Leeds United have signed Patrick Antielmi on a two year deal an 18 year old Australian striker, he refused to go to Portsmouth and Warnock has stepped in two snap him up. Not sure how good he is probably a squad player to cover for McCormack any one know more about him? how about you ed any info on this player... {Ed001's Note - all I can remember of him, is that he was an FM wunderkind a few years back.}

Ed - FM wonderkid? Whatever happened to Cherno Samba, Scott Brough, Mark Kerr and Kiegan Parker...?

LR, Northants (2001 CM afficionado!)

Agree0 Disagree0

Is he the "squad player" that NW has been talking about signing?

Agree0 Disagree0

He will probably play in reserves or go out on loan i would of thought unless hes better than poleon and maybe he will go out on loan instead ,cant see either of them been capable of the quality of mccormack

Agree0 Disagree0

I had Kenny Lunt when i took leeds to the top of the premiership on FM 2008. Always getting at least an 8/10 rating. Anyway back to this rumour - if its true fair enough good prospect to cover for rosco but once rosco is back loan him out to get experience. We seem to have a lot of good youngsters around at the moment but not exactly premiership standard....yet. I stick to what i have said before. no new loan signing of significance, with green and norris back we have adequate cover in midfield so diouf can continue up front. January is when we will pull of some shewd business. id like to see Kenwyne Jones, Winifed Zaha and Ben Watson come in.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he will go out on loan for a while first..

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats a load of rubbish signed a week ago and he has been put into academy and development squad the boy was at portsmouth for a while unill he was released when they went into adminalong with a lot of youth players the reason it took so long is the rules you cant be registered on 3 teams books in a 12 month period and he had been training with leeds since august he played in the academy team in a practice match in august

NW doesn't expect to see 19 goal machine RMc back before xmas !
Great thats all we need

Believable20 Unbelievable3

It would be more of an issue if we werent scoring goals

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats terrible news. I was hoping to have him back around November.
But indeed as usual goals aren't our problem even with Rossco out. Hopefully Luciano can keep up his goalscoring rate and Diouf, Austin, Byram keep chipping in with a few and we'll be ok.

Clean sheets anyone...

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably means that Davide Somma will be knocking 'em in before Rosco's fit again.

JDC

Agree0 Disagree0

Strikers are not an issue. We are still scoring 2 or 3 goals every game. Its the fact that we look very weak from every set piece that comes in to our box thats the worry. We're OK defensively in open play, but can't defend dead ball situations

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of rubbish from last replier please tell be bar Bolton games which ofcourse most teams will struggle with Knight and Davies, how many we have conceded from set pieces that were actually bad defensively. Cardiff scored a freekick but nothing to do with defence. Blackpool open play, cant think of many we conceded from set pieces tbh

Paul Connolly is looking for a way out of Leeds either on a loan deal or free transfer. Lets hope his wages may free up some funds for another signing.
MOT!

Believable36 Unbelievable3

Or even put it towards EHD's new contract

Agree1 Disagree0

Or wages for EHD.

Agree0 Disagree1

There's only diouf left really to tie down.
Use it on him see if we can fight with the squad till january and hope this bleedin T/O goes thru in time for us to invest

Agree0 Disagree0

Cancel his contract...Mutual agreement...If he's that open to leaving he'll agree to not having a payoff (not that he deserves one)

Agree0 Disagree0

Funny that Grayson not wanting him?
Ill chip in to pay his contract up
Russ

Agree0 Disagree0

Think everyones overlooking the important factor here in regard to these rumours about GFH's wealth.

Any individual/consortium/whoever need to fall under an acceptable standard of wealth and business assets to buy a football club under the FA Fit Persons and Ownerships process. This not only involves members of the FA investigating finances of prospective buyers, but also involves interviews to a particular extent, to that of the buyers and the existing club.

It's then up to the club and the prospective buyers to finalise terms between themselves and for the would be new owners to forge their business plan, if they havent got one already.

Believable13 Unbelievable3

The test is a joke.

a) Ken Bates has passed it.

b) Portsmouth had a fictitious Chairman pass it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeh i agree withe the first poster the fa rules probably arnt worth the paper theyre written on judging buy the kind of folk that run clubs around the country

Agree1 Disagree0

You have more faith in the FA than I do.They are a joke and hardly KPMG.

Agree1 Disagree0

Who's everyone !! its a minority and a few reporters who dont know what they are talking about saying they are going to load the club with debt not EVERYONE !! . Any sensible person with half a brain can go and look at thier real wealth you only have to look at thier assets.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did pompey alot of good. This test is meaningless

Continued speculation about the wealth of GFH is ridiculous, you only have to go on to the website to see that in 2007 they made a net profit of US$340m, not to mention the backing they have had from some of the worlds wealthiest men/countries for numerous other projects. The company are serious players in their field, they could if wanted to buy out a higher valued (in monetary terms) club but instead due to the CEO being an avid Leeds fan we find ourselves in a lucky enough position to have them wanting to take over our amazing club. What reports failed to tell you was that yeah the company come out and stated they had only made US$5m for the half year but they have assets of over US$819m, this is without mentioning what the individuals are even worth, reports are Salem Patel is worth in excess of $500m, if these are also true then I can't see how they are going to fail in the takeover of the club due to financial reasons! MOT SussexLeeds

Believable28 Unbelievable2

If I remember rightly, one of Ken Bates club statements said that 'he was more than satisfied with their funds' and this comes from the man who made Mr abromovich prove he had the money to buy Chelsea

Agree0 Disagree0

They recently also buy a Turkish Bank at a cost of £35-45m - this could explain some losses.
Original poster you are spot on. Uncle fester wouldn't get into bed with anyone (urghh bad mental image) without knowing their pockets are well lined.... he's a c**t but a shrewd old c**t and I bet he's the last one to buy a round too!

Agree0 Disagree0

The GFH website that they have invested over 8b in over 40 companies. Don't sound like they will struggle to me. MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

I think net profit really doesn't prove anything, as there is a big difference between profit and cash.

A company can have large annual net profits but can still be in financial difficulties as they do not have the current cash to pay off outstanding debts.

Profit I think is something intangible. Not having a pop at you, I'm not an investor and don't have much knowledge of their financing, but if there was something dodgy about them, then I don't think they would pass the standard chairman's credibility analysis or what ever it's called.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard they have been making huge losses and the company holds massive liabilities, have to remember they are purchasing the club on behalf apparently. Think someone needs to check the accounts, these processes the football league use are rubbish, processes dont tell you anything

Agree0 Disagree0

They're just fronting the takeover for a guy with cash. What kind of business sees it a worthy investment to buy a football club - clubs only lose money.

my mate spoke to Micheal Brown, he said we have an Australian CM on trail and looks impressive.

Believable21 Unbelievable10

I have heard this too, promising times

Agree0 Disagree0

Well it's not Tim Cahill, and he's the only quality CM they have.

04 Oct 2012 16:01:28
not harry kewell is it ???

Agree0 Disagree0

No, he said quality...

Agree2 Disagree0

Not another paul okon i hope

Agree0 Disagree0

Bet he ment antelmi who's a striker

Agree1 Disagree0

Doubt he meant Antelmi - he signed pro contract last week....so clearly isn't on trial

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely Michael Brown knows the difference between a cm and a st ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely Brown would have said the guys name, not just some random Aussie!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Antelmi can play either in midfield or up top so it not that clear is it

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably pretty clear cos he might be able to play in defence it dunt matter cos he's signed last week so not on trial
Russ

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol well i just hope whoever it is replaces brown n then warnock can send some of the o.a.p players packing

Agree0 Disagree0

Russ there is no aussie midfielder on trial enough said

Agree0 Disagree0

Quality Aussie midf maybe Harry Kewell who's still free. the others like Tim Cahill, Mark Bresciano, Carl Valeri and Brett Emerton already played in a club
