would have to take a pay cut to sign up for Leeds!

Rooney won the award for best ever goal in the prem..Anyone agree that YEBOAH'S v Liverpool was better.

The one against wimbledon wasn`t bad either!!

They were great goals, but to be honest Bergkamp's v Newcastle where he spun around the defender and slotted it home was a pure gem. I doubt there's ever been many players who could even think about doing that, let alone manage it.

Plus di canios vs wimbledon aswel ? also... cisse vs chelski will be right up there now

Rooneys was the weakest goal i think, because, yes it takes an incredible amount of skill and precision, but so did all the others. but he was the onlyone who didn't take the ball into the area as well, so the others required skill, precision and great movement on the ball.

Yeboah, Le Tissier and Shearer scored the best goals in that list.

Have to agree with Le Tissier and Bergkamp; plus they scored outstanding goals on a number of occassions (as did Yeboah of course).

None will beat a certain Mr Gray's effort against Burnley...

Pre-premiership - how about Denis Law's backheel for Man City in 1974 against some team in red?
